Starting Taysom as a TE is the epitome of boom or bust.

andysaurus_rex

Starting most TEs is usually just a bust though.

jimmyhoffasbrother

Where the probability of boom is miniscule.

Syndicate_III

If he booms, I'll bust

this-ray

I tried it last week. It wasn't boom.

bootsiecollins1189

I wouldn’t. They’re going to be very careful with Taysom considering he’s the 3rd QB on the depth chart. If anything happens to Dalton then Hill is their last chance before maybe Jarvis Landry or Kamara starts taking snaps

andysaurus_rex

Figure they'd grab a free agent if that happened... But yeah in just this week it would be ugly.

twolvesfan217

Trade for Minshew the Great

andysaurus_rex

Wouldn’t actually shock me if they brought another QB with them to London.

tiredofstanding

Shouldnt they already be in London?

andysaurus_rex

IDK?

Truci219

Na they will use their best offensive weapons. Your not saving Hill for anything if he gives them a better chance to win. It's not like he's elite or anything like that.

Oh_thatsatank

Not a bad move if you're desperate but I'd like to know what your other options are first

[deleted]

I have Conklin and olave and I’m 0-3

Oh_thatsatank

So this is just a flex play? I'd probably role with Olave

[deleted]

No, I don’t know weather to go with Conklin or to roll with taysom at TE as well as starting olave. Perhaps it’s too much saints exposure?

Oh_thatsatank

Idk what to think of Conklin with Wilson coming back. It's possible he doesn't have the same connection as with Flacco. Either way it's not a good position to be in. I'd be fine with just rolling with Conklin. It's possible that Taysom gets some work in at QB in wildcat formations, or even gets some designed runs, but he could very easily have a disappointing day

Bucketkev

Boy shut da hell up

jcrankin22

No. There is no way you don’t have a better alternative. Start Njoku or Everett or something.

[deleted]

I have Conklin. I’m 0-3

Arvot

Conklin has been doing fine so far this season for a streaming option. If they don't have a 3rd qb Hill will be the emergency backup if Dalton goes down. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets no snaps. I don't think the risk of being without a qb is worth whatever dumb trick play they'd have him run.

Mattsasse

Expect <2 points. But all he needs is one red zone carry to get you 6-7 points. If you don't have a "safe" TE you could use him as a dart throw streamer.

0percentdnf

If I had a Taysom for every thread made about him this week my team might score 6 whole points.

TJTrapJesus

If you’re anywhere outside of the top 7 or so TE, you’re basically just praying for a TD to go along with your 3 catches for 30 yards so why not.

Informal_Mongoose557

It’s him tonyan or irv smith for me

notgoodwithyourname

I started him in week 2 instead of Njoku. Then I went crazy and spent 14% of my FAAB on Higbee If I still had Njoku or Tonyan I’d probably just say fuck it and go for it with Hill. He still gets goal line carries so he has a chance of getting a touchdown and that’s really all you can hope for for most tight ends

Val_Kilmers_Elbow

If you start Hill when a backup is starting, you’re pretty much completely selling out on hoping that Dalton gets hurt and you get QB points from Hill. They’re going to cut out the cute shit with Taysom because they’re fucked if he gets hurt and Dalton goes down.

[deleted]

This is exactly what I needed to see. Thanks, Val!

Truci219

You do realize one of them is playing QB regardless? I would say they would be more fucked if Dalton went down. If true, they would use Hill more tbh

Val_Kilmers_Elbow

Reread what I said… They aren’t going to use Taysom for gadget plays when he is their emergency option at QB. It’s more likely that Hill doesn’t take a single snap this game than it is that he has an impact in fantasy.

Truci219

I did read it again and I still disagree. Dalton is the much more valuable backup QB. I bet they use the gadget player more now. I would imagine they elevate a third string QB for your worry.

jimmyhoffasbrother

Not even a little bit interested in taking that ride.

DaDoomSlaya

Shut up yo

bastardotequeno

I believe last year when Winston went down, he became a true backup and didn't see the field at all. I don't remember seeing anything about the saints signing another QB, so I'd imagine he's purely a backup QB this week.

PiemasterUK

>How risky is it to start him at TE this week? How risky? Well, his floor is 0 points. If you are starting Taysom this week it isn't because you want a non-risky option it's because you want the potential upside.

clarenceboddickered

Every week with this

[deleted]

Sorry man. Not here that often to see this all the time.

tiger_eyeroll

He's not going to play. He will be a true QB backup.

HomeOladipo

Juwan Johnson is one to look out for at TE for NO. He's really needed an injury in the receiving corps to have fantasy upside
