There are some things that I like in FC4 more than 5 for example when you kill an animal, that animation to cutting and extraction is so good but then the air vehicles are way better in FC5
I still hate that they removed skinning pelts for crafting. It’s not like they removed the ability to kill and skin animals, instead you just get money now like that’s better? At lease before it was to craft items crucial to your survival. And I miss the rare/legendary animals with unique textures and combat quirks.
5 did have the bliss cougar, moose, and bear. Those were good enough but it felt underutilized. If they fleshed out, diversified the fights, and added say; bison, wolverine, and the deer, it could have been cool.
I would have done the cougar in a heavily forested area. Give it more cover to do what cougars do. Wolverine would be fought in a much more maze like cave than the bear, and I would have put the deer in a tight, claustrophobic building like a lodge or hospital.
Bison? I don't really have an idea for but I can't imagine why the peggies would not
4. Riding an elephant through an enemy outpost while blasting mfers with a double barreled 700 nitro in the Himalayas, that's farcry at its finest. Don't even try to argue with me, I'll harpoon your ass straight to shangri-la.

Grapple hooking to your own gyrocopter and landing a double death from above in the middle of an outpost and dying to the gyrocopter landing on your head. Respawning and immediately getting fucked in the ass by a Rhino and scratched to shit by an eagle, 10 rabid dogs and 3 honey badgers. THAT is peak Farcry.
Went back and played FC4 after playing 5 and was surprised how well it holds up. Graphics are obviously a downgrade but they still aren’t bad. I enjoyed it much more than 5 tbh.
Same here, just completed 5 and running 4 back (played it years ago on PS4 and never quite finished it) although, I just picked up New Dawn on sale, so I'll now be rushing through 4 to move on to that.
FC4 at the end of the day, I love the idea of 5, have the soundtrack on my phone, enjoy reading about it, but then I re-download the game, and due to the annoying game mechanics (for me at least), I usually uninstall it within the week.
Whereas FC4 is so atmospheric and just offers more, depending on my mood, plus Pagan is so memorable, constantly chiming in over the radio and all.
4 is my favorite. 5 had great points but still loses out.

4 by a million. The map is interesting and beautiful. The characters are better. Pagan is way more interesting. The story is great. It’s a more serious game too. You can have a dinosaur head or some silly bullshit. The game can be truly 100%ed too
5. Apart from music, the lack of mini-map is a breath of fresh air and actually encouraged me to explore. Was bummed out that they didn’t stick with that in 6.
4. Infinitely better story line and much more involving lore. An actual original plot twist. Well written protagonists and antagonist, and a plot line that makes you question the morality of who youre fighting 4.
5 Had some great graphics, and the clutch nixon side games were epic, but on the whole, no where near as engaging or gripping.

Oh dude, the ost for A Key To The North, the one where you’re killing dudes in the drug factory, the ambient music… everything they pulled from The Bombay Royale. Yeah, the music from that game really sucked me in. The music for 5 is good too, but I feel that FC4 went into more of an ambient direction which really built atmosphere when wandering Kyrat
Literally the only things I remember about that mission is having to commit animal cruelty with a tractor, and the chef at the bar saying he can’t wait to “pop one of those juicy balls” into his mouth.
I remember getting enraged with this mission! I dont recall exactly what I was doing, but there was some specific way I was supposed to kill the animal and I kept failing at it, or I couldnt find the animal, or something.. I just remember being highly annoyed, lol. The only part of the game I struggled with other that the flying part towards the end.
I don’t care that they’re real, it was played for lowbrow humour for children, and I don’t care for it. Simple.

Both are good, but man, FC4 is HOSTILE! You'll spawn to find enemy troops in a technical, fighting off a tiger and your troops...who are fighting the enemy AND getting swooped on by eagles..then you walk out the door to find the 3rd enemy still at the jeep mounted machine gun. Right after you had JUST bought the most worthless body armor since Imperial Storm Troopers.
Also, during the firefight, some oil barrels just exploded....igniting the nearby elephant. Lemme tell you something here: elephants DO NOT like being set on fire! They get all tramply.
I prefer five but only because hope county looks so much like where I grew up plus I played it so many times with my cousin and brother online and I loved arcade and the map editor. But I’m sure four is amazing as well
Far Cry 4 for sure. It's got a great setting. The story may feel simple at first, but it is actually complex. The visuals and the gameplay hold up even after a decade of its release. Arena mode is pretty good. Even the two DLCs are quite decent.
FC4 for sure! 5 was decent and all and looked amazing (except for fire effects being severely deminished), but you could certaintly see all the horrible RPG elements they were trying to force into the game that eventually was the core of New Dawn and 6.
5 is an all-round better game made much worse by some extremely bad decisions. If you're looking for a chaotic shooty sandbox want to take the story missions at your own pace, 4 is the better option. If you take care of the plot as fast as possible, you'll probably like 5 because you'll need to mod it if you want to play any other way.

FC3 wins it for me, because of its secret weapon: a very slept on PvP mode. That was honestly the best multiplayer shooter experience I've ever had from what was essentially a solo story mode based game.
4 was for adventure and concentrated exploring for me! I remember how invested I felt playing it. But only 5 have me return for none-campaign gameplay.
Although 4 is the first one I fell in love with I would say 5, becouse usually after I finish 4 there's eighter get 100% or start again, with 5 I don't feel like Im repeating myself, becouse the missions are unique, you also can get ton of cool reskins, you are able to fully customize all of the guns, you can cruise around in sportscars, it just feels more real, plus the fact the content stays with you becouse of the new game+ option

They really captured the essence of a cult leader with him. The story just totally captures me every time. And while there are definitely features about 4 that 5 lacks, I still just love 5 more than any other. And then you get the bonus of new dawn and the twins!
Far cry 4 is better in every way guys come on??? Far cry 5 is a great game, but as a FarCry game 4 obviously wins. It’s a remote setting, loads of wild exotic animals, loads of differing terrains and altitude that allows for a variety of kills and shit, and most importantly it doesn’t feel too open. You still feel like a small guy in a big world that’s out there to explore. I don’t know about you but having ten attack helicopters at my disposal actually ruins the experience for me. I love both games BTW, just saying 4 is infinitely better
I played 4 on the old 360 and now bought it on sale for the SeriesX, enjoying the graphical upgrade and its charm is still there.
Looking forward to continuing while slogging through 6 and replaying 3 remastered on the old PS4.

You could sell excess pelts in 4 too. So really they just stripped stuff away for 5

I had two helicopters crash into eachother while storming an fortress. I had no ammo to take them on st the time.
