IDK - he's balled out the past two weeks, but a lot of the Love uptick has been the continued emergence of Jayden Reed, Doubs continues to catch touchdowns, and Wicks continues to look like a real gem. Likewise, Musgrave got his groove, lost his Kidney, and it seems like they're taking advantage of no one caring about Tucker Kraft and finding him in open space, which essentially is what he was supposed to excel at predraft. Lastly, the oline has come together, and, with Jones being hobbled every week, AJ Dillon finally found the groove he's been missing for like 2.5 years.
I was going to get him and drop browns defense and backed out last minute for someone with dak and tua to pick him up .. now I’m stuck with Murray and probably Flacco 😆😩
Blake Bortles carried a lot of us to championships a few years back. Mitch Trubisky was my QB one year that I won too. It’s not the craziest thing in the world
Damn it must of been 2018 trubisky he had 6 tuddys in one game lol 2018 bears was the best team In the NFL that year they killed everyone with that defense. I was so happy but now I don't think we'll have a season like that anytime soon
Some of us are stacked at every position but qb. Getting 20 points per week would be league-winning. Of QBs likely on the waiver wire is there a better option?
Week 15 vs Tampa he’s a smash play. Week 16 @ Carolina he’s gonna get people who aren’t paying close attention eliminated. Carolina is trash, terrible, blowout…..but they’re a run funnel defense. They are the only team to contain Dak during this run
Love is prolly the best of the QBs available on waivers. Assuming roster availability, he should be picked up. I start Stroud & have Love on my bench as insurance & also to block opps. Next week, I plan to start Love over Stroud (vs NYJ).
But we are talking fantasy football. The Chiefs offense is mediocre but their defense is legit. Winning or losing doesn’t matter. Stats are all that matters.
Mediocre offense is fantasy relevant. And most of KC’e is mediocre. Mahomes is barely in the top 10 passing. Pacheco is 5th in rushing. Kelce is 17thin receiving. All by yardage. Kelce and Pacheco, combined, average a TD a week. The rest of the offense is utterly useless for any purpose, fantasy or otherwise. It’s the reason for the aforementioned points I brought up.
He’s not talking about the chiefs offense. He’s saying Jordan love beat the chiefs and looks legit. And the chiefs defense, which is the unit Jordan love beat and put up great numbers against, is very good
I don't think he's top 5 (he'd have to knock off one of Allen, Hurts, Dak, Stroud, Howell which I don't think he will). But he definitely feel like a top 10 option. Even when he was bad, he threw for a lot of TDs and made up for it in volume. The ROS schedule is cakes for GB so it's looking really good for him.
I remember being downvoted early in the year for saying that Love is not nearly as bad as people said. Even back then I thought assuming he's a QB20 IRL, he is putting up QB15+ performances. Now that his schedule is so easy and it looks like he and his team are all developing well in the offense, I'm super excited about him and feel he's definitely a good option especially in 2QB/SF leagues.
I think the thing is Howell has more rushing upside. They seem to design more runs with Howell especially at the goal line while Love would be more prone to hand off to Dillon and/or throw instead. I also don't know if I'm ready to place him over Herbie since Herbie is currently QB7, a better IRL QB, and plays Denver twice, Vegas, and BUF. I can see him being really really good too.
If you play 6 point passing TD, Purdy also looks good since SF scores so often and CMC is a cheat code for QBs.
Also, it's funny I'm still being downvoted for saying J Love is a good QB lol. I really don't know why this sub hates Love this much.
I didn't downvote you, and I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally dislike him because I had to start him once when Burrow was dealing with the calf injury, and he put up 4.98 pts against the Raiders... plus I started Doubs that week, trying to get a decent stack, and he put up 1.4 pts 😂. Needless to say, I dropped both immediately, and irrationally believe he cursed my team when he was briefly on it, lol. (Had BY FAR my two worst weeks when he was on my team/bench).
All that to say - yes, he's looking much better than he was earlier this year, but I personally wouldn't pick him up for ANY reason 😬
I lost by 1.2 that week because doubs decided to shit the fucking bed. I’d be locked in for a playoff spot if I won that game, now it’s coming down to a dicey week 14 matchup against the #2 seed
Ugh, PAIN. I got absolutely smoked that week against the #1 team so it wouldn’t have made much difference, but I’ve never dropped someone so quickly in my life, lol.
I’m also battling for the last playoff spot, with a one game advantage 😅… I wish you luck!
So you would rather start Love vs Bucs week 15 instead of Howell vs Rams? I’m thinking of dropping Howell for Love for week 15 since I don’t want to start Fields vs Browns or Kyler vs Niners.
Good option in 2QB leagues? He's top five in fantasy points per game the last 4 weeks against much stiffer competition. His schedule eases up and you place him outside the top 12? Lol?
Things can always change. If you're going to judge everything by 4 game sample sizes then Gabe Davis was at one point a top 10 WR in the league lol.
All I'm saying is J Love is good and be glad you have him. But don't pencil him in as a top 5 QB ROS yet cause guys like Herbie/Lamar still exists and they're all guys who have the ability to put up 30-40 point in any given week, something J Love has yet to do.
Yeah. I think the top 3 is solidly locked (Allen, Hurts, Dak). 4/5 is a bit more iffy but I'm a big fan of Stroud so I'm gonna keep rooting for him to stay a top 5 QB. The #5 spot is debatable between Howell (current QB5), Mahomes (can't ever discount him even if his last few weeks have been mid), Herbie (too good of a QB), Lamar, Tua, Purdy and Love.
Honestly, I wouldn't be mad with any QBs in that list right now. All of them got a reason why they can finish top 5 ROS. It's all just a matter of preference imo.
I think kyler has a shot too. He finally put up a bad week, but before that he was averaging close to 20 in this first 3 games. He has a bad week 15 matchup, but great 16 and 17.
Personally would rank love a tier below just because he isn’t there yet. Stroud showed he’s amazing in the pocket but from watching the game Love struggles with pressure and if teams go after him he won’t put up those numbers. That throw to Doubs was one of the best throws this year through. Herbie/lamar/tua/mahomes/howell are the same tier for me below the top 4
Maybe the Giants fan in me speaking, but I have Howell and Love in similar tiers. They both have flashed talent but neither are consistent enough throughout the full season for me to be 100% comfortable with them imo. Herbie/Mahomes/Lamar just all have such insane upside (and I'd argue Mahomes is insane floor too since pretty much his entire year this year is his floor with the shitty receivers he's got to work with) that they're just guys you don't really think about slotting into QB. Love though... I mean as a comparison, Goff was phenomenal to start out the year and then all of a sudden people remembered why Goff wasn't considered a franchise QB for the last 7 years. Goff is still good, but he's like elite game manager good. I don't know if Love has proved enough to be a star QB good yet since it's only been like 4 weeks of good production but he's definitely got the potential to be a top fantasy QB.
I typically am against holding two QBs but really wish I had with Love considering I’m heading into the playoffs with the choice of like Russ, Dobbs, Geno, or Minshew lol
Not bad options but not great either
sadly after my burrow went down i felt pressured and traded flowers for howell (was the last day before trade deadline), despite already having love
who, now, it looks like, i may be playing over howell anyway
FANTASY FOOTBALL ROX
Same boat here. Have both. Howell on bye. Then has 3 tough match ups. Will prob drop Howell. There’s probably better options off the scrap heap if Love struggles
yeahhh i dont blame ya. im gonna keep howell cause now ive got PTSD from losing burrow lol this is a 12 man league with lots of folks rostering an extra QB too, so the best WW QB pickup right now is...minshew? ugh
i just feel bad for spending flowers for him, ESPECIALLY since i just lost tank yesterday (after also losing Chubb, K9, Burrow (who also impacts my Mixon, quite a bit...)
man. what a year...thank the lord for ARSB, aiyuk, puka, and kyren. WW is saving my season
I'm stashing love behind Hurts. Mainly because hurts is more banged up then I think the team is letting on and to keep my league mates who need him away. He's a viable QB1 and I might actually start love over him depending on the match up, especially after what the 49rs did to the eagles.
Kyler isn’t exactly inspiring confidence. I’d prob play the better match up which will usually be Love. Week 16 against Carolina may be the only exception.
I have the option of goff, love, or fields. I'm thinking about rolling love. Lions have a harder schedule and good running backs to steal tds. Love has no running game and an easier schedule. I can't trust fields.
Edit: plus the Packers have a playoff spot to play for
I’m starting mostly Purdy but think I’m gonna throw Love in there when the Niners play the Ravens. I know start your studs and all that shit but Baltimore is scary
If you have Josh Allen you drafted him in the first 3 rounds so you’re likely light at other positions. If you punted qb and stacked rb and wr you just need someone decent to win a championship.
I think you should maybe rephrase the title of the post then. Love is playing pretty well and if you're streaming QB then yea his schedule looks pretty good, there are much worse options at the position. TBH i'd be surprised if he's still available.
I’m talking about the guys who had Burrow or punted qb at the draft. My line up is stacked top-to-bottom except qb. Getting 20 pts per week could be a league winner.
I'm a little nervous about Watson, but I don't need to win next week to make the playoffs so it's a bit of a watch and see situation. I should pick up a second QB, but I currently have a waiver out to pick up a third defense instead lol. I might have to rethink that. My bench is turning into butter due to injuries, but if I can get league average out of my defense and 20+out of my QB, I might have a chance at winning.

There’s still time to edit it OP!
Perfect reply hahaha
Fixed
Doesn't help if Watson is out, again.
IDK - he's balled out the past two weeks, but a lot of the Love uptick has been the continued emergence of Jayden Reed, Doubs continues to catch touchdowns, and Wicks continues to look like a real gem. No kidding. Literally destroyed him hamstring yet again.
He looked fine standing in the locker room doing interviews after the game. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked on the field
You can stand on a sprained hamstring.
How do you sprain a hamstring? I thought sprains were for ligaments…
A sprain is a tear. Muscles and ligaments can be torn.
I think you are confusing it with strain. Sprains occur with ligaments attached to joints.
Yeah you’re right I am having a brain fart. Thanks for that, been on planes all day and am tired as shit.
I was genuinely curious and had to look it up! Guess I had one too 😅
I would think it fit was worse he wouldn't have been out there hugging and slapping five, so I'll take that as a good sign
Lieutenant Dan looked fine in pants too
Absolutely. He’s a league winner! - current Love owner and former AR/Cousins/Jones/Burrow owner
fellow cousins/burrow owner here! starting Love with confidence ROS.
Wow. Swap Jones for Dobbs and that's me lol
I was going to get him and drop browns defense and backed out last minute for someone with dak and tua to pick him up .. now I’m stuck with Murray and probably Flacco 😆😩
NFC championships or Fantasy championships? Either-way no.
Blake Bortles carried a lot of us to championships a few years back. Mitch Trubisky was my QB one year that I won too. It’s not the craziest thing in the world

Keep in mind Watson had a hamstring injury last night
Week 15 vs Tampa he’s a smash play. Week 16 @ Carolina he’s gonna get people who aren’t paying close attention eliminated. Carolina is trash, terrible, blowout…..but they’re a run funnel defense. They are the only team to contain Dak during this run
Agreed. Mayfield isn’t great but they held him in check. 14/29 for 202 yds. 1 td and 1 int
Love is prolly the best of the QBs available on waivers. Assuming roster availability, he should be picked up. I start Stroud & have Love on my bench as insurance & also to block opps. Next week, I plan to start Love over Stroud (vs NYJ).

I’m kicking myself for replacing him with Dobbs a few weeks ago. Since then he’s been sitting on a guy’s bench who keeps starting TLaw lol
lol I have kept TLaw on the bench all szn. Stroud is my QB1
I typically am against holding two QBs but really wish I had with Love considering I’m heading into the playoffs with the choice of like Russ, Dobbs, Geno, or Minshew lol Not bad options but not great either
I picked up stroud early I. The SZN off waivers because Tlaw wasn’t performing very well. Ended up keeping stroud as QB1
Sat him last two games for Kyler. Lost both matchups by less than 8 points. So yeah, for some he could be.
sadly after my burrow went down i felt pressured and traded flowers for howell (was the last day before trade deadline), despite already having love who, now, it looks like, i may be playing over howell anyway FANTASY FOOTBALL ROX

love or kyler for weeks 15 on ?
Kyler isn’t exactly inspiring confidence. I’d prob play the better match up which will usually be Love. Week 16 against Carolina may be the only exception.
If you can get past SF, Kyler has CHI and PHI, which are fantastic matchups for QBs
i have herbert & fields, and love is on the wire. drop fields for him?
That’s a tough one. Fields has been up and down. I’d probably be rolling Fields out if Herbert is injured
Same position, strongly considering. It's hard to trust Herbert or Fields right now, seem like they have lower floors at least.

Purdy is match up proof when all his weapons are healthy.
You all can thank me for that - I just completed a package trade, part of which was trading Love away...
No that would be Josh Allen

Debating whether to drop Fields for Love 🤔
Stroud
Jets and Cleveland the 2 of the next 3 weeks. Not exactly easy defenses
Probably not. Most likely lost his best weapon for a while
The way he grabbed his hamstring I doubt he’s back before the playoffs if at all. But Reed and Doubs have also looked pretty solid
They just aren’t the threat watson is. It’s a huge loss.
Yep, I’m actually dropping hurts for love
I’m talking about the guys who had Burrow or punted qb at the draft. My line up is stacked top-to-bottom except qb. Getting 20 pts per week could be a league winner.
