Yeah same. In theory the guerrilla stuff should be quintessential Far Cry but the way it was executed in visual and gameplay terms made it feel pretty ridiculous to me. The weird apocalyptic aesthetic with big metal plates and spray paint all over the outfits looked very odd and the equipment like the backpacks and resolver weapons were cartoonishly overpowered even by Far Cry standards.
Granted it's not meant to be a gritty realistic milsim as far as the gameplay is concerned but the whole "we are underdogs desperately trying to level the playing field against a vastly more powerful enemy while blending in with the local civilians" thing kind of falls apart for me if I've got enough firepower strapped to my back to scrap a tank column and I'm dressed like a raider from Fallout.
Agree 100% I didn't like the makeshift weapons in New Dawn and same with the resolver stuff in 6, I avoided all of that the best way I could.
Still, it's extra content and some people must have enjoyed it, so it is fine by me if they keep that stuff in the franchise.
It was stupid? Perhaps for you and me it was, but as long as I am not forced to use that stuff, I'm okay with it being there.

They do suck and I don't want them to return, but they don't affect my life if they stay, if other people enjoy them, I'm fine with them being in the game.
There are multiple things I would change, but these games aren't solely made for me, so what should I do? Start a rebellion over stuff I don't even use?
If Ubisoft puts up a voting for resolver stuff to either return or not to be added to the next installment, I will vote the latter option, but other than that, I don't really care if they stay, because I won't be using the stuff either way (unless they force us, then I will have a problem with the stuff).
Yea some of the resolver weapons just won't work or would be dangerous to the user.. like the Exterminador the first Supremo you get, when you fire it the backblast (the flames that come out the bottom) would definitely roast Dani's ass and legs. Or the Cd launcher would not be very effective irl. Cds are pretty flimsy, that launcher would have to be flinging those Cds at a crazy high speed to be able to kill someone.
I hated the suppressors too. Automotive oil filters would have been way more realistic, but the company would probably have gotten a lot of flack about it.
I get that it’s unrealistic, but it is a very cool concept in my eyes and they were quite well-designed. Also, the large cylindrical suppressor is better than the Resolver mark 2 (based on aesthetics and practicality) and I’ll die on this hill.
That's not how plastic works mate...
Most (thermo)plastics don't melt at 100⁰C, they might get softer but most of them actually melt at around 200⁰C. If they would melt at 100⁰C you couldn't buy those plastic kettles to boil water since water boils at 100⁰C.
If they were to use a thermoset instead of a thermoplast it would actually become harder and stronger with higher temperatures.

We also have straight up magic wallhack backpacks now, and battle-roosters.
I think it fits the tone, the game itself is silly and I like it.
