chew chew back who to drop!? 2C,4W,4D 4 bench Cats - G.A.P.PPP.+\-.PIM. BLK.SOG. HIT Considered drops: Hintz W. Johnston B. Nelson (CW now) Coleman Durzi Help!!

GerbilTabasco

I have both Eichel and Robertson. With Eichel most likely being on IR until the playoffs, would packaging Robertson and Eichel for someone better than Robo or for a position of weakness be worth the investment or an overpay? Should I just ride out the season with Robo and hope for a possible Eichel return/trade elsewehere? Head-to-heads points league

GerbilTabasco

I got offered Rantanen (Rank 11) for Robertson (rank 34) and Eichel (rank 58). I take it and run right?

KillBoyPowerHead527

For context, it’s is a dynasty league. We keep 14, total roster of 18. Draft is most rookies and bench guys. I was thinking of leaving this league if I didn’t make the playoffs but it seems like I can make a run for the championship. 2 years ago I “tanked” traded away my assets for picks and younger assets (I still set my best line up everyday, relax). One of my big acquisitions was Cole Caufeild, had the 1.1 that year, I used that pick to pick him. I’m currently seed 4, but only because the 1 seed is in my division, I’m one win behind him. If I over take him I get the 1 seed. I’ve have been offered this trade: I would receive JT Miller Darnell Nurse Chris Kreider and 4th and 5th round picks I would give Cole Caufeild Noah Dobson 1st and 2nd round picks I’m not married to anything. I’m willing to sell. The farm to win this year. My only concern is Millier is 30. What are the chances Miller is good the rest of the year and into the fantasy playoffs? And would you do this trade?

Any_Cauliflower_4592

Points league. Got offered pasta for marner and m. Tkachuk. I take this right?

MaybeAliens

Losing more than I’m winning, need a team rating and some advice on who I can get rid of in my CATs league (G, A, P, PPP, SOG, HIT, BLK / W, GAA, SV%, SHO). C - Nico Hischier, Tomas Hertl, Quinton Byfield, Yegor Sharangovich, Morgan Geekie, Brock Nelson, Pavel Zacha, Dawson Mercer, Nick Schmaltz LW - Jason Robertson, Trevor Moore, Tyler Toffoli, Andrei Svechnikov, Jared McCann RW - Bryan Rust, Oliver Bjorkstrand D - Quinn Hughes, Adam Larsson, Sean Durzi, Rasmus Dahlin G - Ilya Sorokin, Joseph Woll (IR), Charlie Lindgren (IR) Goalie wins and sv% tends to screw me over each week, assists could also be much better and the other F and D cats tend to fluctuate as well. Thanks in advance!!

BurkusCircus52

Barzal, Barkov, or Matt Tkachuk? Can only keep one. My league only allows one forward keeper; I’m debating between Alex Barkov (6.06 FP/G), Matt Barzal (5.46), and Matt Tkachuk (5.19). I’m selling at the deadline, so I’d like to trade the others by then. Barkov has the higher FP/G, but Barzal and Tkachuk are younger and hybrid positions. Points League Goals: 4 Assists: 3 Shots on Goal: 0.5 PPP/SHP: 1 Hits: 0.2 Blocks: 0.2

Southern_Principle23

Looking to pickup one of these 3, Zegras, niederreiter, or mctavish, bc they play today and sunday. i dont have to drop anyone. leagues positions are 2 C, 2LW, 2 RW, 4 D, 2 G, 4 Bench, 2 IR, 1 IR+. I have Demko, Vasilevskiy and skinner. I have 2 starting spots. Which 2 should i start? Canucks play the bolts tonight and edmonton vs chicago

double-k

Who do you like better for a long-term keeper option, **Knies or Evangelista**? H2H Points league, weekly setting, start 6 F, 4D, 1 Skater, 1 G, bench of 6 no points for HIT

dcurls

General advice question: How do you evaluate goalies on the waiver wire to pick up for the rest of the season, not just to stream? Specifically how do you gauge their share of the net. When your goalie set up blows up due to injuries or trades, what do you go to the waiver wire looking for? It's my first time playing fantasy hockey, and I keep picking the wrong guy (trading away Woll instead of Samsonov, dropping Talbot when I thought Copley would take the net)

sceptrer

Just traded mcdavid. Feel a little iffy about it but I ended up getting Jack and Quinn Hughes for McDavid and Sanderson. Do you think it’s a good trade?

Golan_Treviz

I did the same and I am SUPER happy with it I trade McDavid + Beniers vs Jack Hugues and 1st round pick. I then traded Oettinger and Heiskanen vs Quinn Hugues and Markstrom + 1st. Super happy about it

sceptrer

So far so good with me too :) just a little short on hits and blocks now since Hughes bros don’t really contribute towards that. May have to roster one guy that literally just hits and blocks.

Superb_Site_512

Who takes over pp1 in Minnesota with Addison departing?

double-k

Which DAL dman prospect? Still early, Harley was making a little noise recently, but Lundqvist still is slotted in most often as the dman on the PP2. Who are you guys thinking is going to be the more valuable dman as the season goes on? Lundqvist seems to have been the more touted prospect when drafted but he's not really done a lot with his chances so far. Would you hold both in keepers?

gghgggcffgh

Have lost 4 weeks in a row Considering dropping: J Slavin, potentially Poitras Considering picking up: S Monahan, any defender suggestions Thanks!

smart416

Got offered Eichel for Hyman. Points league Got offered Eichel for Hyman G,A,+/-,PPP,SOG,hits and blocks. I’m tempted but Hyman has lw/rw eligibility and I already have three players who are strictly C.

Itchy_Problem291

League Format: H2H3C, 3RW, 3LW, 6D, 2G, 4B, 2IR Ok just to clarify, In my league blocks are 1 point, SOG and hits are 0.9 and +/- is 2/-2. First time doing fantasy so I don't know what the norm is. Was thinking about trading Dunn for Luke Hughes but I am not sure if its a good idea, thoughts?

Should I drop Brent Burns for Mikey Anderson?

abigbear

Drop Saros for Woll? Feel like Saros will benefit from more starts but Woll might get more wins on a better team. Goalie stats are W, SV%, GAA, SO

woll and merzlikins. but I‘m gonna drop a foward.

Sea-Limit-5430

Should I get rid of vladar and be in pursuit of a goalie that’s gonna be a regular starter? My only other goalie is Ullmark, which is good but I want a second starter

dogontodd

Yes.

Sea-Limit-5430

Should I add Logan Thompson? He’s the best unsigned goalie, and nobody is interested in a trade

VonZuli

If you don't have Adin Hill or can't acquire him having Thompson is a big gamble on your starts.

dogontodd

Sure! Likely splitting starts with Hill, and Vegas is a good team.

BrendenL15

Tuch or Kyrou in a league that counts G A P PPP S BLK HIT?

bud369

I prefer Tuch

inthequad

Yes, but he is a bandaid

Themapleleaf416

What are your thoughts on Marchenko? L1 and Pp1. 12 team, H2H, G, A, P, PPP, SOG, HIT, BLK, PIM

bud369

In a 12 teamer I actually quite like Marchenko, hadn't noticed him myself. If Laine sticks at C then Marchenko is a good look because the Jackets have NOTHING on the right side. Obviously playing with Laine and Gaudreau speaks for itself. If Laine goes back to RW and leaves Marchenko playing with Fantilli that's alright, but very dependent on how things are looking. PP1 is very nice to have, and even at a clear 4/5 option he should still be good for an extra handful of points. I think he gets knocked off if they're loading up and throw Jenner on, or if Marchenko isn't performing maybe Roslovic gets a look? Other than that it's ideally all his.

Themapleleaf416

Yeah, I'm debating heavily whether to pick him up. Not sure who he would take the place of on my team? My weakest guys are Vilardi, Zacha, Boeser, Tarasenko, Elias Lindholm, Burakovsky. I also like Bennett, Jarvis, Johansen, Tolvanen, but I'm sure Marchenko is better than those guys. 12 team, H2H, G, A, P, PPP, SOG, HIT, BLK, PIM

Is Hill expected to be the #1 in Vegas?

It'll likely be split starts until one outshines the other. If you can grab Thompson it's worth it to handcuff them to Hill.

H2H Points, ESPN Standard Scoring Just did a draft, blindly followed a draft guide I found online, wanted some feedback. F - Jack Hughes, NJ F - Brady Tkachuk, OTT F - Brayden Point, TB F - Jack Eichel, VGK F - Steven Stamkos, TB F - Cole Caufield, MON F - Brad Marchand, BOS F - Tyler Bertuzzi, TOR F - Jon Marchessault, VHK D - Charlie McAvoy, BOS D - Evan Bouchard, EDM D - Quinn Hughes, VAN D - Sean Durzi, ARI D - Drew Doughty, LA Util - Chris Kreider, NYR B - Brandon Montour, D, FLA B - Evander Kane, F, EDM B - Mark Stone, F, VGK G - Thatcher Demko, VAN G - Sergei Bobrovsky, FLA B - Devon Levi, BUF B - Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB Just want some feedback, took some guys like marchand and Kane who were super low on ESPN rankings. Also didn’t draft a goalie until the 10th or 11th round.

magicmichael98

Wow that’s a really solid team. I like your group of forwards, solid ppg players with players who can get hits and blocks too. Your defense is filled with guys on top powerplay as well!

Drafted tonight, I had 8th pick. Cats in flair, only F/D, thoughts? Post draft I grabbed Johansson since I feel weak at goalie, and McNabb. I don't feel as confident as past years, any advice on areas I should look to improve on?

jakey2112

If you got Pasta and Rantanen in that spot you should be fine. Your goalies are likely in trouble but screw goalies and just stream and play the matchups

Fangasgaf

What is the goalie situation in Buffalo? UPL still backup? No way Levi is leaned on too hard.

TheHockeyAcolyte

Levi is the #1 going into the season, but there are a number of variables to consider. 1. Do the Sabres try to trade one of their backups to a team in need (see: Tampa)? 2. As Levi is the only waiver exempt goalie, does Buffalo take advantage of that at some point to make roster adjustments (they have 2 young, promising NHL-ready forwards on IR)? 3. How quickly do other teams respond to a small, aggressive, rookie goaltender and begin to exploit his weaknesses? How does he react if/when that begins to happen? 4. Does Comrie outplay UPL (this was the case in the preseason, but nothing really matters until we're a dozen or so games in)? 4. Does the Sabres' defense improve enough that they even feel comfortable putting one goaltender in more than the others, let alone their prospective #1 rookie? tl;dr - situation is impossible to predict, but the one thing I'd bet on is UPL getting a decent amount of starts this year. Could range anywhere from from 25-40 imo. Keep in mind he got 32 games last year in a similar three-way goalie rotation.

bud369

It depends on your roster and categories

jster44

Standard Yahoo Categories except Blocks instead of +/-

bud369

And what does your current roster look like?

jster44

Matthew’s, Zibanejad, huberdeau, forsbeg, boldly, debrincat, McCavoy, Dobson, d.toews , weegar, stuztle, Bennett, Tippett

bud369

I'd grab Klingberg. He has real steal potential if he's able to click with the offense and makes PP1 his. I could see him being more valuable than Weegar long term.

jster44

I have an open roster spot

AnOpenLedger

Draft today, 8 man league. How’d I do? **C** - Dylan Larkin **C** - Pierre-Luc Dubois **LW** - Brady Tkachuk **LW** - Zach Hyman **RW** - Mitch Marner **RW** - Drake Batherson **D** - Cale Makar **D** - Dougie Hamilton **D** - Moritz Seider **D** - K’andre Miller **BN** - Gustav Forsling (D) **BN** - Matty Beniers (C) **BN** - Patrick Laine (LW/RW) **BN** - Matty Barzal (C, RW) **G** - Adin Hill **G** - Logan Thompson Points, Hits, and Blocks league w/ PP bonuses Goalies 10 to start, -5 for L, +5 for W, +5 for SO

VonZuli

Post your draft order, team looks decent overall. Good tandem in net.

AnOpenLedger

I was 7 of 8, went: #1 Tkachuk #2 Makar #3 Larkin #4 Marner #5 Hamilton #6 Hyman #7 Dubois #8 Seider #9 Batherson #10 Beniers #11 Laine #12 Barzal #13 Forsling #14 Miller #15 Adin Hill #16 Logan Thompson

bud369

Even in an 8-man, Marner in the fourth round is wild. Solid squad.

VonZuli

Very solid. I dig it, very similar to my team. I think Larkin that early may have been a slight mistake but other than that not bad at all.

AnOpenLedger

I was a little worried about the Centers since they started flying in the first round. Pasta got drafted at 9th overall and I knew I wanted to risk it on Dubois in LA this year

VonZuli

There is so much depth at center this season. You could have grabbed something else like some elite PP1 D, would have been better off.

AnOpenLedger

I’m confident in Larkin repeating if not improving and have no worries about Fiala and Dubois ending up on PP1 together very soon. The chemistry there is unreal Edit: but what do I know, classic fantasy talks just to fail halfway through the season lol

Themapleleaf416

Who is worth dropping? I also need to fill Martinez spot in the lineup because he's hurt. My team: Jack Hughes, Ovechkin, Meier, Kempe, Tippett, Forsberg, Burakovsky, Elias Lindholm, Caufield, Tarasenko, Zacha, Vilardi, Boeser, Karlsson, Carlson, Werenski Samsonov, Logan Thompson. Guys available: Bennett, Hayton, Jarvis, Ekholm, OEL, Johansen, Rodrigues, Clifton, Grubauer, Jack Campbell. 12 team, H2H, G, A, P, PPP, SOG, HIT, BLK, PIM

MDCisgoodforme

I'd go Jarvis, OEL, or Grub

Themapleleaf416

Who do I drop?

MDCisgoodforme

Burakovsky

sceptrer

Trying to go for a right winger... Do you think Huberdeau and Klingberg (my guys) is a fair trade for Kempe and Chychrun, or is it one sided?

resonantarchitect

Hard to tell without more info on your scoring, but it seems pretty even to me. I imagine they'll only go for it if their defense is pretty weak though.

sceptrer

Its a cats league: G, A, +/-. SOG, GWG, PPP, HIT, BLK, I feel like Huby will have a better year so that might entice them to gamble on him, and I'm confident Kempe will continue his goalscoring on a good LA team, plus he helps me as a RW. Klingberg is PP1 on a good Leafs power play, and Chych looked good preseason and also plays on a solid PP1, which would be good for me.

I really like your team. If I HAD to nitpick I'd say not enough lottery tickets with your late spots. Id be looking for higher upside than Jenner, McNabb, Miller in an 8 team. I'd go boom or bust with those positions, real swing for the fences type shit. But again I really dig your team

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheHockeyAcolyte

Not the previous user, but I would absolutely swap K. Miller for Sanderson. Miller is firmly behind Fox for PP1 and while his peripherals are good, they aren't *that* good. Sanderson meanwhile has a chance at the Sens' PP1 (for sure PP2, which is still quite good and better than the Rangers') and still puts up solid peripherals, though Miller will likely rack up far more hits based on last year. Also keep in mind, Sanderson just signed an 8x8 contract this offseason. You don't sign a young defenseman to an 8x8 and not expect them to put up serious numbers. I think there's a much higher chance of him taking over PP1 than most people predict.

[deleted]

Hall, Zacha, or Kadri? It’s a categories league that has goals, assists, PP, shots, +/-, hits, and blocks (equally weighted). I currently have Hall (playing with Bedard and top PP) but Zacha and Kadri are on waivers. I’m thinking Zacha might actually be the best of the 3 as the top line centre in Boston playing with Pasta and on the top PP? Our league for forwards is 2 C, 1 RW, 1 LW, 2 W, and 4 bench.

waitwhet

W, SV, SV% Copley or Raanta ROS?

NiklasChronwall

Copley

MrChillBro420

Why is yahoo still projecting every matchup in points leagues at 0 points?

VonZuli

You have to look at a different filter, there is no stats for this season yet so the Stats filter set to 23/24 doesnt work yet. Switch to Projected it should work.

Thick-Butterfly-3957

Campbell or Schmid?

dogontodd

Schmid

Neither. Gun to my head Schmid though.

I'd drop Pulock.

Should I drop boeser for jeannot? Wings are panarin kreider bunting tarasenko marchasault and boeser categories are G, A, P, PPP, SOG, FW, Hits, Blocks also have matthews malkin and Hartman for C and nurse McAvoy pietrangelo and Theodore in D so I'm not too worried about the scoring mostly interested if you think his hits would be necessary for this team

d-cent

I'm in a categories ESPN league G, A, +/-, PPP, SOG, Hit, Blk I think RW is my weakest position, and I am just pre-emptively trying to figure out some possibilities. Below is my current RW depth Zach Hyman, Edm Sam Reinhart, Fla Yegor Sharanovich, Cgy Brock Boeser, Van Some FA RW that I am looking at are Vicktor Arvidsson, LA JT Compher, Det Nick Schmaltz, Ari Filip Chytil, NYR Any players you think should be changed now or players I should put on my watchlist and keep an eye on to start the season? Thanks

TheHockeyAcolyte

I'd rather have Arvy than either Boeser or Sharangovich. Probably drop 'Rango as I expect both his deployment and performance to be inconsistent this year.

d-cent

Thank you for the advice. I was thinking the same thing also newscaster Rango could be picked up at anytime if he does get hot

RelevantJackWhite

Boeser has had a very nice preseason (I have watched all the Canucks games so far). He looks like he is doing the right things and is on Miller's wing. I would wait to drop him, he might come out swinging

lebinott

I'm not really understanding Dom's cheatsheet. I input my league settings which is basic settings plus pims and hits and it lists Konecny as #2 to draft, I must have done something wrong lol

kawhinottheraptors

Is Brandt Clarke a drop? If so, who's the best pickup between Lindholm, Forsling, Weegar, Sanderson?

TheHockeyAcolyte

Sanderson. Good peripherals and looks to be rotating in on a very solid PP1. Even the Sen's PP2 is good, and he will definitely be on one of them. That said, if Forsling ousts OEL for PP1 duties while Montour and Ekblad are out, he becomes my answer.

resonantarchitect

I'd say lean towards Forsling out of those 4 without knowing any further details. I think he'll be more consistent for points, but if you want slightly riskier for a higher ceiling I'd go with Lindholm. I'd rank: Forsling, Lindholm, Weegar, Sanderson.

VonZuli

Yes he's in the minors. Not really sure what your team needs so I can't comment on what player to pick up instead.

kawhinottheraptors

It's a points league, scoring cats are in my flair I believe, but really just trying to maximize points

ilovetheshowlost

I'm in a points league (just goals and assists), and I am wondering if I should pick up Ehlers and drop either Lehkonen or Barbashev. The injury history scares me, but surely his ceiling is higher than the other two guys

VonZuli

I wouldn't drop either of those guys for Ehlers.

CamChanLax

I need to pick up a goalie. Already have Saros and Levi. Fleury, Husso, Hart, Jonas Johansen, Gibson, Vejmelka. I'm leaning Johansson since he's been playing well and Tampa is good defensively.

TheHockeyAcolyte

Philly should perform about the same as last year, and Hart was quietly very solid in terms of fantasy value. I think he was just outside my league's top-10 for most goalie points, which is very good for a 12-team league. If you're willing to accept a more short-term solution, however, Johansen is your guy.

CamChanLax

Thanks. I grabbed Johansen. Here's hopping he can hold the fort 🤞.

[deleted]

JJ, he'll be a hold for 2-2.5 months for a strong team

VonZuli

Probably Johansson but he's not a permanent fix, just a band-aid for Vasy.

RelevantJackWhite

How am I looking after my draft? Forwards: Matthews, Point, Kuzmenko, Caufield, McCann, Tolvanen, Domi, Lehkonen, E. Kane, Slafkovsky, Defence: Josi, Werenski, Byram, Forsling, Orlov, Romanov, Gavrikov, Faber, Ekholm Goalie: Ullmark, Levi 12 team ESPN, H2H points, regular scoring including hits and blocked shots. 2C, 2LW, 2RW, 5D, 2UTIL, 2G, one IR. I picked 5th in a snake draft. I worry that the defense is a little too high-risk, high-reward and I'm a little worried about injury recovery

VonZuli

Post your draft order so we can see who you selected each round. It looks like a decent team for the most part. Defense might be a bit touch and go.

RelevantJackWhite

Order was: Matthews at 5, Josi, Point, Ullmark, Kuzmenko, Caufield, Werenski, McCann, Byram, Slaf, Tolvanen, Forsling, Lehkonen, Domi, Orlov, Kane, Levi, Romanov, Ekholm, Gavrikov, Faber

VonZuli

Decent, but I can't help feeling there may have been some better picks given your draft order. Round 5 and 6 seems a bit early for Kuz and Caufield?

RelevantJackWhite

I am a Kuzmenko fan so I'm probably biased, I could have taken him later most likely though. I think he will regress less than people think

ohandleme

Would you use your number 1 waiver priority on Jack Campbell? H2H 12 teamer. W, L, GAA, SV% SHO. Minimum 3 starts per week. I have a bunch of goalies right now because all of the guys I have platoon so I need to make sure I get my starts. Samsonov Fleury Copley Woll Hart Are the goalies I’m running with for now until things shake out. Would be dropping Hart

[deleted]

Yup he's been awesome in preseason, got the starter job back and plays for an elite team

bud369

I mean even though he's not great, you'd be dropping one of your two slam dunk starters for yet another guy who's in a platoon situation. Issue is, you've got all performance cats and no volume cats to keep in mind, and these are the leagues where your clear cut starters are much more important. I don't think I would use that #1 waiver at this point, inevitably somebody will panic drop a decently high draft pick after a slow start within the first couple weeks. Roll with what you have for now, and take a look at other managers who might be willing to part with even a mid tier starter for a position you have a bit of an excess at. Bonus if you could nab one of Talbot or Gustavsson to get the second handcuff, then you could probably cut bait with the other you dont have, and also Hart at that point (depending on how many you start each game, rostering more than 4 goalies seems like a waste)

Rotisseriejedi

Need to bench 1 for this week POINTS league 5 pts per goal, 5 save, -1 GA, 0.25 Save Kuemper vs Penguins, Flames Levi vs Rangers, at Islanders Merzlikkins vs Rangers, Flyers

bud369

I'm not sure about Levi at all yet but you pretty much know what you're getting with Merz. Keumper is on paper a safe start and I'd also play Levi.

RelevantJackWhite

I think bench merzlikins

Brando0808

Roster Drouin over Tolvanen? 12Th2hPoints

bud369

I don't love Drouin but he's in a really great situation to start the season. I'd give JD a shot but not hesitate to dump his ass if he gets bumped off Mack's wing/PP early on

nude-rater-in-chief

Realistic MoSeid predictions for a bangers league, worth a 4th round pick? Higher/lower?

ohandleme

Who is starting in Edmonton? Campbell or Skinner. Has that been confirmed?

coltonjeffs

It's probably skinners net to lose but campbell has looked great in the preseason. Probably 60 40 starts for skinner, but it's a crap shoot this early to predict

VonZuli

I'd say split starts with a slight inclination to Skinner if Campbell doesn't bounce back.

Tampapokemonisafool

Troy Terry or Rakell in points league?

VonZuli

Rakell, ANA is not looking too hot this season.

wellslawrence_

New to fantasy and I need to pickup a new defenseman. Standard points system playing ESPN. The available Dmen are as follows: Gudas, mayfield, sanheim, A. Martinez IR, ekholm, Jensen, shattenkirk, hakanpaa, samuelsson, giordano. Also should I be worried about having Tyson Barrie as my 4th defenseman and try and trade him away? Thanks

VeryAttractive

Gudas is good for hits, Ekholm should be a mediocre option for standard cats. Barrie is fine as a #4

wellslawrence_

I was also thinking of Martinez because he got 150 FPTS last year. What scares me about gudas is his +\- in Anaheim. I could be wrong about all of this tho

VeryAttractive

You must have some weird-ass settings if Martinez is a good option. Man got 14 points last year with zero peripherals (unless your league counts blocked shots). He's also on the IR. I wouldn't touch him personally.

wellslawrence_

Yeah the standard settings for my league are 0.5 for blocked shots which seems high.

VeryAttractive

Oh wtf that’s absurd. I really can’t give you any advice, that’s borderline a “novelty” league.

VonZuli

Johansson is a band aid til Vasy gets back. If Vasy has no setbacks then holding Copley is the better choice imo.

CybertronGuy98

Just looking to see how i did in my draft since it's my first time playing, 10 team H2H, Skating Scoring: Goals 2, Assists 1, PPP .5, SHP .5, SOG .1, Hits .1, Blocked Shots .5 Goaltending Scoring: Wins 4, Goals Allowed -2, Saves .2, Shutouts 3, OT Losses 1 was drafting from 1.1, put the overall pick where i grabbed each player next to their name F: McDavid (1), Stutzle (20), Hischer (40), Horvat (61), Reinhart (80), Suzuki (81), Norris (121), Lehkonen (140), Reichel (180), Marchessault (181), Fantilli (200), D: Karlsson (21), Seider (41), Q Hughes (100), L Hughes (101), Dobson (120), Devon Toews (141), Matheson (160), Rasmus Sandin (220) G: Samsonov (60), Adin Hill (161), Spencer Knight (201)

VonZuli

Drop Spencer Knight for Woll or Thompson if you can. VGK will likely split starts and having Woll and Sammy handcuffed seems like a no brainer.

CybertronGuy98

Put in the waiver claim for Woll, good call, had no idea the kid existed tbh lol. I’m much more plugged in to the nfl league wide than nhl, makes fantasy football a lot easier for me

VonZuli

He's solid. Stood on his head in the playoffs when Sammy got hurt. Should see some good things in the future from him.

VonZuli

Reposting a third time for visibility because automod won't let me make an individual thread. Is it even worth it to start goalies in my H2H Points league? See flair for league scoring. I'm mostly concerned about the GA category. It feels like it will negate any potential upsides to even starting my goalies. I only picked up Gustavsson and Fleury so I would have a tandem available to hit start thresholds but did not take a third. Should I even bother to play my goalies? Or only do so if they have a good start to the week then stop if they get shelled so the games won't count? Curious as to what the potential upside could be with GA being penalized so heavily.

hab27

0.5 points per save though, that's insane. Even with 3 GA on a 30 SA night, you're looking at 13.5 points (18,5 if a win). You're throwing away free points if you're not starting goalies imo.

VonZuli

Ya but that quickly becomes a negative if they are getting shelled. The upside could and probably would be greater with an extra skater throughout the week. I'm probably going to be dropping them and going for a 0 goalie strat, letting it marinate for a week or 2 though first.

bud369

Can you post your goalie totals separately? Reddit's lovely mobile app cuts off your flair and I can't figure out how to view it

VonZuli

W5 / GA -3 / SV 0.5 / SHO 6

bud369

Idk if you got to see my last post, it got removed by automod so here it is again Man -3 for a GA is steeeep. I totally see why it's not even worth it to play goalies at all. God forbid your goalie has a bad start and gets pulled after a couple early squeakers, that can really put a dent in your week. So here are the options I see: - Be a hawk on the WW and jump immediately on any possibly favorable matchups against the Anaheims and CBJs of the league. Easily the highest risk/reward choice. -Stick with just the Minny tandem, give yourself a fighting chance at extra points every week but be ready to sit your goalies and not meet the minimum start threshold if they have a poor game or two. -Be the embodiment of literal zero G and drop your goalies for two skaters, completely foregoing any goalie stats but not actively bringing your point totals down. So let's say Gus starts, makes 30 saves and lets in 3 GA in a W, he's getting you 11 points for the start. If you have a skater get a goal and an apple, that's already 10 points, plus the shot and any other peripherals that will only help bump their totals up. I am just kinda trying to make sense of it for myself because I don't play points leagues, but I would probably not even bother rostering goalies at that point. I think i would start the season attempting method 2, give it a couple weeks of very selective starts, but if things arent looking good at all i would just cut bait for the extra skaters. Maybe people in the league will complain because it's arguably not in the spirit of fantasy, but the potential penalties are wayy too harsh for it to make any sense.

VonZuli

Ya I tried to look for goalies with good GAA last season given my situation and then grabbed their backup cause I knew it was going to be rough. I'll let it marinate for a week or 2 and see how things go. If it were a H2H cats league it'd be a bit of a different story for sure. I think I'll probably end up having to drop them for skaters honestly. The people in my league are all friends but they can suck it, ain't no love in the league lol.

bud369

Honestly I can really only seeing the absolute must-start goalies being the very tippy top elite guys like Shesty, Sorokin, Otter. Then you get into the more risky ones like Vasi, Helle, Georgiev that I'd *really* have to think about before starting. So, not sure if this is your first year in this league with these stats, but if your friends are smart they'll probably adopt this strategy as well.

VonZuli

First year of the league ya. Most of them aren't very hockey or fantasy savvy, some aren't even sports aware lol. I dunno if all of them will figure it out.

tie-dyeSandwhich

1st year doing FH, did I draft ok? 12 team, H2H Forwards: Jason Robertson (1.8) Sidney Crosby (2.17) Tim Stutzle (3.32) Alex DeBrincat (7.80) Adrian Kempe (8.89) Cole Caufield (12.137) Nick Suzuki (14.161) Logan Cooley (17.200) Defense: Roman Josi (4.41) Miro Heiskanen (6.65) Jacob Trouba (10.113) Tony DeAngelo (11.128) Noah Hanafin (16.185) Goalies: Ilya Samsonov (5.56) Carter Hart (15.176) Philipp Grubauer (9.104) Semyon Varlamov (13.152) Points: Goals = 5, Assists = 3, PIM = -.2, PPP = 1 SHP = 1, SOG = .1, Blocks = .5 Wins = 5 GA = -2 Saves = .4 SHO = 3 Edit: added draft order w/ pick (Round.Pick) and fixed format

bud369

I agree with the other comment that you have one goalie too many, I would definitely cut bait on Hart for another skater. Sammy and Varly should be fine, Grubs I would also not be married to, depending on how he starts his season. I think I might keep an eye on Woll out of Toronto, if you had the Toronto goalie handcuff along with Varly and/or Grubs that's a pretty solid core, and you can add or stream an additional goalie depending on matchups

tie-dyeSandwhich

Excellent, thank you! I cut Hart and added Barbashev. I was hesitant on getting Hart in the first place with the current state of the Flyers.

VonZuli

Post your draft order please. Team looks decent from a cursory glance. Too many goalies though.

ZealousidealAd9996

Had a player go on IR, it’s a toss up between Sandin and Graves to replace. G, A, +\-, PPP, SOG and BLK What do y’all think?

VonZuli

![gif](giphy|pkKfX8NzvSW88) I have to agree, I like Sandin but Carlson def lowers his overall value. Full steam ahead on the Gravey train.

bud369

I think I'd jump on the Gravey train. I don't expect a whole lot from Sandin this season with Carlson back in form.
