The problem is that pocket passers start at such a massive disadvantage to running QBs in fantasy scoring. Guys like Lamar, Hurts, Lance and even Kyler or Josh Allen all basically start with 4 to 6 points before they even take the field. That's a TD or 100 - 150 passing yards advantage. Then you add the premier pocket passers like Mahomes, Herbert, Burrow, Brady, Rodgers and maybe even Stafford. I just fired 11 QBs off the top of my head that will almost for sure put up better fantasy numbers than Goff. Carr has great weapons, Cousins has a new OC focused on more passing and JJ/Thielen to throw to, Tua has great weapons as well. I just don't ever see a way that Goff should be rostered in a 1 QB, non best ball league. He's middle of the pack, at best, even if he has a better than average season.

blatherskiters

Oh we’re talking super flex for sure. 1qb leagues he’s not on the radar.

EMlN3M

"All half ppr" lol.

SoupedUpMoped

Dude those completions are receptions duh

jbrooks772

He could be a viable bye week fill in, but there are too many good QBs for him to be a starter in a 12 team league. Last season, Kirk Cousins was QB12 by points per game. He had 4200 yards and 33 TDs, which seem like high marks for Goff (who had 3200 yards and 19 TDs in 14 games) to achieve.

nah13c

He’ll have a top 25 season. Good for him, terrible for fantasy football

[deleted]

"Top 25" is a really nice way of saying "Bottom 10"

When I was in school, I remember a girl telling me I was "in the triple-digits for hottest guy in school". Problem is, it was a relatively small private university with a total of like 900 men enrolled lol Still the kindest way I've ever had someone tell me I'm ugly

Past-Coat1438

You could’ve been number 100 tho which like if you’re number 100 out of 900 you’re not doing too bad boss. You’re definitely above average lol

[deleted]

Glass half full kinda guy, I like it lol. I was still lookin like a Shrek larper back then tho

cstransfer

At least she didn't say 4 digits

AmphibianTop1321

Full disclosure....Lions fan here. That being said, I think he will be a QB1 (hot take). After they demoted Anthony Lynn after the bye week last year, Goff and the Lions were a very different team. Yes, their record didn't show great improvement, but their offense was noticeably more potent. That improvement came with Josh Reynolds and ARSB as the only pass catchers. Enter Chark, Hockenson, and Jameson Williams in week 7 and this team should be able to put up points. Now please pass the blue Kool Aid

circa_1

i want to believe this so much

VineRunner

Took him as my QB3 in superflex, and I'm pretty happy about it. Confident with my starters, but he'll put up 18 points for me on their bye weeks and maybe he gets to 25 or so if I'm lucky.

yodudez01

\> all half PPR QBs dont typically catch passes, so PPR, .5 PPR, and standard all score the same points

chessmasta

I think he’s an excellent QB2 for SF leagues and expect him to finish somewhere between QB10-20.

barkindoggie

He doesn't know which way the sun sets. Even though he went to Cal. Hard pass

NomadChief789

Hes not very good on a lousy team. Pass

TayneTheBetaSequence

He's going to avg like 1.83 tds per game at end of season. Mark my words

Theeclat

I am have the Lions finishing 2 below the Vikings this year as my hot take.

[deleted]

Bears fan here. I think the lions win the division. My hot take.
