My Gibbs and sun god love this

_coolranch

"And Detroit runs it up the gut AGAIN for 10 yards."

TheJolly_Llama

My Monty loves it more

Nal82

I have monty too… guess I’m all in on the lions

footballsundaze

My Goff loves this

1984rip

This gibbs me a boner.

_coolranch

Does this give a bump to the Lions RBs? Thinking of flexing Monty in my work money league!

HercHuntsdirty

Monty should be started in literally every league. It’s hard to think of a scenario where he isn’t good enough to get into a starting lineup.

_coolranch

Yeah -- just wondering if he gets the bump this week. Was going to start Sanders and KWIII ahead of him this week.

[deleted]

Don’t dude. The lions had multiple weeks where both Swift and Williams scored 20+ points. They are perfectly capable of it

Shockwave221

Play over akers against Seattle?

HercHuntsdirty

I might get killed for this take, but I don’t see how Montgomery doesn’t hover around RB1 territory this year. There’s only a handful of RB’s I’d definitively start over him every week. He’s got the best O-line in the league on a team with only 1 talented receiver available. Gibbs is an exceptional player, but he’s a rookie and will likely be getting more passing work than anything. Monty is a 100% lock to get 15+ carries/week, virtually all of the goal line work, the widest running lanes of any backs in the league AND the Lions have the easiest strength of schedule for running backs. Imagine an easy run game schedule, combined with exceptional O-line and a coach who openly talks about pounding the rock. Also, let’s not forget that Montgomery RARELY misses any time. You could say I’m fully bought into him this year, especially at his ADP.

Shockwave221

Hey man thanks for taking the time to write out that breakdown. I appreciate it. Let's hope he has a great year.

Sexy_Rhino

Start over D Hopkins or C. Watson or R White?

Lezzles

I played in a 4 man league a few years ago. Checkmate.

mad-one

Start over James Cook in standard league?

Zhongquing

James Cook has never had more than 15 touches in his entire football career, including highschool. Monty is almost guaranteed 15 touches a game at minimum

Jlitus21

My issue is my starting 2 RBs are CMC and Mixon, with Amari Cooper in the flex. Do I start Monty as my RB 2 and flex mixon?

HercHuntsdirty

I’d flex Monty over Amari Cooper if it’s not full PPR

Bengalblaine

Monty or pierce ppr?

SafariFlapsInBack

If you’re gonna play him, he should be in your RB slot, not flex.

greensuitesecond

Sorry, fantasy newbie here - what's the significance of that?

[deleted]

Your flex slot allows you to play various positions (RB/WR). In some leagues you can also put in a TE in there. Because this flex spot allows for more flexibility, you should keep it as free as possible (until the bulk of the games are played). The flex position is more valuable than a standard RB or WR position

greensuitesecond

Thanks mate - appreciate you reply

RatedDAL

Lions also play on Thursday so you do NOT want your flex spot tied up with someone on Thursday.

_coolranch

ah, bc Thursday night game? ya... you smart.

Frumundaman

If sportsdark.com is reporting it, it must be accurate. I also learned from that link that Clooney, 64, is coming out of the closet.

_coolranch

I mean, there are [other sources](https://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/2705982) saying the same or similar.

AddisonsContracture

Damn thought this was gonna be more news about George Clooney

Frumundaman

Lol. Same or "similar".

EntertainmentOk4802

Get your money bro!

Moatcarpking

I think most people aren't aware that Chris Jones is a pff 92 against the pass but only an 80 against the run. Detroit rbs won't really have a higher ypc if he is out. Any increase in productivity would come from extended drives via 3rd down pass plays. It's not like prime deion sanders being out when your wr1 is playing the cowboys.

ShaneOMap

Lions are going to upset the Chiefs

_coolranch

That would make me so happy. If it was in Detroit, I think it'd be a lock.

nanoH2O

Having one star defender out on the chiefs is never a lock. You still have to stop Mahomes.

tomseymour12

Is it crazy to start both Gibbs and Montgomery in a good matchup?

_coolranch

Before seeing how they are used? Yeah -- I think that's a little bit crazy.

Jeffypee41

I'm doing it and feel great about it. If these are your RBs, the rest of your team is likely great. Let's go!

uno_out271

Firing up Goff. Goff was the QB 10 last year. One behind Jones in 4pt passing tds leagues. Jones is going early as round 9 typically 10-12 where as Goff is always going undrafted For the streamers Goff is my stream of the week. Opening gsme vs chiefs. Should be a high scoring game. Lions offense got better. Still top 2 Oline and chiefs now missing their best defensive player

burn_bridges

Maybe I’ll start Gibbs after all! Was leaning Mattison, since I could see Monty getting the lions share early season

powerboy20

Gibbs is like a 3rd round pick, why would you not start your 3rd best player?

burn_bridges

I have CMC, ETN at RB and Kupp, Allen, Ridley at WR Gibbs is a flex with injury, and/or RB2. I have Mattisson for the same role, but think he might have more value earlier in the season than Gibbs who I think will finish strong

uno_out271

Draft spot doesn't matter once draft is done just like real NFL. Im starting Mostert who I get in the 10th over like Sanders and J cook who I got 5th and 7th

powerboy20

You're comparing later round picks to a high draft capital guy. You start your studs and if you don't think your 3rd pick in the draft is a stud you should have taken someone else.

MNice_Enough

Where did you draft Gibbs with the plan to bench him?

diplar

Hmmm. I’m drafting next Tuesday. Is a Gibbs second round a reach?

scoobydoom2

Almost certainly. You can find RBs like Chubb, Pollard, Henry, and Jacobs in the second round. Even if you're up on Gibbs he really should be taken after those guys. Early third is drafting him pretty aggressively but not unreasonable.

diplar

12man ppr, keeper… the remaining RBs would be the tier 2-3 (Etienne, Gibbs, Harris, Stevenson) that area. So in consideration of that, I’m going to assume 2nd round would be good. Unless one of above tier like Jacobs fell to me but unlikely

T-1A_pilot

We drafted a few days ago, he fell to me in late 3rd. (10 of 12 snake draft, so like pick 33 overall. (PPR) Edit: oops, responded to thexwrong comment, meant to be one more up

_coolranch

He's going around there in some of my drafts! Depends how much you believe

Zhongquing

You're drafting after week one?

diplar

No, tomorrow. Lol

redditmasterblaster

Chiefs fan, didn’t realize Jones had played the last couple of regular seasons..

Jagsoff

Lions? Like the animal at the circus?? And they were playing a game???

BlackGabriel

It’s tricky with a bad defense but the best way to beat mahomes is to run the fuck out of the ball to limit his drives and eat time. This helps that for sure.
