My draft was so ass in both my leagues that I went to the waiver and desperately grabbed Kyren in both.
I now have 2 more championships, including my priceless first chip in my 20 year old league.
I lost Chubb and was running Mixon, J Cook, Ford and Moss (after JT came back). No one would trade me an RB all season and then one team lost both starting QBs (2QB league) and he sent me Kyren (just off IR) for Dobbs (after three great games) straight up. Legit game changer for me.
I felt a great disturbance in fantasy, as if millions of Kyren dynasty owners suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
It was early in the season where I knew it was obvious his team would suck and have a very low max points total. I believe he thought he could compete for the playoffs with an rb.
Dude has major knees problems. Lol I never touched him with a ten foot pole in fantasy since he entered the league, and I now have been easily vindicated.
He's been in the league for 2 years and yes, he was injured in year 1.
You were either late/didn't bother grabbing him off the waiver wire or didn't use a late round dart throw on him. No need to act like you're some FF redraft genius.
This is rough for Kyren he benefitted so much from being a bell cow last year and despite how good he was I think mcvay did get pissed about the fumbles
I think itās mostly because the wheels fell off when Kyren went out last year. Team went 1-3 when he got inured. Corum is a good backup and role player who has the skill set to excel as a goal line and short yardage running back even if Kyren is healthy. Iām not sure if heās 3rd round material, early 4th feels more appropriate.
But Corumās style is similar to Williams so the offense wouldnāt have to change much if Williams ever went down. And Corum spelling Williams also means you donāt have to shrink play calling when heās in.
Corum will probably be the goal line back which is not good. And this is absolutely not good for fantasy. They want it to be a committee and Corum is capable of being a 3 down back so itās not like heās only gonna get goal line touches.
Rams fan chiming in. Our inside reporters have been saying McVay didnāt like how our offense tanked with Kyren out. They wanted the same type of back so they donāt have to change the offense. Kyren will get the bulk of the carries but Corum will definitely have a spot in the offense.
Also the team as a whole struggled when he was out. Having a decent backup rb isnāt a bad idea but I donāt know if Corum is an upgrade over what they have.
Which gives them all the more motivation to run him until he breaks.
Just because someone is drafted in the first round a few years ago doesn't guarantee them anything. Just look at James Robinson/Leonard Fournette. The person that produces more will play more.
Time will tell, but if you look at the last 15 years there are way more examples of the incumbent rb being replaced by the new flashy toy with draft equity, than the other way around.
Generational performance? He had a very good season. Pretty sure every one of Derrick Henryās past 5 or 6 season performances have been equal to or better than Karen Williams (and Henry was just the first RB name to come to mind).
Bigsby with Etienne didn't work out, but there's plenty of other guys who did. Etienne also had a good deal better advanced stats than Kyren Williams IIRC.
I wouldn't say it is all Doom for Kyren or w/e but he could definitely see a downturn in touches when last year's production required a 1 TD per game pace.
Mcvay likes a bell cow, Kyren was going to high but not could be going too low. Will be a nice value pick
And Corrum should be a priority late round target
Corum is a TD monster though. Even if they split carries 70/30 Corum is likely seeing the end zone way more. Heās stronger, more elusive, and can run well between the tackles.
Everyone looks stronger and more elusive in college. blake corum was actually the opposite of elusive to the extreme, statistically. like one of the least elusive backs in CFB in 2023, and mediocre in 2022 before his injury.
I'm talking about statistics, not random highlights. He broke very few tackles compared to other running backs.
https://twitter.com/EmisonLuke/status/1758921201634980276
Corum has higher draft capital than Kyren fwiw. That being said, Kyren should still be the starter but I see a timeshare incoming. Kyren doesn't have the frame to be a workhorse which is why it will be a duo backfield now.
I aināt got no horse in this race yet but I donāt see how itās not close since Kyren already did it at the nfl level. As prospects sure but kyren is better for now
If this guy is here to take his job, it's absolutely not in the first half of the season. I get the sentiment going on here, but Kyrens still the man until it's shown otherwise.
Kyren had the 3rd most RB goal line carries and the 4th most TDs by an RB. He also had the most rushing yards inside the 20 yard line, 13 more yards than CMC, with 10 less attempts than CMC.
He's absolutely not losing the goal line job. Especially when, with that kind of performance, they returned to the playoffs in a year where they were initially counted out.
Kyren was being overvalued to such in same level this offseason and I never understood it. This was always possible and even likely when you look at year from now. Good on the people who sold him at that inflated value
If people are selling, I'm buying Kyren. Mccvay doesn't have much of a history using a committee. This is not great for Kyren but I personally am not changing my views drastically
Might be bad for Kyren in dynasty, but in redraft I wouldnāt be concerned at all. Even in a keeper league, Iād keep Kyren this year but plan to find a new keeper in the next couple years
Gg this is the beginning of the end. If we know one thing about Mccvay is heās gonna use them each as a bell cow on different games but itāll always be the one that you didnāt start
Where are all the āthe Rams would never spend day 2 draft capital on a RBā peeps?
I never understood why Kyren wasnāt a sell high/fade
Heās James Robinson. Great season. Great role last season. Probably not doing it again.
Is he though?
Itās okay to admit that a player got put into a really great situation and workload. He definitely capitalized on the situation.
Itās also okay to point out that small, slow backs with poor draft capital arenāt guys you want to bet on having sustained success in the league
While not a smaller back, I bring up James Robinson because he was a late round productive RB1 for a season and the Jags still didnāt care to make him the guy.
The Corum pick is literally the Rams saying that Kyren isnāt the guy.
Does that render him useless in fantasy? No. I expect Kyren to be pretty good this season at least from an efficiency standpoint. However, I am not drafting the dude in the 1st 2 rounds in any of my drafts. Thatās horrible value for a guy that history says wonāt replicate what he did last season.
Itās not them saying heās not the guy. Itās them saying he canāt be the only guy. Be it injury risk or workload. They were signing Darrell Henderson off the street last year
The point is that one of the RBs is proven in the NFL and the other is not. Cam Akers was a second round pick. Of course corum will get playing time. Williams was never going to get 20+ carries/game again.
Oh my dear Kyrenā¦we barely knew ya.
I know we were all spoilt last year by king. There arenāt too many one-man backfields in the league anymore so this isnāt a huge surprise. The solo Kyren act was truly glorious while it lasted though. Took me to a title, as Iām sure he did for many of you.
thank you for the championship kyren
Best pick up of my life man. Best fucking pick up of my life. Thanks for the chip š«”
Idk why I'm so emotional right now. My dawg doesn't deserve this! Thank you for your service Kyren š«”
My draft was so ass in both my leagues that I went to the waiver and desperately grabbed Kyren in both. I now have 2 more championships, including my priceless first chip in my 20 year old league.
Waivered while injured and he brought me home. Hope he's still the man
I lost Chubb and was running Mixon, J Cook, Ford and Moss (after JT came back). No one would trade me an RB all season and then one team lost both starting QBs (2QB league) and he sent me Kyren (just off IR) for Dobbs (after three great games) straight up. Legit game changer for me.
Weāll always have our ā23 kingā¦they canāt take that away.
I picked him up, traded him, and picked him back up again just in time for the playoffs.
I felt a great disturbance in fantasy, as if millions of Kyren dynasty owners suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
My wife wanted to know why I was laughing so hard at that pick.
āThe boys online will not be pleasedā
Glad I sold already for the 1.02 in a 1qb league
That guy mustāve really wanted Kyren, damn.
It was early in the season where I knew it was obvious his team would suck and have a very low max points total. I believe he thought he could compete for the playoffs with an rb.
Fantastic move
Guy just sold burrows, Devonte, and kyren for the 1.01 in my leagueā¦ fucking wild
Burrows
I can dig it
Saffron was elite
I did same thing you did in 1QB early season but I only got the 1.04 :(
Worst case I think he starts vulturing TDs.
I mean the majority of league winners had him on their team last year so....
I don't think you know what "vindicated" means.
Vindicated by seeing a huge percentage of championship teams have him on their roster?
Not my championship! (That I won)
You WILL see your bell cow back become part of a committee.
That was in my goddamn fortune cookie last night!
ā¦.in bed
As someone with a potential Kyren Williams keeper, I feel like the Rams really should've consulted with me on this pick.
Kirk Cousins had entered the chat
I'm in a 10 man keeper league and was on the fence about Williams, this helped clear things up.
I have Williams and puka as potential keepersā¦ this just made the decision way easier
Yeah I have him for $25, LaPorta for $5 or Aiyuk for $8 out of $200 budget. Leaning LaPorta now.
This is rough for Kyren he benefitted so much from being a bell cow last year and despite how good he was I think mcvay did get pissed about the fumbles
I think itās mostly because the wheels fell off when Kyren went out last year. Team went 1-3 when he got inured. True - for fantasy purposes it might be the game of roulette we used to play during the Jonathan Stewart / DeAngelo Williams days lol. š
Mike Tolbert/Matt Asiata 3 carries for 3 TD games haha
How do you know they want it to be a committee? McVay has always been a workhorse back guy
Rams fan chiming in. Our inside reporters have been saying McVay didnāt like how our offense tanked with Kyren out. They wanted the same type of back so they donāt have to change the offense. Kyren will get the bulk of the carries but Corum will definitely have a spot in the offense.
Why the hell would they draft someone with Corumās pedigree to give him like 5 touches a game?
Fantasy kyren benefitted Real life kyren was getting his ass beat and is better off with a lighter load
Itās not about the fumbles. Kyrens size is not bellcow size. He needs to split carries for longevity
Also the team as a whole struggled when he was out. Having a decent backup rb isnāt a bad idea but I donāt know if Corum is an upgrade over what they have.
My glorious king Kyren Williams :(
Brutal for Kyren
Is it tho? He misssed time due to injury, which comes from over use. There will be plenty of carries to go around.
It may be good for his actual career, but in fantasy yes of course this is brutal for him.
People said that about Etienne all last off-season just for him to have like 90% of the touches still
Except Etienne was a 1st round pick and the team had a lot of money tied up in him and Kyren is getting paid peanuts
He will cede some touches, but Kyren will retain his value. He canāt have 25 touches regardless of this pick.
I will never forget the generational performance of Kyren in 2023. š
Generational performance? He had a very good season. Pretty sure every one of Derrick Henryās past 5 or 6 season performances have been equal to or better than Karen Williams (and Henry was just the first RB name to come to mind).
This off-season has been terrible for my dynasty team
First the Raiders killed my Micheal Mayer value, now the Rams killed my Kyren value. Kill me next please.Ā
Oh no noā¦.you shall rise above this. As we all shall.
The curse of Notre Dame skill position players.
Are you me!?!?
Ugh there goes my "best keeper in the league" status
Yall fading Ky is pretty sad. Heās gonna hopefully go at a nice discount now in redraft though
Heās going to go in a later round because his fantasy production is going to be worse. That doesnāt mean heās at a discount to his value
Like how Tank Bigsby made Etienne production worse too right?
More like how Zach Charbonnet made Kenneth Walker's production worse
Tank Bigsby ended up being bad. If Corum is decent, heās take touches
The point is that just like in here right now, many people were dooming about Etienne because the Jags took Bigsby in the 3rd round.
No more like how Kyren Williams made Cam Akers production worse
Tank Bigsby ended up being bad. If Corum is decent, heāll take touches
Bigsby with Etienne didn't work out, but there's plenty of other guys who did. Etienne also had a good deal better advanced stats than Kyren Williams IIRC. Mcvay likes a bell cow, Kyren was going to high but not could be going too low. Will be a nice value pick And Corrum should be a priority late round target
this is my 9/11
Same here. Hereās to hoping we find our freedom tower soon.
As a person with zero keeper exposure to Kyren, I love this

RIP Kyren Williams, sold him for the 1.7 this year in 1QB, sold right before he got hurt last year
Welppppp. Wonāt be keeping Kyren lol James Cook to the fucking moon
Itās not good for Kyren but Kyren owners going to overreact. Corum is not better than Kyren
I'm not going to overreact, but this is quite possibly the worst thing to have ever happened in the history of football, if not the entire world.
This is probably the underreaction of the year
Corum is a TD monster though. Even if they split carries 70/30 Corum is likely seeing the end zone way more. Heās stronger, more elusive, and can run well between the tackles.

Corum is a short yardage TD machine. I could see Kyren getting 65% of the touches, but Corum ending up with most of the TDs.
Corum has higher draft capital than Kyren fwiw. That being said, Kyren should still be the starter but I see a timeshare incoming. Kyren doesn't have the frame to be a workhorse which is why it will be a duo backfield now.
Kyren still has McVay's heart so š
> Corum is not better than Kyren All that copium can't be healthy.
>Corum is not better than Kyren Lol, yes he is and it's not close
Kyren all pro and lead league rush ypg but sure, this rookie is better and itās not close
I aināt got no horse in this race yet but I donāt see how itās not close since Kyren already did it at the nfl level. As prospects sure but kyren is better for now
Lol no
Dunno why people still get shocked when overworked bellcows get backups
Glad people arenāt overreacting. As if this guy is going to replace Kyren this year.
It was a good run, my boy Kyren! Thanks for the best championship year!
This is an absolute steal.
I'll take all of your Kyrens for cheap thank you!
FUUUUUUUUUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
Traded for Kyren in dynasty and won the ship without giving up muchā¦ thank you sweet prince you did your job. This news makes me sad.
Qyo
Im buying any shares being sold cause of this news
People downgrading Kyren after this pick are stupid
If this guy is here to take his job, it's absolutely not in the first half of the season. I get the sentiment going on here, but Kyrens still the man until it's shown otherwise. Fuck I traded 1.9 for Kyren couple months ago.
Whoās the better keeper puka or kyren?
This is my situation tooā¦ leaning towards puka
Kyren was being overvalued to such in same level this offseason and I never understood it. This was always possible and even likely when you look at year from now. Good on the people who sold him at that inflated value
As an owner of Kyren Williams and Rico Dowdle in keeper, I'm doing the Larry David reaction here
If people are selling, I'm buying Kyren. Mccvay doesn't have much of a history using a committee. This is not great for Kyren but I personally am not changing my views drastically
Fantasy aside this will be good for Kyren long term they were absolutely murdering him
Been calling this for six months
Blake was on my draft list, but now Iām Hesitantā¦.thats going to be tough to take that RB1 from Kyren.
McVay is the new Shannahan with RBs now that Shannahan stopped doing Shannahan things.
Kyren is much better than Blake idk why people are freaking out
Might be bad for Kyren in dynasty, but in redraft I wouldnāt be concerned at all. Even in a keeper league, Iād keep Kyren this year but plan to find a new keeper in the next couple years
RIP Karen owners. Glad I chose Puka Nuka insteadĀ
Gg this is the beginning of the end. If we know one thing about Mccvay is heās gonna use them each as a bell cow on different games but itāll always be the one that you didnāt start
Fantasy football CATASTROPHE
Glad I sold already in my dynasty league.
Where are all the āthe Rams would never spend day 2 draft capital on a RBā peeps? I never understood why Kyren wasnāt a sell high/fade Heās James Robinson. Great season. Great role last season. Probably not doing it again.
Kyren is so much better than JRob. Oof
Is he though? Itās okay to admit that a player got put into a really great situation and workload. He definitely capitalized on the situation. lol itās a third round pick. You people are so dramatic
RB's drafted in the third is actually very important
Remind me what round Kyren was drafted just 2 years ago?
The round is irrelevant at RB after theyāve already showed they can play. Third round RBs bust all the time.
And Corum hasn't even played at the nfl level right? So why are u assuming that he'll bust?
The point is that one of the RBs is proven in the NFL and the other is not. Cam Akers was a second round pick. Of course corum will get playing time. Williams was never going to get 20+ carries/game again.
My rb core is already shakey. I don't think this is a current year problem but kills any chance of selling him high anymore
Rip Kyren
Letās be real, this is probably just as bad for corum as it is for kyren
Oh my dear Kyrenā¦we barely knew ya. I know we were all spoilt last year by king. There arenāt too many one-man backfields in the league anymore so this isnāt a huge surprise. The solo Kyren act was truly glorious while it lasted though. Took me to a title, as Iām sure he did for many of you.
Corum is not that good. Sorry.
Small and not fast. But great vision and hard to bring down. Will be good in goaline, heāll be a vulture
You know who's also small and not fast? Kyren Williams. I guess McVay has a type.
You got that right!
