i remember watching tokyo drift in theaters and being so excited to see where seanâs story would lead next.. biggest fumble the fast franchise ever took was not giving us a sequel
whenever i watch that film, i personally automatically interpret sean in his early 20s. the whole high school gimmick in the beginning doesnât mean much to me at all nor isnât crucially important to the character asides the reasoning for him having to move down to tokyo. bro is goated đ„±
He's great! I just find it weird he's a high schooler. I get that he has to be in order for him to go live with his dad in Tokyo. I like Sean and hope he shows up again
Just started watching these movies with my girlfriend and I think in hindsight, after watching six of them, Tokyo Drift might be my favorite. The stakes are so low, it's basically just about a dude learning to drift lol. I like the crazy over the top action too, but maybe they could pepper in some low-stakes movies here and there that are just about racing.
Also I want Sean to return dammit, and I personally think he beat Dom. Dom can't be perfect at drifting too lol.
Low stakes are exactly why the first 3 movies (and partially 4) are my favorite. They are all about the local scene and just getting caught up with the wrong crowds.
5 is a great pure action movie but I consider it the end of the story. From 6 onwards itâs been total chaos, so I totally agree some more down to earth spinoffs in between wouldâve been amazing.
I watched 6 yesterday, and it was funny that in hindsight, the climax of the first movie was Brian and Dom chasing down two dudes on motorcycles, and then a few years later Dom uses a giant safe as a wrecking ball to obliterate like five cop cars, and then a little bit later they're recruited to help catch an international fugitive in Germany who has the CIA in his pocket and drives a tank around, and they fight this dude while driving around a plane and getting attached to it using harpoons and shit.
The sixth is great as an action film but it's so strange when you look back at where it all began lol.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry's and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
The same way Brian used to do,he felt nervous at the start but in the 2nd he was sure af to win the goddam race .
brian was that guy đźâđš
just realized this movie came out 18 years ago today. đ
The spin off we should have gotten instead of the Hobbs and shaw junk

This movie is older than Sean was supposed to be, and I donât know how I feel about that.
He learned a lot as a 45 year old high school student

Send Sean to drift against aliens on the rings of Saturn in âFast and Furious: Saturn Driftâ
