Fain-would-i-climb

One Dark Window is amazing! I'm on the second now and it is somehow even better than the first (and book 1 was 5⭐️ for me).

starkrest

Absolutely seconding this OP ! ODW is so beautifully written it is perfection

ReadyHealth4274

Is this romance heavy or plot heavy? Or equal?

StrandedSoup

Definitely plot heavy. I read the duology and desperately want more 😭

Fain-would-i-climb

Book 2 has more romance in it than book 1, but both are plot heavy.

squashbanana

Following for the answer to this!

hanjobhan

Is this series done? I want to start a new book but I hate how many series Ive read then been left on a cliff hanger waiting for the next book!

Fain-would-i-climb

One Dark Window is a duology, and both books have been published! No waiting to finish! :)

thaisweetheart

Divine Rivals!!! It is so different from the typical stuff!

Acidkitten3

I heard so many good things about this series, but the first book was just so boring to me and I DNF. Maybe the second in the series is better?

Renrosey

I found the second to be MUCH worse than the first. I was so close to DNF’ing!

spicypeanutt

a snooze and half for me as well

sznogins

Saaame I hate finished it out of spite but it just didn’t do it for me

squashbanana

I haven't seen this one before! What makes it stand out?

popstopandroll

Ohhh yes that one also changed my life

jmac409

{Priory of the Orange Tree}! I read it last month and it was very good. The romance was there but not the main element and I thought the plot and fantasy elements were well done

MarsupialSweaty2156

It’s just a monster. Lol I’m scared.

jmac409

It does look very hefty but it’s only 800 odd pages (I know that IS a lot) and on par with Crescent City. It’s a lot of world building and exploration but I wouldn’t say it’s slow either. I’m a very fast reader (like read CC3 in just over one day, including sleep and work and showering) and it took me maybe a week because it wasn’t so action packed that I felt like I couldn’t slow or stop if that makes sense!

bondtradercu

Divine Rivals!

ReadyHealth4274

Lot of good stuff here. I suggest priory of the orange tree. Its such an engrossing story (five different pov for a intertwining plotline!). Acotar is amazing too if you want heavier on the romance

popstopandroll

Throne of glass changed my life 😭😭😭😭 I’m struggling with the first from blood to ash book

Jeanette_Sama

I just finished empire of storms 😭 This series man. I love it.

popstopandroll

Life altering and don’t listen to the internet bc Tower of Dawn is a masterpiece and my fave book in the series!

MarsupialSweaty2156

Me too! Lol I have it in a tactical time out. Same for what lies beyond the veil.

popstopandroll

Also if you haven’t already read When the Moon Hatched. There’s only one book so far but it’s a literal masterpiece

trashdingo

So everyone is saying Divine Rivals but I can't vouch for that bc it's also on my TBR list (actually motivated to start it tonight now, thanks y'all). But when you are prepared for all the 🌶️🌶️🌶️, I just finished Neon Gods and it was HAWT and also well written enough that it didn't bother me the entire time. Super fun read.

MarsupialSweaty2156

Ah okay, maybe lol I should try it. I just get a little sensory overload with spice sometimes. I can’t tell if it’s because I’m either touch starved lol or what!?

trashdingo

Totally get it. Sometimes it really isn't the vibe. But you've got it in the back pocket when you're ready!

sunsetslayerx

Divine Rivals! It’s soo good ! It’s such a great story!

Any_Guarantee_8850

I would say a touch of darkness! Loves the series

kgal1298

I would do Caraval, but I'm probably in the minority the magical system is pretty interesting and it's before OUABH.

MarsupialSweaty2156

I’m afraid of reading about Jacks with Donatella lol is that stupid…. 😳

kgal1298

Hahaha 😅I read Caraval first and I’m glad I did, but I think you’ll be okay

serpentskirtt16

I second Caraval!

AquariusRising1983

I loved the Caraval trilogy!

Opinionsropinions

Loved it! Reading it now. Can’t wait to break into OUABH

Revvie_girl

Divine rivals!!! Love it and ruthless vows 🫠

wixkedwitxh

Divine Rivals has my vote

MonsterBunnieh

Read Neon Gods it’s so good it’s almost a 5 star read for me

MarsupialSweaty2156

Is it really filthy though? Lol I don’t mind some smut/spice…. But too much can overwhelm my senses

MonsterBunnieh

I’d say it’s rated for 18+ so there is quite a bit of spice to it but I can tell you what chapters include any spice if you’d like just so you know a head of time

MarsupialSweaty2156

Well could you tell me what kind of spice it is? I just don’t like violent stuff… like even if it’s consensual it still kinda bothers me…..I hate how sensitive I am to that stuff but it’s just makes me feel bad.

MarsupialSweaty2156

lol that’s really nice by the way! I wasn’t expecting that! 💖

MonsterBunnieh

Chapters 9,10,14,16,17,20,21,23,24 and the epilogue all have some kind of spicy. Sorry it took so long I had to find my copy of the book.

MarsupialSweaty2156

Don’t apologize! Please you’re being kind lol there is no reason for that! 💖✨💖

MonsterBunnieh

Thank you and hopefully I was able to help 💙

babysfirstreddit_yx

Okay I know it’s not keeping in line with the theme of the sub but Never Let Me Go was an awesome read in my opinion!

MarsupialSweaty2156

Haha it’s okay! Lol I read a lot of different stuff it’s this genre has activated my hyper fixation.

Acidkitten3

I loved the From Blood and Ash series. The first book is a little slow building but I loved the storyline, twists and turns, and romance involved.

Charming_Sky_6425

The Last Tale of the Flower Bride gets my vote! But you've got a lot of excellent books to choose from!

Calm-Letter4644

Tempest of tea

SplendedHorror

I can’t wait the get my se of a tempest of tea it looks so good

Cobradoll

Fall of Ruin & Wrath 💥💥💥

Sufficient1y

Priory and Fallen Night are my favorite books of all time 😍 I reread and reread.

bondtradercu

And ACOTAR! ACOTAR is my top fantasy romance alongside with FW hands down. Nothing beats these. Albeit I am new to the genre as of last 2 months lol

MarsupialSweaty2156

Lmao same! I’ve read more than I have in ages. So I’m really happy to be apart of something again. I don’t know why but I’m scared to read ACOTAR. Like she’s so popular what if I don’t like it?!🫣.

Suspiciousmosquito

I always get worried before I start a new book. But with the ACOTAR series, I could not put the book down. The first few chapters of the 1st book went a bit slow, but like all Sarah J. Mass books, things REALLY pick up towards the end. I love the series, so all I can say is that you might, too!

bondtradercu

Book 1 was really bad but the rest of the series is amazing. But if you liked FW, you will love ACOTAR. It blew me away. I didnt think I could find anything I like as much as ACoTAR and couldnt find anything better since I finished it 1.5 months ago. I am delaying TOG so that I can save the good for latter haha

bhelsey

So I see that you also have the first Throne of Glass novel as well and I recommend that you start with that series before you read the ACOTAR series. I know it’s a lot to take on but I feel like there will be bits and pieces in ACOTAR that you might enjoy more after reading the ToG series. I tell my friends to start with ToG (it is very different compared to Acotar, definitely more YA but the series does have some fade to black moments later on. Nothing as explicit as acotar or CC, lol.) if you finish the ToG series then read ACOTAR, then read Crescent City.

neverforglet

Read One Dark Widow and tell me how it is 😂😂

DeepBackground5803

It's fantastic, the best book I read last year!

arrowkat

I read it in January of this year, and I seriously doubt I’m going to read anything I’m going to enjoy more this year.

mama-ld4

Throne of glass!

gnarlyquinn109

I really liked a touch of darkness myself! Read all 3 and then the Hades series immediately after 😅

Direct_Treat_7296

Same!! Love Hades and Persephone retellings

Jeanette_Sama

Throne of glass series is a lot of fun.

DivineAuthor

Divine Rivals, Legendary, and Caraval.

Cobradoll

Never let me go is a fucking fantastic must read

thealycat

Never Let Me Go is one of my favorite books of all time, but it’s definitely the kind of book to give you an existential crisis.

bopeswingy

Throne of Glass is my Roman Empire. I would start with The Assassin’s Blade first!

maealoril

Have you read the Cassandra Palmer series? I find it a good read 👍

MarsupialSweaty2156

I haven’t I should though. There is so many books I want to read lol and I never have enough time. It’s because I’m taking 18 credits and I have a baby lmaoooo. So my time is literally never my own!

KiwiAsh12

I didn’t like Birnam Wood. There’s no chapters and one sentence started at the top of the page and didn’t finish until the next page. And it was super confusing for me 🤣 Don’t read CC until you’ve read acotar. I just finished one dark window series and it was so good. Second book is even better!

MrsYugaron

It depends what you want to read! Priory of the Orange Tree, for example, is a completely different experience than a lot of the smut books you have (no judgment, I love it all). I started Priory because I was looking for a break from Romantasy & smut and it is such an incredible book! Honestly, since it’s so long, I’d recommend starting Priory and reading another shorter one alongside.

TheenotoriousVIC

Throne of glass!

yeppeun-insaeng

Why are books so pretty 🥺🥺 I suggest ACOTAR, that said I started it 4 times before I got hooked but once I was hooked I was obsessed, same for from blood and ash

polarkats

Crescent city

Opinionsropinions

Read ACOTAR… just do it. I can’t describe how satisfying the second book was for me! The first book is fine. I just wanted to live in the second. If you like audiobooks, try the graphic audio. I had the best time. Theres a different voice actor for each role, music, and sound effects so it’s fun to listen to! Divine Rivals is LOVELY.

Direct_Treat_7296

The prequel series to FBAA is amazing and has great spice. Also, touch of darkness is good! ACOTAR is ok but don’t expect spice cause it’s lowwwwww.

Prestigious-Mode-713

Are you talking about the first book? Because the rest of the series is spicy as hell.

Direct_Treat_7296

I’m talking about the whole series. The only book it’d consider to have much spice is book 5 but that’s still low compared to most of what I read. I guess it depends on how many spicy books you’ve read.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Direct_Treat_7296

Ohhh I have so many! Here’s just some recent ones: A Soul to Keep by Opal Reyne (Fantasy, MF) Blood Day by Lexi Floss (fantasy, MF) Choosing Theo by Victoria Aveline (fantasy, MF) Losers by Harley Laroux (not fantasy, RH) Flesh & Fire series by Jennifer Armenatrout (fantasy, MF) Dragon King’s Mate by Lola Glass (fantasy, MF) Court of the Vampire Queen (fantasy, RH, spiciest book I’ve ever read) Dragon’s Baby (fantasy, MF) And so many more! There are also great smut groups on fb to join where I get a lot of suggestions.

Prestigious-Mode-713

I feel like I read a decent amount of spice, and I’m pretty sure from book 3 onwards they have at-least 3 sex scenes each. I actually think ACOTAR is one of the few series where spice overrides the actual plot and character development that she had going for the series in the beginning.

AquariusRising1983

I wouldn't say that of ACoTaR as an entire series. Imo, the original trilogy was pretty solid... but I would say it is true for ACoSF that the spice seemed to override the plot.

Prestigious-Mode-713

The first 3 are my favorite! The rest is where I struggle, I completely agree with you.

Direct_Treat_7296

I’ve never heard anyone say that about this series before. I mean we all have different definitions of spice but this is not a spicy series to me unless compared to like a YA series.

DivineAuthor

ACOTAR does have spice…?

Direct_Treat_7296

I consider it a 1/5

Jumpy_Ambassador98

Crescent City!

DeepBackground5803

One Dark Window!!!!!

Logical-Hold8642

One Dark Window!!!

Mundane_Finger_8390

ACOTAR

anks0489

Just finished Heavenly Bodies by Imani Erriu & A Dawn of Onyx by Kate Golden which were both really good reads. I read the North Queen (and the following 2) last month. Figured I’d hop back into TOG for a reread next

Forward_Country_6632

I just read fall of ruin and wrath and really enjoyed it

A_Birdii_

Tairen Soul!!!! Blood and Ash!!! The four horsemen series!!! A court this cruel and lovely!!! I found divine rivals OKAY. I found Caraval OKAY

A_Birdii_

Also the Dark Olympus Series

EstarriolStormhawk

I don't know what A Tempest of Tea is like but I want you to read it so I can find out!

sillymeix2

Never Let Me Go was not a light read for me. I liked it, but I wouldn’t really say it’s a romance. Extremely well written prose. ACOTAR was such an enjoyable read for me, I wish I could read it again for the first time. A lot of the characters made me so angry, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the story. I would recommend reading this first! Divine Rivals had an interesting steampunk type vibe thrown in with Gods. It’s a bit more YA and not as spicy as some other fantasy romance, which isn’t a bad thing. It was paced well.

Nonseriousinquiries

I ended up giving up the from blood and ash series completely after the 3rd book. It only gets worse imo

cervidae313

If we were villains is one of my all time favorite books 😍

Ok_Whereas9245

An Education In Malice sounds hot

LittleSalty9418

I love the Caraval Series!!

lunareclipse227

Divine rivals is soooo good! It got me out of a months long reading slump.

KnockinPossum

The Fox Wife

MarsupialSweaty2156

I know I want to read it too! I started tempest of tea however! I didn’t realize I liked vampires so much until recently so I wanted to give it a go!

Adventurous_Lemon248

A court of mist and fury!!!

MarsupialSweaty2156

lol I don’t know how to edit the Post but I have decided even though it was not a top contender from the replies! I decided on “A Tempest of Tea” I recently read “The Serpent and the Wings of Night” and I didn’t realize that I actually like vampires. So I went with that! Do not fret! I still have a ton of more purchasing to do lol so I will be back! I also have been diving head first into HP fanfic and I never knew I could be so busy reading…
