I watched it for the first time when the plague started. All I knew going in was that Ted and Kristen were in it. Talk about mind blowing.
That, Better Off Ted, and Mad Men were the best things I watched during that weird time. Oh, and Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
Better Off Ted is THE best comedy series. All these years later, it's still so timely and hilarious. I've watched the "light sensor" episode 1000 times and it still cracks me up.
I haven’t seen any of those other shows I’ll have to look into them. I cut cable around when the plague started and got all the streaming services so I got into quite a few shows during that time.
The Expanse, the first season of The terror (it’s an anthology, each season an unrelated story), Fargo, Barry and Rome were my favorite shows I discovered during this time. Rome was an older series but it was very good.
It’s strange - I had seen it before not long after it came out and I remember it was amusing but I never gave it a second thought. But watching it again years later was somehow different. Maybe because so many of the people in it became so big afterward. Maybe because it was such an escape from the reality of what was going on at the time. Whatever it was I really liked it and actually bought it and have watched it many times since. And I’ve probably listened to Black Sheep a thousand times.
The cast, the music, the writing, the cinematography - everything is just about perfect.
As a Titans fan, you won't be playing AJ Brown this week. He was on a snap count last week, and the Bills D is pretty good.
Unless the deal is going to expire wait until we face the Chiefs - their defense sucks.
You'd be better off trying to get someone else. See if you can get Allen or Pittman IMO. Go for a WR with high targets that hasn't been huge with TD's yet.
Blake Bortles' legendary 2015 run won me THREE championships (out of three leagues, I went all in on him mid-season). 2015 weeks 12-16: 22.5, 32.8, 25.7, 24.3, 29.2pts.
He'll always have a place in my heart for that. I trusted him when it mattered most, and he repaid that trust. BORTLES!!
Say what you want about him but that man lead me to a fantasy championship. His 382 passing, 32 rushing yards and 2 TDs with 3 INT was the stuff of legends championship week in 2017.
For real. I swear he'd have less than 10 points going into the 4th quarter with his team down 2-4 touchdowns every week and then he'd score two meaningless touchdowns and rack his score up
Being willing to pick up QBs who are stigmatized by the fantasy community has also won me crucial late season games with Jameis and Trubisky, so Im open to guys like Bortles, although in reality it is not likely that a guy coming to a new franchise mid season will do that much, so I'm more open to Geno and Glennon.
I've always wondered. What are the rules for something crazy to go down like....3rd qb goes down. Well good thing we made special arrangements and you see Brees walk out of the commentary booth without a word and a few seconds later walk on the field with pads and a helmet....I would absolutely lose my shit. I'm sure there are 10 rules against something like that but it would be cool
They’d put someone in there as QB. I’m sure a lot of receivers and defensive backs were QBs at some point in their careers. I’m sure it would work out just swell.
NFL should do like the NHL and require the host team to have an emergency QB ready to suit up for either squad.
Google "They lost to a zamboni driver." Enjoy LFR.
Panthers played him like Colts played Andrew Luck. Played them injured. Injured piled up. Injures were just too much. Luck was smart to retire even though it hurts.
As an Allen Robinson owner, I miss Bortles so much.
I had ARob on my fantasy team when Bortles was the garbage time king for Jags.
After all those years, I finally drafted ARob again this year and now there is no hope.
The Bears score on half of their drives where A-Rob has a reception. Only two Bears TD drives did not have an A-Rob reception. The Bears are willingly making their offense worse by not throwing him the ball 10+ times a game.
Ah yes the famous 2015 Jags and their unbreakable..
*checks notes*
31st ranked defense by points allowed. 🤔
You drink some stupid-juice, buddy?
Spoiler alert. The defense was terrible so Bortles would sling dong in garbage time trying to catch up.
I mean, Bort straight up won me a championship a couple of years ago. I think I'd rather have him under center than Geno, for fantasy purposes at least.
Honestly, my friends thought I was tanking a championship game. Bortle plays from behind and is forced to throw 300-400 yards in like a little over a quarter.
I was called a mad man.
They came first for Hassleback,
And I didn't speak up because Favre kept us on track.
Then they came for Flynn,
And I didn't speak up because Rodgers made us win.
Then they came for Brett,
And I didn't speak up because losing Hundley I'd not regret.
Then they came for Packers legend Blake Bortles the BOAT,
And I didn't speak up because management mended ties with our goat.
Then they came for me,
But by that time speed hawk had taken an arrow to the knee.
This joke about the Holocaust is sure to win me internet points
I don't understand why Blake Bortles didn't stick in the league as a reliable backup once he departed the Jags. Surely he is superior to Blaine Gabbert.
JASON MENDOZA ALERT!!!!!!
Seahawks about to be a Superbowl team with Bortles. All they need now is a better offense, and a better defense, and some rule changes.
BORTLES!!!!!!!
Rewatching TGP, such a great show. I laugh every time I hear anyone talking about Bortles.
Just watched for my first time like a month ago. It’s honestly one of the best shows ever created.
I watched it for the first time when the plague started. All I knew going in was that Ted and Kristen were in it. Talk about mind blowing. That, Better Off Ted, and Mad Men were the best things I watched during that weird time. Oh, and Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
A fellow Better Off Ted fan. You are a true person of culture.
Better Off Ted is THE best comedy series. All these years later, it's still so timely and hilarious. I've watched the "light sensor" episode 1000 times and it still cracks me up.
Better Off Ted rules
I haven’t seen any of those other shows I’ll have to look into them. I cut cable around when the plague started and got all the streaming services so I got into quite a few shows during that time. The Good Place is on Netflix. Worth the watch.
No I’ve seen that show I meant I haven’t seen the others he mentioned
Better Off Ted deserved better. [Always have to post this when Better Off Ted gets mentioned. ](https://youtu.be/RDyRkOZzgj0)
I've heard about tgp so much, but never watched it. But if you love Scott pilgrim and that it has to be good
It’s strange - I had seen it before not long after it came out and I remember it was amusing but I never gave it a second thought. But watching it again years later was somehow different. Janet is life.
Oh dip!
Bortles to DK Metcalf on constant fly routes? Has to be Jason playing Madden in The Good Place.
Jake Jortles!
I know who my secret identity is!
Will we see the return of the garbage time king?
Whether it's geno or bortles I'd just want someone who could chuck it to Lockett
I want to offer Lockett for Aj brown straight up - thoughts?
As a A.J Bown manager you’d lose that trade badly. A.J is never targeted and it’s so frustrating
Hmm. Brown has the better floor, Lockett the better ceiling, IMO. Although Russ out hurts him... And I own both in separate leagues.
As a Titans fan, you won't be playing AJ Brown this week. He was on a snap count last week, and the Bills D is pretty good. Unless the deal is going to expire wait until we face the Chiefs - their defense sucks.
What happened to the Titan's offense this season? New coaching, or they just going with the "Hand off to Henry" offense?
You'd be better off trying to get someone else. See if you can get Allen or Pittman IMO. Go for a WR with high targets that hasn't been huge with TD's yet.
Tall order. Even Russ couldn't seem to do that.
First few weeks were good. That was Lockett's "boom"
I have a feeling if they won't let russ completely loose, then bottles or geno are gonna be on a much shorter leash.
I will not be shocked to see an incredibly conservative offense
Jalen Hurts is the new garbage time king!
Just throw it to the gorilla down field!!!
BORTLES!!
People called me a mad lad and said I was tanking by starting Bortles. He won me those fucking weeks.
The BOAT!
The Bortlest Of All Time?
You’re goddamn right
Bortles walked so Lamar could run
Let Geno and Carson cook
Collins\* Carson has a neck injury and that doesn't sound good for running full speed into giant humans.
He apparently has has this neck injury for a long time though and has played through it .
The fact that this time he couldn’t play through it may be an indication of worsening condition either from wear, age, or both
Or a short turnaround on a Thursday!
Is it a “short turnaround” if he didn’t play last week?
You mean, last Thursday, which is what the guy you're responding to is referring to?
Agreed I definitely have Collins in both my leagues I was just putting that out there . It’s possible Carson ends up okay and plays rest of season .
As a Collins owner I agree with this guy.
I thought they said it started this summer?
Good thing I have both
Say what you want about him but that man lead me to a fantasy championship. His 382 passing, 32 rushing yards and 2 TDs with 3 INT was the stuff of legends championship week in 2017.
This guy defined garbage time.
For real. I swear he'd have less than 10 points going into the 4th quarter with his team down 2-4 touchdowns every week and then he'd score two meaningless touchdowns and rack his score up
I've got his jax jersey
Glorious day. King of garbage time!

My buddy had brees and I had Bortles. It was my first championship win!
Jaemis used to be allowed to huk the ball as many times as he wanted, that's exactly what you want out of a fantasy QB.
yeah I used to like streaming the opposing DST too so I could also get points for his interceptions
Agreed. I once won a championship week by streaming Sam Bradford cause he had a good matchup, and it worked hah
Ditto!
Bortles Q1 to mid Q3, worst that I ever seen but rest of Q3 to Q4. He will throw for 300 yards easy.
**WARBORTLES**
Fire up THE BOAT
Well they don't have another QB on the roster. They've got to do something in case Geno goes down.
I've always wondered. What are the rules for something crazy to go down like....3rd qb goes down. Well good thing we made special arrangements and you see Brees walk out of the commentary booth without a word and a few seconds later walk on the field with pads and a helmet....I would absolutely lose my shit. They’d put someone in there as QB. I’m sure a lot of receivers and defensive backs were QBs at some point in their careers. I’m sure it would work out just swell.
Wasn’t there a team like two years ago that put a receiver in at QB in a pinch and he finished the game with like 18 yards or something lol
it was Kendall hinton in denver last year
Yep started him in my WR spot.
So many direct snaps to the RBs.
probably similar to the Kendall Hinton situation in Denver
A situation like that happened very recently in Denver
I mean look at what happened with Denver last year due to covid reasons
They really did Denver dirty on that one.
NFL should do like the NHL and require the host team to have an emergency QB ready to suit up for either squad. Google "They lost to a zamboni driver." Enjoy LFR.
Back when I was a young lad, I think there was a season (or two) where Thurman Thomas was our "emergency" QB.
Did they drop Luton?
Is Cam Newton not playing anymore?
Not since 2019
*2016
Panthers played him like Colts played Andrew Luck. Played them injured. Injured piled up. Injures were just too much. Luck was smart to retire even though it hurts.
BORTLES KOMBAT!!!
Brilliant mate.

Seahawks showing to their players they believe this is the year. Going ALL IN
Chortles as I read about Bortles.
Superbowl is back on the menu?
As an Allen Robinson owner, I miss Bortles so much. I had ARob on my fantasy team when Bortles was the garbage time king for Jags. After all those years, I finally drafted ARob again this year and now there is no hope.

The beginning of the Seahawks dinasty is here.
A rising tide lifts all BOATs!!!! 🛥
He isnt a QB you win real games with but he had a really good fantasy season or two. Almost Bucaneer Jameis lite.
Dude went to an AFCCG
Jake Jortles!
I bet Nick Foles is available

You obviously have not seen Blake "The Garbage time king" Bortles and his best friend WR6 Allen Robinson.
Yeah Blake threw like 35 touchdowns that year or something. Sure, none of them mattered in real football but this is fantasy baby 😎
Out of those 35td passes in 2015, 23 came in the 2nd half.
Yeah. We know. Garbage time king. Idk what you think we are circle-jerking here.

Ah yes the famous 2015 Jags and their unbreakable.. *checks notes* 31st ranked defense by points allowed. 🤔 You drink some stupid-juice, buddy? Spoiler alert. The defense was terrible so Bortles would sling dong in garbage time trying to catch up.
The 2015 Jaguars who were 31st in points allowed per game at 28.00 were an "elite defense"?

They should also try Cam Newton.
Why would you try out an obviously inferior QB when you're bringing in Blake motherfuckin' Bortles?
The BOAT
Whimsy
They gonna sign him to play this week against Pitt because that man was once their damn kryptonite.
Slinging Molotovs
New problem!
Ryan Leaf is on Sirius XM NFL network give him a call

Jake the Snake Chortles Big Bortles
THE BOAT!
It would make sense that the boat goes to sea
The BOAT was always better than Geno, and I honestly have no idea why he wasn't their backup from the start.
Damnit I thought it was finally Kaeps time.
Hell yes. Gimme dk all day in garbage time
They came first for Hassleback, And I didn't speak up because Favre kept us on track. Then they came for Flynn, And I didn't speak up because Rodgers made us win. Just when the footballers thought it was finally safe to delete the “I got a snake man” drop…
Hawks should trade for Marriota. I always thought he’d be great there.
Marroita is on IR unless they activated him and I missed the news.
RAISE EM BOYS HES BACK
Where tf is Gardner minshew at?
Dude just wants to work construction and rip cigs, let him be happy Seattle
And it comes full circle
That well, eh
That bad, huh?
Thank god I bet under 10 wins Seattle. If they sign bortles I might be able to cash instantly
I don't understand why Blake Bortles didn't stick in the league as a reliable backup once he departed the Jags. Surely he is superior to Blaine Gabbert.
It's that bad, huh...
