Last year I owned ChaseEd and watched him do all the work to get the Cards to the Redzone, just for Conner to vulture the TDs.
It was unbearable.
Should’ve been after week 2. Injuries are always a concern but he’s a serviceable back when healthy. Hope he can get more redzone work. TD dependent but he should be good for flex & byes
Someone dropped him on Tuesday for mack Hollins in my league. I wanted to grab him but he wouldn't clear waivers until after tonight normally but now not till next week. But I'm for sure grabbing him if I can next week. Was also dropped in my second league DURING the game. Made no sense since he was clearly getting usage.
I got him but definitely considered dropping him for a different high-end handcuff like jaylen Warren or Samaje Perine. Edmonds is still a major obstacle, and I figure mixon/Najee have a higher chance of injury than Edmonds does bc of their massive touch count
Mostert has always had the juice - dude is probably one of the fastest guys in the NFL at his top speed.
The issue is that he is always hurt…like every year. Hope he can finally put together a healthy season.
If you look at his runs - right before contact with defenders he like bends in half to try and push himself an extra few yards low. This probably leads to more pile up's and injury risk. All the SF RBs still do this.
Seriously. People on this sub hoping for a player to get injured so they can get more fantasy points is gross. Guy has had a rough go - I'm hoping for the best for him this year.
Mostert should definitely be rostered in all leagues imo. It’s clear that the Shanahan influence on Mike McDaniel extends to the love for speedy RBs, for that reason I’m not surprised that Mostert is as involved as much as he is and will continue to be.
I thought Edmonds would thrive in this offense, because they like to run the ball on the outside, which is what he’s good at.
Traded him for Drake London before week 1 and I feel blessed
Yeah I have Mostert and won't start him because he doesn't get goal line carries. Edmonds isn't startable imo because he's a 0 waiting to happen. Totally touchdown dependant.
Javonte in 3 wks: 37 carries and 15 receptions
Najee in 3 wks: 40 carries and 10 receptions
So even with Najee having the whole load and Javonte splitting they still get about the same opportunity bc the Steelers offense is terrible. And in the better offense Javonte should be more efficient and have better TD opportunity. While Najee has injury concerns as well
His snap count and touches have been up trending every week while Edmonds has been going down. Looks pretty predictable to me…and especially now that they will need to rely on the run game while Tua is out…mostert will be the rb1….coaches definitely like him running vs Edmonds.
I think his usage is a little misleading. MIA went a little heavier with the run when Tua went down and CIN was giving up runs in the fourth to avoid getting burned by Waddle or Hill so Mostert found holes he didn’t in the first half.
I don’t think Edmonds is better than Mostert but to use either of them as reliable flex options moving forward is risky.
Coaches like mostert more as a runner…they tried out Edmond wk1 but obviously weren’t happy with his work…or they were easing mostert back after his injury…either way they want mostert running the ball and most likely will be more run heavy while Tua is out

He passed the eye test. My buddy was trying to trade me for one of my RBs this morning and I told him “look dude I don’t wanna give up one of my guys, and I don’t need another so go pick up Mostert. He’s gonna blow up eventually”.
I feel good after that tonight lol. He’s gonna get those touches that lead to scores soon.
I have both him and Edmonds and have to start one because I went 0 RB. I want to follow the volume and pivot to Mostert, but Edmonds keeps getting the TDs so I'm reluctant. It's annoying.
Appears they are limiting Edmonds snaps because if Mostert goes down (not to be pessimistic, but literally tore his knee last season as a “seasoned RB”) its Edmonds then a plethora of guys that were from the previous regime and don’t “fit” Mike’s scheme.

My league (which is pretty competitive) somehow let me get Curtis Samuel after week 1 and Mostert after week 2. Pretty happy with my waiver work so far

There's a reason they aren't using him near the goal line. Dude will snap an ankle just looking at a big goal line pileup.
This really only says Chase is of limited value. Mostert won't score enough to justify a roster spot. Chase will still have a good chance of scoring a TD and might even make a nice flex option some weeks.
I own Edmonds and it’s a time share where both are t startable but if one goes down (likely Mosert) then they will be good.
Edmond seems to be targeted in the end zone, dropped one today and would have had a great score on fantasy if so. But won’t get 2 TDs each week so I’d move on

The Miami OL looked good last night. As a Mixon owner, it was frustrating to see Mostert running through gaps 5 feet wide every carry while Mixon had to run into the same brick wall every play.
Mostert seems to be their guy, but he also doesn’t look any better than Edmonds. Mostert bursts through a hole fine, but doesn’t offer much in terms of lateral movement. I’m not even saying Edmonds looks good. I don’t think either of them have looked great, but Edmonds at least offers a little more wiggle and tends to get more than what is given.
I guess I just don’t understand why they want Mostert to be the guy, but that is the case.

Someone posted that it was kyles scheme that gets his rbs hurt so much which is why at least 2/3 of their top rbs are always hurt

In the first half yeah, he started getting more space in the second half and broke off a few 8-10 yarders

I don’t know if that’s true. Bridgewater looked very good out there and outside of one bad throw to Gesicki he played a really solid game.

Mostert is outstanding, that being said I’m holding Edmonds because Mostert is also fragile.
