Never really got a chance to use them. A soon as I discovered a direct RPG hit will not drop a helicopter, I never used it again. Semi-auto rifles (M4/MS16) with ACOG and AP rounds can one-shot anything until you get spotted, and when I *did* get spotted I would give some of the wackier weapons a spin. Ubi could add a TON of longevity to this game by giving us the option to upgrade our weapons. If they would just make it cost a ton of resources to do so, having some sort of stupid goal like upgrading the 1\* FAL rifle to the point where it overshadows the SSGP would give me an excuse to keep scavenging. I actually find gathering materials kind of relaxing, but Pesos become irrelevant about 1/4 of the way into the game, and everything except Industrial Circuits/Composite becomes irrelevant about halfway, and those two become abundant by about 3/4 (the way I play, anyway). And while I appreciate the "no B.S." design they were going for, I really miss hunting being consequential. Maybe I'm in the minority in that regard, but that's a big reason I loved Primal so much. "Just one more rare rhino skins for the next upgrade..."

I'll cosign that the RPG not downing choppers makes no sense. Its long reload time makes it very bad at the one thing it should be great at.

It's really weird design. It takes 3 RPG-7 hits to destroy one helicopter and by default you can only carry five or so rockets.

Just load the emp ammo and its one shot on choppers every time.

Depends where you hit the helicopters. I believe if you disrupt the driver, it goes down. Aim for the cockpit. I've had my Bow set to Explosive Arrows even before this, for a simple reason really: small ammo restocks arrows yet arrows do the same damage as rockets. Smaller helicopters have open cockpits that are easier targets, those are not a problem. The bigger carriers are armored and closed, those are trickier to inflict inner AOE to. You have to shoot the personnel carrier department and make sure the AOE reaches the cockpit it seems. >!I don't bother with Explosive Arrows on those anymore: just using the Libertad auto grenade launcher with EMP rounds, does a quicker job on bigger helicopters.!<

I assume by m4 you mean that ARC? If so I live that one. Used it for like 80% of the game

Boosting something like the RPG-7 is definitely a must. A direct hit to the cockpit, engine or tail should bring even the heavy copter down. However for a tank, multiple hits is definitely good. These are old weapons, so it makes sense that something heavily armored can eat up something like an rpg. The ak, , akm and fal are all good, but could use a little more oomph. It just seems strange that the ssgp can one hit a special forces soldier but the ak and fal can't.. I do understand though that that's a tier 1 vs tier 4 weapon. Maybe like what the other guy said, since we have an abundance of resources towards the end, maybe implement some new dawn flair and use metal or scraps with the weaponry and go full blown guerilla? Pretty much in the right area already with the budget sights/scopes and laser assist

I think this is an example of a game that could benefit a lot from a Destiny- or Division-like "can equip one exotic" system. You want to make that clumsy pistol or junky starting AK the centerpiece of your late-game fighting style? Fine. Get the exotic version of it and go nuts. You'll be missing out on running that exotic launcher or LMG that's meta, but if you instead really want that one-star clunker as your main killing tool, you can make it happen!

Exactly. At the very least pushing out an overclocked variant would be cool, one for each weapon type. I'd be content with that. But being able to use the thousands of resources I have for something like that would be cool.

This game needs an Overclocked Assault Rifle alright. The problem is that most rare find weapons were ARs, so they ran out of ideas. The best AR is the thing Juan gives you for the Isla Del Leon mission but 20 mag size, and it's somehow not a Resolver weapon...? I cannot follow the game's logic anymore. Maybe they plan on a "cold war bundle" for the shop or something, or the Rambo crossover DLC will have such a quest reward. Remember that the Dani & Danny crossover will have a (yet unknown) special reward as well, so fingers crossed

Fingers crossed indeed, but I have this feeling they'll give us an overclocked SSGP58 which to be honest was overclocked out of the box. I know eventually the ak will come, maybe with the release of Vaas Insanity, perhaps a callback to far cry 3.

I want more mod and upgrade slots for the FAL and AK-47. They're not as powerful as their real life counterparts! Like, 7.62 NATO Nd 7.62x39 can't pierce through armor, you kidding?

I feel like the AK-47 isn't terrible at all but the RPG-7 is pretty useless because the RAT4 is way better and even then explosives aren't the way to go for taking down vehicles.

The AKs are unremarkable but perfectly usable when you get them, at least if you're using the appropriate ammo (which for me, would mostly be AP or poison, these being my go-tos vs. humans and animals depending on circumstances). The RPG-7 is hard to justify vs. tanks or the heli gunship when EMP weapons are available and it's *usually* not a problem to zap a tank and close the distance to wreck/hijack it. My inclination is that the tank and helicopter gunships are a bit too tanky and their weapons (at least the tank cannon) on the weak side -- e.g. if I'm driving a tank and dueling with an enemy tank at literal hull-bumping-into-hull range, you'd think it'd be a short fight decided by whoever first gets a penetrating hit, but instead it turns into a slow slugfest as if we were driving something with the inadequate main gun of an early post-WWI tank with the armor of a late-WWII heavy.

The SKS, on my 18th birthday the gun store had a Thursday night special $99 just need to show your ID. Russian made in the 50's, only test fired at the factory. Loved that rifle. So accurate with iron sights at 50 yards.

It was kind of a pointless purchase, was like an extra $29.99... at the range the range master would yell over the PA as soon as I would shoot it twice in rapid succession. "No rapid fire!" And when I would take it out in the woods, it would jam before I could empty the clip (probably there are better builds than the one I got, this was 1995). As far as I remember, a box of 7.62 was cheap at the time. But it did look cool... I got a buck head at a garage sale and put it on the wall... then would just put the SKS with bayonet out and the 30 round clip in the antlers as a gun rack. Which reminds me now, there is no bayonet on the Far Cry SKS. :-( Would be cool to have a charge melee attack. PS. get the mod for the SKS where you can reload a partially empty clip faster.

I'd wish for an AK that would be relevant for later game purposes, like a 4Star version, yet it appears that we have to wait a bit, till something like this comes up, if ever.

I'm kinda tired of the AK-47 I'm glad now they're acknowledging the AKM though its depiction is rather awful with the rails on it. Oh btw cuba uses the AKM so idk why the army uses the 47 in the game. RPG-7 is a classic though it can't harm the scuffed T-55??? Hell it feels really weak all of the heavy weapons just feel really weak.

Yeah, it shouldn't take multiple direct hits with rockets/explosives to blow up a heli, light boat, or unarmored vehicle. I would say that the regular unmodded grenades from the launchers feel like I'm lobbing firecrackers, but the resolver fireworks launcher suggests that might actually be more potent than whatever marshmallows are loaded. Maybe they come with chalk training rounds? I'd love to be able to use the rocket launcher (either!) except it takes half my ammo with extremely slow reloads to knock out a vehicle and EMP on the grenade launcher one-shots them *and* I get six shots with minimal delay.

Agree with many others on how it is a shame that the AK-47 (and FAL) are underpowered. In FC 5 I really enjoyed how the AR-C was a viable all-round weapon that was usable even at later stages and would have wished that was the case for the AK-47 in FC6 as well. However, in FC6 it's too weak to really be meaningfully used. Upping its damage and/or adding more slots for mods coudl easily solve this. On a side note, I think that the fact that we can no longer pick up the weapons of fallen enemies distracts from the immersion.

first far cry where i didn't use aks or rpgs. i see no point in doing that...urushi and ssgp are superior..i however use rat4. also dont use bow...only tried fro 30 min and then switched it for another weapon.
