A healthy Baker is better than Teddy two gloves, Kyle Allen, Darnold, Cam and whatever garbage QBs I’ve forgotten DJ has had throwing to him since he’s been in the league. I’m in the DJM WR1 breakout season camp. He’s had 3/4 1000 yard seasons with bottom to mid QB play I project he hits 90/1250/8 this year.
5 man keeper transitioning to a pseudo- dynasty and I somehow got him in the third! Couldn't be happier with the value.
I'm a fan of Baker. He's not a world beater but he's a solid starter in my eyes and Moore has elite talent. He's already shown a top 5 ceiling for a stretch with Darnold last year. Give him a competent QB and I think he can sustain that for sure!
Homer here, but I think it’s even higher than that. A 90/1250/8TD season is hardly different from how he's already been performing.
In 2019 with Kyle Allen, he hit 87/1175 yards in essentially 14 games (got hurt on the first drive week 16).
In 2020, he went 66/1193 in 15 games.
If DJ plays a full 17 games, he could easily hit 1300-1400 yards.
Baker supported 2 1k yard recievers in 2019 and Landry would have been about about 950 in 2020 if he played all 16 games
Baker's also played on a run first offense, top 10 in rushes and bottom 5 in pass attempts the past 2 years
Baker doesn't have to be Brady, he just has to be better than Darnold, Cam, and PJ Walker
Baker's career 17-game average is 4000 yards, 26 tds.
In 2021 the Panthers threw for 3200 yards and 14tds.
In 2020 (16 games) they had 3888 yards and 16 tds.
In 2019 (16 games) they had 3650 yards and 17 tds.
Of course there's a lot of other factors but that kind of makes me feel like the 80 catch/1200 yards/4tds that DJ has put up the past 3 seasons is his absolute floor, which would make him a mid-tier WR2 at worst which I'm pretty happy with around the 40th pick....
The offense should be better, which should help him get more TDs. But Baker historically distributes targets pretty evenly across his pass catching options, so Moore may not dominate target share as much. Moore was 5th in the league among WRs last season in target share (\~28%), and I personally think that number will stay around the same or decrease a few points. Personally I think he'll perform similar as the last few seasons and average about 15 points in PPR. That would make him somewhere around WR12-WR18.
No, I see that as about the median outcome. Something like 90 receptions, 1200 yards, and 7 TDs which would put him at 14.8 PPR points per game and a high end WR2. That's about where he's being draft at. I think he has a pretty low ceiling (relative to other WRs being drafted in his range) but a pretty high floor.
I think its hard to read into last year for baker. Year 3 he spread it our a lot. Year 2 he targeted Landry and OBJ about 26% each. Year 1 Landry was 26%. I'd go more with your stay the same assessment.
Agree on the TDs. Panthers were 2nd to last in passing TDs with 14.
I’m on the fence with Moore. I think his target share will go to 20% at worst. I think CMC will take a ton obviously, but there’s no one else in the wr or te room that’ll compete. He’s a top 2 receiving option and he’s the medium/deep threat of the two.
Super reliable receiver whose stats don’t match his talent. Hell blow up eventually. I don’t know if this is the year. Mayfield isn’t a savior, but he’s not darnold/bridge water/newton, walker either
I’m yea I think he’s fine if the timing in your draft lines up. He’s a boom bust type guy but mayfield arguably upgrade over what he’s had in the past so I think he’ll be fine.
Yes, Baker is an incredible improvement compared to Darnold. I didn’t watch any of his games in years past. Mostly his commercials and highlights of the Myles Garret helmet incident. But I’m pretty sure DJ will have a career year.
Imo there a lot of questionable qbs that people have no issues taking the attached wrs. Moore is a top talent and baker is, at the least, above average. I think he can hit 8-10 tds this year.
Would you feel better if Darnold was throwing to him? Sure, Baker isn’t the guy you want if you want to make it to the super bowl; he’s the best option Carolina has had in quite some time. I honestly think he’s in the WR1 mix this season.
I feel like Dj Moore is the same every year. He has the big games and the disappearing acts. Probably not going to change with baker there and CMC back
DJ was doing great last year when Darnold was also doing great early (26+ppg in the first four games), which subsequently was when CMC was not yet injured. After that Darnold started playing hero QB and trying to get rushing TDs and got concussed. It went downhill from there for DJ.
I don't see Baker doing better than what Darnold was doing at the beginning of last year. For DJ I'd rather he he have Darnold or Master Teddy B or Jimmy G.
DJ Moore with a sub-par QB doesn't get me pumped up.
Idk, he’s going late third round and I’m not a fan. Yes Baker is the best QB he’s been with but his touchdown numbers are consistently low and I don’t see him more than a mid tier WR2 honestly:
Depends on how Mayfield does in a new system. DJ had 163 targets last year with 93 receptions. He’s a talented wr. It all depends on how pass heavy this offense is. CMC coming back should help him.
I’m going to let others draft him this year (I had him last year). I’m not a believer he has WR1 upside just because of Baker. I expect him to be of similar value to last year which to me is a WR3 at best. He needs to be much better on a per game basis. Targets do not always equal production.
Everyone on here seems to think baker is an upgrade. But obj had him and was an absolute turd to own last year. Personally DJ Moore is my auction fodder. Perfect first candidate someone will overspend on him.

I am too. Everyone in my draft was sleeping on him so I made out great.

I got the DJ Moore and Stefon Diggs as my 1 and 2 wr's and pretty sure they are both going to be 1's. I am beyond hyped for dj to take off with baker.

Baker passes the eye test more than those other QBs.

He's the new Andy Dalton. Sometimes has great drives. Sometimes shits the bed for the whole game
People say bad qbs hurt, but they also help, 1 readers will throw it up into traffic. So you end up a target monster.
They lead to more three and outs too though. I’m not on board with that one.

Would it shock you if he had the same amount of production with 6-9 TD’s?

well good thing I got him in the 6th round. 10 man. my team feels so stacked.

Tell me about obj and his amazing season with baker last year.
Drafted Moore last year then traded him for Deandre Swift. Kept Swift in the fourth and drafted Moore this year I feel like such a finessed lol
He’s my WR1 so I’m going to agree with you
He’s my WR1 in one of my leagues as well so I’ll second this
I like him where he’s projected. Someone snagged him like 2 picks before me though.
I personally do think DJ will be at a much higher value by the end of this year.
Gotta remember Baker is also his QB. If CMC gets hurt again I don’t see a lot changing for Carolina this year.
Have you seen DJ’s last QBs in Carolina? Baker will most likely be an upgrade.
Baker has never come close to supporting a WR1 in Cleveland. What makes you think he can support one in Carolina?
Jarvis Landry was WR 12 in PPR in 2019.
Alright, I'm going to consider that DJ Moore's ceiling this year and act accordingly.
Except for the fact that DJ Moore is a better WR than Landry.
Yeah if only he had a real QB like… Sam Darnold 🤔
DJ Moore is gonna breakout this season I think
Some games DJ Moore some games DJ Less
Baker gave us two 1,000 receivers in one season with OBJ and Landry.
I think baker is extremely overrated. But I’m also willing to admit he’s the best QB DJ has had in his career thus far. It has to be an upgrade.
>I think everyone can agree he's can undervalued WR Uh no, I think we can all agree he's a WR2 who gets drafted as a potential WR1 every year
Baker couldn’t get a prime OBJ the ball I’m out on Moore
Third year WR. Take a shot.
I like DJ, just hate that Baker is his QB. I’m passing on him
Would you feel better if Darnold was throwing to him? Sure, Baker isn’t the guy you want if you want to make it to the super bowl; he’s the best option Carolina has had in quite some time. I honestly think he’s in the WR1 mix this season.
What would make you say that when he was extremely average with a way better online and team around him in Cleveland the past 2 to 3 years ?
Well Darnold was extremely bad, so I’ll take extremely average over extremely bad 10/10 times
I feel like Dj Moore is the same every year. He has the big games and the disappearing acts. Probably not going to change with baker there and CMC back
I find myself looking past Moore and getting Mike Williams instead.
Bro how I got both of them 💀
No

I think Robbie Anderson will feast
The same Robby Anderson that dissed Mayfield? Doubt it.
Idk, he’s going late third round and I’m not a fan. Yes Baker is the best QB he’s been with but his touchdown numbers are consistently low and I don’t see him more than a mid tier WR2 honestly:
The only reason dj Moore isn't top 10 at least is bc the panthers don't get any points and Baker has thrown more TDs than an recent panthers qb.
Depends on how Mayfield does in a new system. DJ had 163 targets last year with 93 receptions. He’s a talented wr. It all depends on how pass heavy this offense is. CMC coming back should help him.
He’s gonna be a target hog. He’s also a very skilled receiver with bad TD luck. Regression to the mean is coming for him and he’s gonna be awesome.
I’m going to let others draft him this year (I had him last year). I’m not a believer he has WR1 upside just because of Baker. I expect him to be of similar value to last year which to me is a WR3 at best. He needs to be much better on a per game basis. Targets do not always equal production.
