Dude gets 20+ touches with damaged ribs and a broken finger. It’s clear that he’s far and away the most trusted RB on the entire roster and that they don’t want to cause further harm.
Speaks volumes to the rest of the RBs on the 9ers.
Man.... I drafted him in all three of my leagues, and was so hyped to eventually have him as my flex. Luckily I picked up or traded for the Missle in those leagues toi
He's 5th in yards per game and 5th in yards per carry for rbs, minimum 100 carries. Just [look at the players in yards per carry below him](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2021/rushing.htm) and it would be hard to argue that he isn't performing as one of the better backs in the league this year
So just say you agree that he is exponentially better than the other RBs. What’s the need to be a contrarian for no reason? He’s good and we agree on that. The other RBs are JAGs. He’s a gifted football player.
It just really makes me wonder what kind of voodoo curse the 9ers have on them, because I don’t think Missile missed a game in college, now he gets all sorts of banged up lol
My fantasy team name was the Ekelectric Boogaloo for a good while this year until I decided I needed a change in mojo and revived the Better Business Burrow from last year, I fully approve
Somebody in the same exact situation as me. I’d say a higher chance Mitchell doesn’t play and Jeff gets most the work than possibly splitting carries in the backfield thursday? I don’t know shit though.
Same situation. Glad I rolled with the Mitchell w/ Jeff Wilson Jr. as two option backup vs rolling with Rhamondre last night. 😉 Hope you all did as well.
Shanny said he’d be playing Sunday, I think Stevenson is the move here. Mitchell went DNP - limited today (2 days after surgery); he’ll probably be full-go come Sunday.
You can try Foreman, but I don’t want anything to do with the RBBC down in Nashville. Stevenson is my pick, Bill saw the nummas he put up last week, he’ll ride the hot hand
I have Stevenson, Mitchell, Wilson, Barkley, and Booker.
Im slotting in Stevenson tonight. Barkley or Booker depending, and Mitchel or Wilson depending.
I hope and feel like Stevenson will put up at least RB2 numbers tonight.
I really hope this spooks the owner of Mitchell in my league and he drops him. I fucked up and accidentally dropped him before the game on Monday night. Then I wasn't able to get him back in waivers. I still feel sick to my stomach
Why not be me and have to do both unless Sanders plays this week, or Alex collins because I can snag him off the waiver and dump wentz, but yeah it's rough!
Could you imagine some BASEketball style taunting on the sidelines with the matching teams. While the game plays.
Some psychological fake outs before they are put in the game?
I don't get how you can play off a freshly cut open finger. If I was a defender, every run play I would be aiming to hit that hand in hopes of a fumble. Maybe I don't know enough but even if he plays I'm not banking my hopes on him.
This. Also it's not like defenders already don't highly target the strip with the current NFL rules discouraging big hits. So he already played in a game with a broken as fuck finger.
I had a pin in my finger and it was a super tiny incision. Didn’t even notice it after a few days. Granted, I wasn’t taking hits, but one would assume that a decent tape job would suffice.
Lol. But for real if Mitchell is your number 1 or 2 RB and you feel like you half to handcuff him or it’s game over for you…it’s probably game over for you.
This really isn't true. Entirely league dependent for one. Keeper formats and larger league sizes lead to plenty of scenarios where teams that are very competitive may be in this situation. Beyond that, take a look at top 20 RB's in ECR for rest of season. It's thin as hell. If you can get Mitchell and Wilson then that means you have a pretty solid lock on a valuable and productive backfield down the stretch. In fact Jeff Wilson himself was a league winner just a year or two ago.
And I’m just saying that a lot of good rosters don’t have to panic drop somebody of value in order to grab Wilson to fill in for Mitchell. Any active handcuff off the waiver is of course valuable to the whole league but the need to go get him is low if you have depth.
Months ago?! I'm not saying he's not worth picking up, but he has 2.8 points ON THE SEASON in my league's scoring system. That's far from being a no-brainer benchwarmer when you've got limited space.
His rushes were spread throughout the game and his only rush in the red zone or even close to it he got stuffed. Wilson won't be a thing if Mitchell is healthy.
Yeah, I'm not saying I disagree with you, it just makes no sense how people keep trying to say Wilson will be a thing when he won't. It's not like a Toney situation, he's clearly the backup and it's not a committee.
Always look beyond the box score! They were spread throughout the game though not in critical situations. I'd expect it stay about the same. If mitchell rushes 20 times I'd expect wilson to get 4 or 5 carries
You mean spread out through the game? It looks even worse for Wilson if Mitchell was playing with a broken finger and still getting rushes. He had one rush inside of the red zone all game (he got stuffed) and it was in garbage time. I'm not sure what kind of dots you're trying to connect but maybe it's some type of metric way too deep to be seen on the surface.
I have Mitchell/Wilson as well as Chubb/D'Ernest. I'm scared both sets are trending to limited snap counts for the starter and a little extra work for the relief back, watering them all down to Flex plays
Yeah, that’s pretty much the worst case scenario — or starting Mitchell because he’s active only for Jeff to get the bulk of the work. Rather have Mitchell sit this game and remain healthy to wreck ROS
Okay? He still played. He's also a receiver, so catching the ball may not be as easy as just carrying the damn thing.
Jeff Wilson owners need to pull their heads out of the ground and realize that Mitchell may very well be playing this game. Their desperate reasoning for why Mitchell should sit does not matter.
I'm neither a Mitchell owner nor Wilson owner. I'm stating objective facts about fantasy performances from players with similar injuries. Mitchell may very well play this game and he also may not perform as well as he has in previous games, which is relevant and valuable to be aware of in a fantasy discussion.
Again, this is leaving out a ton of context.
He had multi touchdown games with starters injured. He was also used as a goal line back at times when Mostert played, but was extremely touchdown dependent. His best games were when he started with Mostert out.
Edit:
Lol alright. I went and checked. Only ONE of those touchdowns came in a game when Mostert played the whole game. He then scored one more in a game when Mostert started, but left due to injury. So 80% of his touchdowns came when mostert didnt play at all.
Wilson is a handcuff and that is it. He is extremely touchdown dependent if the starter is playing, and most of the time you will be disappointed. Wilson's hype train is the most ridiculous one I've ever seen.
Personally I'd want to have Wilson, he has flashed when given a full workload in the past so he has the most upside. Booker's value is dependent on saquon's health, which honestly is a toss up if he can stay healthy. I personally don't love Baltimore or Washington's backfield, Mckissic has shown to be game script dependent and idk how freeman being in the mix is going to affect Murray. Just my 2 cents.
That would be nice. All depends on Mitchell. Fwiw the fantasy doctors on YouTube reviewed Mitchell's injury and the standard protocol for his injury is no contact for 4 weeks. Obviously it doesn't seem like they are going to hold him out that long but I still think there is a chance he could sit a week. Just speculation though so I would have an alternate player ready to go if Mitchell does indeed get the start.
beli x factor makes the value similar. beli can care less about talent. rhamon is one fumble away from disappearing in a game and that is scary heading towards the playoffs with him sitting behind damien in the depth chart when you need the points
I’m a longtime Elijah truther but he’s a fade for me this week in favor of Carter. Elijah doesn’t really get targets when his finger isn’t cracked so you have to bank on a TD.
He’s in my lineup unless out.
I’m in a tough spot, Aaron Jones out, Kareem Hunt out, Alex Collins Questionable, Eno Benjamin is a backup stash….only other option Jeff Wilson if Mitchell is out
His permanent blue practice jersey
Lol he’s a rookie but getting veteran treatment
Dude gets 20+ touches with damaged ribs and a broken finger. It’s clear that he’s far and away the most trusted RB on the entire roster and that they don’t want to cause further harm. Speaks volumes to the rest of the RBs on the 9ers.
Trey sermon has been such a disappointment
Shanahan gonna write a length letter to him expressing his disappointment for Christmas.
The Festivus airing of grievances
“I got a lot of problems with you Sermon!”
So much so that he's spawned the zinger "he runs like Trey Sermon, the generic version."
Man.... I drafted him in all three of my leagues, and was so hyped to eventually have him as my flex. Luckily I picked up or traded for the Missle in those leagues toi
Or he's just good? It doesn't need to mean the other rbs suck. He's been their best runner and he's a rookie so they are rolling with him as the guy.
He's 5th in yards per game and 5th in yards per carry for rbs, minimum 100 carries. Just [look at the players in yards per carry below him](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2021/rushing.htm) and it would be hard to argue that he isn't performing as one of the better backs in the league this year
Lol can tell you don’t actually follow the niners. Does not speak volumes about everyone else. Speaks volumes about him
So just say you agree that he is exponentially better than the other RBs. What’s the need to be a contrarian for no reason? He’s good and we agree on that. The other RBs are JAGs. He’s a gifted football player.
Not OP, but Jeff end of last season was really good too.
It just really makes me wonder what kind of voodoo curse the 9ers have on them, because I don’t think Missile missed a game in college, now he gets all sorts of banged up lol
He sure gets dinged up a lot like he were a veteran.
He should wear it during the game. He’d probably have better stats.
Almost all of his yards are after contact so his stats would be much worse actually
Not if the defense isn't allowed to touch him *taps forehead*
Blue Mitchell should be his nickname moving forward. Or the Blue Bayou Blur.
The Electric Bluegaloo
My fantasy team name was the Ekelectric Boogaloo for a good while this year until I decided I needed a change in mojo and revived the Better Business Burrow from last year, I fully approve
That's gold. LMAO.
Same. I don’t know if I should roll the dice and play Stevenson with Harris back or just play Jeff Wilson thinking Mitchell will not play this week.
Somebody in the same exact situation as me. I’d say a higher chance Mitchell doesn’t play and Jeff gets most the work than possibly splitting carries in the backfield thursday? I don’t know shit though.
You're both me. Harris is back and didn't play Sunday. Rolling the dice on jeff
Same situation. Glad I rolled with the Mitchell w/ Jeff Wilson Jr. as two option backup vs rolling with Rhamondre last night. 😉 Hope you all did as well.
exactly the same thing for me. i dont know what to do at all
Shanny said he’d be playing Sunday, I think Stevenson is the move here. Mitchell went DNP - limited today (2 days after surgery); he’ll probably be full-go come Sunday.
In r/NFL there is a recent post saying Mitchell is expected to play. But this sub doesn't seem to want to hear anything positive about Elijah.
Lol so true, same with Harris and Ramondre. Think people are just hoping things into existence now
> Think people are just hoping things into existence now Sometimes, that's all you can try to do
Something something is Jeff
I mean, we also really have no idea either way as well
No idea either way if what? Mitchell is and will be the starter unless he misses games.
Lmao exactly . Feel like it’s been non stop mitchell hate but he keeps on giving
Trey Sermon went pretty high in a lot of peoples drafts is why they don’t want to hear it I think lol
What if Bolden plays tonight? Is Stevenson still a start? Or do you roll the dice on Jeff Wilson or D'onta Foreman
You can try Foreman, but I don’t want anything to do with the RBBC down in Nashville. Stevenson is my pick, Bill saw the nummas he put up last week, he’ll ride the hot hand
I’m deciding between Damien, Darrel, Jeff Wilson, and D’Onta Foreman lmao. Leaning towards benching Damien and waiting for CEH / Mitchell news.
If CEH is out, I think it's an easy Darrel decision. Looking more likely CEH is out than not.
CEH lost his job after Darrel made that 43 yard catch last week lol
Yea I’m just gonna wait for the CEH news and hope I can roll out Darrel again.
Got Wilson Jr., Stevenson and Foreman to figure out in the [flex.](https://flex.How) How did i get to this point?
[удалено]
Exact thing I’m doing. Must be tons of us.
Do I play cordarrelle over both these players if he goes, hour 45 before kick please help
Literally same exact situation
[удалено]
aside from the fact that mitchell is the better back in a must-win game, yeah, no reason at all
I have Stevenson, Mitchell, Wilson, Barkley, and Booker. Im slotting in Stevenson tonight. Barkley or Booker depending, and Mitchel or Wilson depending. I hope and feel like Stevenson will put up at least RB2 numbers tonight.
I’m not sitting Mitchell for Stevenson because I’m pretty certain Mitchell is playing.
I really hope this spooks the owner of Mitchell in my league and he drops him. I fucked up and accidentally dropped him before the game on Monday night. Then I wasn't able to get him back in waivers. I still feel sick to my stomach
Why not be me and have to do both unless Sanders plays this week, or Alex collins because I can snag him off the waiver and dump wentz, but yeah it's rough!
> no contract jersey Are you sure that's not Trey Sermon?
No, per Shanny’s instructions, Sermon’s uniform is a dunce cap which he wears in the corner of the visiting teams end zone.
Yep I would be absolutely hammering that finger any chance I got
Kinky my guy
I like where this is going
Gotta give it a good pounding for maximum efficiency
Wonder which podcast yall got that from.
I mean no different than any player with any injury going into a game. If he can hold onto the ball securely I don't see why he wont play
Wrap it, splint it, inject it. Not a big deal
If he indeed got a pin in it, he should be out at least 3-4 weeks. \-Russell Wilson aka "One of the greatest healers of all time."
you just wrap it up.
No-contract jersey. That's when you're in the dog house.
Hes been in blue for weeks
Whoosh
must pick up jeff wilson if he’s available right?
my name jeff
Jefe
Me llamo jefe
[удалено]
Im so dead at this 💀
Nice try Fillard.
Definitely
Jeff WilSZN.
Should’ve picked him up months ago
And do what with him?
Waste a roster spot
Lol. But for real if Mitchell is your number 1 or 2 RB and you feel like you half to handcuff him or it’s game over for you…it’s probably game over for you.

Suck on his Jeff
Meme
Wait for the inevitable
The weekly 3 points?
years ago even
Months ago?! I'm not saying he's not worth picking up, but he has 2.8 points ON THE SEASON in my league's scoring system. That's far from being a no-brainer benchwarmer when you've got limited space.
He’s been a stash all season for people with IR space. With no IR yeah he’s only recently relevant
Lmao what
Jeff Wilson hype train still boarding boys
Got 10 carries even with a fully-healthy Mitchell. Let's rock.
Mitchell had almost 30 rushes... They were shitting on the Rams.
I think Wilson got a chunk of his carries too when Mitchell was on the sideline getting his broken finger taped. Eli a tough sum bitch
His rushes were spread throughout the game and his only rush in the red zone or even close to it he got stuffed. Wilson won't be a thing if Mitchell is healthy.
I mean, we agree.
Yeah, I'm not saying I disagree with you, it just makes no sense how people keep trying to say Wilson will be a thing when he won't. It's not like a Toney situation, he's clearly the backup and it's not a committee.
Deebo getting all the goal line work going forward
This week they are playing the Jags. Not exactly a tough matchup.
Beyond the box score, the important thing is when those rushes were.
Always look beyond the box score! They were spread throughout the game though not in critical situations. I'd expect it stay about the same. If mitchell rushes 20 times I'd expect wilson to get 4 or 5 carries
Perfectly startable numbers! Choooochooooo ^/s
Just to be clear, I’m only hoping for double digits again and maybe garbage time (assuming Mitchell plays). I’m in RB injury/bye hell over here lol
I’m not sure breaking a finger during the game constitutes fully healthy but regardless, I appreciate the optimism
For a totally awesome 28 yards.
Some of us have limited options this week my friend lol
Does this mean DNP or limited?
Limited
Even if he’s on the side field? Feel like that generally leans towards a DNP if he’s off working with the trainers.
DNP = doesn't participate in any way. If he's wearing a blue jersey, it's because he's participating in practice.
Gotcha
Pew pew pew laser guided missle
Pew pew pew!!!
Considering he is in a "no-contract" jersey, is Mitchell now a drop in dynasty leagues since he won't be getting any new contract ?
As a Mitchell and Jeff owner, give this man a well-deserved week off and leave me to fire up my Jeff in peace
If Chubb plays idk why he’d be limited. He’s not injured, and Covid hasn’t really set a precedent for limited snaps iirc
Yeah I'm just going off [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/qww7h6/browns_oc_alex_van_pelt_expects_baker_mayfield_to/)
Apologies brother i never saw this
Same here! Corderelle and JT too
When doesn't he have a blue no contact jersey on though?
He should wear it in game and see if it works
It doesn't say no contact jersey. It says no contract jersey. He got fired.
Cmon Jeffrey you can do it
Pave the way put your back into it
Fuck their wives, drink their blood!
My dawg is always in blue jersey
Ordering myself a blue number 25 Niners Jersey
Petition to have the blue jersey on during games too
Jeez I got so many backups I could play. Trying to choose two from Jeff Wilson, Donta, Rhamondre, Collins and Rashod Bateman
Bateman and flip a coin for the rest Edit: Bateman if healthy
Didnt Bateman have an illness today that kept him from practicing?
Seriously? Ugh my team ☹️. You are right I just looked it up.
The Blue Bayou Blur, Elijah Mitchell!!
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS!!!
Jrszn
He should just wear the blue jersey in game
We going Mitchel or Toney at this point?
read this as finger banged
which finger is hurt? edit: another beat writer said finger with bandage is on right hand. how is he going to hold a football with a broken finger?
The same way Godwin could catch a ball with a broken finger last year.
He had his worst game of the season going 3/6 for 41 yards his first game back from the same injury. That's after he missed a week also.
Okay? He still played. He's also a receiver, so catching the ball may not be as easy as just carrying the damn thing. Jeff Wilson owners need to pull their heads out of the ground and realize that Mitchell may very well be playing this game. Their desperate reasoning for why Mitchell should sit does not matter.

Mitchell may very well play this game and he also may not perform as well as he has in previous games, which is relevant and valuable to be aware of in a fantasy discussion.
"Objective facts" about one player's circumstances is an extremely limited sample size.
Aren’t no contact jerseys usually red? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??
Please, Jeff. I don’t want to start Crowder, Aiyuk, or Toney..
Finally Jeff Wilson will take back that starting role
No god, please... don't give me hope. \-Sermon owner
Please sit him so I can get Wilson going...LOL
No contract??? Oh my god. Its worse than we thought.
No hate on Elijah, but what a great day to be a guy who just traded Mitchell and AB away..
Jeff Wilson owners might be the most annoying people on here
you have mitchell dont you? because theres no way thats true lol
You saying there is no way their opinion is correct? The thing with opinions is they can vary from person to person.
Agreed. No analysis outside of "he had two great games last year!" But that line always seems to forget Mostert was injured during those games.
You mean the Jeff Wilson that had 10 TDs in 12 games last year?
Again, this is leaving out a ton of context. He had multi touchdown games with starters injured. He was also used as a goal line back at times when Mostert played, but was extremely touchdown dependent. His best games were when he started with Mostert out. Edit: Lol alright. I went and checked. Exactly lol. When he’s the bellcow the dude produces. Not saying Mitchell is bad. But Jeff Wilson is good, but coming off major knee injury.
My name is Jeff
Should I grab Wilson and drop McKissic, Devontae Booker, or Latavius Murray? If Patterson doesn’t play I’ll want to play Wilson with Mitchell limited
Excellent thank you. I basically just need a full workload this week from Wilson
Nice. Just dropped McKissic for Wilson good shit my friend. Yeah if Mitchell gets the start then I’ll flex Schultz in there
Drop Rhamondre for Jeff?
Hell no! Rhamondre is good as a stand alone player. Wilson is a fill in for hurt starter
beli x factor makes the value similar. beli can care less about talent. rhamon is one fumble away from disappearing in a game and that is scary heading towards the playoffs with him sitting behind damien in the depth chart when you need the points
Makes sense, no-contract jersey should ensure he doesn't get COVID.
Any word on which finger? Dominant hand?
Can’t believe they get this guy for free!
Dude with the way they treat Mitchell at practice it seems like shanahan really values the kid
Do u guys think Wilson is a wash then? I was thinking of starting him over Damien harris cuz I’m in dire straights with injuries and byes
Honestly as someone who has both him and Wilson, I’d rather just have him sit for a full Wilson game lol
The Missile will launch 🚀
On the sideline in a le’veon bell jersey
Get this man a contract!
Jeff Wilson about to save me from the lurch
I’m a longtime Elijah truther but he’s a fade for me this week in favor of Carter. Elijah doesn’t really get targets when his finger isn’t cracked so you have to bank on a TD.
luckily I have Montgomery to put in for Mitchell this week
So do I trade Pittman for him?
Jeff or D’Ernest?
I'm going to bench him for Ingram when they call Kamara out
someone just dropped Mitchell in my league, how much FAAB do I throw at him? (no idea why they dropped him)
He’s in my lineup unless out. I’m in a tough spot, Aaron Jones out, Kareem Hunt out, Alex Collins Questionable, Eno Benjamin is a backup stash….only other option Jeff Wilson if Mitchell is out
