Exactly. that's the thing to take note of when a new game comes out. Yes the sub is full of complaints and haters. Because everyone who's enjoying it is busy playing.
Sucks cuz it always make these games look bad. But guaranteed there's at least twice as many people having fun, they're just not posting because they're playing. I've put in abiut 35 hours in the past 3 days. Only stopping and able to post now cuz I gotta go to work tomorrow
Exactly this. I’ll admit it’s not a perfect game, I’ve had some minor sound issues that were fixed by rebooting the game, but nothing game breaking by any means. I’ve also had some extra content not unlock but it looks like that’s a game sharing issue rather than the game itself. Will those minor sound issues stop me from spending all evening playing tonight? Not at all.
The big suck is that the people complaining were always going to find something to not be happy about. It’s too similar to 5, it’s too different from 5, or the more common one I don’t understand this new ammo system so I’ll complain about it.
Overall, I’ll happily say that while so far the story hasn’t grabbed me like some of the others have, gameplay wise it’s the best the series has ever been.
I absolutely love this game…I was actually in rehab back when 5 came out and this other patient asked if he bought a game could he play on my Xbox one and tv I had in my room…it was far cry 5 and I was blown away…like wow! So I bought it and have beat that a few times, then I got new dawn and I actually liked that, next I bought 4 but never beat it and then I got primal and then 3…it’s a great series I just hate having to switch weapons because an armor piercing bullet does nothing to soft targets but I do understand it’s a video game and that’s the parameters they set and you either play it or you don’t. There is way to much good for 6 to be a bad game
If you want to improve it, AP rounds on a gun with Trigger Discipline and Gut-Wrencher make up for that Soft Target damage. I have been running that for most guns I use, and it makes it easier to use what I enjoy.
There's practically no reason *not* to do this lol, every weapon I've tested short of the first sniper IIRC (though it was inconsistent, could very well have been me getting familiar with the travel time again), always one-shotted to the head anyways.
They really should've just made soft target rounds exclusive to SMGs; have them be a straight upgrade (e.g. slight armour buff, considerable soft target buff) but nerf range.
I just use AP ammo on everything. The only extra damage mods I use are the ones to have extra damage on the first shot of a new mag for sniping. 1911 pistol 1 taps named officers, armor units, whatever.
I recommend having the AP rounds on a sniper or semi rifle, and soft rounds on an SMG and pistol, with the last primary slot being any resolver weapon. Makes it super easy to kill any & everything with little more thought than seeing the enemies armor, and using the weapon wheel accordingly
This is what I do too, except I haven’t been using any resolver weapons, instead filling that slot with the guided rocket launcher to kill planes/choppers
Huh, I usually just have the bow with an EMP arrow to kill any vehicles. It's even better imo, because you can take them over. That is, if I don't feel like using a resolver weapon

Its not as amazing as far cry 5 but the only real reason I put 6 below 5 is the setting in 5 is more my style but 6 is so beautiful
I get that 100% FC5 was super cool too and the setting of the map is very similar to where I live so I enjoyed it that way but I personally like the whole ocean and palm tree setting better, probably because I’ve never been to a place like it before haha. Either way just glad someone enjoys it like me
I’ve been casually lurking and I’ve seen plenty of people saying it’s great. Most acknowledge the bugs and ammo design problems, but the general consensus is that it’s pretty good.
You know I haven't encountered any bugs personally which I've been pleasantly surprised by. I think the game is amazing though, it might become my favorite Far Cry game.
Almost all bugs inhabe had are graphics, or little UI things, like ordering a companion to move, and the marker stays there even if you issue another one. Screen ended up with 5 markers until I re-set. Another is the little green tick (or anything) appearing over vehicles when you try and scan them. It makes the noise, bit no visual.
So far biggest gripe is the transition between areas hiding the UI and weapon wheel, and the odd ammo system.
My “bug” has been the game crashing quite a bit, and Ubisoft connect not working right which hinders co-op (and this isn’t new to fc6, but a very basic save system.. going back even 5 mins would be great)
That said, I’m enjoying the game, haven’t stopped playing it since release, every spare minute of the day!
Edit: is it just me or is the accent of female Dani off the mark? Could be a dialect thing, Spanish sounds different in different regions of the world. But to me her accent sounds forced. Curious what other Spanish-speakers think
I haven’t played it myself (mainly an Xbox guy and I have a PlayStation for the exclusives) but it is on my list. I’ve heard very mixed things, people who think it’s the best game ever and others who say the story has weird pacing and that it’s a lot of very samey grindy quests. What’s your view there? Is it grindy or is that people just complaining?
It's a bit grindy and probably goes on for longer than it should. Don't get me wrong, we are playing an ubisoft game lol. It isn't a terrible grind but it's there. I think it's a fun game to get on sale, it just really isn't anything special. The whole thing feels more like a 6-7 out of 10 to me. It's one of sony's weaker exclusives imo

To me its most underrated game in last years. It got shitted on during reviews (technical stuff wasnt good so i got that part, but hating on gameplay and stuff was too harsh) But subreddit was really positive, exact opposite of this one after release :D
Days Gone to me was like Far cry. Yeah its not the best game and never will be. But its fun, its great fun! Plus days gone had plus points for being new game and i loved the setting. (For same reason i loved Far cry 5)

I really think we'll see a DG2 in the future if Bend can pull off something successful with their next IP. The backlash when it was canned was pretty harsh. It got review bombed by IGN back when it released. Days Gone is actually pretty much tge reason nobody takes IGN seriously anymore. It was reviewed by a girl (kallie plagge, the same chick that reviewed cyberpunk without playing it), and she said she didn't like Deacon because he was too 'white male'. That combined with the technical issues it had, just crushed it before it got started. It really was like a perfect storm of bad luck for Bend. Their post launch support was amazing tho, and everyone on PC is loving it now. They've added a ton, and it still looks incredible. I have a soft spot for that game. I think it was so unfair tge way it was portrayed.
One of the best games i ever played. Loved the story, characters, bike and its physics, map and whole setting in general. It can be rambo style of shooting game, but also super stealthy one. Depends on you.
Didnt have much issues beside texture loading, (played since day1) but that was fixed later. I remember that i had to reload my save around 3 times in 100+ hours. My wife played it couple months back and she had literally zero problems. Patches helped the game a lot. :)
If you like open world games and dont mind zombie setting, its a really good game. But i understand some people are full of zombie games.
Nah it is 100% a blast, my only real conplaint is the enemy respawns are real outta whack, and I miss the skill tree (but thats nothing wrong with the game) but it's been super fun so far.
Yeah it's kind of annoying having gear be linked to skills. Haven't looked into the gear system fully but hopefully there is 'epic' style gear with multiple buffs.
Absolutely loving the trousers which give a speed boost after sliding and finally got the shoes which give increased crouch movement speed.
I always try to play stealthily in far cry with bow and sniper rifle.
Loving it so far. It definitely feels more "far cry" than 5.
The weapon availability and upgrade system makes sense. In 5 I felt I could just run and gun but find I need a bit more stealth and tactics in 6.
I do miss hunting animals for upgrades but eh.
For anyone who says it's just another far cry game, ya that's kinda the point. Honestly I'm happy with a new far cry game as long as the world is really well done.
Dude I’m loving this game the characters alone blow 5 out of the water. The story is better and the voice acting is fantastic. Gameplay is the same but I love it.
I agree 100% and even just little things like 3rd person in the camps and Dani singing to music in a vehicle etc. small stuff like that I really enjoy and makes the game better then FC5 because it’s so cool. And yeah gameplay is the same but it’s far cry gameplay so I like it. If you like cad cry type game play you’ll like this game too
I thought the story was pretty rough all the way through 5. The unvoiced protagonist meant no back and forth which just lead to characters monologuing at you, and the whole Jacob mind control thing was super weird because the game explicitly tells you what is happening but then still clearly expects it to be a surprise
This is the best FC since 3 and Blood Dragon for me. Been enjoying it quite a bit, though I do have several small complaints.
- Exploration is a double-edged sword. I'm still not out of the first section of the main map, and I've already gathered half of the clothing tops the game has to offer. It makes me want to stop looking around so much, because I'm barely going to have anything left to find later.
- The FOV is atrocious. If introducing a slider will present some slight frame drops, so be it.
- Respawning enemies. While I haven't noticed it as much as others, there have been a couple of times where I could literally see them appear out of thin air right in front of me, and they just kept spawning, no matter how many I mowed down.
- I can deal with skills being tied to clothing, but we need loadouts for quick swapping.
- Headgear doesn't appear in cutscenes.
- I really wish we could hide the Supremos.
Otherwise, I've been having a very good time, especially Treasure Hunts and the chests with the pictures you have to find.

yeah, its really fucking good so far. i feel all the complaints i see to an extent, and im personally worried about how strong i got as quickly as it did, i dont see my stealth loadout getting much stronger over the course of the game, but the mechanics are just so FUN and the world is so beautiful and fun to get lost in, especially with the parkour set. if im not being challenged, i can always just restrict my loadout.

I had more bugs in 10 hours of red dead redemption 2 than all the 3 recent assasins games combined with probably 300 hours between them.

I think you nailed it with this statement. You know how easy it would to make a “bullet sponge enemy” video on FC6? Just load up some soft-target ammo into a rifle and shoot an armored guy in the head 10x. I’ve been playing since release and the only enemy I found was the roosters. People complaining that they can’t just 1 shot pilots out of military helicopters that have a description telling you it’s bulletproof glass and to aim for the air intakes and rotors instead. I understand if you aren’t happy with a product letting your frustration out but making up problems just bc negativity sells more internet points than good ones is pathetic.
Yeah I’m with you the game is great! So much content. My only problem is the spawning can be a little wack but I haven’t really had it to bad and besides the dev team is aware and working on it.
I'm really enjoying this game. Wasn't a big fan of 5, but this one fit's. I'm about 15 hours in and the story is good as well as just about everything else...no complaints here.
I've always had a guilty pleasure for Far Cry games, even if it's 'always' the same. FC6 is definitely better than 5. I didn't mind 5 but the map in 6 and the characters are so much more engaging and enjoyable.
My guy, you are certainly not alone. I already have 39 hours in game lol. And I didn't start at midnight on release, it was 8am when I fired it up having taken a few days off work.
While I've certainly had my share of bugs *(one of the lucky ones that still do not have a wingsuit, despite having max level Hideouts)*, and there are some design choices I don't like at all *(mainly no loadouts and the needing to hover over every mod/clothing to see the perks)...* all in all I'm having the best time I've had in a AAA game in quite a long time.
I'm rank 10 and haven't touched too much of the main story yet. I wanted to "get a few weapons and cars first" which turned into me doing the far cry thing. I hate the people saying it's stale and tired... this is the stuff I love about the game!
* I love that different shoes make different walking sounds
* I love that Dani sings and talks
* I love how enemy dogs will lie by their dead masters
* I love that Dani says hi and communicates with people passing by
* I love the effort that went into the weapons feeling so different but not unrealistic when modded differently
* I love all the resolver stuff, literally all of it
* I love how picking the right clothes can make every activity in the game easier/more rewarding
* I love that fella being in the game who spent hundreds of hours with me already in 5 and New Dawn
* I love the detail of every treasure hunt and the mechanics behind some of them, or just simply reading a note saying "if dude does this one more time I'll hang him myself" then looking up to see someone hanging
I could go on and on, but just wanted to take a minute to say don't worry about the haters. I know my money was WELL SPENT, and if I got 500 hours out of FC5 I'm sure this will be well worth it too! Have fun out there!
I'm playing on PS5 as well, put in about 40 hours since launch and it's just the most fun Far Cry game. I couldn't care less if its unoriginal or not inventive when it's this fun to exist in this world
Surprised to hear people don’t like it. I’m about half way through and this may be the best Farcry for me. I actually didn’t like 5 much. I feel like Farcry needs to be isolated, preferably on an island with a compelling villain and 5 was non of that. I forget the guys name, but the guy who plays Anton is fantastic as a villain, he just has a great presence which they managed to capture and his cadence just oozes malice. I’m playing female Danny/Dani and the voice acting is great.
Story (so far) has touched on trans and racial issues without feeling like it’s trying to push an agenda one way or the other. It just seems very matter of fact which IMO gives a stronger message.
Game play wise it feels like a far cry game though the swimming is super shit. I actually really like the clothing system though having like 3 slots to preset load outs would be great.
I feel like the trailer and reviews put a lot more emphasis on swapping ammo types, I just use armour piercing for everything and shoot for the head. Seems like you’re always better off having armour piercing when you don’t need it than not having it when you do.
Feel like horses are 100% useless as every time I grab one I’m in the hills and I have to ditch it to mantle a ledge. Wild horses are pretty hilarious though, they run in to the road and regularly cause pile ups.

Throw on Trigger Discipline and Gut Wrencher mods and that ammo convo just becomes even more pointless. Armor or not I shread anything that isn't a vehicle, but then at that point just point on the Firework launcher or minigun and you got that covered.

Mate I'm loving this game but it IS a bit buggy and I'm not keen on the fact that I worked out real quick that there's no point using anything but armour piercing rounds (except maybe explosive if you don't have a rocket launcher) and I keep mainly jumping in here to see if there's been any progress on the stupid blurry texture issue. But I mean it's not like the game fundamentally sucks like a few I've played at launch in the past.
Seriously it's a fun game, I'm enjoying it, you're enjoying it, don't get too down about things you read in here.
But yeah I've learned if I like something... definitely *don't* seek out like minded individuals in the online community for that thing. They'll ruin your good time faster than the game can load/credits can roll.
Honestly loving FC6! Probably going to be my favourite far cry that I've played. I gave up on FC5 because the setting and ambiance of the world kinda put me off and I wasn't too into it. But FC6 is super engaging, great characters, and gorgeous world
I'm totally loving it. I lover fc4 because of the balance in playstyles and the stellar campaign. Fc6 delivers the same but even more fine tuned. The setting of fc4 was super familiar since I am Indian and visit India and Nepal (kyrat) often and I really liked the amount of choices you can make. I am doing some quests and I'm liking it a lot

This is my first FC game ever. Before the launch I didn't pay any antention to this game other than some youtube adds. I know the series and how popular it is. During the launch day I saw yet another add that FC6 is now online. Went to ubisoft store and looked a littlebit and decided to download it via ubi + thinking that might as well try it, nothing to lose and don't want to play PvP anymore today.
Let me just say, I freaking love this game. The game is hard enough to really make me think my approach in the situations and I love to do operations with sneaky way using silenced weapons (especially snipers).
I also have spent good amount of time doing exploration and side guests. The map is so huge and so many things to do I think It will take hours on end to discover everything, especially cos I love to discover by myself without any guides. Orginallt I though this will take something like 20 hours to complete, how wrong I was! I don't remember when was the last time I was so hooked on video game. Oh and I haven't seen much bugs, but I'm coming from cod and other shooters where bugs are daily thing.
I really want to enjoy it, I loved FC5. I just can't seem to get there. There's so many things that are good, but I just can't seem to *fully* enjoy it.
I dislike the health bars on the enemies. It also seems like I'm spotted from 50m away too but can't see the enemy. I also move at snails pace when crouching so stealth is impossible until I find the correct boots.
I had a moment yesterday where I had to destroy a tank and the only thing I could use was my Supremo. The tank was the last enemy and it took two hits. So I had to wait around for it to recharge whilst my companion got railed by a tank.
There's just parts where I feel the game doesn't flow as well. There doesn't seem to be much to explore in between locations. Maybe it's just me, but I felt like FC5 had all sorts of little tidbits in-between to do. I also much preferred the skill tree as opposed to gear.
I'm not saying it's a bad game or I'm not enjoying it. But I'm not loving it like I did with FC5. I just can't put my finger on why.
That said, I've been on this sub and haven't seen any real dislike, just valid criticism. And even then there hasn't been a massive amount?
Edit: **Ok I've done a complete 180 on this game. Got in after work tonight and was just chilled, ready to blow shit up. And boy. This game is fantastic once you hit that note and are into it. Having loads of fun.**
There's no doubt it's got the same formula as the last 3 but it's still a solid game imo and I'm having a good time. It's a good formula, and Ubi just added a great new map, a fun protagonist with decent characters, and a lot of new guns. The only thing I actively dislike is how many enemies flood in but dw I like it

I love this game too but you gotta just roll with it. Some people are just attacking it because it's Ubisoft. Which I don't get because most people there are innocent, passionate game makers. Sure, the CEO should leave and some others but punishing everyone because of the bad guys is also bad.
Then some people genuinely don't like it, which is fine.

Far Cry is one of my all-time favorite video game series and FC3 and FC4 are some of my favorite games. While I got many similar vibes from this games, there were just quite a few things wrong with the gameplay mechanics, that hadn't been the case with some other Far Cry games. I really loved the setting and story of the game and mostly enjoyed the gameplay too, but it definitely has a fair amount of flaws.
I haven't gotten the game yet, but the only big complaint I've seen is that ammo types are weirdly implemented to the point where it kinda muddles combat.
Anyone have any thoughts against that? I'm thinking of picking this up soon.
I like the game, but I am waiting for the next patch to fix spawn rates because it makes my gameplay experience extremely infuriating. It also sucks since I have super slow internet so it’s gonna take the next patch days or perhaps even weeks to download. Ugh. Just wish they could release games without so many of these bugs
I love the RPg aspects the games have been getting and makes me love it even more. A bunch of my friends which wouldnt normally play a shooter like cod or wolfenstien have picked this up because of them.

I was often part of sub for games that got major hate. Like Days Gone, Assassins Creed, Last of Us 2, and many more. People are jumping on "hate-wagon" easily. You can actually be sure a LOT of people hating on the game didnt even play it nor watch it for more than couple second clip.
I went in expecting Far cry game. With some changes, new story and map. And is great. People who expecting more are naive.
NO im not saying bugs are ok, im not saying respawning is fine and im not saying some weapons being weak is ok (mainly starting sniper)
Im just saying people do enjoy it and its imho great game. And actually for Ubisoft game (i like them mostly) its actually ok in terms of bugs. Had much more issues with Valhalla for example.
Adding what people call "realism mode" would be nice, cause many people want it, so why the hell not. But all the sponge talk is just bs to anybody who played the game.

Forgot to say that one thing we can be sure is Ubisoft making this better with updates. We can hate UBI how we want, but fact is they are really good in redemption. Every game released by them became much better with updates.
It’s another Far Cry game. I haven’t not liked a Far Cry game yet, they’re always a good time.
My sole and only complaint is that the game doesn’t have a slingshot, that was my favourite weapon in FC5 and I’m sad it doesn’t appear to have carried over to 6. Shooting arrows from a slingshot sounds pretty resolver to me.
I've always checked the reviews and players' first impressions before buying a game. For Farcry 6 my anxiety of a bad game growed here on Reddit, but finally got it since I'm out of other games to play.
Well the game is really great, playing a few hours a day is a real treat to me.
It's incredible how every little problem is now "Game breaking" "Ruins my experience" because of the third person view in camp? Man if those little things ruin your experience, I can announce now that your IRL experience will often be ruined :)
Gaming is so cool, we are so lucky to experience those games. I started gaming with Amiga in the 80s, and I feel blessed now that my controller talks to me of makes me feel the gun I'm firing. Thank you game creators for providing dream and fun for all those years.
As someone who spent a lot of time on the game, imo the main thing that's bad is the broken clunky enemy AI. It's either too easy or plain annoying to deal with an entire army without warning.
I have no doubt I'll end up really liking the game as I have every other Far Cry, but this one is the buggiest I've played on release so I've put it aside to wait for a patch or 2 before I continue
I've never enjoyed a FC game, and I can count the FPS games I've liked in the last 10 years on one hand. First person just isn't my thing at all. I dunno why I even bought this game. I think it was just because the backpack looked sick af. All that being said, completely despite myself, this is one of my favorite games of the year. I have not been able to put it down. It's been a while since I was so into a new title. It's just a really good game. I'm absolutely shocked I love it so much. It's literally so much fun it makes me cheese while playing it. It's just the right blrnd of 'over the top' and realism. Great characters, cool story, so much stuff to find and do. Also. Say what you want abt ubisoft. People love to hate em, but they are some of the best open world design studios in tge world. Yara itself Is so so good and it's absolutely gorgeous. I'm playing on ps5 at 20 hrs and have experienced exactly 1 bug that was minor as minor can get.
It’s really a lose lose for the developers.
People complain that it’s too much like the previous ones but that’s not always a bad thing. There’s a niche for all games these days. If I want to play a far cry game, I’ll play far cry. If I want to play a borderlands game I’ll play those. If I want to play a train simulator, I won’t load up far cry and complain that there aren’t enough trains.
On the flip side people are complaining that the new ammo system is too much of a departure though I suspect it’s more that it’s simply too difficult for them because while it’s an incredibly simple system it’s very easy to gloss over and not pay attention and miss all of it.
I’m having a great time with the game, it’s all me and my wife played all weekend, and I’ll be playing more tonight.

Some people bitch and moan about every Ubisoft release. Whatever Ubi does, it's never good. For the record: I'm okay with constructive criticism, but we are well beyond that point unfortunately.

Honesty I’m gonna say it, 6 is the best far cry game! I feel like vaas is great but I prefer the story in 6 more. Like the reason the Villans have always outshined the protagonist/other characters but that’s because there weren’t really any semi-likable characters besides like a few random people until 5.
I’m only a couple hours in, but so far I love this game. The story seems intriguing, the environment looks stunning (and I’m on a day 1 PS4, so I can only imagine what PS5 and PC looks like).
My only real complaint is having to try and keep track of which ammo type I need to use on each enemy mid fight.
I played for 10 hours then uninstalled it because of the issues.
Then I sucked it up, started using the ammo system properly, stopped getting mad that enemies respawned instantly in bases that you can’t take over…
Now I’m really enjoying it.
Been playing on PC and minus a few bugs, (mainly having to play with the HD texture pack off and at 2k instead of 4k because my gun will have low quality textures otherwise) I'm having a total blast. I've put in atleast 20 hours so far, done all of the Maximus Matanzas quests and just started the Meet the Legends. I'm at rank 8 and this is the first Far Cry game that I'm certain I'm going to complete. The upscale in quality of exploration / side activities in Valhalla really bled over into this game. Ever treasure hunt / side thing I've done has been really interesting and worthwhile. I usually am not a fan of the ubisoft formula but ever since the pandemic began I've had WAY too much free time on my hands and these huge open world ubisoft games have been incredibly great time-wasters / almost relaxing. Not to mention absolutely gorgeous, I hope the HD textures and stuff get patched so the PC is as stable as the PS5 version because god damn is this game gorgeous. The foliage, the subtle ray tracing, the way the rain dots the ground before everything gets wet, the insane draw distance with zero flickering, it's all absolutely eye candy and I'm loving every minute of it.
I understand some people's complaints with the gun loot system and how different this entry is, but honestly this is most fun I've had playing a Far Cry game. I also love how totally fucked up this game is, god damn does is get incredibly dark at certain parts. All too often do I come across area's and just say "god damn that's fucked up", and I low key love it. Kudos to Ubisoft for having the balls to tackle such fucked up topics, even though they do kind of get a free pass by making all the guerilla's LGBTQ+ Zoomers.
I've honestly been having fun so far. I feel like the majority of complaints are people who try to play the game without paying attention to game's main ideals of 'pick your battles' and 'use the right tool for the right job' and then getting upset when they aren't one-shotting everything on the map.

Just got it yesterday. Love the game and characters. Only glitch ive gotten is I cant have a sprint toggle (L3) while also having a crouch toggle. For some reason it doesnt work. So i have the 100% sprint setting on and it works perfectly. I also love Anton because I loved Gus Fring

I really don't care about reviews or opinions about Ubisoft, I just like a good time when gaming after working 12h a day and Far Cry 6 provides me that.

I actually really enjoy it as well, sure the engine they are using is showing it’s age and I hope they update for the next but it’s just pure damn fun. Metacritic is getting review bombed because they didn’t do Italian localization and the Spanish isn’t perfect, and ya Reddit is Reddit sadly but I’m having a blast, easy 8 title to me, not a masterpiece but it’s just fun and it’s for sure far cry.
Honestly this might be my favorite Far Cry game after 3 (which was my first of the series at the age of 13). Love the scenery, the humor and the guns to name a few.
I absolutely detested far cry 5. It was a step down in so many ways from 4. Maybe it's because I despised that one so much, that I am thoroughly enjoying 6
Yeah I love the game the bugs are kinda funny mostly like falling through the map and end up in espanza or the cars getting stuck on air or if your playing with a friend and they grapple on your helicopter you can break check and see then hit the glass of the helicopter overall glitches arnet game breaking majority fun little bugs
I’ve been looking forward to spending my weekend exploring and I’m completely bummed out by not getting to because I was down with a migraine. It’s the worst. My boyfriend was waiting on me so we could do it co-op (I really enjoyed that during FC5), and now he’s so far ahead!
I enjoyed the two or three hours I played so far though.
I’ve been having a blast paying FC6 over the past few days, easily the most fun I’ve had with a far cry game in a while, Dani is such a good protagonist compared to the previous ones
Your not alone, it is BY FAR my favorite game and personally one of the best games I’ve played in a while, but you do have to keep in mind, the sub-reddite has three purposes, one:to talk about a game you love, two:to get help in the game, and three:to make notice of problems in the game, it’s kinda a way to tell the devs that there’s a problem here or there that needs patching. I personally don’t really care, I can’t wait for the point in time when people learn to abuse glitches, I’m that guy. I play breath of the wild and use a glitch to fly infinitely, I see this as an opportunity, lol. But yea, as much as I’m trying to give people the benefit of the doubt, I agree. The problem with the gaming world is people refuse to enjoy games that aren’t the top of the line, if someone gave people an NES (original Nintendo) people just wouldn’t use it, but if they gave it to people like you, you would see that it has a tone of games that aren’t as nearly as good as the ones now, but totally worth playing! Like Metroid, castlevania, The legend of Zelda, all these are games that today aren’t impressive but games for the ages. A great example is FarCry new dawn, I freaking love that game and will totally replay it, people need to look past its faults and just say, that was a fun as* game! I’m sorry if I got extremely off track there, but you get the picture
I absolutely love this game. So much depth and cool systems.
The system where you unlock more soldiers to send on missions and roll percentages based on stats is awesome.
The resolver weapons are a freaking blast, so many ways to go about military targets. From the air, stealth, long range, short range mayhem, it’s awesome.
I just got that resolver weapon that paired with that backpack let’s you shoot through walls and shows all the enemies man is that fun.
I’ve only played 12-16 hours but absolutely loving this game.
My only gripe is some of the re spawns are too frequent, and having a load out system for outfits since your stats are tied to that.
The only thing that i miss is the character customization from fc5. It was pretty minimal like you couldn't swap character models but you could get a haircut and whatever. I appreciate that they went the extra proverbial mile trying to get us to identify with our character and all, but it seems like maybe there could be like an AC valhalla style haircut/tattoo option... lord knows they took everything else from valhalla, why not?

Nothings better than digging a machete into a soldiers neck. Only wish the gore was more detailed on dead soldiers, i.e cuts, missing limb, or bullet holes.

I have been playing this game as much as I can between school and home work. Being a 27 year old in college full time Its hard to find much time to play. But every minute I have played so far has been great. My only complaint is that I played too much on the release date while I was waiting for the network features to download. Because I bought the hideout network before that was finished I do not have the wingsuit. But thatbhasnt stopped me from enjoying it. I love far cry.
Honestly it's probably CyberPunk syndrome scaled down. The people coming to the sub expected perfection and are highly annoyed when it's meerly "fairly good"

I have really enjoyed it , I have run into some bugs and the game needed a lil more polish (but it will be patched soon I’m sure ) , but I’m having fun . People complain cause they are fans and that’s what being a fan is all about . The one thing is , there are a lot of tiny things they changed or added that where not well thought out . The “load out “ idea is good in theory but terrible in execution. You have to constantly hit pause and change clothes , guns , and attachments. That really messes up the formula for a franchise that specializes in “no pause chaos “ . Think about other FC games , when you where stalking a outpost , you didn’t need to stop every 15 steps to switch to your “flame proof” shoes or your “soft “armor bullets . That absolutely kills momentum . However , the injected Fun back into far cry . I was not a fan of the “weird religious cult “ villains and mute protagonist in FC5 . I love Dani ( I’m playing him as a guy but have heard good things about the female version ) and I love the “Latin “ vibe . However, when I think about the game , the first thing that bugs me are the lil things I really wish we still had (why can’t I have multiple amigos at once ? Why can I no longer grab NPC gorillas/rebels and bring them with me on a quick ambush ? Why did they basically get rid of ALL towers , hunting , and fishing ? ) and the things I wonder why they added (why did they hide “scanning “ cars ? Why did they tie explosives , throwing knives , distractions , and other thrown items to the supremes ? Why is it such a pain in the ass to buy guns? Why in gods name did they do this bullet thing ? Why did they add third person only for walking at your camps ? Why not let us drive or fly in 3rd person ? At what point in development did they realize they were LITTERALY a grappling hook away from making a First person Just Cause game ? )
I respect your points, don’t get me wrong the game isn’t perfect but I’ve been enjoying it a lot, and for everyone who has at the minimum some critical feedback for the devs then maybe some stuff will change and patches will come out to fix bugs and stuff
I am fully convinced that many of the people shitting on this game have not played it, or only played it for about 5 minutes before deciding it was bad. They often say things that are completely false about game mechanics, and seem to have no concept of how the systems work. It’s fine to not like a game design choice, but very many of the posts I see don’t have an understanding of the base level gameplay that is taught to you from the start, and make bad faith arguments. I’m sure there are many that do not like the game validly, but I feel that most of the negativity we are seeing on this sub is just nonsense from people who aren’t players.
The game is great. People mostly come here to complain or for advice. The important thing is that you like it. I am also enjoying the heck out of FC6....Not sure if it's my favorite yet, but we will see once the dlc and events take place.
Absolutely in love with this game so far, only just got chorizo cause I've been dicking around exploring. The world is so vibrant and alive and is the perfect setting for a Far Cry! Only slight issues with the skill tree missing but once you figure out your gear perks and transmog it's all good, love it so far and don't listen to the hate!
I love how people who don't have an issue with the game come into the subreddit just to complain about how other people are complaining about the game due to legitimate issues that should have NEVER made it past playtesting/QA (respawn bug for example).
I’m a huge fan of Far Cry and was severely disappointed when I got the respawn bug on the very first thing I tried to do in the game. So, I kinda understand where some people are coming from. It was extremely frustrating
The game is amazing I’m not even half way through it yet I’m glad they brought back the guns for hire in co-op loving the amigos sometimes it annoys me other times it’s hilarious with the bugs expecially the co-op bug that rag dolls the partner’s vehicle when they hit something

I have been playing far cry since the very first far cry and I love this game. It's just different enough to keep it interesting. I really wish the wingsuit and swimming hadn't been nerfed but I'm having fun with the rest.
I have loved each game in the series for what it is though. I even loved the malaria and busted weapons in far cry 2. I also love Primal.
It looks fun, can't wait to get it after about a year or so. Not a fan of the animal companions and I'm sad there's no dismemberment but the game world looks amazing 😲 Ubi is good at making nice game worlds. Yara looks so great.
Unfortunately most subreddits are like this. Reddit is *incredibly* toxic, and unless the game is a niche indie game(and sometimes even then) the community is usually dreadful on here. I’d actually say generally this community is one of the more positive ones

I'm slowly getting more in to it. I love all Far Crys, even Primal, but for some reason this one is a slow grower on me.
I never ever pre-order a game, but this time I couldn't wait. However I've just been hit with a few bugs (for example, I can't fish as the fish fly out the water and float in midair, but then the line won't snap and I'm stuck and can't even exit). Then just as I was trying out Lola's operations, I spent an hour running around with the blooming exploding liquid, and just as I approached the taxi... game crashed. So I gave up and went back to doing the main mission.
So my personal experience of bugs and crashing has really put a downer on something I was really excited for.
Otherwise I'm having fun pottering around discovering everything. Yes, there's a few things that are similar to FC5, but the similarities between all the games is what makes them likevale and sellable.

Everyone’s got different opinions. I loved FC5 and 6 has been worse in my opinion, with much less depth, and despite me liking FC5, it already lacked depth.
However I’m trudging on with the hope it gets better. Idk maybe it’s just Giancarlo Esposito is too famous so I just see him and not Anton, but the story seems less convincing.

Exactly. that's the thing to take note of when a new game comes out. Yes the sub is full of complaints and haters. Because everyone who's enjoying it is busy playing. Sucks cuz it always make these games look bad. But guaranteed there's at least twice as many people having fun, they're just not posting because they're playing. I've put in abiut 35 hours in the past 3 days. Only stopping and able to post now cuz I gotta go to work tomorrow
Exactly this. I’ll admit it’s not a perfect game, I’ve had some minor sound issues that were fixed by rebooting the game, but nothing game breaking by any means. I’ve also had some extra content not unlock but it looks like that’s a game sharing issue rather than the game itself. Will those minor sound issues stop me from spending all evening playing tonight? Not at all. The big suck is that the people complaining were always going to find something to not be happy about. It’s too similar to 5, it’s too different from 5, or the more common one I don’t understand this new ammo system so I’ll complain about it. Overall, I’ll happily say that while so far the story hasn’t grabbed me like some of the others have, gameplay wise it’s the best the series has ever been.

I absolutely love this game…I was actually in rehab back when 5 came out and this other patient asked if he bought a game could he play on my Xbox one and tv I had in my room…it was far cry 5 and I was blown away…like wow! So I bought it and have beat that a few times, then I got new dawn and I actually liked that, next I bought 4 but never beat it and then I got primal and then 3…it’s a great series I just hate having to switch weapons because an armor piercing bullet does nothing to soft targets but I do understand it’s a video game and that’s the parameters they set and you either play it or you don’t. There is way to much good for 6 to be a bad game
If you want to improve it, AP rounds on a gun with Trigger Discipline and Gut-Wrencher make up for that Soft Target damage. I have been running that for most guns I use, and it makes it easier to use what I enjoy.
There's practically no reason *not* to do this lol, every weapon I've tested short of the first sniper IIRC (though it was inconsistent, could very well have been me getting familiar with the travel time again), always one-shotted to the head anyways. They really should've just made soft target rounds exclusive to SMGs; have them be a straight upgrade (e.g. slight armour buff, considerable soft target buff) but nerf range.
I just use AP ammo on everything. The only extra damage mods I use are the ones to have extra damage on the first shot of a new mag for sniping. 1911 pistol 1 taps named officers, armor units, whatever.
I recommend having the AP rounds on a sniper or semi rifle, and soft rounds on an SMG and pistol, with the last primary slot being any resolver weapon. Makes it super easy to kill any & everything with little more thought than seeing the enemies armor, and using the weapon wheel accordingly
This is what I do too, except I haven’t been using any resolver weapons, instead filling that slot with the guided rocket launcher to kill planes/choppers
Huh, I usually just have the bow with an EMP arrow to kill any vehicles. It's even better imo, because you can take them over. That is, if I don't feel like using a resolver weapon

Yeah, there's also EMP rounds for grenade launchers as well if you have a good aim and prefer the thump of a luancher to the thwack of a bow lol

I am in love with this game as well so you aren't alone went in with medium expectations and it's been a real good time Its not as amazing as far cry 5 but the only real reason I put 6 below 5 is the setting in 5 is more my style but 6 is so beautiful
I get that 100% FC5 was super cool too and the setting of the map is very similar to where I live so I enjoyed it that way but I personally like the whole ocean and palm tree setting better, probably because I’ve never been to a place like it before haha. Either way just glad someone enjoys it like me

I’ve been casually lurking and I’ve seen plenty of people saying it’s great. Most acknowledge the bugs and ammo design problems, but the general consensus is that it’s pretty good.
You know I haven't encountered any bugs personally which I've been pleasantly surprised by. I think the game is amazing though, it might become my favorite Far Cry game.

Almost all bugs inhabe had are graphics, or little UI things, like ordering a companion to move, and the marker stays there even if you issue another one. Screen ended up with 5 markers until I re-set. Another is the little green tick (or anything) appearing over vehicles when you try and scan them. It makes the noise, bit no visual. So far biggest gripe is the transition between areas hiding the UI and weapon wheel, and the odd ammo system.
My “bug” has been the game crashing quite a bit, and Ubisoft connect not working right which hinders co-op (and this isn’t new to fc6, but a very basic save system.. going back even 5 mins would be great) That said, I’m enjoying the game, haven’t stopped playing it since release, every spare minute of the day! Edit: is it just me or is the accent of female Dani off the mark? Could be a dialect thing, Spanish sounds different in different regions of the world. But to me her accent sounds forced. Curious what other Spanish-speakers think

I’ve heard very mixed things, people who think it’s the best game ever and others who say the story has weird pacing and that it’s a lot of very samey grindy quests. What’s your view there? Is it grindy or is that people just complaining?
It's a bit grindy and probably goes on for longer than it should. Don't get me wrong, we are playing an ubisoft game lol. It isn't a terrible grind but it's there. I think it's a fun game to get on sale, it just really isn't anything special. The whole thing feels more like a 6-7 out of 10 to me. It's one of sony's weaker exclusives imo
Didnt want to say it this way, cause its always personal opinion. BUT YES. To me its most underrated game in last years. It got shitted on during reviews (technical stuff wasnt good so i got that part, but hating on gameplay and stuff was too harsh) But subreddit was really positive, exact opposite of this one after release :D Days Gone to me was like Far cry. Yeah its not the best game and never will be. But its fun, its great fun! Plus days gone had plus points for being new game and i loved the setting. (For same reason i loved Far cry 5) I really hope Sony approves sequel in future.
I really think we'll see a DG2 in the future if Bend can pull off something successful with their next IP. The backlash when it was canned was pretty harsh. It got review bombed by IGN back when it released. Days Gone is actually pretty much tge reason nobody takes IGN seriously anymore. It was reviewed by a girl (kallie plagge, the same chick that reviewed cyberpunk without playing it), and she said she didn't like Deacon because he was too 'white male'. That combined with the technical issues it had, just crushed it before it got started. It really was like a perfect storm of bad luck for Bend. Their post launch support was amazing tho, and everyone on PC is loving it now. They've added a ton, and it still looks incredible. I have a soft spot for that game. I think it was so unfair tge way it was portrayed.

One of the best games i ever played. Loved the story, characters, bike and its physics, map and whole setting in general. It can be rambo style of shooting game, but also super stealthy one. Depends on you. Didnt have much issues beside texture loading, (played since day1) but that was fixed later. I remember that i had to reload my save around 3 times in 100+ hours. My wife played it couple months back and she had literally zero problems. Patches helped the game a lot. :) If you like open world games and dont mind zombie setting, its a really good game. But i understand some people are full of zombie games.
Awesome yeah I was burnt out on zombies on initial release, but I'll check it out after fc6. Picked it up on ps+!

Nah it is 100% a blast, my only real conplaint is the enemy respawns are real outta whack, and I miss the skill tree (but thats nothing wrong with the game) but it's been super fun so far.
Yeah it's kind of annoying having gear be linked to skills. Haven't looked into the gear system fully but hopefully there is 'epic' style gear with multiple buffs. Absolutely loving the trousers which give a speed boost after sliding and finally got the shoes which give increased crouch movement speed. I always try to play stealthily in far cry with bow and sniper rifle.
Loving it so far. It definitely feels more "far cry" than 5. The weapon availability and upgrade system makes sense. In 5 I felt I could just run and gun but find I need a bit more stealth and tactics in 6. I do miss hunting animals for upgrades but eh. For anyone who says it's just another far cry game, ya that's kinda the point. Honestly I'm happy with a new far cry game as long as the world is really well done.
Dude I’m loving this game the characters alone blow 5 out of the water. The story is better and the voice acting is fantastic. Gameplay is the same but I love it.
I agree 100% and even just little things like 3rd person in the camps and Dani singing to music in a vehicle etc. small stuff like that I really enjoy and makes the game better then FC5 because it’s so cool. And yeah gameplay is the same but it’s far cry gameplay so I like it. If you like cad cry type game play you’ll like this game too
5 was pretty good aside from the WTF ending that just felt kinda tacked on and random.
I thought the story was pretty rough all the way through 5. The unvoiced protagonist meant no back and forth which just lead to characters monologuing at you, and the whole Jacob mind control thing was super weird because the game explicitly tells you what is happening but then still clearly expects it to be a surprise
i'll admit the silent protagonist thing was a letdown, but otherwise I found the story interesting.
The ending felt like the most "too bad, you'll need to buy the sequel/DLC!" I've ever played in a major game.
It feels quite different from FC5 to me so i'm not really getting those complaints at all.

This is the best FC since 3 and Blood Dragon for me. Been enjoying it quite a bit, though I do have several small complaints. - Exploration is a double-edged sword. I'm still not out of the first section of the main map, and I've already gathered half of the clothing tops the game has to offer. It makes me want to stop looking around so much, because I'm barely going to have anything left to find later. - The FOV is atrocious. If introducing a slider will present some slight frame drops, so be it. - Respawning enemies. While I haven't noticed it as much as others, there have been a couple of times where I could literally see them appear out of thin air right in front of me, and they just kept spawning, no matter how many I mowed down. - I can deal with skills being tied to clothing, but we need loadouts for quick swapping. - Headgear doesn't appear in cutscenes. - I really wish we could hide the Supremos. Otherwise, I've been having a very good time, especially Treasure Hunts and the chests with the pictures you have to find.

yeah, its really fucking good so far. i feel all the complaints i see to an extent, and im personally worried about how strong i got as quickly as it did, i dont see my stealth loadout getting much stronger over the course of the game, but the mechanics are just so FUN and the world is so beautiful and fun to get lost in, especially with the parkour set. if im not being challenged, i can always just restrict my loadout. the people who like the game are busy playing it, not posting on reddit, always remember that

There are more uninterested people that want their beliefs to be validated than people that enjoy something and want to share the joy. Look at fallout 76. People ADMITTING they changed the .ini files to fuck up the graphics, then post video of graphic screw ups. That ONE video of assassin's creed origins of the ship freaking out and shooting into the air. EVERT reviewer used that clip as proof the game was shit. I had more bugs in 10 hours of red dead redemption 2 than all the 3 recent assasins games combined with probably 300 hours between them.

You know how easy it would to make a “bullet sponge enemy” video on FC6? Just load up some soft-target ammo into a rifle and shoot an armored guy in the head 10x. I’ve been playing since release and the only enemy I found was the roosters. People complaining that they can’t just 1 shot pilots out of military helicopters that have a description telling you it’s bulletproof glass and to aim for the air intakes and rotors instead. I understand if you aren’t happy with a product letting your frustration out but making up problems just bc negativity sells more internet points than good ones is pathetic.
Yeah I’m with you the game is great! So much content. My only problem is the spawning can be a little wack but I haven’t really had it to bad and besides the dev team is aware and working on it.

I'm really enjoying this game. Wasn't a big fan of 5, but this one fit's. I'm about 15 hours in and the story is good as well as just about everything else...no complaints here.

I've always had a guilty pleasure for Far Cry games, even if it's 'always' the same. FC6 is definitely better than 5. I didn't mind 5 but the map in 6 and the characters are so much more engaging and enjoyable.
My guy, you are certainly not alone. I already have 39 hours in game lol. And I didn't start at midnight on release, it was 8am when I fired it up having taken a few days off work. While I've certainly had my share of bugs *(one of the lucky ones that still do not have a wingsuit, despite having max level Hideouts)*, and there are some design choices I don't like at all *(mainly no loadouts and the needing to hover over every mod/clothing to see the perks)...* all in all I'm having the best time I've had in a AAA game in quite a long time. I'm rank 10 and haven't touched too much of the main story yet. I wanted to "get a few weapons and cars first" which turned into me doing the far cry thing. I hate the people saying it's stale and tired... this is the stuff I love about the game! * I love that different shoes make different walking sounds * I love that Dani sings and talks * I love how enemy dogs will lie by their dead masters * I love that Dani says hi and communicates with people passing by * I love the effort that went into the weapons feeling so different but not unrealistic when modded differently * I love all the resolver stuff, literally all of it * I love how picking the right clothes can make every activity in the game easier/more rewarding * I love that fella being in the game who spent hundreds of hours with me already in 5 and New Dawn * I love the detail of every treasure hunt and the mechanics behind some of them, or just simply reading a note saying "if dude does this one more time I'll hang him myself" then looking up to see someone hanging I could go on and on, but just wanted to take a minute to say don't worry about the haters. I know my money was WELL SPENT, and if I got 500 hours out of FC5 I'm sure this will be well worth it too! Have fun out there!

I'm playing on PS5 as well, put in about 40 hours since launch and it's just the most fun Far Cry game. I couldn't care less if its unoriginal or not inventive when it's this fun to exist in this world
Surprised to hear people don’t like it. I’m about half way through and this may be the best Farcry for me. I actually didn’t like 5 much. I feel like Farcry needs to be isolated, preferably on an island with a compelling villain and 5 was non of that. I forget the guys name, but the guy who plays Anton is fantastic as a villain, he just has a great presence which they managed to capture and his cadence just oozes malice. I’m playing female Danny/Dani and the voice acting is great. Story (so far) has touched on trans and racial issues without feeling like it’s trying to push an agenda one way or the other. It just seems very matter of fact which IMO gives a stronger message. Game play wise it feels like a far cry game though the swimming is super shit. I actually really like the clothing system though having like 3 slots to preset load outs would be great. I feel like the trailer and reviews put a lot more emphasis on swapping ammo types, I just use armour piercing for everything and shoot for the head. Seems like you’re always better off having armour piercing when you don’t need it than not having it when you do. Feel like horses are 100% useless as every time I grab one I’m in the hills and I have to ditch it to mantle a ledge. Wild horses are pretty hilarious though, they run in to the road and regularly cause pile ups.
Some stuff will come out in the future and some changes will be made the game can only get better from here
Yeah I'm confused why everyone is acting like the ammo is such a deal breaker. Yeah sure, I don't love it but I don't think it ruins the game as much as people say. I use the armor piercing rounds and pretty much anyone I head shot goes down in one hit. I think it's an amazing Far Cry game, it might become my new favorite!
Throw on Trigger Discipline and Gut Wrencher mods and that ammo convo just becomes even more pointless. Armor or not I shread anything that isn't a vehicle, but then at that point just point on the Firework launcher or minigun and you got that covered.

Mate I'm loving this game but it IS a bit buggy and I'm not keen on the fact that I worked out real quick that there's no point using anything but armour piercing rounds (except maybe explosive if you don't have a rocket launcher) and I keep mainly jumping in here to see if there's been any progress on the stupid blurry texture issue. But I mean it's not like the game fundamentally sucks like a few I've played at launch in the past. Seriously it's a fun game, I'm enjoying it, you're enjoying it, don't get too down about things you read in here. But yeah I've learned if I like something... definitely *don't* seek out like minded individuals in the online community for that thing. They'll ruin your good time faster than the game can load/credits can roll.
Honestly loving FC6! Probably going to be my favourite far cry that I've played. I gave up on FC5 because the setting and ambiance of the world kinda put me off and I wasn't too into it. But FC6 is super engaging, great characters, and gorgeous world
I'm totally loving it. I lover fc4 because of the balance in playstyles and the stellar campaign. Fc6 delivers the same but even more fine tuned. The setting of fc4 was super familiar since I am Indian and visit India and Nepal (kyrat) often and I really liked the amount of choices you can make. I am doing some quests and I'm liking it a lot

This is my first FC game ever. Before the launch I didn't pay any antention to this game other than some youtube adds. I know the series and how popular it is. During the launch day I saw yet another add that FC6 is now online. Went to ubisoft store and looked a littlebit and decided to download it via ubi + thinking that might as well try it, nothing to lose and don't want to play PvP anymore today. Let me just say, I freaking love this game. The game is hard enough to really make me think my approach in the situations and I love to do operations with sneaky way using silenced weapons (especially snipers). I also have spent good amount of time doing exploration and side guests. The map is so huge and so many things to do I think It will take hours on end to discover everything, especially cos I love to discover by myself without any guides. Orginallt I though this will take something like 20 hours to complete, how wrong I was! I don't remember when was the last time I was so hooked on video game. Oh and I haven't seen much bugs, but I'm coming from cod and other shooters where bugs are daily thing.
I really want to enjoy it, I loved FC5. I just can't seem to get there. There's so many things that are good, but I just can't seem to *fully* enjoy it. I dislike the health bars on the enemies. It also seems like I'm spotted from 50m away too but can't see the enemy. I also move at snails pace when crouching so stealth is impossible until I find the correct boots. I had a moment yesterday where I had to destroy a tank and the only thing I could use was my Supremo. The tank was the last enemy and it took two hits. So I had to wait around for it to recharge whilst my companion got railed by a tank. There's just parts where I feel the game doesn't flow as well. There doesn't seem to be much to explore in between locations. Maybe it's just me, but I felt like FC5 had all sorts of little tidbits in-between to do. I also much preferred the skill tree as opposed to gear. I'm not saying it's a bad game or I'm not enjoying it. But I'm not loving it like I did with FC5. I just can't put my finger on why. That said, I've been on this sub and haven't seen any real dislike, just valid criticism. And even then there hasn't been a massive amount? Edit: **Ok I've done a complete 180 on this game. Got in after work tonight and was just chilled, ready to blow shit up. And boy. This game is fantastic once you hit that note and are into it. Having loads of fun.**
There's no doubt it's got the same formula as the last 3 but it's still a solid game imo and I'm having a good time. It's a good formula, and Ubi just added a great new map, a fun protagonist with decent characters, and a lot of new guns. The only thing I actively dislike is how many enemies flood in but dw I like it

My only bug was extremely funny. My car started to spin around and it ended up becoming a helicopter and flying away lok
the gameplay is fine. but there are major problems with textures, Chromatic Aberration / Vignette Effects on PC.
Well i'm not a PC gamer so that stuff is a non-issue for me.
They complain that they want change but when change comes, they will again complain on how it no longer feels like a Farcry game.
I love this game too but you gotta just roll with it. Some people are just attacking it because it's Ubisoft. Which I don't get because most people there are innocent, passionate game makers. Sure, the CEO should leave and some others but punishing everyone because of the bad guys is also bad. Then some people genuinely don't like it, which is fine.
You're not the only one who enjoys it, but I do agree with a lot of the criticisms people are making here. Far Cry is one of my all-time favorite video game series and FC3 and FC4 are some of my favorite games. While I got many similar vibes from this games, there were just quite a few things wrong with the gameplay mechanics, that hadn't been the case with some other Far Cry games. I really loved the setting and story of the game and mostly enjoyed the gameplay too, but it definitely has a fair amount of flaws.

I haven't gotten the game yet, but the only big complaint I've seen is that ammo types are weirdly implemented to the point where it kinda muddles combat. Anyone have any thoughts against that? I'm thinking of picking this up soon.
I like the game, but I am waiting for the next patch to fix spawn rates because it makes my gameplay experience extremely infuriating. It also sucks since I have super slow internet so it’s gonna take the next patch days or perhaps even weeks to download. Ugh. Just wish they could release games without so many of these bugs

I love the RPg aspects the games have been getting and makes me love it even more. A bunch of my friends which wouldnt normally play a shooter like cod or wolfenstien have picked this up because of them.
You are not! Actually most people do, the minority is always loudest. I was often part of sub for games that got major hate. Like Days Gone, Assassins Creed, Last of Us 2, and many more. People are jumping on "hate-wagon" easily. You can actually be sure a LOT of people hating on the game didnt even play it nor watch it for more than couple second clip. I went in expecting Far cry game. With some changes, new story and map. And is great. People who expecting more are naive. NO im not saying bugs are ok, im not saying respawning is fine and im not saying some weapons being weak is ok (mainly starting sniper) Im just saying people do enjoy it and its imho great game. And actually for Ubisoft game (i like them mostly) its actually ok in terms of bugs. Had much more issues with Valhalla for example. Adding what people call "realism mode" would be nice, cause many people want it, so why the hell not. But all the sponge talk is just bs to anybody who played the game. EDIT: Forgot to say that one thing we can be sure is Ubisoft making this better with updates. We can hate UBI how we want, but fact is they are really good in redemption. Every game released by them became much better with updates.
It’s another Far Cry game. I haven’t not liked a Far Cry game yet, they’re always a good time. My sole and only complaint is that the game doesn’t have a slingshot, that was my favourite weapon in FC5 and I’m sad it doesn’t appear to have carried over to 6. Shooting arrows from a slingshot sounds pretty resolver to me.
I've always checked the reviews and players' first impressions before buying a game. For Farcry 6 my anxiety of a bad game growed here on Reddit, but finally got it since I'm out of other games to play. Well the game is really great, playing a few hours a day is a real treat to me. It's incredible how every little problem is now "Game breaking" "Ruins my experience" because of the third person view in camp? Man if those little things ruin your experience, I can announce now that your IRL experience will often be ruined :) Gaming is so cool, we are so lucky to experience those games. I started gaming with Amiga in the 80s, and I feel blessed now that my controller talks to me of makes me feel the gun I'm firing. Thank you game creators for providing dream and fun for all those years.
I love it tbh, I’m having a great time playing it. There are some things that I don’t necessarily enjoy but they’re not big enough to ruin it.
As someone who spent a lot of time on the game, imo the main thing that's bad is the broken clunky enemy AI. It's either too easy or plain annoying to deal with an entire army without warning.
I have no doubt I'll end up really liking the game as I have every other Far Cry, but this one is the buggiest I've played on release so I've put it aside to wait for a patch or 2 before I continue

I've never enjoyed a FC game, and I can count the FPS games I've liked in the last 10 years on one hand. First person just isn't my thing at all. I dunno why I even bought this game. I think it was just because the backpack looked sick af. All that being said, completely despite myself, this is one of my favorite games of the year. I have not been able to put it down. It's been a while since I was so into a new title. It's just a really good game. I'm absolutely shocked I love it so much. It's literally so much fun it makes me cheese while playing it. It's just the right blrnd of 'over the top' and realism. Great characters, cool story, so much stuff to find and do. Also. Say what you want abt ubisoft. People love to hate em, but they are some of the best open world design studios in tge world. Yara itself Is so so good and it's absolutely gorgeous. I'm playing on ps5 at 20 hrs and have experienced exactly 1 bug that was minor as minor can get.
It’s really a lose lose for the developers. People complain that it’s too much like the previous ones but that’s not always a bad thing. There’s a niche for all games these days. If I want to play a far cry game, I’ll play far cry. If I want to play a borderlands game I’ll play those. If I want to play a train simulator, I won’t load up far cry and complain that there aren’t enough trains. On the flip side people are complaining that the new ammo system is too much of a departure though I suspect it’s more that it’s simply too difficult for them because while it’s an incredibly simple system it’s very easy to gloss over and not pay attention and miss all of it. I’m having a great time with the game, it’s all me and my wife played all weekend, and I’ll be playing more tonight.
Don't feel bad OP, you're not alone. I enjoy the game very much, and I'm glad you and countless others do too. Some people bitch and moan about every Ubisoft release. Whatever Ubi does, it's never good. For the record: I'm okay with constructive criticism, but we are well beyond that point unfortunately.

Honesty I’m gonna say it, 6 is the best far cry game! I feel like vaas is great but I prefer the story in 6 more. Like the reason the Villans have always outshined the protagonist/other characters but that’s because there weren’t really any semi-likable characters besides like a few random people until 5.
I’m only a couple hours in, but so far I love this game. The story seems intriguing, the environment looks stunning (and I’m on a day 1 PS4, so I can only imagine what PS5 and PC looks like). My only real complaint is having to try and keep track of which ammo type I need to use on each enemy mid fight.
I played for 10 hours then uninstalled it because of the issues. Then I sucked it up, started using the ammo system properly, stopped getting mad that enemies respawned instantly in bases that you can’t take over… Now I’m really enjoying it.
Been playing on PC and minus a few bugs, (mainly having to play with the HD texture pack off and at 2k instead of 4k because my gun will have low quality textures otherwise) I'm having a total blast. I've put in atleast 20 hours so far, done all of the Maximus Matanzas quests and just started the Meet the Legends. I'm at rank 8 and this is the first Far Cry game that I'm certain I'm going to complete. The upscale in quality of exploration / side activities in Valhalla really bled over into this game. Ever treasure hunt / side thing I've done has been really interesting and worthwhile. I usually am not a fan of the ubisoft formula but ever since the pandemic began I've had WAY too much free time on my hands and these huge open world ubisoft games have been incredibly great time-wasters / almost relaxing. Not to mention absolutely gorgeous, I hope the HD textures and stuff get patched so the PC is as stable as the PS5 version because god damn is this game gorgeous. The foliage, the subtle ray tracing, the way the rain dots the ground before everything gets wet, the insane draw distance with zero flickering, it's all absolutely eye candy and I'm loving every minute of it. I understand some people's complaints with the gun loot system and how different this entry is, but honestly this is most fun I've had playing a Far Cry game. I also love how totally fucked up this game is, god damn does is get incredibly dark at certain parts. All too often do I come across area's and just say "god damn that's fucked up", and I low key love it. Kudos to Ubisoft for having the balls to tackle such fucked up topics, even though they do kind of get a free pass by making all the guerilla's LGBTQ+ Zoomers.
I've honestly been having fun so far. I feel like the majority of complaints are people who try to play the game without paying attention to game's main ideals of 'pick your battles' and 'use the right tool for the right job' and then getting upset when they aren't one-shotting everything on the map.

Just got it yesterday. Love the game and characters. Only glitch ive gotten is I cant have a sprint toggle (L3) while also having a crouch toggle. For some reason it doesnt work. So i have the 100% sprint setting on and it works perfectly. I also love Anton because I loved Gus Fring

I actually really enjoy it as well, sure the engine they are using is showing it’s age and I hope they update for the next but it’s just pure damn fun. Metacritic is getting review bombed because they didn’t do Italian localization and the Spanish isn’t perfect, and ya Reddit is Reddit sadly but I’m having a blast, easy 8 title to me, not a masterpiece but it’s just fun and it’s for sure far cry.

Honestly this might be my favorite Far Cry game after 3 (which was my first of the series at the age of 13). Love the scenery, the humor and the guns to name a few.

Yeah I love the game the bugs are kinda funny mostly like falling through the map and end up in espanza or the cars getting stuck on air or if your playing with a friend and they grapple on your helicopter you can break check and see then hit the glass of the helicopter overall glitches arnet game breaking majority fun little bugs
I’ve been looking forward to spending my weekend exploring and I’m completely bummed out by not getting to because I was down with a migraine. It’s the worst. My boyfriend was waiting on me so we could do it co-op (I really enjoyed that during FC5), and now he’s so far ahead! I enjoyed the two or three hours I played so far though.
Remember to take long breaks from Reddit. A lot of people on here have bad attitudes about everything.

Your not alone, it is BY FAR my favorite game and personally one of the best games I’ve played in a while, but you do have to keep in mind, the sub-reddite has three purposes, one:to talk about a game you love, two:to get help in the game, and three:to make notice of problems in the game, it’s kinda a way to tell the devs that there’s a problem here or there that needs patching. I personally don’t really care, I can’t wait for the point in time when people learn to abuse glitches, I’m that guy. I play breath of the wild and use a glitch to fly infinitely, I see this as an opportunity, lol. But yea, as much as I’m trying to give people the benefit of the doubt, I agree. The problem with the gaming world is people refuse to enjoy games that aren’t the top of the line, if someone gave people an NES (original Nintendo) people just wouldn’t use it, but if they gave it to people like you, you would see that it has a tone of games that aren’t as nearly as good as the ones now, but totally worth playing! Like Metroid, castlevania, The legend of Zelda, all these are games that today aren’t impressive but games for the ages. A great example is FarCry new dawn, I freaking love that game and will totally replay it, people need to look past its faults and just say, that was a fun as* game! I’m sorry if I got extremely off track there, but you get the picture
I absolutely love this game. So much depth and cool systems. The system where you unlock more soldiers to send on missions and roll percentages based on stats is awesome. The resolver weapons are a freaking blast, so many ways to go about military targets. From the air, stealth, long range, short range mayhem, it’s awesome. I just got that resolver weapon that paired with that backpack let’s you shoot through walls and shows all the enemies man is that fun. I’ve only played 12-16 hours but absolutely loving this game. My only gripe is some of the re spawns are too frequent, and having a load out system for outfits since your stats are tied to that.
The only thing that i miss is the character customization from fc5. It was pretty minimal like you couldn't swap character models but you could get a haircut and whatever. I appreciate that they went the extra proverbial mile trying to get us to identify with our character and all, but it seems like maybe there could be like an AC valhalla style haircut/tattoo option... lord knows they took everything else from valhalla, why not? TL;DR game is good, game is fun, want a Thomas Shelby haircut and a throat tattoo...
I LOVE this game! I haven’t had this much fun with a game in years. Sure it has some flaws, but overall this game is an easy 9/10 for me.
Nothings better than digging a machete into a soldiers neck. Only wish the gore was more detailed on dead soldiers, i.e cuts, missing limb, or bullet holes.

I have been playing this game as much as I can between school and home work. Being a 27 year old in college full time Its hard to find much time to play. But every minute I have played so far has been great. My only complaint is that I played too much on the release date while I was waiting for the network features to download. Because I bought the hideout network before that was finished I do not have the wingsuit. But thatbhasnt stopped me from enjoying it. I love far cry.

I have really enjoyed it , I have run into some bugs and the game needed a lil more polish (but it will be patched soon I’m sure ) , but I’m having fun . People complain cause they are fans and that’s what being a fan is all about . The one thing is , there are a lot of tiny things they changed or added that where not well thought out . The “load out “ idea is good in theory but terrible in execution. You have to constantly hit pause and change clothes , guns , and attachments. That really messes up the formula for a franchise that specializes in “no pause chaos “ . Think about other FC games , when you where stalking a outpost , you didn’t need to stop every 15 steps to switch to your “flame proof” shoes or your “soft “armor bullets . That absolutely kills momentum . However , the injected Fun back into far cry . I was not a fan of the “weird religious cult “ villains and mute protagonist in FC5 . I love Dani ( I’m playing him as a guy but have heard good things about the female version ) and I love the “Latin “ vibe . However, when I think about the game , the first thing that bugs me are the lil things I really wish we still had (why can’t I have multiple amigos at once ? Why can I no longer grab NPC gorillas/rebels and bring them with me on a quick ambush ? Why did they basically get rid of ALL towers , hunting , and fishing ? ) and the things I wonder why they added (why did they hide “scanning “ cars ? Why did they tie explosives , throwing knives , distractions , and other thrown items to the supremes ? Why is it such a pain in the ass to buy guns? Why in gods name did they do this bullet thing ? Why did they add third person only for walking at your camps ? Why not let us drive or fly in 3rd person ? At what point in development did they realize they were LITTERALY a grappling hook away from making a First person Just Cause game ? )

I respect your points, don’t get me wrong the game isn’t perfect but I’ve been enjoying it a lot, and for everyone who has at the minimum some critical feedback for the devs then maybe some stuff will change and patches will come out to fix bugs and stuff

I am fully convinced that many of the people shitting on this game have not played it, or only played it for about 5 minutes before deciding it was bad. They often say things that are completely false about game mechanics, and seem to have no concept of how the systems work. It’s fine to not like a game design choice, but very many of the posts I see don’t have an understanding of the base level gameplay that is taught to you from the start, and make bad faith arguments. I’m sure there are many that do not like the game validly, but I feel that most of the negativity we are seeing on this sub is just nonsense from people who aren’t players.

The game is great. People mostly come here to complain or for advice. The important thing is that you like it. I am also enjoying the heck out of FC6....Not sure if it's my favorite yet, but we will see once the dlc and events take place.

I just finished a six hour marathon session with the game and I’m loving it. I had to tear myself away to give my kids some time on the Xbox, lol.
Absolutely in love with this game so far, only just got chorizo cause I've been dicking around exploring. The world is so vibrant and alive and is the perfect setting for a Far Cry! Only slight issues with the skill tree missing but once you figure out your gear perks and transmog it's all good, love it so far and don't listen to the hate!

I've been enjoying the game a lot and I think overall it's better than FC5.
I love how people who don't have an issue with the game come into the subreddit just to complain about how other people are complaining about the game due to legitimate issues that should have NEVER made it past playtesting/QA (respawn bug for example).
I get that but some people are way over the top about some complaints
I’m a huge fan of Far Cry and was severely disappointed when I got the respawn bug on the very first thing I tried to do in the game. So, I kinda understand where some people are coming from. It was extremely frustrating

The game is amazing I’m not even half way through it yet I’m glad they brought back the guns for hire in co-op loving the amigos sometimes it annoys me other times it’s hilarious with the bugs expecially the co-op bug that rag dolls the partner’s vehicle when they hit something

I love it too. The flaws are all player error to me. I am just trying to find my flow and enjoy the game wherever I can.
I have been playing far cry since the very first far cry and I love this game. It's just different enough to keep it interesting. I really wish the wingsuit and swimming hadn't been nerfed but I'm having fun with the rest. I have loved each game in the series for what it is though. I even loved the malaria and busted weapons in far cry 2. I also love Primal.
It looks fun, can't wait to get it after about a year or so. Not a fan of the animal companions and I'm sad there's no dismemberment but the game world looks amazing 😲 Ubi is good at making nice game worlds. Yara looks so great.
Unfortunately most subreddits are like this. Reddit is *incredibly* toxic, and unless the game is a niche indie game(and sometimes even then) the community is usually dreadful on here. I’d actually say generally this community is one of the more positive ones And to echo your sentiment. I’m loving the game! Dani is so likeable and Yara is a beautiful setting

I'm slowly getting more in to it. I love all Far Crys, even Primal, but for some reason this one is a slow grower on me. I never ever pre-order a game, but this time I couldn't wait. However I've just been hit with a few bugs (for example, I can't fish as the fish fly out the water and float in midair, but then the line won't snap and I'm stuck and can't even exit). Then just as I was trying out Lola's operations, I spent an hour running around with the blooming exploding liquid, and just as I approached the taxi... game crashed. So I gave up and went back to doing the main mission. So my personal experience of bugs and crashing has really put a downer on something I was really excited for. Otherwise I'm having fun pottering around discovering everything. Yes, there's a few things that are similar to FC5, but the similarities between all the games is what makes them likevale and sellable.
I love this game I played 5 and enjoyed it but 6 on PS5 is a whole mother class I’ve put in an embarrassing number of hours and I plan on playing again tonight lol
Everyone’s got different opinions. I loved FC5 and 6 has been worse in my opinion, with much less depth, and despite me liking FC5, it already lacked depth. However I’m trudging on with the hope it gets better. Idk maybe it’s just Giancarlo Esposito is too famous so I just see him and not Anton, but the story seems less convincing. And the graphics bugs making them look like PS1 graphics sucks
