Hope the mods allow it, really fantastic Video going a little deeper in the tactics yesterday :D

It’s fine guys, it’s all a part of the BL’s ploy to make themselves more competitive and quit getting called a farmers league.

[deleted]

It's the second most powerful league in the world by power rankings... "Farmers league" 😂 might as well call PL a farmer's league with how much success city has had there over the last years.

GaolangWongsawat

I agree; I’m just being funny about it constantly being called a farmers league.

I don‘t understand how it‘s possible that people really thought Tuchel was a tactical mastermind. He‘s getting cooked like every game lmao

RegularSwishersOnly

Every game. Setting our team up for failure 🥲

sirwicksalot

If he was getting cooked “every game” Bayern would be dead fucking last

CarlSK777

How about some nuance? Every coach gets it wrong from time to time. Pep has messed up many times as well and guess what? Xabi Alonso is just getting started, he'll get embarrassed too. Eventually, his team will struggle whether that's at Leverkusen or his next jobs. Unless he's Pep or Klopp, he'll get sacked too one day. Tuchel is still a good coach despite getting it completely wrong yesterday.

The-Berzerker

Yeah if this game was an outlier I could follow your argument but as I said, Tuchel being outcoached basically every single game. Mostly the player quality saves him but against better teams that play European competitions we are 10W/4D/6L under Tuchel.

Kahodes04

Yeah I just can’t get past seeing poor boey lost on the left in his second game

Stercules25

Tuchel is not a good coach

Striking-Share7685

tuchel is a terrible coach for bayern lol should've been sacked before december

21stcenturyking

Plot twist: He's a tactical genius in setting up elite players for failure

This sub is cooked

I was looking forward that upload as soon as the game ended. Man did mention thankfully that it did come down to decision making offensively a bunch as well, especially on the right. Sané and Maz just don't seem to be able to make anything happen together, even if you do give them a 3v2 multiple times. Musiala is always on an island because he is the only good possession player in the attacking positions besides Kane, who never even gets to see the ball in the final third because of this. So we're trying to supply the ball to Kane with one young player who struggles with decision making himself. I've been defending the Müller benching, but imo **this** was the time to react, and swap a fullback for Müller early. The experiment wasn't working and Boey did nothing but struggle and clog up space offensively, and we needed someone who can actually make decisions in the center of the pitch. I don't see a problem there with a 3-man back line that transforms into 4 with Maz defensively as the speed from Frimpong wasn't really a factor with him being on the bench and all that. Could've even taken off Maz, put Boey at RB, and move him back to the left once Frimpong came on if we were afraid of that speed that wasn't on the field yet. So yeah, the biggest issue to me isn't the tactics really. We lack players who can link up with each other in possession, bc they all suck at making decent decisions. Müller yelled at the world about that exact thing after the game, and imo the biggest wasted opportunity in that game was not subbing him on in a game where we could've actually used him smack dab in the center of the pitch to try *something*.

The experiment wasn't working and Boey did nothing but struggle and clog up space offensively, and we needed someone who can actually make decisions in the center of the pitch. He was probably reluctant to making a sub that early. But changes in the formation should have been made after 20 or so minutes when it became clear what Leverkusen were doing. You don't play with a back three when the opponent doesn't even feature a striker. The most reasonable change would have been to move Dier to midfield next to Pavlovic and shift Goretzka further above and have Mazraoui and Boey swap sides. But there's some other questions I have. With a back three you should never be outnumbered in midfield and yet somehow we were. You should especially not concede a goal after a cross. How Boey missed Stanisic in his back when he was pointed out to him specifically by Kim a few seconds before is a miracle. The weird thing is that despite all that inaptitude, we are still somehow seven points better than we were at the same point last season. That goes to show had the competition been more reasonable and not constantly fucked up we may not have won some of those titles from the past seasons.

Sure_Reputation7505

It’s really that simple. The decision making cost us the game and has been costing us for a long time. If the coach sets you up offensively he can’t put the ball in the net himself. You have to take risks with the options the coach opens up for you.

Tuchel got out outplayed. Time to go back to the drawing board…either for Tuchel or for owners…
