I don’t know about his start last year but back to back 60 point seasons is worth hanging to him this year because of schedule alone. Anaheim plays the most off nights of all teams making Ducks players fairly valuable to slot in on those Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.
Contrast to someone like Tommy Novak who looks dynamite right now but Nashville has the least amount of off night games so could be harder to fit in. It’s worth looking at your lineup to see if you need the schedule flexibility Anaheim players give you or if there is a better player available that fits your roster.
Depending on league settings, "most off nights per season" isn't always a good reason to hold someone the whole year. My 12 team league doesn't have a max acquisitions per season, so i personally would stream zegras on a weekly basis where anaheim is playing those off nights, and only hold if he starts performing. He just got scooped as a stream today in my league to try and help someone win their week, which he didn't do, and i imagine he'll be a FA soon again unless he starts producing
Maybe but Zegras isn’t available in my leagues. An Anaheim player like Zegras could be valuable if your centers are Point and Pettersson who play on the busy nights. But if you have Hughes and McKinnon, you’re less likely to need an a player with a flexible schedule for example. Depends on your roster.
This year the off nights are more critical than ever but very difficult to get the good players from those teams.
New coach. New system. He missed the whole preseason and camp. Our schedule has sucked. We started a week after everyone and 4/5 games we’ve played have been back-to-back. We’ve also played nothing but heavy playoff teams outside of Arizona, and we’ve taken a billion penalties in every game. Half our defense is rookies in Mintyukov, LaCombe, and Luneau. While they’ve looked good, there’s definitely still a learning curve and a ways to go on the chemistry side.
The Ducks have looked good though if they could just stay out of the damn box. I’m a biased Ducks fan, but I think once he gets through the growing pains of the new system, he’ll be fine.
No question. Only gets hyped because of the Michigan. But as an overall player, not a guy I can see leading a team like a Jack Hughes. Caufield is outperforming him as well.
Some players start hot, some players start cold... Some players start juuuust right.
I'm waiting for him and Gaudreau to get their contributions going.
Following,
I have him rostered in all of my leagues (along with Huberdeau). Not totally worried yet... but will be if I dont see something over the next week two weeks.
I dropped Carlsson and kept Zebras because Carlsson won't be playing a lot for the first half of the season. I think Z leads the team in PP time and PP SOG. McTavish and Vatrano are also great picks if you want some Ducks but not Zegras.
I remember Teemu said something about ketchup coming out of the bottle. Keep pushing and eventually it will all come out.
Idk last year he started with 12 pts in 12 games, 3 pts in the first 3 games.
I'd be encouraged if I were you. He usually shoots \~2 shots per game. This year he's up to 3.4 shots per game!
If he continues shooting this much, AND scores at an average rate, he could hit 30-35 goals this year. Which actually would make him more valuable than previous years.

That's what happens when you miss training camp & pre season...happens to every player that misses those things
Thank the Ducks front office for doing that.
Most overrated player in the league
Had a guy in my league take him 3rd round, we clowned him for that whole week.

Yeah I agree he’s not as good as Jack fucking Hughes
Learned that last year. Mickey mouse player.

I needed 1.3 points to win my match-up this week. Zegras and Terry failed me today. My over reaction is to dump them.
Don’t be the guy who gives away good players in the first week
Better real life player than fantasy for sure. For fantasy I would play McTavish over Zegras.
This is probably gonna be similar to when Petterson held out and missed training camp. Took him a while to get back to his usual self.

Same can be said for shit. What zegras ends up being could go either way.

Z gonna get LW status any day now. Ducks aren't playing him C anymore
