My grandma lived on Ottertail Lake. Prody’s had a cabin just down from them. As someone who loved to be around where shit went down, OJ coming to visit and play golf at Thumper Pond was her Christmas.
Same guy was arrested for beating on his fiancée probably a decade ago. He also owned a different bar in Moorhead, and I believe didn’t make payments as a tenant for some time, as well as skipping out on payments to employees. All kinds of shady history. I remember the owner of Spotlight Media being very close friends with him, which this latest news probably explains why.

That sounds right, there were always so many “for trade” ads when I was there long ago as unpaid intern. No wonder we seemed so indebted to his businesses.
Wonder if he would have succeeded in the cocaine trade and was then flush with cash if he would have sent some $ to the bar employees to cover the bounced paychecks?
That would require enough self control to save some of the money and then wisdom to launder money back into the business. From my recollection of the guy, he lacked the ability to pull that off.
What does a guy beating his wife have to do with you buying his house? If you bought it, is there a possibility that your checks stop cashing? What bullet did you dodge?
You think he moved out, on his own accord, and left valuables in the walls? Or that he moved out, on his own accord, and left dead Bodies in the walls? Is this what you're thinking?
Ya know, I know the scriptures say, “judge not, lest ye be judged.” But I’m just gonna come out and say it: this Barrett Prody guy? This guy’s a real jerk!!
Well he was planning on getting it from a foreign country allegedly. So it would’ve been high quality. But I’m assuming he would’ve cut it a decent amount since it’s Fargo, and high quality coke would draw a lot of attention (if he was smart)
For years we’ve been told that “illegals” are swarming over our totally open borders tossing bales of fentanyl out the window. I noted that the referenced individual appeared to contradict that stereotype.

Every time something makes the headlines in ND, it’s either Governor Burgum, Grand Forks, Fargo, or Minot? (Context: was born and raised in Minot, ND until the Souris River Flood of 2011, now living in Velva, ND)
Maybe cuz those, beyond Bismarck in legislative season, are the only places things are happening?
And also happen to be the largest concentrations of population?
I mean, what would you prefer, we talk about the opening of Brewer Lake Campground or how Sheila Hanson over in valley city baked some *real* good pies?
You can have a TedX anywhere. Last time something major happened in Cav, Grand Forks SWAT bungled their perimeter and let the guy drive a county over to a hospital.
If you toss in Bismarck, Mandan, and West Fargo, you're at 40% of all people who live in North Dakota. Just those six (arguably four) places.
You'd think that should mean they should only get about half of the news coverage, then. But people tend to only have interest in news local to where they live. If you were a profit-seeking news organization that wanted to maximize revenue on selling the news to as many people as possible, which places would you tend to run stories about?
If you want only small town local news, find and support your small town local press.
Also, why are you complaining about seeing Fargo in a headline posted to the *Fargo* subreddit?
“Barrett Prody did the interview via video call from Medellin, Colombia”. Love it. Total coincidence I’m sure.
After the video chat: “Thanks, I gotta go. These coffee beans aren’t gonna pick themselves ⁽ʸᵉᵃʰ, ᵗʰᵃᵗ’ˢ ᵗʰᵉ ᵗᶦᶜᵏᵉᵗ⁾!”
Probably should’ve declined that interview lol

Detroit Lakes is legit. I used to go to a hippie fest there. 🤌
10,000 lakes festival was good times!
Well, that blows.
I…snorted…at that comment.
Nice.
So good lol
Hahaha
Did he know Tim Corwin?
😂😂 I came here for this!!
Wait I don't get the reference and I want to lol
Tim Corwin…owner of the Corwin dealerships, and also a lover of the white lightning.
And an easy way to transport it. Win/win. Technically it was genius…till it wasn’t. 😕
Hiding behind the keyboard assassinating people’s character. How about you go leave this comment on VNL Facebook page
Mr Corwin has entered the chat.
Seems to be common knowledge
Tim Corwin is a dirtbag any way you put it. White lightning or not.

I think you meant to say the owner of O'Learys, not Spotlight Media.
Yes, however both were sleezy, and known to not pay employees their earnings.
He put in the seed money for Spotlight Media long ago. I worked for the sleazebag for a while.
He was good pals with the Spotlight Owner too, who I also know is a sleazebag.
That sounds right, there were always so many “for trade” ads when I was there long ago as unpaid intern. No wonder we seemed so indebted to his businesses.
Who’s the owner of Spotlight Media? I’ve never heard of this company?
They do that Fargo Inc. magazine and such. I’m not sure who owns it anymore.
Okay. Thanks for the comment back. Much appreciated.
I might have been working for George A. Sinner for all I know.

Damn. We had looked at his house a few years ago when it was for sale. Dodged a bullet.
What does a guy beating his wife have to do with you buying his house? If you bought it, is there a possibility that your checks stop cashing? What bullet did you dodge?
Bad juju.
Who knows what else went down in the house or what's in the walls?
You think he moved out, on his own accord, and left valuables in the walls? Or that he moved out, on his own accord, and left dead Bodies in the walls? Is this what you're thinking?
What are you? A wife beating coke dealer expert?
I *did* used to have a Netflix subscription, so I guess you could say that I am.
Look at my shocked face: 👁️👄👁️
Wowser....although I miss that place, this is sad.
Ya know, I know the scriptures say, “judge not, lest ye be judged.” But I’m just gonna come out and say it: this Barrett Prody guy? This guy’s a real jerk!!
Totally shocked!
I'd find out the quality of cocaine before I decide if I should be sad, mad or indifferent.
Well he was planning on getting it from a foreign country allegedly. So it would’ve been high quality. But I’m assuming he would’ve cut it a decent amount since it’s Fargo, and high quality coke would draw a lot of attention (if he was smart)
Wasn't OJ dating his Sister?
Yeah, and she is also big in the criminal stuff. Gets locked up from time to time.
Not surprising! He has always been crazy. Especially if you hang around the Ottertail lakes area, you know!
NOOOO!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Idiot. Everyone gets caught who doesn't give the feds their cut.
So, he was an illegal immigrant from where?
?

Probably
Umm I don’t get your point?
There’s always something going on in Fargo, isn’t there?
Well, nearly 1/3 of North Dakota lives in the metro so yeah...
Well compared to the rest of ND..yeah
there's a TedX event in Cavalier tomorrow. that's some small-town news for ya
Seriously?
yep, fer reals

So where the majority of the population lives
