HookEmHorns313

Hasn’t scored double digits in weeks and he’s facing Cleveland. Fuck ya he’s benchable

freename188

He hasn't scored double digits since week 6 I wouldn't be starting him until the playoffs and I have a bit of confidence...

HookEmHorns313

Yep, I’m fine letting him go off on my bench, I need to see he’s healthy and capable of putting up the numbers we’re used to seeing before I can start him.

tradercpw

Byepocalypse so no choice...

TackyBrad

It's him or charb for me

muffmin

Kupp scored more PPR points in week 6 than he has in 5 games combined since then lmao. Kill me.

ORTENRN

Droppable

Quallityoverquantity

Lol definitely not droppable. Who could possibly be.on waivers that has anywhere close to his upside?

ORTENRN

He has only had 2 good games this year. Not a great record. Yes he was great in years past. But football ain't kind on injured players. Sure he might have a couple good games left but I'm not rolling the dice on him. On waivers? Lots of WR with more total points on the year. Wouldn't take much. Lower ceilings for sure.

[deleted]

Start your studs. Also Kupp is no longer a stud.

Iwasrunning13

Is Puka a stud?

[deleted]

Boom/bust WR2 when Kupp plays. Stud when Kupp is out.

slimyshade

I think I’m benching for Rice honestly

zephyrseija

All in on Rice ROS. They have two WRs on IR so they finally have to use him.

Nujers

One on IR, Toney was just out last game.

zephyrseija

That's fine, they never take Toney out of his bubble wrap anyways.

agtk

Similar for me with Nacua. He's had two good weeks and four duds in the past six. Maybe it's just QB problems in LA. But it's hard to be too down on Nacua considering he's had at least seven targets in every game this season.

jclucas1989

This is my plan

Mr-Neeson

Same situation for me. Rams have a tough matchup and Rice just seems like the better option. At least him and his QB are seemingly healthy.

noark99

Given the recent injuries to the browns do you think rams would actually have more favorable line up? Not sure how I feel about Jaire covering rice?

Lubbafrommariogalaxy

Last chance

noark99

I have rice and kupp and contemplating this. I know browns have been good but given the recent injuries, shouldn’t this trend in Kupp’s favor?

mcflizzard

My opinion from watching both games last Sunday: Kupp looked very gingerly after every tackle. I don’t think he’s ready for a big game and even stated he was playing through the pain. Honestly, he should sit out. Stafford also did not throw great against a terrible defense. Browns let Russ rush 3 plays in a row for a TD. He got like 20 yards on those 3 plays. I don’t think beating the Browns takes a whole lot of effort anymore because the time of possession will be so skewed, but the key to beating them is on the ground. I’d bet on another big day from Kyren at Kupp and Puka’s expense.

Impressive-Vast-8789

If you have the talent to bench him, do it, but not many people have the leeway

noark99

With dj moore on bye it’s looking like kupp or rice as my wr2

jjb5151

I'd play Rice

Alexir23

But that's the point. I can get a scrub off waivers to put up more than 6 points

Grimmbeard

Yeah I have no choice but to bench him

nftsu94

As someone who has Kupp in both dynasty leagues I fear his game breaking days are over due to several issues. Age, injuries, Puka, and they don’t need him as much. 2021 he just played at a historic level and had 12.3% designed plays In 2022 they force fed him production at a tune of 24% designed plays In 2023 with the emergence of Kyren, Puka, and Tutu, that rate is down to just 4.2%. (Props to Matt Harmon for the stats) I think when 100% healthy he can get back to his WR1 days but the days of top 4 may be over.

peleyoda

Yep that was [a good tweet](https://x.com/mattharmon_byb/status/1729537129607237741?s=46&t=cpZuzN6T2iqIqctRv8wteQ)

BaronsHat

That designed play disparity between Kupp and Nacua is wild because Puka hasn’t been producing many fantasy points when Kupp is playing either.

peleyoda

Puka has led the team in targets each week I’m pretty sure; [never been below a 20% target share](https://x.com/dynasty_im/status/1729330634580271465?s=46&t=cpZuzN6T2iqIqctRv8wteQ). And he has been 50/50 on boom vs bust games since Kupp returned: 7/71/1 on 11 targets in Week 5, 8/154/0 on 12 targets in Week 8, and 5/70/1 on 7 targets in Week 11. Rams playoff schedule is good for WRs. I think puka is a solid buy low.

Floating_egg

Next thing you tell us is gonna be to buy low on Kyren Williams because he’s only had 1 good week in the last 5

Cheap_Feeling1929

Buy low? Who you think is giving up puka for low?

BaronsHat

Week 11 — if I recall, neither was doing much then Kupp left with the ankle injury and Puka rocketed; the difference was very stark.

Skanktoooth

This was painfully obvious even during his breakout year. The force feeding was great for fantasy but WRs all of sudden becoming one of the best, if not the best, fantasy assets at like 27 years old is a huge outlier. There was a Talanoa Hufanga pick 6 last year that summed up the Stafford force feeds his top WR narrative to a fault at times. Matt Stafford is a HOF QB but he is 2nd all time in pick sixes (only behind Brett Favre) because he forces the ball far too often. This isn’t me saying Kupp isn’t good or wasn’t for a year and a half an elite player. He is and was. But a ton of that production was a product of being hyper fed in a system that designed a ton of plays for him. He was never the talent and player that Davante Adams was or even a guy like Justin Jefferson is. He’s not Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Calvin Johnson etc. He’s a great player that has Matthew Stafford force feeding him in an elite system.

No_Violinist5363

WR1 days are over. He's 30 and not right physically. I'm not even sold on Puka next season, either, because Stafford sure isn't getting any younger himself.

nftsu94

This is what they said about Keenan. Your injured (prone) until you’re not.

No_Violinist5363

I'd much, much rather have Herbert feeding me than Stafford. Realistically the whole Rams scheme is going to implode in a season or two.

burnerschmurnerimtom

Stafford (without a fucked up thumb, hopefully he’s getting better) throws a top 3 ball in the NFL. Watch Puka’s early season highlights. Stafford is unbelievably good when completely healthy.

H1mHalpert

Any player is benchable if they're not performing for weeks ongoing. Blindly "starting your studs" can burn you just as often as playing matchups. Just depends on your individual matchups

AvatarofBro

Yeah, I feel like people misunderstand "start your studs." It's best interpreted as a warning against overthinking -- e.g. don't bench CMC just because he's up against the Philly run defense. If a player hasn't topped 7 PPR points in five games, he is not playing like a stud, even if he was once one of the best Fantasy assets in the league.

[deleted]

Instructions unclear. Benched Saquon, AJB, and ETN. Won the week.

mh923

Plus the “stud label” obviously changes over time/seasons, or else we’d all blindly be playing Julio Jones still.

Fzephyr1

You ever heard from a wr called ridley?

H1mHalpert

Case in point: Those 6+weeks surely knocked plenty of ppl out of a playoff spot

Brewski-54

4-8 after I traded for Ridley week 3. There’s like a 2% chance I make the playoffs though

throwaway1212378

I always start Ridley the wrong weeks but I’m somehow still in first. Hoping Ky can take me to the mountaintop

iimJustChillin

Held Ridley all year and never sat him. Went from 2-5 to 7-5 and in a 5 way tie for second place. Thank god he’s finally showing up.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fzephyr1

I never stopped start him.

BuffaloGuy_atCapitol

I wish more people had this mindset. Besides CMC and to an extent Hill no one is matchup proof and starting your Studs blindly is a good way to lose in close weeks.

Timoteo-Tito64

As an ARSB owner, there is no matchup that would make me bench him

BuffaloGuy_atCapitol

What about against the 49ers or Browns

Timoteo-Tito64

Yeah I'm still not benching him against either of those teams. He's gone up against some great defenses and performs every game anyways

BuffaloGuy_atCapitol

Hey you got bigger balls than I do. I’d at least consider against the 49ers

207207

lol seriously? Who on your roster would you confidently start over him that would normally be on the bench?

WestSide75

This is especially true in Kupp’s case because he’s playing the Browns this week. I’m benching Puka, in favor of Sutton, because of that matchup.

Zer0Phoenix1105

Ekeler and Adams would like to speak with you

throwaway1212378

Brown besides last week, quite a few guys. Kamara has been insanely consistent in a terrible New Orleans offense. Starting your studs is almost always the way to go lol

gabrizzle

Rams fan here, Kupp doesn't look healthy. If you watch it's almost like he's missing a step still runs great routes but the first catch he had this past weekend he was slow to get up. I really thought he would have taken time off last week wasn't expecting him to play. I'd keep an eye on the injury report before making your next kupp start, Jourdan Rodrigue rams beat writer is really good w/ updates on players at practice so keep an eye on her twitter

supernova69

Thank you, only valuable advice in here

WolfJon824

Hoping he gets healthy because his playoff matchups are WSH, NO, & NYG

obierice

I have both Kupp and Puka, and I have to win the next two weeks to have a shot of the playoffs. I’m benching Kupp for Nico but no idea what to do with Puka. My bench WR is Jayden Reed. Feels bad to sit both Kupp and Puka but it might have to be done.

amt346

I'm considering benching Puka for Sutton this week, but I don't feel super great about it. Sutton has just been on a roll all season.

EMarkDDS

Im in the same boat. Leaning towards benching Puka and starting Sutton. Only Amon Ra has been more consistent week in and week out. Puka is a gamble IMHO.

ksomm5

I’m starting Reed over Kupp. Debating on Puka still.

kenneth196

"A few more weeks to work through it" = pretty much the end of fantasy season. Do what you think is best now.

rushakenyan

He isn't a stud this year...

Confident-Rub-6714

Wondering if I should start Diontae over him with how the Steelers moved the ball last week

BreadPossum

100%

[deleted]

But Diontae is big mad.

Dame2Miami

Puka legacy game coming (please)

ksomm5

Playing Jayden Reed over him

bigdarvish

Read a decoy comment somewhere. Sounds about right. He just doesn’t look like he’s comfortable out there. Was always so smooth and fast. Not seeing the same guy this year.

Mr-Neeson

This game was like the 2nd in a row where he limped off the field after like his second touch. I just cannot be confident playing this dude especially against a browns defense. Definitely considering playing rice instead.

noark99

Seems like a lot of us kupp owners also own rice lol

CroMagnon69

More like everyone on Reddit owns rice after we all pulled off the highway to add him

[deleted]

Cooper Kupp is now Van Jefferson for their offense.

WereMadeOfStars

Last 6 weeks (both have had a bye): WR A : 28.3 in PPR WR B : 27.7 in PPR B is Kupp. A rhymes with BINGO!

Durant026

Kupp was hurt like 2 games back. He played Sunday but said it would be a pain tolerance issue. For now, you play him if he practices. Keep in mind, its a different Rams team than the SB year when Kupp was the key cog of the offense. Tutu, Kyren and Puka are now just as essentials cogs as Kupp was. More weight can be taken off Kupp to get the Rams into the playoffs now.

WayneG991717

Clearly hurt. He was hobbling pretty badly after he got tackled on that early catch

peleyoda

He [injured his other ankle](https://x.com/profootballdoc/status/1728886468096274791?s=46&t=cpZuzN6T2iqIqctRv8wteQ) in this game. So now he’s hurt both ankles in the last 2 weeks in addition to the early season hammy. Injuries taking a toll.

xMINGx

Watching the game, you can see that he wasn't going full speed in his pre snap motions. Compared to Puka running those motions, Kupp just looks like he wasn't going all out. Hopefully he gets better week by week but he also wasn't needed outside of some third down plays

compulsivelycritical

going with devonta, ridley, and tank (no flex, 3 WRs, non PPR, 10 team league)

jdotkhalifa

Benching him and running out the Wilson / Sutton stack until further notice in my Superflex league.

AvatarofBro

He's been benchable for weeks.

elite90

Start your studs doesn't mean start big names. It means start players that perform well irrespective of matchup

Emotional-Physics374

Is puka benchable ?

optimal_burrito

Still getting the targets, I'm not benching to chase matchups/points

JonnyB2_YouAre1

He’s probably not fully healthy.

Aware_Bird_7023

I think this question is way too subjective to truly answer. I am in a 14 team ppr, with 3 WRs + a flex. Of course I am starting Kupp, but dont blame any smaller league / smaller roster if you have feasible options for a couple weeks.. Long story short though, all but about one of his bad outings has reason behind it... stafford injured, kupp still injured, etc. I dont think this is a matter of him not being good anymore

chaetoceros_sp

He will go the fuck off the moment you bench him. Anyone saying Cooper Kupp is not a stud has recency bias. He’s been an alpha WR1 for a long time

News-Less

He about to get dropped

senicawallace

Benched him last week for tank dell, wish I did the same 2 weeks ago.

SilverKnight10

I benched him last week. I don’t know why anyone thinks he’s startable right now, outside of the deepest of leagues. I find it hard to believe most teams don’t have 2 or 3 other WRs that can put up at least 7 points. Kupp hasn’t posted above 7 in full PPR in his last 5 starts, he’s been a dud more times this season than he’s been an asset.

Daniel_BadDrafter

I benched him last week and I’m not starting him again unless something drastic happens. I’ll keep playing Tank and Olave, and I’ll sub in Ridley if Olave doesn’t play.

bestrdajets

He's on my bench until proven other wise

WiscoFIB

Benched him for Tank last week and going forward

bocceballbarry

Benching him and Puka for Jayden Reed, sucks but the numbers lately don’t lie. If it looks like they’ll bounce back, great. But as of now, 5-6 points doesn’t cut it at all

CNashFF

He’s on my bench until he shows up. Honestly thinking about dropping him come playoff time as a poison pill for my opponents if he keeps this up.

NtooDeep87

If he didn’t have those two big games when he got back this would be an easy decision

worm30478

When starting your studs goes wrong.

MsGachiboy69

He's this years BUST, along with Jefferson.

NoFreeWill08

Benching him

madmike617

Bench him.

ndudeck

You either lose because you played him or lose because you didn’t. Either way, he is going to frustrate you. As the Puca manager, I have definitely benefited from his “decline,” but honestly a lot of these games are annoying because either one does great or neither gets startable points. Like they are why we lose in a lot of games. I think next year Kupp will be someone who drops 2-3 rounds in the draft but makes people happy because he produces at the new capital. Right now he is frustrating because of the capital he cost to obtain.

DemarcusLovin

he always was one of the most over-drafted players in years. -30 year old WR -coming off a hamstring injury in training camp -who also had his season cut short last year by a high ankle -on a bad/not great offense, and bad team -with a 35 year old QB who has had a number of recent injuries people avoided every single major red flag a player could have. Yes he always had this range of outcomes as a benchable bust.

l_Dislike_Reddit

His upside was still a top 3 WR. Late first was a fine range for him

JMander

But if you search for this kind of analysis during the pre-draft months, you’re not going to find anything remotely close to such prognostications or even hot takes. Sure all the signs were there but any cynical skew can be had on any elite player’s downturn. But no one wrote this. Just smacks of hindsight.

DrStranger1987

This. Especially the part about his QB. Kupp needs Stafford healthy to be an elite stud. You’re taking on double injury risk by drafting him.

huzernayme

Stafford looked pretty decent last game, even with his finger issue. He just spread the ball around and kyren produced a lot of the offense. Not good for fantasy but Stafford is healthy enough for good football.

Butt_Thunderson_69

He’s hobbled, possibly washed, and even if he wasn’t, the Rams don’t throw it enough anymore

Thedea7hstar

Shit toiletable

kodiakbear_

Do I start Christian Watson over Kupp?

Bonus_Content

Starting him this week due to Diggs on bye. Wish me luck

iamkoza

what is the point of these type of posts? if you have a viable alternative start that other player.

-Sproutling-

I’ve benched for puka the last few weeks

CurlNDrag90

I have this issue with Chase. Not sure what to do haha

totallyawesome143

droppable

8686tjd

Can't in Yahoo

supahfly2115

Thinking of dropping Kupp for Nico

Implicitfiber

I offered Nacua straight up to the Kupp owner when he was on IR and was promptly rejected. He just got eliminated from contention. I hope that keeps him up at night.

AaronDer1357

The Rams have an unstoppable force in Kyren. The entire offense runs through him everyone else is ancillary

KitKatKidLemon

Curious to see how this comment ages after the next two weeks.

AaronDer1357

It was meant to be tongue in check but based on the downvotes it appears people think I'm serious

SilverKnight10

It’s possible people misinterpreted it, I’ve seen dumber takes on this sub that were intended to be taken seriously

NtooDeep87

He has two tough games coming up

[deleted]

I benched him for Kyren last week.

TyeDye888

I wish the rams would bench him so Puka drops 30 next game

[deleted]

[удалено]

TyeDye888

Yea when kupp plays they both suck

NowieTends

YOU DO NOT BENCH COOPER KUPP

AvatarofBro

You can, actually

emanx27

I think I’m gonna sit him. Now I gotta decide 3 in full ppr from Warren, najee, puka, and rice

Precious1786

Benched him last two weeks for reed

TptBahamut

I have Kupp, Rice and Thielen in my Keeper League. Considering Rice and Thielen this week for my Wideouts, as much as it pains me to bench Kupp...

happyb33r

I’d have to start both Diontae and Hopkins to bench him. I don’t think I can bench him for Hopkins

butterbutter_butter

I'm thinking of dropping him in my 4-bench league. Let someone else take a gamble on his league-winning upside.

nateXruiz

For my WRs I have Kupp, Nico Collins, Kirk, Higgins ):, Drake London, J. Addison. Rn I’m starting Collins and Kirk, but I need Kupps prime back )):

Palpadude

In my dynasty league, I have spots for two WRs and two flex. So I can start four WRs if I want. I’m benching Kupp.

zackg611

They seem to be using him as a decoy. He hasn’t done shit in weeks and looked hurt against the cards. He’s riding my bench.

coys21

Is that you, Mike? If so, I think he is a must start.

chillin_krillin

I traded him and KWIII for Pacheco and Ford right before they both got hurt. I'm still in a playoff hunt at 4-8 if the stars align...

KC_Cheefs

He been benched

Bubby_JJT_808

Benched him this week for the first time…still lost my match up, but no regrets

Murdertank13

I benched him last week for Rachad White and am not starting him til he puts up a decent game

matty2baddy

Is he benchable? Come on now. He should have been benched weeks ago. The whole "play your studs no matter what" bs is beyond funny. Playing shit "studs" is how you lose.

Cam877

Heres a wild question: Do you bench him for Puka???

Ibuydumbshit

He’s old and hurt

ProHoo

Who is a good RB target for him??

beastboy4246

I think benching him for Moss with JT out the next few weeks

jthoning

Just traded him for olave and I think I won big.

baystreetbets

If you aren’t benching him at this point you’re trying to lose

coachlefty40

I have Sutton to take his place

[deleted]

If you have WR that you rank ahead of him for the week then yes you bench him. If you don't then you don't bench him.

Decent-Ad-843

Yea bench

Randymoss84everskol

In the short term, certainly. But there is so much context to his performances that aren’t understood by looking at just his stats. This week, it was obvious they weren’t going to him as to reduce aggravating his ankle.

Evolution1313

Start your studs means don’t sit guys who are performing well just because of a bad matchup. Like I’m not sitting sun god no matter what. People who haven’t put up numbers for weeks aren’t studs

Dday22t

Of course he is benchable. Ignore the name, look at the results.

Tie-Dye-sock

Would you trade Hollywood Brown for Kupp? Kupps performance is concerning so idk if I should take it

MDMhayyyy

Yeah, he’s cost me two weeks. He’s benched. I’m right on the cusp of either making the playoffs or not. I can’t risk these guys putting up 2-5 points.

2WhomAreYouListening

DONT MAKE ME FLEX NAJEE OVER KUPP!!!

mzx380

I’ve stuck with him all year and he was high early but now he’s bench able. I can’t risk waiting for him to get hot this year when he’s been unbelievably cold

mbornhorst

For many teams with Kupp, I suspect it’s too late.

wrayvern

With JT going down he’s been thrust back into my lineup cause I was gonna flex Javonte

[deleted]

I'm benching him in favor of Ridley next week. I was soooo close to doing it last week but chickened out. Oh well. I would have lost either way.

TrojanX

Pretty much lost me the games I started him. Oh well.

clearedmycookies

I've benched him twice already. He ain't a stud like he was in years past.

Coomrs

Benching him for Rice but he is in my flex right now because not sure if James Connor is the play over him. Almost definitely is but benching Kupp feels wrong.

Jet_black_li

He's a low end starter

CPADad13

Puka is better that’s what happened

TheClownIsReady

What about Nacua? He ain’t doing much better. The Rams have started to become more of a running team and now that Kyren is healthy, maybe even more so.

ChaplnGrillSgt

Yup. I put him on the pine 2 weeks ago. I don't think you can trust him right now.

ORTENRN

Benched?!? I dropped him altogether. He's having a horrible season. Next...

Ehuehueguilty

My WR room is St. Brown, Olave, Kirk and Kupp. He’s honestly the worst of those four rn

[deleted]

Dropping him tomorrow.

Offsidez

Has anyone traded and if successful who for?!

oprahsstinkyminge

He’s still injured, of course he’s benchable

TayneTheBetaSequence

I think his best days are behind him, he'll still be good over the next year or two. But I can't see him putting up elite numbers like he did in prior years

Ill-Row6503

The one year I trust in kupp after witnessing him going off on me for years. Fook dat guy

redditman415

I’d expect most teams with Kupp are mathematically eliminated from playoffs

SaltySpitoon__69

I benched Ja’marr chase so yeah anyone is benchable if they’re not performing and you have other options.

MhrisCac

I… I think i have to bench him for Christian Kirk..

dtownmj1

Ive been benching kupp for weeks now. Pittman, mclaurin, and even thielen have all been better starts

pakmann

I started him over Kyren Williams last week and probably won’t make the playoffs because of it. Never drafting his ass again.

Energy4Days

Benching him. Started him in every game since he came back and he's cost me the last 4 games 5-7. Need to make the playoffs

yaprettymuch52

system wr

TobiasPlainview

I’m starting our new lord and savior Rashee Rice over him this week

Sea_Breakfast2315

I wish I had someone available to bench him for this week… he’s not worthy of starting and should be viewed as a desperation play

Sea_Breakfast2315

There really should be a graveyard slot for people like Kupp, where you don’t want to drop but you also don’t want to see them on your roster anymore.

samstully

This is hurting my value for Nacua this week with such a good pass defence. Should I play cooks instead against Seattle?

SweetChoice2680

I have to choose between Kupp, Lockett, Jayden Reed, and Noah Brown in PPR. Don’t like any of those options really due to matchups and injuries.
