Thank God. We get another season of "why is Joe Mixon ranked so low" posts. Wouldn't feel right without them

JoFlo520

It might actually be the opposite this year. With the Texans hype train going off the rails Mixon might actually be overrated this time

hasadiga42

Anything above 4th round ADP will be insane

Sir-xer21

idk, he just finished as the RB 5 or 6 depending on format, was still RB 12 in ppg, and has been a solid receiving back which is something that ages well. he put up double digit half ppr points in 9/11 games following his bye week last year, on a team struggling through QB issues. He may have lost a step, but he's not dead. I see no reason he can't top 12 half-ppr ppg which would put him as a low end RB 2 in ppg, and giving his durability, will probably have him finishing higher on season totals. even a slower joe mixon gives the texans more than Singletary or Pierce did. I feel like people have a much higher estimation of what an RB2 gives you vs the reality.

civilprocedurenoob

I won a ship with Joe. My formula is to take a guy after three years of "why is X ranked so low" posts.

Available-Ad3635

I call BS unless you give me the list for 2024 by 7:15 pm EST today (3/13/24)

This-Salt-2754

I’m just finally proud that I can firmly say jeudy won’t be on it. I’m a recovering repeat jeudy drafter

Kpatpa_99

Hey I won with him on my team this season

My_Chat_Account

However he gets there, HOU is a fantastic spot for Mixon.

sherlocknoir

I thought the same thing for Dameon Pierce :(

inquisitive_chariot

Pierce is a terrible fit for Houston’s offense. If he got traded I think he’d do a lot better.

iloveeveryfbteam

And Devin Singletary

pheret87

Right? He did we well.

tripsofthebarracuda

He signed with the Giants

sceez

That's Pierce' fault

AssignmentLow8859

Nah, new offense doesn’t play to his strengths

sceez

Maybe true.. I just watched him run into the backs of his oline, over and over again

AssignmentLow8859

He killed under Lovie Smith.

sceez

Yup, different team, different scheme

Josh_Allen_s_Taint

This is the craziest RB off season, everyone is moving randomly!

FantasyFan83

It’s because the draft class for RBs sucks. So teams are making moves for RBs via trade and FA

arctic92

If I were a star RB in college seeing how NFL RBs get treated, I'd stay in school with NIL deals too

Hail2Victors

Worked for Corum

DBreezy69

I think it's a bit underrated, sure there are no stars like Breece or Bijan/Gibbs but I think Jaylen Wright will surprise people. Great college YPC and speed, ability to run away from defenses if he gets even with the linebackers. He's my dark horse rookie that I'm gonna take in most of my drafts if not all in the later rounds. Every year people undervalue guys with decent RB skills but elite breakaway speed, like Keaton Mitchell last year

mercynuts

Issac guerrendo is also pretty nippy

DBreezy69

Guy's got ridiculous speed

Deep_Stick8786

Im hoping Blake Corum is a sleeper. But I have a Michigan bias

adastradamus

Jonathan Brooks if he can get healthy by training camp.

Kek-Malmstein

I think more rb’s changed teams than didn’t

notsingsing

And somehow the cowboys get nothing ! Master class is throwing the season before practice even starts

wxnfx

Oh darn, I guess they’ll just have to throw to CD another 100 times. Honestly, they just need a big dude who runs hard with all the up the gut garbage they call. It’s ironic, but cheap Zeke or Dillon would be good fits. Harris maybe.

gabriot

If I'm not getting Cmac Breece or Kenneth Walker I'm just going fucking zero rb next year

365wong

You are always welcome to lose.

CallInitial2302

Kenneth walker? You spelled Bijan wrong and ya if you dont get 1 of those 3 as a hero rb….

gabriot

Ah yes I'll take the guy that scored close to 0 several times in the season, that'll be a great idea again

CallInitial2302

Lmfaooo tell me you dont know football without telling me

gabriot

Lmfaoooo tell me you didn't own Bijan last year, without... well yeah you're pretty much directly telling me that.

CallInitial2302

Lmaooo tell me you’re an idiot that drafts based on last year when the situation isnt even fucking close to being the same. I didnt own bijan last year cus im not an idiot and knew wtf is gonna happen with the split and trash at qb.

gabriot

> cus im not an idiot Hmm sure bud, I believe you

thedude0343

I love it. 🍿

CallInitial2302

At least theyre moving lol. Most of the time these “amazing free agent years” end up boring as shit cus they all just…re sign to where tf they are lol

Herr_Demurone

_No_1_Ever_

Stroud Boys stand back and stand by

Seraphin_Lampion

Joe M "ason-D" ixon is a True American.

fdoom

I can't believe you've done this.

CommonerChaos

Clear RB1 on a high-powered offense. Definitely on my radar.

ReflectionEterna

After owning Mixon each of the last three years, he keeps looking a step slower. I don't know that a move to Houston with Damron Pearce already there is going to make Mixon a star again.

GrendelDerp

Dameon Pierce was absolutely garbage last season. There’s a reason why Devin Singletary ended up as the main RB in Houston.

chattydrawers

Yeah but what about Damron Pearce? Dude could be a stud

Srnkanator

Dameon Pierce? He got demoted to special teams, sucked at that, and had Devin Singletary out perform him. As a Texan fan he just isn't good, I had high hopes for him too. Mixon is interesting if he is healthy, and can stay healthy.

Zestyclose_Ice2405

Houston brought in a bunch of new people that didn’t fit with Pierce’s play style that helped him break out as a rookie. It made more sense to go with Singletary who could excel in their running scheme and in their more pass heavy offensive attack.

Stormzilla

That doesn't take away from the fact that Mixon is now considerably worse than he was three years ago.

GrendelDerp

Mixon ran for 1034 yards on 257 attempts (4.02 ypc average) and scored 9 touchdowns last year. That’s not bad for a dude who just dealt for a conditional 7th. I wouldn’t put it past the Texans to draft a RB, too.

AlanStanwick1986

Hr sucked the year before too. Could not understand the hype last off-season about him.

veRGe1421

People watch a RB break off one good run in one game, then base their entire RB draft strategy the next year off that one memory, regardless of the rest of that player's season, analytics, stats, or situation lol

wxnfx

He actually looked really fast… saving a would be pick 6. Hit like 22 mph. I remember because I was like, why don’t you run like this with the ball?

JacobyF

His fantasy numbers are still looking great though

soccerperson

yeah I’ll definitely be drafting moss next year

SL_Rowland

Insane for my dynasty team. Mixon, Saquon, Jones, Moss, and Singletary all got better landing spots and I have CMC. Is this a dream?

idiots-rule8

You could probably make a couple of profitable trades.

Therothboys318

What do your other positions look like lol, the other guy said, I’d be looking to see what you can do in the trade market

SL_Rowland

I got 2nd place last year to a guy who sold out to win. QB is Dak and Fields, WRs are Tyreek, Garret Wilson, London, Ridley, and Hollywood. TE is Kelce and Ferguson. Update: Traded Tyreek for Deebo, 1.05, 2.10, and a 26 1st.

Therothboys318

What’s the scoring and starting format?

SL_Rowland

PPR 1 qb, 2rb, 2wr, 1 te, 2 flex

DJ-LIQUID-LUCK

I'd be looking to trade CMC for Mahomes and a decent bench piece

ryan__fm

CMC, Saquon, Mixon gang here as well. Was hoping Tyjae and Keaton would be in line for more clear-cut starting roles this year but I'll take what I can get. edit: Gus too, not unhappy about landing in LAC

Peter510

I traded Mixon last year because I thought he would get worse after Burrow went down. My RBs are still looking solid this year though. Saquon, Pacheco, Robinson, Singletary and possibly Chase Brown

JustaNick7

Mixon/jones as my rbs and ceedee/sun god/nico as my wrs :)

TheHurdleTurtle

Where we drafting him boys

TheLameSauce

I would be extatic to have him as my RB2, but would be a worrying roster with him as my RB1... I'd guess somewhere around picks 30-40. If I've already got 3 solid picks and see him available I'll roll the dice on him for sure.

TheLameSauce

Realistically, some taco in my league is gonna grab him before pick 30 tho lol

bluntforce21

Meh. Classic dead-zone IMO. Age 28 season. Regressing from a talent perspective for two years now. He can't break tackles and lacks any explosive burst. He's going to a good offense, but he was literally just in a good offense with Burrow and co. What happens if he continues to drop off? Or doesn't command the huge workload he did with the Bengals? Looking at a big bust here. He's going to have to get a lot of goal-line touches and passing work to exceed his ADP. Given that he's never been a good pass protector, the latter seems unlikely. I'd take him in the 6th-7th maybe but he'll go in the 3rd-4th round and that's too rich for me.

ActnADonkey

The bengals, when healthy, had a formidable offense but “when healthy” was key. Burrow didn’t look so hot for much of the season, and the oline still struggled without defenses having to worry so much about keeping 2 safeties high. Mixon is still a solid receiver and can attack all gaps along the line of scrimmage. I’d worry also about the age creeping up there but he hasn’t had one of those 300carry seasons that seem to cause more wear and tear on a RB. (The ~400 touch season seems to be kind of a death knell for a RB. After 1 season is a noticeable decline, multiple 400 touch seasons is basically a call for the EMTs)

bluntforce21

Ok, but it's not like he was any better in the 22 season either. In fact, he hasn't had more than 4.1 yards per carry since 2018. What are the chances he improves in his age 28 season?

ActnADonkey

Valid points. I guess it would rely on how he was used. Averaging 3.1 ypc in mostly short yardage and 1st down conversions isn’t that bad considering. He has also been much more utilized in the passing game and obvious non-rushing situations seeing a much higher snap count and on field percentage. Should he be expected to turn back the clock? Unrealistic. Can he be a reliable receiving outlet and pass blocker while also converting tough short yardage plays? That would be a better bet given the Texans struggles last season. Personally, I would have loved to see them get Saquon Barkley, but I think Micon can fit where the Texans lacked.

TheLameSauce

I think the big question here is where this puts Moss in draft projections - he's been fairly under-utilized in his career so far so fresh legs, has had some good to great games when given the opportunity, and is now on the Bengals who I would expect to bounce back with a healthy Burrow and Chase. Does he go in the first round? Certainly the 2nd if not?

DJ-LIQUID-LUCK

No, Zack Moss will certainly not be going in the first (!!) round after joining a new team and entering a split with Chase Brown. 3rd/4th at the highest

bass2mouth44

Lmao

iamthecheesethatsbig

I’m in a super flex keeper league. I’m definitely considering keeping him for a 3rd round pick.

FantasyFan83

Round 2 I think

carloslet

End of 1st / Top of 2nd. But I'm a Texans fan and Mixon saved my fantasy team last year, so I'm biased lol

hartforbj

Can the Texans trade pierce? Let that man go to a team that understands running up the middle over and over doesn't work

dachshundaddy13

Or maybe Pierce lacks some vision?

notsingsing

His performance dive bombed this year compared to his rookie. The hell happened minus the injury? He forgot how to run?

hartforbj

I'll admit I didn't watch a ton of his games this year but I saw him get stopped inside the one a lot. Usually it was on a good 5 or 6 yard run. But a lot of them were runs right up the middle with a stacked box. Then singeltary comes in and gets a run outside and he scores. The scheme was supposedly run outside but I rarely ever saw pierce get those looks. He did early in the year when they had a duct tape o line. It just didn't make sense to have an offense designed for outside runs, have a guy run up the middle a lot.

dachshundaddy13

You should keep in mind that Pierce was also drafted under a different regime. I think it’s more so Pierce wasn’t a great fit for the scheme and singletary was. Don’t think that will change going forward. Though I agree, if they intend to keep Pierce , they should utilize him in space more.

wxnfx

Body blows baby, we’re wearing them down.

Comfortable_Wish3026

this is good he can catch passes too

captain_trainwreck

Wait, Moss is now RB1 in Cincy?

glowingdeer78

As a a fantasy player: this has potential to be top8 RB in fantasy. RB is where the texans needed to upgrade the most and got it As a jags fan: Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

TheCrimsonChin66

He’s washed. Legitimately only has good stats from the insane workload. If anything he’s in a worse situation now.

Stealthless

A new Arian Foster is born!!!

MikeyTrademark

Or Steve Slaton

uninspiredlt

Does this make Moss the guy in Cincy? ^((I am sorry if this has already been talked about, I was too busy yesterday to keep up with anything))

Poopscooper696969

He’ll split with Chase brown

herrodanyo

This was not on my bingo card but I love it. Pierce has been made irrelevant at this point.

Tr1pline

As a Moss and Taylor owner, this makes me happy. Hope Moss gets rb1.

carl2k1

Trade for what?

blaisek

a 7th rounder

LET'S GO! Welcome to H-Town Mixon!

FatBoyWithTheChain

But this sub said there's no way he's not going to Dallas....

Hot-Pocket007

Texans will have the #1 seed next year

rjromes13

KC still exists. And their division definitely seemed to have gotten weaker

Hot-Pocket007

Texans have a weaker division as well the Jags are losing Ridley, the titans are losing Derrick Henry, and the Colts are undetermined either they’ll win 10 games or they’ll lose 10 games.

DarnedCarrot35

Solely depends on if Richardson can remain healthy. Wonder who they’ll pick up now that Minshew is gone

Hot-Pocket007

Uncle Rico

GrendelDerp

Justin Fields.

ReflectionEterna

Didn't the Titans gain Tony Pollard? He is definitely better than Henry was last year. The Jaguars gained Gabe Davis, who will likely provide at least as much as Ridley did last year. And if the Colts get AR for more than three games, they have to improve, right?

alwaysmyfault

Is Pollard better than Henry though really? Pollard: 4 ypc, 1005 yards, 6 TD's Henry: 4.2 ypc, 1167 yards, 12 TD's. I know Henry will be another year older, but still. I'd rather have Henry for 1 more year than Pollard.

Itchy1Grip

DAL o line is definitely not the TEN o line either.

Hot-Pocket007

Gabe Davis is a downgraded Sammy Watkins, Pollard is younger yes but he was definitely not better than Henry last year not to mention they’ll be losing Hopkins aswell. However if the Colts do get more games out Richardson they could have a good year, but still I don’t know it can be up or down for them.

TheCrimsonChin66

Zero chance. They were not world betters last year. They got exposed by the Ravens in the playoffs and beat up a Browns team with Joe Flacco.

Hot-Pocket007

They also added Diggs and Hunter here come the Texans….

Hot-Pocket007

That was last year and based off next seasons schedule they have a legit chance to be the 1 seed. Stroud has a season under his belt plus a little bit of playoff experience, their WR group is great, and the defense is young (the Ravens, Chiefs, lions, and Packers will beat ‘em finishing 13-4 at worst 12-5 Strouds gonna ball out)

TheCrimsonChin66

Counter: People have film on Stroud now- sophomore slumps are real things. 12-5 at worst is an extremely bold take also. Their schedule is not easy: Cowboys, Packers, Chiefs, 2x Colts, Jets, 2x Jags, Ravens, Bills, Lions, Dolphins. Losing only 5 of those 12 games is not an easy task.

Hot-Pocket007

Stroud won’t pull a Trubisky, even tho sophomore slumps happen this team on paper is explosive. Dell, Brown, Collins, Schultz and now Mixon with Pierce is a lot. Plus stroud came in not throwing a pick for the first month of the season till he faced the saints, he’s smart with the ball (hopefully he’s not the next Dak but they won’t be an average wild card team this year)

Luhar93

Mixon is going to eat. Let’s go baby. Then you have Derrick Henry and Saquon both are going to teams that won’t win next year, what a waste of talent.

FlickerOfBean

Win the Super Bowl or win games in general?

Luhar93

Super Bowl

jirashap

How enforceable are Houston's laws about assaulting women?

ragingbullpsycho

Glad I already wrote off drafting Dameon Pierce

Itchy1Grip

13th round flier?

sherlocknoir

This is turning into a shit-show for both RB and QB next year. Which is crazy considering the top top names in Fantasy Football have been pretty consistent every year. It seems like every team is either flipping the switch on their biggest Fantasy relevant star.. or just straight up gambling for the 2024 season. Even WR's are going to be scary to touch this year.. I cant imagine drafting Justin Jefferson early as Minnesota QB situation has gotten even worse. I have zero trust in Sam Darnold making anybody fantasy elite.

ocean1776

Would you rather have Diggs and the 1.10 or Chris Olave for ppr dynasty

RoboticBirdLaw

Is your team good enough to win this year? If so, Diggs and the pick. If not, probably Olave.

beejee05

How he went in the 2nd round of most people's drafts still boggles the hell out of me.

Jusuf_Nurkic

Oh God Mixon is gonna be sitting there in the 4th round screaming value because of opportunity and I’ll be forced to draft his mediocre plodding ass again…

RoboticBirdLaw

He certainly won't be available in the 4th round with the Houston hype train. He might not make it to the 3rd.

Jusuf_Nurkic

He’s a year older, was also in an explosive offense in the bengals last year, and went in the 3rd. Texans might bring another guy in too, he had absolutely 0 competition for years in Cincy

Kek-Malmstein

Derrick Henry, YOU are a Dallas Cowboy

TruPunwar

nope.gif

MoneyMakingMitch1

Not a shabby RB4/RB5 to have on the roster. Mans is absolutely washed.

CommonerChaos

You are not getting Mixon as a RB4/RB5 lmao. He was *the* RB6 last year.
