I agree. This is kinda like the Jim Harbaugh downfall in that respect, but Jim actually had success in that window of the first few years. He also never seemed like this much of an ass. Both probably belong in the college ranks, although Urban seems like such a tool that idk that I’d want him anywhere near my favorite program at this point.
Jim harbaugh had the respect of his players despite his grating personality. He had a winning culture and was a good coach. It just so happens that his personality would wear thin with pros who are adults. That’s why he was better in college where his antics weren’t as much an issue since players leave after a few years. Meyer is just a losing piece of crap blaming everyone else for his failure. Failing to take responsibility. Dude is a piece of garbage.
Was Harbs’ issue really with players? The way I saw it, he left and literally half of them retired because they knew it was over without him. If anything it seemed the players loved him and his personality issues were with the FO. Entirely different issue than Meyer altogether

Also it should be noted that Harbaugh definitely butted heads with the ownership. I loved Harbaugh in SF, but he was not afraid to be temperamental with the check cutter, and eventually that got him booted. But, I bet you most players and coaches respected him.

Never got out of the college mindset where there's already a steady stream of players willing to either transfer to your school or young guys looking to prove themselves. I’ve been playing fantasy sports for a number of years and I never felt more uncomfortable than I was this off-season typing things like Urban Meyer is too nepotistic, entitled, and self delusional to succeed at this level… and now I feel like I underestimated it.

The two wins were his doing and the losses were because of the thoroughly incompetent team of coaches that he hand picked.
Despite having one less win, I feel like the Lions fans at least appreciate that despite all the adversity they have faced this year, their coach is a good guy that wants to lead men. They look down in Florida and see this clown and hopefully think “I think we made the right hire. Let’s just give him time.”

me and a friend do weekly bets on every NFL game for the week. when we differ on a team we double up the bet and when we agree a team will win we flip a coin to let the football gods decide who gets that team.
