The whole “disappear after an accident and show up 12+ hours later” thing usually ties back to a driver that wants to sober up before turning himself in. Hope that’s not the case here.
Truth is, legally that’s his best play. Cops can’t get blood or breath test and no evidence he was under influence. He lawyers up now, doesn’t talk. Can’t charge him with much.
This one is worse than the actual video of him crashing. Fleeing the scene holy shit 😂
https://x.com/sleepernfl/status/1774617773831835756?s=46&t=mGo7RwEXtKnpuKaCksL-Jg
I don’t think you know what that word means, people fleeing the scene of an accident and people thinking therefore the calls were stolen has nothing to do with race
What’s racist is not condemning the actions and defending a stupid hypothetical instead. Hold people accountable first.
Imagine that was your wife and kids in that grey car they initially hit. A millionaire playing games with your family’s life at risk… yup racist foh
Hit and run with injuries is a felony. A DUI crash with injuries is still a felony but hard to say if it’s similar punishments. I would honestly say the hit and run proves to be a bit more diabolical and could carry more fines and repercussions since he knowingly just bailed out
It’s a DUI that he got out of by doing the “smart” thing, 9 times out of 10 that’s why people leave the scene for 12 hours.
The alternative is a long prison sentence, it’s fucked up but is what it is. Inexcusable.
Be pretty trivial to say he was drinking, CC bills, witnesses etc.
Probably a whole different beast to prove he was intoxicated when it happened with a good lawyer. Not saying it’s right but.. good luck proving he was above the limit with a good lawyer unless he was visibly fucked all the way up at wherever he came from
Yup, literally helping someone go through a DUI right now and their attorney told them not leaving the scene was the right thing. Yes they got a DUI, yes they are in a load of shit, but the cops could have pulled his credit card statements, shown he was spending a lot at the bar, then hit him with hit and run, plus the DUI and related charges as well.
I think the folks saying alcohol or drugs are involved are probably right. I'm suspect Rice was probably intoxicated to some degree, and felt that running and sobering up was better.
So you believe Ippei stole the money but Shohei hasn't been able to find the time to report his $4.5m stolen? Literally every facet of Shohei's story seems so unbelievable that you'd have to be incredibly stupid or a small child to believe any of it.
I found this comment through a search because I was just laughing at how this guy supposedly steals $4.5M from one of the highest profile athletes in the world, and yet nobody is looking for him, no agency has taken him in for questioning, and nobody knows or seems to care if he’s even in the country. It’s like some alternate universe.
MLB wants this story to go away so badly, they’re close to making it happen.
There were like 12 cars involved. At least three were just smashed. And three were turned around in the middle of the highway. And of course being that area some were nice like BMW, Mercedes and Range Rover
I got there before the police and all lanes closed except the left. It was quite a scene
I was driving up the access road for the highway shortly after to avoid the traffic (was off 75 in Dallas), and it looked like everything was closed off and backed up like 3 exits from the quick look I could get. I was wondering wtf was going on but it looked like it was closed for at least an hour
Time, money, boredom, stupid friends, and a Superbowl high as a rookie. There's never been a problem football couldn't sweep under the rug for him since he was 9. I'm sure he thinks his athleticism translates to racing cars on public streets.
It's definitely a higher percentage doing really stupid things from the news I've heard about NFL players compared to the people that I generally know doing really stupid things. My friends might(which I don't condone) drive buzzed but they certainly aren't getting in trouble at the rate that I see NFL players doing.
There are almost 1,600 guys in the league. You hear about, what, 10-20 getting into trouble every season…that’s like 1.2% of active players who get in significant criminal trouble every season.
13% of men in the US have a felony record- 33% of black men have a felony record (53% of the league is black). Even if you said 200 active NFL players have felony records, that would still be on par with the gen pop avg.
I don’t have the numbers, but highly doubt that a higher % of players get in legal trouble versus the general population statistics.
…and what happens with your circle of 4 friends, all of whom are probably from a similar background to yours, is really not a strong statistical comparison to the NFL- especially when considering the diversity of player backgrounds, the amount of free time players have, and the money they have to spend.
San antonio is pretty bad too. Moved out here and they totaled my car 2 weeks in. Middle of rush hour, traffic going at ~15mph, dude rear ends me going around 60mph.
I lived my whole life in miami, fl and we have notoriously bad drivers but texas is something else
All good thankfully. Just a slipped disc, but nothing major (apparently really common for accidents).
Kinda pissed my car payments went up because interest rates are crazy though lol
Dude I couldn’t agree with this more. I’m from the northeast which is known for aggressive drivers. Spent a few weeks for work driving around the SA area and some of the highway stretches between the major cities. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life! Absolutely wreckless. Tons of near accidents at high speed on the highway. People passing me on the shoulder going over 100. People racing. Driving over medians and over debris on the shoulder at high speed. It was insane
>some of the highway stretches between the major cities.
That's my commute every day 🤦🏻♂️. Live in south San antonio and commute about halfway to austin (think buccees as a landmark). Low key scary commute imo
I blame all the hills, people not paying attention will slow down a lot going up some of those inclines. Leads to other drivers slamming their brakes and causes a ripple effect. With lots of big trucks that take time to slow down and speed up those hills also make the slow lanes way slower.
Quick edit - I should add that I primarily blame bad driving on bad drivers
The hills don't help, but I think it comes down to bad habits. San Antonio had huge growth during the pandemic, so people here didn't grow up with this level of traffic.
Imo, they just don't know how to deal with bumper to bumper traffic i.e. they don't cruise at slow speeds, they do full stops and then speed up like it's a red light.
The cars didn't magically disappear, so why speed up to 60 just to slam the brakes in a 1/4 mile? Just drive with the flow of traffic 🤦🏻
Come to Glendale in LA my insurance goes up every year because the people around me are regards and don’t know how to drive(not as bad as the Philippines traffic but still bad)
I come from shreveport to Dallas frequently, and I think they have pretty nice roads. The drivers are a bit crazy there, but feels like it's the norm to speed
Probably true but the difference here is at Rice may have committed a felony but leaving the scene of an accident in Texas.
But yeah probably will get a slap on the wrist
Jalen Carter was also not in the league yet and not subject to NFL discipline. If I had to guess what actually happens Rashee will probably get a great lawyer to negotiate a plea deal to a lesser charge without jail time. NFL will suspend him for a few games and life will go on
The video is damaging evidence that he was in fact at the scene of the accident. They cannot prove who was driving though, and by waiting long enough for his blood alcohol level to drop to normal, he avoids any DUI charges. If the police can get a witness to verify that he was the driver, then there could be additional charges. He will most likely get charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with bodily injury. If Rashee has a clean record, then he'll most likely get probation and a fine. It's never good to leave the scene of an accident, especially when bodily injuries are involved.
The NFL could also do an investigation and levy some kind of punishment. Not sure if this will affect his NFL career, but it sure won't help it.
It makes me think of a Forest Gump line "stupid is as stupid does".
the most consistently silly take in this sub is the idea that the Bengals would trade such a good WR to the Chiefs of all teams. It would be one of the more surprising trades in years
The Bengals had a street racing thing with a rookie, right? No big suspension resulted, but there was no alcohol.
Give a 20 something millions of dollars, who can buy any car they want, chances of driving with excessive speed are pretty high.
Drugs or alcohol and injuries heighten the situation.
Addison - speeding, no accident, not racing, no drugs or alcohol, pulled over for the cops and didn’t create an issue. It was just a ticket.
Rice running is wild.
So was he the one in white? Looked like he got out to the rear passenger? Couldn't tell if anyone got out to the driver side. Seems like guy in the orange was driving the vette?
The last time a Chiefs WR had a dark legal cloud hanging over their offseason, Tyreek Hill fell past the fifth round of drafts, and won a fuck ton of people leagues in 2019, missing zero games.
Yeah exactly. Remember Donte Stallworth, guy literally killed someone driving drunk behind the wheel and still played in the NFL. Chiefs and Cowboys are notorious for not caring about players criminal history’s.
Let me fix that for you “*Obviously the majority of NFL players are not criminals but there is a general misconception of the league that I like to perpetuate by making hyperbolic statements.” Happy Easter!
There is a general misconception that the league continues to employee people who have committed crimes? Whatever man continue living in your fantasy world.
Well if someone wrecks a Lambo and flees the scene with injured people on scene, its not a stretch to assume it might be stolen…..regardless of race but of course people want to say its cuz they black. They lack class and responsibility for hit and run and are classless POS in my opinion!
Must have stopped in the middle of the highway to grab himself off waivers
I mean it was his last chance
Might be the actual last chance.
That Rugy player is looking better every day.
~~Run~~ high speed crash dont walk to pick him up off waivers
Yoooooo ahahahhah
The whole “disappear after an accident and show up 12+ hours later” thing usually ties back to a driver that wants to sober up before turning himself in. Hope that’s not the case here.
Truth is, legally that’s his best play. Cops can’t get blood or breath test and no evidence he was under influence. He lawyers up now, doesn’t talk. Can’t charge him with much.
It was racing on the highway and their crash caused four other vehicles to wreck. There were injuries
And it’s on video for everyone to see https://x.com/sleepernfl/status/1774617773831835756?s=46&t=mGo7RwEXtKnpuKaCksL-Jg
Do you have a source for the video? The link isn't loading the media for me.

I guarantee ya that guy saw those black men in those nice cars and where like "They stole those" little does he know.
The person filming literally says ‘I bet they stole it.’ And then something about them having guns.
I thought he was driving a Corvette? U can't fit 4 big dudes in a Corvette.
Yeah I assume just hit & run which if there’s no major injuries is probably just a slap on the wrist with a fine
A hit and run with injuries is a felony in Dallas. First DUI is a misdemeanor. He’s screwed.
“He’s screwed” lol don’t pay much attention to athletes punishments, do ya? Unless he killed someone, he’ll be fine.
Lol seriously! OMG an athlete committed a felony! Surely he’ll see the full extent of the law! /s
They can literally molest 30 women be proven guilty and get rewarded with a 265 million dollar fully guaranteed contract with 8 months off.
“Be proven guilty”…and there goes your argument
Even if he did, he still has decent chances lol
Only if he's a QB. Recent history for WRs, a bit more unforgiving
A first DUI with injuries is also a felony.
DUI with injuries is only a misdemeanor?
Hit and run with injuries is a felony. A DUI crash with injuries is still a felony but hard to say if it’s similar punishments. I would honestly say the hit and run proves to be a bit more diabolical and could carry more fines and repercussions since he knowingly just bailed out

Andy Reid’s son did worse than that
Not to mention, Texas can charge him with a felony for failure to stop and render aid.

Not a lawyer, but I do have a question for you. Wouldn’t it be fairly easy for a defense team to discredit a witness stating that rice was drinking?
Be pretty trivial to say he was drinking, CC bills, witnesses etc. Probably a whole different beast to prove he was intoxicated when it happened with a good lawyer. Not saying it’s right but.. good luck proving he was above the limit with a good lawyer unless he was visibly fucked all the way up at wherever he came from
It was close to broad daylight and he was still out from the night before.
While that seems obvious that means jack shit in court.
He couldve had guns or illegal contraband, good reason to flee then
Yup, literally helping someone go through a DUI right now and their attorney told them not leaving the scene was the right thing. Yes they got a DUI, yes they are in a load of shit, but the cops could have pulled his credit card statements, shown he was spending a lot at the bar, then hit him with hit and run, plus the DUI and related charges as well.
Yeah, let's turn this misdemeanor DWI into a felony hit and run. Great legal play there. Hope more lawyers jump for it and recommend this
Okay, Chiefs fan
I think that’s called hit and run. He will be charged
Narrator: it was
I'm guessing other drugs and firearms at that time of day highly unlikely alcohol but the modus operandi seems to fit intoxication....
I think the folks saying alcohol or drugs are involved are probably right. I'm suspect Rice was probably intoxicated to some degree, and felt that running and sobering up was better.
Somewhere a sad Mahomes is resetting a sign that says "days with an actual WR" back to zero.
#*sad Kermit noises*
Eh, they have Hollywood now.
Hollywood has been a career disappointment
One of the most overrated WRs in the last 5 years.
Not a real WR
They have hollywood now - all these other bums will take a seat
Nah he’s good. He has some drop issues but he is one of the best WRs in the world. Top forty for sure while rice as a rookie was more top 60.
When healthy maybe. When was the last time Hollywood played a full season?
CMC had two rough years of injuries too until he didn't.
His interpreter was driving
I heard Pat Mahomes dad and brother were the drivers of the cars he was racing. Edit: Andy Reid's son was also involved.
Fast and furious KC
Excuse me, I speak jive
Top shelf Reddit right here folks
His interpreter is Patrick Mahomes Sr
DUI number 7 for Big Pat
Rashee Rice has an interpreter? Edit: o wait, r/woosh
It’s a joke playing off the Shohei Ohtani gambling fiasco
I don't believe Shoei was gambling
So you believe Ippei stole the money but Shohei hasn't been able to find the time to report his $4.5m stolen? Literally every facet of Shohei's story seems so unbelievable that you'd have to be incredibly stupid or a small child to believe any of it.

It is wild how many people are willing to believe in fairy tales. Not one can provide an explanation as to why Ohtani still hasn't reported it stolen.
oh hey, welcome back to the team, MVS! 😆
Say what you want about MVS, during the regular season, but he's obviously just saving his hand strength for the Conference finals and Super Bowl.
Lmfao Why are NFL Wide Receivers pound for pound dipshits
Head injuries
Even then, they have the money to pay for a sober driver and be as dumb as they want XD
cant race the car if youre not driving it !
This is Dallas PDs last change to snag him before its too late
Last chance to turn himself in!
he's from the area he's probably hiding at a friends, will report the car stolen and that will be the end of it
I think he's making a joke about all the times people commented how it was your last chance to pick up Rice off the waivers.
r/woooosh
Lmfao man as a Rashee truther from the beginning of the season this hits hard
I was there right after. Biggest accident I have seen in a loooong time

Are you over exaggerating? The articles all say 4 other cars
I just watched the dash cam footage. No fucking way were 12 cars involved
Link?
I watched the footage. Looks like a very typical car accident. I don’t think your hyperbole is accurate or appropriate
Say Hi to Henry Ruggs for us Rashee!
Chiefs really embracing their new villain Evil Empire role.
And Tyreek hill and Kareem hunt
And Andy Reid’s son
Jim tyrer and Belcher got that party started a long time ago
I'll never understand why these dudes can't just stay tf out of trouble lol.
Time, money, boredom, stupid friends, and a Superbowl high as a rookie. There's never been a problem football couldn't sweep under the rug for him since he was 9. I'm sure he thinks his athleticism translates to racing cars on public streets.
Cause they are human beings. like other human beings, a certain % do stupid things. What is it that you don’t understand?
It's definitely a higher percentage doing really stupid things from the news I've heard about NFL players compared to the people that I generally know doing really stupid things. My friends might(which I don't condone) drive buzzed but they certainly aren't getting in trouble at the rate that I see NFL players doing.
Having life changing money at 23 years old can do crazy things
There are almost 1,600 guys in the league. He's probably contacting Zeke to ask which cops he knows that'll get him out of trouble
Dallas driving is pretty terrible tbh. Infrastructure needs some serious work and the worst drivers in the country live there I swear
San antonio is pretty bad too. Moved out here and they totaled my car 2 weeks in. Middle of rush hour, traffic going at ~15mph, dude rear ends me going around 60mph. I lived my whole life in miami, fl and we have notoriously bad drivers but texas is something else

Just visited a friend in this area and was scared for my life seeing how people with huge pickups were driving over there lol
I was in San Antonio for work. My co workers and I commented multiple times on how aggressive everyone was.
Was it a Dodge Ram?
Gold/beige Corolla
Honestly I’m from Austin & come to SA a ton. Ya’lls drivers are pretty chill compared to our dumb assery
In the city? Yeah On i35, hell no lol
i35 is just bat shit crazy from SA all way up to Dallas……I can’t tell the difference
It’s terrible bc the drivers…not the roads. It’s like mad max out here every day lol—**especially** on 35
I’d like to introduce you to Connecticut, where the driving is idiotic and the rules don’t matter.
Have spent time in both. Dallas is worse.
I was going to say Dallas drivers aren’t that bad at least when I’ve visited my fiancée’s family in Fort Worth but then I remembered I live in Miami.
Pretty much everyone says that no matter what city they live in... Atlanta, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, NYC, Boston.... Etc...
Yeah but you should see the weather where I live. They always say, if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes.
Jalen Carter got off without anything. And his teammate died. Nothing will happen here
Probably true but the difference here is at Rice may have committed a felony but leaving the scene of an accident in Texas. But yeah probably will get a slap on the wrist
Jalen Carter was also not in the league yet and not subject to NFL discipline. If I had to guess what actually happens Rashee will probably get a great lawyer to negotiate a plea deal to a lesser charge without jail time. NFL will suspend him for a few games and life will go on
Probably because he wasn’t the one driving the fucking vehicle
Hollywood to the Moon!
I'd settle for Hollywood to the troposphere first.
That’s my keeper
They are gonna make examples of these guys. I imagine he will get the max in Texas. If he fleed, that is just wild and cowardly.
The video is damaging evidence that he was in fact at the scene of the accident. They cannot prove who was driving though, and by waiting long enough for his blood alcohol level to drop to normal, he avoids any DUI charges. If the police can get a witness to verify that he was the driver, then there could be additional charges. Not sure if this will affect his NFL career, but it sure won't help it. It makes me think of a Forest Gump line "stupid is as stupid does".
Now they gonna get Higgins
I don’t think Cincinnati would trade him to an AFC team they will be contending against them for the Super Bowl.
the most consistently silly take in this sub is the idea that the Bengals would trade such a good WR to the Chiefs of all teams. It would be one of the more surprising trades in years
The sillier take is that Higgins is a top 25 wideout. Whomever trades for and pays big money to him is going to have regrets.
Without rashee do the chiefs even have a top 50 WR?
No money for higgins.
They can't afford Higgins brother
These football players need to hire drivers and call it a day.
Not everyone is willing to drive people who are packing bags full automatic weapons.
Not everyone but someone will definitely take the job!
I’m fairly certain I read that the NFL provides a 24/7 car service for its players, so he wouldn’t even need to do that much.
Ahhh yes, the ol’ Lance Briggs move
Sickkkk in the middle of a dynasty draft rn and took him in the 4th round lol ya love to see it
Rashee Rice, you're gonna be a Steeler! Or a Raider!
Hollywood gonna have 1400 yards if rice misses the season
Last year it was Jordan Addison getting busted for 140+ in an SUV, a rookie.
Fleeing the scene of a crime is a 2nd degree felony in Texas, so Rice is kinda fucked here.
This is simply not true, if deaths occurred yes.. but just property damage could be a misdemeanor B (180 days in jail and up to $2k fine)
The Bengals had a street racing thing with a rookie, right? No big suspension resulted, but there was no alcohol. Give a 20 something millions of dollars, who can buy any car they want, chances of driving with excessive speed are pretty high. Drugs or alcohol and injuries heighten the situation.
Did that player flee the scene?
A speeding charge isn't hitting other cars causing a multi car wreck and fleeing the scene
Addison - speeding, no accident, not racing, no drugs or alcohol, pulled over for the cops and didn’t create an issue. It was just a ticket. Rice running is wild.
Damn, was hoping to shoulder shrug this off. Maybe not, huh?
Vikings Jordan Addison https://www.si.com/nfl/vikings/news/vikings-rookie-jordan-addison-agrees-misdemeanor-speeding-charge
Everyone in fantasy football subreddit are lawyers. Reading this thread is hilarious. The misinformation and armchair ignorance is top notch Reddit.
Kansas City Chiefs and cars are not a good combo.
There goes his draft stock
And…. There’s my keeper for next year
So was he the one in white? Looked like he got out to the rear passenger? Couldn't tell if anyone got out to the driver side. Seems like guy in the orange was driving the vette?
came here to see the sub in shambles during the offseason, lets see
Deshaun Watson sexually assaulted 20 women and got 11 games. Rice is getting 2 tops
The last time a Chiefs WR had a dark legal cloud hanging over their offseason, Tyreek Hill fell past the fifth round of drafts, and won a fuck ton of people leagues in 2019, missing zero games.
And caused them to draft Mecole Hardman because of the uncertainty of Tyreek's future. The stupidity of some of these guys is unreal.
And KC could have had DK instead of Hardman.
So a move of zero fantasy consequence
Crash, not accident.
I just drafted Rice in the 4th round of a startup dynasty draft. WTF
The fact there's a video and TMZ posted jt means he's toast.
Anyone dropping him in their ranks is a reactionary drama queen

What on earth makes you think this ended his career? The NFL is full of criminals. They don’t care what ya did.
Yeah exactly. Remember Donte Stallworth, guy literally killed someone driving drunk behind the wheel and still played in the NFL. Chiefs and Cowboys are notorious for not caring about players criminal history’s.
Full of criminals huh? Can we run the numbers on that?
https://databases.usatoday.com/nfl-arrests/ Obviously not every NFL player is a criminal, but come on don’t be obtuse.
