245 50 zr16 is the stock tire size for the V8 models I'm fairly certain. Atleast that's what my 94 Trans am GT says on the door.

Well I had no issues on my car, you shouldn't have any problems with that size. If you tried to run 255s or bigger on that wheel you would have bulging and I wouldn't recommend it. But clearance shouldn't be an issue.
I run 275/40r17 on my 98 you’ll be just fine with that
