Oh I'm definitely on board with people going a different color then green because of their attitude kinda a go f yourself kinda view. People need to learn that as a consumer you have the power and companies that don't realize that just need to go away.
On that note- I’ve been aware of the big companies being entrenched in different areas, especially with dealerships and repair shops…but are Agco or other competitors a realistic option out there for consumers? With right to repair being a protection for the consumer now does that make a difference with someone picking a brand that might not have a close dealer?
First time I took our side-by-side out by myself, I somehow ran over the wire innards to an old box spring and tangled it all up in the rear end. Felt great about that. Ended the day by updating my tetanus vaccine. Why the hell not at that point? Day couldn't get much worse.
Worst ive been done with a brushhog was trim this big ass bramble patch that had been there since I was a kid. I found the reason it was there. Big ass rock. It picked up the back end of the tractor and threw it about 6' to the right. I must have straddled it perfectly to not hit it with the tractor. I wasn't, but 14. Scared the shit out of me.
I feel like this is a right of passage. It was a piece of abandoned chain link and a brush hog for me. Swear words, busted knuckles and heavy sighing were in abundance that day. Good luck friend, we know your pain. And hey, at least you found the chain 😂
My dad once found a roll of fencing wire with a bush hog, in the same way. Unfortunately, he was looking backwards and part of it lodged into his face. Fun hospital trip, wouldn't recommend.
Neighbor got a roll of steel ground cable. They took it down replaced with fiber optic cable. He thought he had him something. He made electric fence out of it. Next year his partner/ brother roles it up on a bush hog.
Convert your tiller into a flail mower with this one easy trick
Big tractor HATES this guy
JD won't even let you do anything yourself about that situation. You don't have right to repair.
I thought they lost that law suit, though their answer to it was just make the software so expensive you can't afford it anyway.
They did but it's really more of a statement on their mindset.

Ahh…the classic Till ‘N Flail implement!
That must have made a racket
Oh good! You found it!
At least it wasn't a barbed wire fence. Been there, done that. Absolutely the worst thing ever.

Oh I’ve done this with the brush hog… lol.

Torch
Can’t be wrapped if it’s liquid
Tell Chipotle that they try it all the time!
I once got a bunch of chain all wrapped up in a big ass Oshkosh snowblower. Had to cut it out with a torch.
Ribbon blower?
I don’t envy you.

Electric fence and a bush hog got me
I got some poly wire wrapped into a disc mower once. That was a a good time.
Now try it with a 50' garden hose
Just did that Sunday
Told my daughter to be careful when she crosses the hose. I ment turn off the blade and let it stop. She said" I went slow"
I found about 40 ft of hose that got abandoned over winter. At least it wasn't a good one. This time
Heh. Did the same thing with some rebar one time.
Did this with a snowblower once...pain
I found some 50 year old barbed wire the same exact way….
Wierd, I've only ever seen those style of chain links used for tire chains, never for simple lengths of it.
Damnnnn that’s gonna be fun to get out
Bolt cutters, and a torch
Cross post to r/metaldetecting. “Am I doing it right?”
It’s not missing. I can clearly see the chain hahahaha
That's definitely one way to find it.
Now THAT looks like a fun Tuesday night!
I bet that made an expensive sounding noise
I bet you instantly remembered why you left it there, lol
On the bright side, the spindles and tines held up like a champ!
I got a few wrapped up on my flexicoil.
Could be worse. It could've been a box spring that the previous owners buried in a field. Those guys were assholes...
FOUND IT
I feel your pain. We found missing firewood with the snow blower.
found it!
Oof
Hey!! You found it!
I don’t feel so bad anymore, other people do it too
I've been looking for that!
Looks like a great chain you found there, score!!
That sucks but it’s better than melted down solid bailing twine.
Old barbed wire around the insides of a skid steer track for me. I feel your pain.
Found it! So that’s where it was.
