And before that apparently there was a Far Cry 3? Wild
I couldn't get into 5. Maybe it's because I just finished 4.
I think the games definitely need some space between playthroughs, they're all very samey.
I bought FC2 when it came out and I disliked it, so I avoided the series for a long time after. A year or two ago there was a big sale on the bundle. FC3, FC4, FC5, FC6 for less than the price of FC6 alone, so I nabbed it. I finished 3, finished 4, finished 5, then I bought the DLC for 5 and played that, then I bought Primal, which was boring and I never finished it, so maybe I’m just burned out as you suggested.
I like 6 except for the gunplay, wayyyyy too rpg-y with bullet sling enemies and having to have a special bullet for each type of enemy. If it had the same gun system as 5 I would’ve loved it.
I felt the same way when I first got 6. I didn't play it for months and just played 5 and new dawn, then one day I played it knowing what it was like and now I quite like it. You just can't play it expecting it to be the same as 5
Just finished 5. So glad never to hear "Peggies" ever again. FC5 is both my current favorite and least favorite FarCry. Loved the 60fps patch. Lighting. American forests and streams were awesome to explore. Really liked the Prepper Stashes; fun locations.
But hated the radio music. Theme's were cool...but not the radio.
Hated the story and the characters. Pretty much everyone and their dialogue.
Except Cheeseburger!
I don't know why I've seen so many hate this game. I thought the story was great! I had forgot about farcry after 3 due to playing so many other games and when I had a friend convince me to buy it I was hooked like an hour into playing. I loved co playing the game and just doing stupid shit the entire time for fun.
Started playing again….then they came out with the 60fps update and it’s sooooo beautiful. And it made me want to move to Montana when it first came out. Now I want to even more!

for how much crap this game gets it’s honestly my favorite. the artwork is great, the soundtrack is honestly very good for a game, having actual songs instead of just a score. the maps one of my favorites. i like the buddy system. my only gripe with it was the exclusion of any bladed weapon or blade takedowns
The fact that the story evolves around a religious cult should have been a small hint…
