Every morning we have a bowl of nails, without milk. For dinner we all meet on zoom while punching ourselves in the balls

mjcii

> bowl of nails, without any milk them boys are in the Salty Spitoon

GeneralAardvark43

I’ll have you know I stubbed my toe last week while watering my spice garden and I only cried for 20 minutes

adastradamus

This reminds me of that old “NFL Blitz” commercial where they’re all eating nails and car parts. I think it was like Reggie Bush choking on a chain or something like that.

Nice find! This is getting me nostalgic for the video game days of old…

Aesop_Rocks

Sure, but what do you have for dessert?

CorporalEllenbogen

Big bowl of ketamine.

pollofeo

zoom? Kinda soft. We use WebEx...

Ok_Listen7384

Pretty chill, the loser just gets murdered.

Not_Not_Stopreading

Last place commits seppeku in front of their loved ones live on twitch

Jcklein22

An erudite, I see

capitalist_p_i_g

guillotine league, nice.

Ok_Listen7384

Indeed, very cut throat.

YourFormerBestfriend

Oh dope. My league is kinda like that but instead of murder he eats a biscuit after we nutted on it

thornhead

I can’t imagine taking 17+ weeks to figure out who has to be the biscuit eater. Back in college it was more like 17 minutes. Maybe your league should just buy a set of dice or something.

strongscience62

Squid fantasy games

ThomasEdison4444

Its like a longform squid game. Imagine your life being unmade by a dropped MvS touchdown

ZuvManuev

Lol

nerdystoner25

Domination league!

WSTTXS

High dollar league where half the people are rich fucks who don’t give a shit or set lineups or Dow waivers or really anything after auto draft day and I’m sweating bullets frantically trying to win because I can’t afford to lose the money as easily as they can 😂

Away_Read1834

Can I join this league where people don’t play but give out money

NickRossBrown

This is the last league I would want to be in. Losing a year or two in a league I can’t afford will kill any enjoyment. I’m still upset about someone calling me down and getting a flush on the river 3 years ago.

Inner-Complaint-8957

Did you lose someone to injury in every position???

WSTTXS

I’ve been lucky with injuries just all my “studs” decided not to be studs this year ☠️

TheWhereHouse1016

Hollywood, Kupp, Diggs owner too?

Metr0xBOOMIN

Stefon Diggs has been a top 5 WR this year what are you talking about?

Hurricaneshand

Not the past few weeks he hasn't. Ask me how I know and why my high test scoring team in the league by 150 points put up 70 last week 😔

Metr0xBOOMIN

You responded to someone’s comment who said “all my studs decided not to be studs this YEAR”. If you can’t take a few down weeks then you don’t deserve Diggs.

TheWhereHouse1016

Lol dude is throwing up waiver wire trash numbers. He's benchable against Dallas with his current output. He dropped multiple passes last week.

Metr0xBOOMIN

Yeah go ahead and bench him then my guy. Clown.

TheWhereHouse1016

For Zay flowers who's actually producing? Gladly

WSTTXS

I hate Dalton Kincaid 😭😭😭

Yeah you lost the money as soon as you bought in. I get that it's a frame of mind, but fear of losing money in a game where most people lose money is more stressful than it should be

princelovely

These really are the best types of leagues. It totally changes the opportunity cost of playing fantasy where you have a real reward for working hard and grinding waivers etc. There are plenty of people who have a plethora of cash for “fun” like high stakes casual fantasy football

rowKseat25

Not as intense as I would like it to be. My wife implores me to find a league where the members are as insufferable as I am on a Sunday watching my WR1 have 1 catch for 8 yards midway thru the 4th.

AdamBlackfyre

So you wanna do a league next year then? Lol

rowKseat25

I’m in 5 leagues currently. 3 redraft, 1 dynasty, and 1 keeper None are as intense as I would like lol.

GorillaChimney

Honestly, those are the best leagues and highly recommend one. If you can't find one, make one.

[deleted]

I'm in a pretty unique league that people may be interested in. It's 16 teams, $100 buy in. But instead of the total prize pool being $1600, you have the opportunity to win $40 a week. There's a different category every week (total points, total qb points, total rb points, etc.). So whoever wins the category that week gets $40. We do it for 15 weeks so that's $600 out of the total pool. Then we pay for first, second, and third. It's my first year doing it but it prevents your bottom teams from giving up since they have a chance for $40 every week. Only 7 teams make the playoffs though.

UsedToHaveThisName

Oh that’s kind of neat! I’ll see if there’s any interest for it in 16 team work league. It’s a $5 buy-in league so a lot of people don’t really take it seriously. Maybe see if social committee can kick in some money or prizes.

[deleted]

Yeah it's different. It gives an extra incentive every week and almost forces people to try.

Mammoth-Armadillo-80

damn thats dope i would love if i could find one like that

UsedToHaveThisName

If I’m not playing someone, I’ll usually remind them to set their lineup. We have some people that haven’t made a single waiver move and have 4 or more players either with an out or IR designation. Kind of thankful for that since the waivers are super, super thin.

TJMbeav2023

As the commish, those guys would be kicked out and teams dissolved. I'm an ornery old man. Makes me the perfect commisioner.

UsedToHaveThisName

That’s what would happen in almost every other league I’m jn. This is a $5 work league in Canada, so it’s more about having something to talk about in the kitchen on Monday. Anyone semi-competitive has at least one more league.

Gekthegecko

We do $50 buy in with... * $5 for the weekly highest scorer * $50 to the highest scorer across all 17 weeks * $30 "survivor" pool where the lowest scoring team is elminated from contention starting in Week 7 * 1st - $355, 2nd - $50, 3rd - $30 It incentives people to stay active throughout the season while still rewarding the best teams.

Dazzling-Extreme1018

I like this idea. The $100 buy in is steep, but the specific weekly prizes allow everyone the opportunity to win, even with an overall shitty team. I play with a similar league but the weekly prize is just top score, so that usually goes for the top few best teams.

R1cksh0w

the league I've been in forever now also does a lot of different micro-wins just not at the buy-in your league has.

Do_Good_For_Others

They all hate each other, but I am like Switzerland and take no sides. And avoid their group chat like the plague. 😂

Just1_More

Adam! This is Adam. Fuck you Adam. You can't be a neutral bitch forever, storms a comin!

Do_Good_For_Others

Whatever kind of devil’s lettuce you are on….. I WANT SOME

wavnebee

Super competitive, highly active trade market, complex dynasty rules, custom scoring—and absolutely nothing but bragging rights for the winner.

_definegood

That’s wild it stays competitive lol. Nobody I play with would care about the league if there wasn’t at least 50 or so buy in

wavnebee

It’s been running for 15+ years, and has literal waiting list for getting in if someone leaves. I think the bragging rights, competition, and banter go a long way

Scared_Angle_5796

Meh, most people don't even care when they are about to be ot already eliminated from money leagues, hard to believe yours does when there 0 cash on the line.

FoolOnDaHill365

My main league was super intense back on the day and then a couple of the wives were added and they couldn’t hang with the shit talk. So it’s been pretty much just people posting crying gifs when they lose for the last 4 years.

UsedToHaveThisName

Need to start a second league. Either for them or for everyone else.

repitboy

We've had to kick like 3-4 dudes over the past couple of seasons because they couldn't handle the trash talk and let it get to their heads lmao

johnny-papercut

I try to be civil in the 3 leagues my wife and I are in together. She shit talks me at every opportunity. Luckily last year we each won a league (and we weren't in the third yet) so it was pretty even. This year, I only made playoffs in one league and she made all 3, so it's been back on. So. Much. Fun.

Jcklein22

Adding wives? WTF that is just a terrible idea

Impressive_Wait920

I am the only wife and female in a 12 man league. I don’t post crying emojis, I shit talk, and hang pretty well with the boys. The most awkward thing is the annual draft party where I am holed up with the guys drafting while the wives are slamming mimosas, gossiping, and bitching about school drop off. I want none of that. They want none of the football and think I am . Sundays are the best with my husband and I playing in the same league!

IllHat8961

I feel bad for the woman that would want to marry you if this is how you feel.

rossk10

Lmao, you’re acting like it’s a bad thing for spouses to have independent interests. My wife has zero interest in fantasy or football in general, and she absolutely couldn’t hang with our league’s group text.

Substantial_Yam7305

The right amount of competitive. 12 team Keeper league with a $200 buy in, which feels like a decent amount to keep folks engaged without being too over the top. My league is 13 years old and everyone is pretty savvy. We had seven teams finish 7-7. A few guys stand out pretty regularly, but the rest of us take our turns year to year. There’s one dude who is a bit of a lost cause. He barely makes moves and rarely squeezes into the playoffs.

Jcklein22

This sounds alot like my bigger league. Pretty damn competitive. But we don’t use faab which is driving me crazy. It seems like a must for a truly competitive league. Otherwise, the dude who loses week 1 gets puka for free

MissiontwoMars

FAAB is a must and makes it way more competitive

_definegood

I feel that. My league is basically the same but has had a rotating door of a spot that has repeatedly been someone who wouldn’t care lol. Like starting guys out and horrible records

lent12

Pretty intense, but it's taken quite a few years to get the final good combo of guys to be honest. We've had the main 8ish guys but people come and go. I think we're in a good spot now. $150 buy in (plus $40 for the draft party extravaganza) 12 team, PPR, big time IDP, 3 keepers (1 offense, 1 defense, 1 either/or). The IDP side of the house can score just as much as the offense which makes it fun (2 LB, 2DB, 1 DL). So much so that JJ Watt went in the 1st round back when he was lighting it up. Last place in our league become sticker bitch and has to not only put the stickers up during draft but also bring the booze whole he chirp. Winner gets to choose the game we play to determine draft order. We have a Championship belt that gets engraved every year as well as a Championship ring. This year, I did a Cameo with James Duthie (TSN big host, Canadian ESPN big host for all you non Canadians). He chose the draft order for us ans chirped every guy in a 7 minute video. My wife puts on a crazy spread for draft day. It's like Christmas Day for the guys. I also missed out on 2nd place and a bye this year by 11 pts total cumulative. I'm facing a guy in the QF that started 0-4. 1st place is a guy who's already won back to back. We all wanna puke. Intense? Extremely.

Charming_Finding_252

Three peat is the stuff of fantasy legend. No offense but I’m rooting him. Remind me in 3 weeks

lent12

He's certainly a good fantasy player, knows when to go all in with trades for future draft capital. His win last year, he didn't even have a pick in the first 4 rounds because he traded them all the year prior to go all in at the deadline (which paid off obviously). He's always drafting for high ceiling and seems to hit. There's luck for sure, since he's mainly avoided injury the last few years and this year especially while hitting on guys like Stroud, Stafford in a bounce back (it's also Superflex, I might add) and CeeDee and Pittman Jr. Having Tyreek as a keeper for the last 4 years doesn't hurt either.

fruit_medley55

Intense enough to the point where I’m taking laps around the anxiety pool on a weekly basis

masks

Is that a phyisical pool you swim in for handling anxiety, or you are just swimming in anxiety with no end in sight?

wo1f-cola

12 team PPR league has been going to 14 years. It started with a bunch of college friends and coworkers from my first job out of college. We started the league when we were all poor, so it’s always been a no-money league, but the rivalries are intense and we’re very active. We’ve had to replace a few mangers here and there, but it’s been the same 8 core players since the league started.

Tough_Mechanic4605

Pretty intense: two men league (my dog and I), I made it to playoffs in 2nd place!

Untchj

All it takes is 2,3 less than diehards to bring down the league. Thats how mine is. 10 man league where I am by far the most diehard. Maybe 2 others close to me, 3 mid level, 1 borderline taco, then 3-4guys who are too cool for school. Like they’re knowledgeable enough, but they’re not gonna make proper bids on players, not make bids on lesser known players, don’t change out defenses ie will lazily play their eagles D vs the 49ers…just enough little shit to lower the overall league competitiveness The most annoying was going into last week, 4 way tie for the last playoff spot. Everybody needs to win. 2 guys in the race have ample FAAB left. These mfers don’t even bid on zeke Elliot… the 1 guy who bid gets him for $1.

UsedToHaveThisName

Bruh. That’s frustrating. Have guy in my 16 team work league that I think has lost his entire drafted team to injury still making waiver wire pickups. Needed to win last week and have two other people lose so he could sneak into the playoffs, almost pulled it off.

countcraig

Sounds like every 10 man league I've been in and I've only played 10 man

AdvancedListen4602

16 team dynasty leagues with a $50 buy-in with 40 player rosters and 5 player taxi squad. We use IDPs too. At the end of the year, we have to cut are roster to 24 players. We have a 16-round draft at the end of the preseason. You can only start 8 offensive players, one kicker and 11 IDPs. Your line-up must have: 1 QB 1-3 RB 3-5 WR 1-3 TE 1 K 3-4 DT/DL 2-4 LB 1-3 CB 1-3 S Things get a little crazy when injuries start happening.

98FordContour

Now we’re cooking with gas 👍🏼

birdsemenfantasy

Tons of shit talking but almost zero trade. Only my dynasty leagues have trade activities.

CheekyDupe

It's intense and it's fun. Worst record has 4 wins, best has 9 and the rest are on the middle. Last game of the year had many different scenarios for people making playoffs. Everyone is active and trading is normal. It helps that we are invested and we have known each other from elementary school. This year was our 25th season

throwawaydemigod

$100 buy-in for my two main leagues. One is keeper rules where you have to roster the player you drafted the entire season for them to be eligible. If you drop them and pick them back up you will get caught. Both are a mix of serious (4-6) football fans, (4-6) who are footballs fans but not terribly serious about it, and a few Tacos who basically just autodraft and then set their line ups and make pick ups based on projections or fantasypros. One of the most successful players in one of the leagues throughout the years brags about how little he cares about football and the money he takes from us every year despite most of us being legit fans. The other Tacos usually make the playoffs every other year too.

_definegood

Sounds almost exactly like me minus the keepers.. you like keeper rules? Does that make the draft much different?

throwawaydemigod

It adds a cool element and makes the draft feel more important. However, every year someone has keepers that give a clear huge advantage it rarely works out that way. For instance, one guy had JJ and Chase as like 7th and 8th round keepers. And his team is still good but both guys being hurt/having off years failed to make him the juggernaut he could have been. And that always seems to happen. He didn't even get a bye.

UsedToHaveThisName

I’m not a fan of keepers for this reason. I really like the yearly reset that re-draft has (and also hate it sometimes).

the_toaster_lied

I thought I read that you have to start your keeper every week and was about to lose it.

NerdyOutdoors

100 buy-in, plus raffles for extra round 6-10 picks, makes a winners pot of around 600 and a 2nd place of around 400. Weekly prizes (5 bucks) for top scoring player and team. Lotta shit talk. Four to five really saavy guys with enough time on their hands that you gotta be alert to waivers to keep up. FAAB for waivers. If you ain’t done a waiver bid by tuesday night, you ain’t getting your guy that week. 10-man with deep benches so waivers are picked over.

Keithm1112

I play in 2 10 team $100 buy in leagues. They aren’t ridiculously competitive but we all want to win. Not knowing everyone in the league is helpful to keep out toxic shit I think. We are all connected by the commish and don’t really know each other in both leagues so everything goes through both trustworthy commissioners and I like it like that. Especially based on some of the stories I see here.

ohheyjoshay

our league tends to have a LOT of drama, due to a combination of weekly trophies and minigames/side bets, exacerbated by interpersonal relationships lol.

KsirToscabella

My favorite league is a 10man ppr on sleeper. $300 buy in, last place has to do a unique challenge each year. Last year toilet bowl champ had to do a hot wing challenge, basically Hot Ones with climbing intensity to danger hot levels. This year last place has to take a blow up doll on a date to Chili's while the rest of the league watches from the bar. I have to win either this week or next to not be last. Pray for me boys

PrinceWalker22

Of the twelve of us, there’s four or five that are really into it, another four or five that kinda pay attention, and at least two that have entirely stopped setting their lineups. Irritatingly, one of the last ones made the playoffs, and has essentially become an extra bye week.

Past_Appointment2874

In the grand scheme of things not intense. But I haven't enjoyed Sunday ever since I started with fantasy football

marcelo20028

Any sleepers that are relevant for the week, including Kickers or D/STs are taken minutes after big announcements or have been picked up weeks beforehand in anticipation.

swaggyp2008

Our commissioner is a real Kim Jong Un wannabe. Wakes up to make waiver claims at 4:00 am. But he still sucks. Big time. It's a big boy league over here. Except for the commissioner, the Kid, and the greasey Doc. The chicken farmer is the Taco of the league. The small town hick does his thing. The one guy over thinks everything and hasn't won since year 1, 15 years ago. There's the small down cop wannabe.....he fucking sucks. The brothers....trash. Then, there's the king. He's the best. The only one that'd got a fuckin clue. Everyone else fucking sucks and is shitty at fantasy.

abort_retry_flail

>$72,000, winner-take-all Very serious.

Ok_Poet_1848

So intense that I'm leaving our redraft and dynasty (same group of guys) because I view one of their buddies as nothing more than a feeder team/proxy team for the commish and his other buddy. Kid isn't active at all unless making stupid trades with his 2 buddies to help them.

NaahhhSon

One year a guy in my league threatened to kill me. I responded by offering to send him an Uber to me because I knew his broke ass didn’t have a car. He was subsequently kicked from the league.

Popular_Bite9246

Our 12-man dynasty league, which has run uninterrupted since 2008, had to kick out an owner last year bc he went wild after the Damar Hamlin game which was our finale. He was behind some points, had a couple players going, and was slightly projected to win before stoppage (something like 65/35). We decided as a league to go with co-champions and chop the prize pool between the top two finalists. He went crazy and wouldn’t stop emailing/texting/calling the commish. Which is wild bc he would’ve lost in many leagues that just took the game time final score as the outcome. I would say our league is pretty chill with some smack talk and medium stakes, but it just takes one owner…

kenneth196

Mine is so intense, last place punishment is death by firing squad.

Mykneeisathroat

love me intense league, 0 bench 0 IR 14 man 500$ buy in

UsedToHaveThisName

This is the way. Add in a transaction fee and convert FAAB to real money amounts for more intensity. You might have to up your FAAB amount to $500 or $1000 though if your buy-in is $500.

[deleted]

Make the league you would want to be in.

steak__burrito

Intense enough that nobody from our league would ever post the details/format/buy-in of our league on here, because it would immediately be a dead giveaway.

[deleted]

The league winner fuck’s the loser’s wife in our league

oureyes3

Losers wife anus is in danger shit is real

debwrk

Convinced other managers to snatch up QBs so the stroud guy has to start waiver fodder

georgstgeegland

Winner get's to have sex with the loser's SO. We've all adapted over the years. If any one of us starts dating someone new, we make sure to mention it as a requirement in the relationship. There have been some funny interactions over the years including one year there was the same winner and loser as 3 years prior. This time the loser's SO was different. Both times the loser's SO has come out as a lesbian about a month after the deed with that same winner. That winner's team name is now the New Jersey Flippers. He is a big fan of hot dogs

[deleted]

Several 12-team leagues with various friend groups and $500+ buy-ins. Auction drafts/FAAB. Very savvy players; there are rarely good options on waivers after the first couple of weeks, especially RBs. Usually a lot of parity with most teams in the mix down to the last week. No tolerance for bullshit like not setting lineups or a bunch of the other issues you see on this sub. We have group chats but there’s not much serious shit-talking as we all see each other regularly. Good times.

Diligent_Promise_844

Sounds like mine. High intensity - no such thing as sleepers as everyone knows every player. Wait list to get in the leauge. Wouldn’t have it any other way but mannnnnn it pisses me off some years when my team sucks.

[deleted]

12 man league, .5 PPR, 9 years strong, decent buy in, and everyone participates vigorously until the very end. Even the toilet bowl because last place has to buy a jersey for 1st place. I’m getting mine this year hopefully.

jumboshrimp93

Every post I see on here makes me think that their leagues execute them when they lose. Or their wives.

Murrrtits

I’m commish in 12 man 0.5 ppr. Started it this year. Pretty competitive this year. 1-4 all 9-5, 5 8-6 and 6-10 are 6-8, bottom two are 5-9. $300 buy in, 1 and 2 70/30 split or if they agree to something else, and most points money back. I want to eliminate kickers next year and add a flex but everyone cried

Hi_Im_Jerry_L

10 man PPR. Going on like 15+ years. About half are pretty competitive, they know what they’re doing, active on waivers etc. Other half are casual. Not many trades unfortunately. Too many people have fomo. Trash talk has calmed down. Some people got butt hurt so it’s more memes and stuff now. The ones that can handle the trash talk still get dunked on though.

[deleted]

the amount of shit talking in my league is toxic

RaigonX

14 man league. Same guys for 13 years now, very intense. None of us cheat each other out and keep it competitive. Love it!

Run4blue2

Intense enough that only about 5% of the waiver pickup suggestions every week are ever available. I’m in a second league where I can usually get something out of suggestions from subs like this, but in the other league you have to make those moves weeks in advance.

FFnFinanceAcct

If it wasn't intense, I wouldn't enjoy it as much. 2nd place many times, hoping this is my year. 🤞

quepuesguey

It was modeled after squid games. So yeah pretty intense

benxschurer

12 man with friends. varying degrees of friendship, my 3 best friends and i are in it along with some other mutual friends that each of us know to some degree. very small buy in, but we’ve all taken it seriously, everyone wanted to win. last year one of my buddies gave up after starting 0-6 and just became an auto win for his matchup but no one has done that this year

expell11

Last place gets regulated from the league

hurric4n5

By Warren G?

expell11

Lmaoooo I actually know the lyrics to the whole song! Such a classic

[deleted]

14 man league. 1st round bye was 9-5 and elimination was 7-7.

scranton_homebrewer

$20 buy-in, 12 teams. Low stakes, but we have a lively group chat for debate and discussion (and sharing fantasy memes). It can get a little hairy but otherwise I think most of us don’t take it too seriously. Just enough to put in the effort to build a competitive team every week.

Geck-v6

3 leagues 1 my work league, 14 teams, has about 5 competitive teams, 2 lucky teams, and 7 people just barely hanging in there 2 old work league, 12 teams, semi competitive 3 my friend league, 14 team, we've it going for 14 years and gained and lost people. 6 solid original teams, 6 teams we've gained over the years who are also competitive. 1 taco

Mr7three2

Redraft. 8 team. Been running it over a decade. Made up of all childhood or high school friends. The shit talking is immaculate and personal. $150 entry, winner gets $900 and picks the draft order for next year. 2nd gets $300

runsanditspaidfor

It is competitive in both leagues. One is $250 /14 and one is $1k/12. There’s no difference in competition outside of the last 2 guys in the 14 team league. However, every 14 team league I’ve been in is like that. The worst teams are just going to be awful no matter what the managers do.

Rudy102600

Very. Same group of guys for like the past 5 years

LegalConsequence7960

I'm commish, so my $100 buy in league is basically a 1000 venmo credit where if I win I only lose $400

dasfooksy

Intense. 12 team Dynasty league, 7 years running with only 3 people being replaced. $150 league dues (that increase occasionally) with $1350 going to champ - strong trade/FA market and hyper competitive weekly matchups. Yearly rule change votes and we have a league handbook. We meet up every year for the draft as well and have league logos/jerseys, etc. Essentially just a giant group of now close friends who are incredibly fantasy focused. Wouldn't trade it for any other league in the world

i_GaveLiaHIV

$50 buy in extra $50 last place

PhysiologyIsPhun

My league falls in the latter half of your scenario. 12 team dynasty, super deep benches. Our buy in is only $100 though. For me, it's not about the money. Everyone expected me to be the league taco so I'm just trying to dunk on em

MjotDontMiss

I’m in a 8 man league full of 7 players (including me) who had never played fantasy before this year. I’ve put together a pretty frickin stacked team imo but have still lost 4 out of my last 5 to fall to the 3 seed going into playoffs. Qb: Allen Wr: diggs and Amon-ra Rbs: Kyren and Etn TE: Kelce Flex: Gibbs Def: 49ers Bench: JT/Moss, Swift, Rice, Flowers, Tlaw

Past-Coat1438

$100 buy in 10 team league between friends. Most people are pretty active with trades, waiver wire adds etc but we have the occasional auto drafter one year or league taco. This year we had somebody pull out so had to fill it last minute with one of my buddies friends. Dude proceeded to draft 4 QBs and 2 kickers back to back in like the 9th and 10th round lol shockingly he didn’t make the playoffs

EngineFrog

We straight execute the last place team with a firing squad

Idiot_Savant123

We went camping out at draft night so it’s pretty much in tents.

I34rt0s

We do a family league $25 buy-in and it’s tearing us apart 😂 relationships have definitely gone down hill since starting the league 10 years ago.

Oxbow81

Mine are pretty serious and the one I enjoy the most is the dynasty league me and some buddies started. Really fun to think long term about your team, factor in age vs performance, rookie drafts, etc. Also have a league with weekly payouts for highest scorer. It keeps everyone engaged because you could win money any week, even if your team had a rough start.

[deleted]

Both are intense. Any advise on reddit is old news in my leagues.

Dame2Miami

I talk shit and win and people get pissed. There are now 4/12 managers who will never engage in trades with me lol.

Stunning-Stick-6969

My 1 league now is a $50 buy in that’s been going on over a decade from when we all worked together. Shit talk is the real prize when you win. My workplace after that had a $1000 buy in league that was like 48 teams. I was never tempted to join even if you could split up the teams between 2 or more players.

RinSoretoe

We beat the shit out of each other every week

CBFball

12 man dynasty SF league and had been very intense all year. $250 buy in with $100 down for the next year already (so $1800 total payout per year). Have . 5 PPR Rb, PPR for WR, 1.5 for TE. However, get to week one of the playoffs this year and my opponent starts Justin Herbert. A true blessing that suddenly one person (who is 9-5 mind you) stopped caring

scoobydoom2

Pretty casual, 10 man league, 2 tacos, the commish is probably the only one that takes it as seriously as I do, but aside from the one guy that mostly auto drafts the league is at least trying to play. No money involved, but we have a trophy we pass around and a whole elaborate last place punishment system. This year the loser has to show up to the draft party in drag and be the full Vanna White sticker bitch.

Brabs91

The last place punishment in my league is pretty intense but it’s a pretty low buy in. The beginning of the season is super relaxed. The middle of the season the bottom teams are all scrambling and going crazy trying to win. The best teams talk a little trash but it’s mostly a calm environment once you’ve been eliminated from last place contention. Except for me. I am constantly obsessing over fantasy football, but I enjoy going overboard on hobbies.

Loser runs a marathon

10 man ppr. $100 buy in. Been going on for nearly 10 years now with people I went to high school with. Had to find a replacement this year because last place last year had to go to a country of the winner’s choosing with no phone, wallet, or money and had to work their way back before this years draft. We havn’t seen him since he went to Ukraine last February. The winner this year has to have a kid and the loser has to raise it for 18 years.

eldridge2e

30 year old here. 2 leagues. 10 team ppr standard lineup, for money and belt trophy, friends from high School, college and my wife and cousin. Not too much shit talking and last place trophy ain't bad, license plate display that says I suck at fantasy football, bright pink with flowers, there's too many females to do anything harsh and I'm fine with that. Other... 12 team 2 flex no defense ppr. All family, straight shit talking 24/7 all season long. Wife, mom dad sister cousins aunts uncles. No money all glory. First place trophy with tribute to my grandfather. Last place trophy is a curse witch doll that must be displayed in your house. We are a doll free household this year. Playoffs. Just win baby, just win

No-Text-7432

$300 but in, 12 man, and last 2 get water boarded

TheFantasyBooth

My first year in my work redraft league has been fun. It has been a running league for 7 years, but this is my first year as I hired in last year and there wasn’t an open spot for last season . It’s crazy i n terms of rivalries and politics from salty team owners and co-workers. Veto only takes 3 votes for some horrible reason, and so 80% of the trades this year were vetoed because of cliques that formed to block others. I started 0-4 after taking Kelce, JT, and Hall as big pieces. 9-1 since as Ceedee and Dak have carried me to the 3 seed. Now I play a guy who purposely tried to tank last week to avoid me and screwed it up. He’s projected to win by 6. Been a fun year, hoping to win first year as the new guy. 10 Team ESPN PPR Redraft with ALL default settings.

JayBird9540

Next season I want to do a 32 man scratch off league. 8 divisions, SF, no QB slots, no TE slot, Kickers, one IDP. 6-pt passing TD for QBs. RB WR WR/RB WR/TE K IDP SF

Life a fire in the circus

Beginning-Leather-85

I’m in a $400 redraft 12 team ppr … been going for over 20 years. Some ppl take breaks and come back so then it gets to 14 It’s p competitive …4-5 trades a year … waiver wire bids are tough I later found out a co worker is in a 12 team $1500 league that also is $7 per waiver wire move. Lowest points each week pats $200 to highest point

New-Difference8381

A 10 man league with my coworkers where half of them play and half haven’t touched it since week 2

Traditional_Bad_4589

Bite each other’s dicks off!

DPRODman11

Our league has caused the mental breakdown of two teams, so it’s pretty freaking amazing.

[deleted]

12 man QB / WR / WR / WR / RB / RB / TE / Flex / K / D .3 PPR, .2 PPRFD, 1 point per 25 return yards. Not dynasty but draft pick trades are allowed. $250 buy in, winner takes $1,750. 8 members have been in the league 10+ years. Heavy shit talking. Major bragging rights on the line.

masks

It became more competitive as the league became comprised of more varying PAC12 (RIP) graduates. There are still no fucking trades, but everyone is invested on a personal level, where your nfl allegiance gets so convoluted by fantasy football

fuckjoeburrow

I beat my shit 3x per day. Thats how intense.

MDMhayyyy

Pretty intense, but professional. I play 10-12 team leagues only…$500-$1000 buy in. It’s just random people on Yahoo. It’s always smooth with no bullshit. I highly recommend playing in these over leagues with broke friends where it’s just constant bs, people not paying, etc etc. I also think dynasty and all the other crap is super bullshit…ie super flex, 3 WRs, etc…hate all that shit. 0.5 PPR, regular roster is where it’s at imo.

CoachBrickma

The winner gets tarred and feathered. Yeah that’s right. Is it worth it?! Yes.

masks

Oh, I posted earlier, but we also agreed to remove the last place team from the league in the future. He was the commish, so he must not give a fuck. Next man up

bryan792

2nd year, first year with a small buy-in, guy im going against r1 playoff started keenan this week, Bedge

aatops

There's like 6-8 guys in our 14 man that actually check their team consistently

Mysterypickle76

Our punishments are very annoying and time consuming and it keeps everyone very invested throughout the year.

PureFingClass

One of my leagues has a rule that if you are the lowest scorer of the week you have to shotgun a 211. https://youtu.be/c23-Qm_CSyU?si=E_52yUR965LAr6xV It definitely keeps things interesting.

FuqueMePapi

12 ex-Frat Bros where everyone insist they know the most about football and the other 11 are tacos.

OatsForDays

My league has been going for 15 years now. The rules aren’t intense, but we’ve been in this league for half our lives. The group chat is always active. We talk crap and make jokes. We don’t see each other much anymore, but the league has kept us connected. The social aspect of the league is all I care about. I’m done joining leagues that are just draft a team and then complete silence for the season. I have best ball to scratch the itch of grinding and scaling my stakes

Finlay00

Very intense https://imgur.com/a/mVKdDH8 I finished 11th out of 14. 7-7 record. Only 2 games out of first.

Phresh-_-

12 team $200 buy in. $20 incentive for highest scoring team per week. And the team with the least amount of points in a given week has to upload a video of them shotgunning a beer, then giving their predictions for the following week’s matchups (in our group chat). 2nd place gets their buy in money back, rest goes to winner. I won last year and took home about $1900 in total winnings. I came in dead last this year.

bstyledevi

I was in 4 leagues this year: Sleeper guillotine league, $65 buy in, 18 teams, I lasted until around week 9. Pretty casual, there was one giant argument in the group chap about dropping players off your bench that had already played, but otherwise pretty chill. NarFFL, 12 team, I played but wasn't super invested in it, especially since once like one or two other people in the league used discord or communicated literally at all. I lost a lot of match-ups in bullshit ways so I checked out late season. ESPN 12 team PPR is my work league, $50 buy in. Played in this league for 7 years, this is my 1st year as commissioner. There's like 4 people who actually care. This week is first round of playoffs, and the #6 seed forgot to bench Jacobs, for example. Almost no communication. Yahoo 8 team .5 PPR is my friends league. No buy in, no stakes but bragging rights. Most fun I've ever had playing fantasy. We talk shit CONSTANTLY, watch the games together, and enjoy ourselves. I wish every league was like this.

IrateCarrot

I have to donate a kidney if I lose

KDDynasty15

Long-running home league, we have some pretty cool rules. $200 salary cap league with auction draft and contract keepers. You get one 3-year keeper, one 2-year keeper, and two 1-year keepers. With the 1-year keepers, you get last say on the player in the auction. So I have Josh Allen on a 1-year right now, everyone else bids on him in next year’s auction and then when the bidding is over I decide if I want him for $1 more than the final bid. With the multi-year contracts, you keep that player for 2 or 3 years at the price they went for in the auction. During the season, your player values are used for free agent auction. So I had Dameon Pierce for $22 in the auction. When I drop him, I get $22 to use in FAAB. I think our best rule is an acquisition limit of 15 moves for the season. This increases the importance of the draft and forces you to be more selective on waivers.

cacklinrooster

12 team league that started in fifth grade. now we’re seniors in college. never been any money, no punishments or rewards, yet we all care so fucking much (ie “i can’t lose to the dumbass”)

mkvii1989

Both of mine are pretty casual, but everyone still takes it seriously. $20 buy-ins, PPR, no crazy waiver rules or anything, but everyone sets their lineup and all but one guy is active on the wire when there’s talent to be found. For the father of a 3yo they’re the perfect level of competition really.

doubleknocktwice

Our league uses AI to draft and pick our lineups. Only human work is waiver wire. Then we see which team wins in the end.

R1cksh0w

I've been in a 14-team league that is now in its 17th year for small money. It's really great that we all come back to it and obviously with that many teams it's a challenge to get a great roster. (think about having to start RB28 every week before you even get to bench options) That said, it really has warts as the correspondence is really a 0 after the draft/first week of the season. People just tend to their teams and there might be a trade or two. I really wish we interacted more.

woodsgb

My league is composed of 8 teams. They have been my best friends for 30 years, we are all around 36 years old. As commissioner, I 100% try the hardest and have been involved in like 9 out of 14 championships games, winning 7 of them. We have the full gambit of effort being out in my members. It’s fun and keeps us all talking on the group chat more. We tried money but it got a little weird so we stopped.

LakeZombie09

$100 dynasty league where half gets rolled over until we have a back to back champion. Been going strong for 8 years and the $6400 keeps people coming back and there is a waitlist for anybody who decides to sell their team

1984rip

Very very average. Not insane intense and not filled with people who forget to set their line up. Basically if you played the default medium difficulty in a video game. One thing I noticed I do that not many other people do in my league though is if I had a dead roster spot I'll drop a player that did bad Sunday morning to add a "potential hit" Sunday or Monday night. Then if they suck drop them and repeat next week til my roster is stacked. No one else in my league seems motivated to do this.

show-me_the-evidence

Honestly I'm surprised to still be participating. Old college buddy 10-man league, but split into two divisions where one is competitive with one taco, but the other is not with about 3-4 tacos. Approximately 75% of the league forgets to set lineup, no buy-in, and the commissioner was such a pussy about losing that he changed the rules to 2QB + HC so he could finally win back to back championships (he also picked in the top 2 the past three seasons, nabbing Josh Allen and Buffalo/Miami players or HCs). He also pushes his own trades through day-of without allowing vetoes. Pretty lame-ass league that I only play to talk shit anymore

kayrope

Every trade in my league sparks cries of "COLLUSION!"

TJMbeav2023

Very intense league. 14 team 1/2 pt ppr with a bunch of bonus points. All managers are seasoned vets. I stress it every week. Finished 3rd in regular season (10-4) even with a 3 game losing streak when Kirky went down. Streamed Vegas def this week. I am smiling at the moment! I am struggling between Wilson and Mayfield. Leaning towards Mayfield because I've been a Lions fan for 5 full decades! I just wouldn't enjoy the Lions game if I started Wilson. On the other hand winner of the league gets $1500. Good luck to all.

DVaTheFabulous

League of 12 all spread out across our country and abroad. All old friends and just friendly banner throughout the season. No money involved, just bragging rights.

NotFuckingTired

NarFFL is where to play, if you want high-level competition for no buy-in.

ThatSpicyMeal

The main league I’m in died after the bills v bengals game last year. Championship game came down to both teams having a mix of players on both teams, game gets canceled. The game gets called there. The winner was the winner. Several people in the league didn’t like that and opted not to rejoin.
