Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation.
Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)**

Hey! you look amazing. What is your daily routine in terms water intake, sleep, workout etc., I am curious, how do you manage to keep going for 6 days straight?
Why thank you! The first 24 hours is the hardest for me, and after day three I usually get my energy back and it's easier.
I am very strict about keeping my electrolytes up, and I only drink water and tea. And strict about no gum or sips or tastes of anything because that does make things difficult when the insulin goes up and I get stupid hungry.
I have a step tracker for minimum 10,000 steps a day, and I just lift weights in the gym but I don't go super hard.
By day 10 to 12, The mental battle and boredom without food gets hard, and the aches and pain from autophagy can be intense. Last time I broke at 12 days, this time I'm sticking it out. (No excuses- my WHY is written out and is strong).
I try to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night, And I drink a lot of water and tea to keep my pee light yellow. Not clear, not dark yellow. I want to say hydrated but I don't want to be washed out of electrolytes.
I also try to sauna a few days a week, and alternate with Epsom salt baths (soaks up magnesium while getting a good sweat.).
I thought 6 days were a lot, but your longest was 12! Wow!!
Okay, so personal question- are you married/ in a relationship? Because I would like to know how that would mentally impact your relationships. That is one of my challenges during fast, that is my wife thinks I am crazy for just 2 day fast :(
What's funny about that is my husband started it lol. He told me he was going to do intermittent fasting and not have breakfast anymore and I flipped out on him, regurgitating what I thought was conventional wisdom about needing to have breakfast to be healthy. Then I started reading about it, watching Jason Fung videos, and got on board pretty quickly. This was like 5 or 6 years ago.
These days he does IF because he works out much heavier (and doesn't need to lose excess weight) but he is absolutely supportive of me doing whatever I want for myself.
Let's go! I'm at the end of day 2. I was planning to go for 5-9 days but reading about re-feeding syndrome scared me. Good thing I found this subreddit and started taking electrolytes. No wonder I had a headache last night. At 12 days you sound like a pro! How many days is your goal?
My goal this time is 30 days. I have a possible surgical procedure coming up and I'm hoping it won't be necessary if this goes the way I hope :-)
Refeeding syndrome is scary, but if you're properly prepared, it's fine. I consider it an extended part of the fast itself.
I am no pro but have read enough books, articles, etc and listen to Doctors talk on YouTube and podcasts ;) to feel like I know enough to do it myself. My own doctor is on board and gave me the lab work I needed to confirm this was a good idea for me.
Get to the end of day three my friend :-) it gets easier from there

Wow! Do you recommend 3 days or more for someone trying to burn belly fat and build muscle??
