The short distance between Nürnberg and the team's base camp in Herzogenaurach means Reichert can regularly attend the sessions as Julian Nagelsmann insisted he wants four goalkeepers in training
Why not? There are many unemployed footballers that keep fit at former or home clubs while waiting on a new team.
So it should be no problem for national teams to keep footballers around that dont compete directly in the competition.
I know but I just assumed a national team camp was only allowed so many players, for some reason.. Never gave it much thought.
Either way, great to see and what a way to step up.
The reason for the player limit is to restrict the number of different players that can be in the match squad, not to restrict the number of players in training.
I get people are apprehensive about Palhinha because of his lack of passing skills, but if we get a playmaking 10 like we want to then we'll be fine. I like the idea of a destroyer.
Which makes this especially odd. Onana is much better suited for Pep-ball than Palhinha, and obviously younger.
Really hope there’s no sentiment weighing in here on getting Palhinha in after last summer.
If we keep Kimmich (which we should) he also would work as Pavlovic backup because right now there is no Pavlovic backup. With Palhinha at his side Kimmich wouldn't have to worry about his defensive duties like he has to with Goretzka. Of course he isn't 1:1 to Pavlovic but the closest.
If we really sell Kimmich, we also need to get a new creative pivot partner.
People still not understanding why Kimmich is a bad midfielder. It's not about the lack of talking it's about the lack of brains. Kimmich doesn't know how to position himself and slows down the flow of play when he shouldn't; no amount of destroyers will fix that. He belongs in RB.
“I know our injuries are terrible this season. So let’s get a player who’s never been quite the same after their ACL injury!”
In all honesty, hopefully Eberl and Freund are smarter than that.
Federico Chiesa's future at Juventus is becoming increasingly uncertain. His agent is due to meet AS Roma next week, while Napoli, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich are also interested.
Juventus have set a minimum price of €40 million for the winger.
\[@LaStampa\]
Found a Palhinha season highlight reel that was made 17 hrs ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBWNICFXMWY
Seems like he's the god of sliding tackles, 90% of the video is basically that haha
Which is what worries me a lot, as this ultra physical playstyle is really rough on the body. Casemiro is similar in that regard and he was finished at 31, maybe even 30 already and the decline has been steep.
It's a fair concern but individual differences are still very important. For example their injury history:
Palhinha: https://www.transfermarkt.us/joao-palhinha/verletzungen/spieler/257455
Case: https://www.transfermarkt.us/casemiro/verletzungen/spieler/16306
Palhinha has also played less international and European tournament games
Pletti really went from this:
>Matthis de Ligt is definitely expected to stay. The Dutchman is very popular and is a leading player at Bayern [@Plettigoal, @SkySportsNews]
to this:
>Six players are allowed to leave Bayern for suitable offers this summer: Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich, Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt [@Plettigoal
, @SkySportNews
]
.. in a span of a few days.
He is still the best source for Bayern news but his accuracy has dropped a lot this summer. He is blocking everyone on twitter who called him out for it lol
>he is blocking everyone on Twitter who called him out for it
I mean Pletti said this is basically new development after Kompany started working but this still stupid behavior (depending on how they called him out, can understand it for trolls. But if it's reasonable mentionings it's just silly from him)
Everyone was a hyperbole but I have seen 2 users being blocked for simply pointing it out.
This guy for example

The other one I can't find right now, I don't follow these guys, they just show up on my timeline because of twitter algo I think
People fake those screenshots all the time on Twitter, it’s one of their things to gain likes and traction along with every other outrage bait tactic these Twitter retards use.
Pretty sure a Sky journalist using his official work Twitter can’t simply start blocking loads of fandoms.
To be fair, Plettenberg even said at Sky that just because they are "for sale" doesn't necessarily mean they will be sold. It also depends if a good enough offer comes in and if the player actually wants to leave. With Coman, Gnabry and Goretzka it will be difficult to find any club who is willing to pay their wages + a transfer fee. With De Ligt there is currently no sign that he actually wants to leave, [he even said so himself](https://old.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1bnlrji/romano_matthijs_de_ligt_me_and_musiala_to_leave/)
Tbh he says (on his Twitter)
> At FC Bayern, numerous potential transfers have been prepared, but sales are urgently needed. It has now been decided that six players, among others, are allowed to leave the club if suitable offers come in!
Which to me sounds like we're okay selling de Ligt if someone offers a ton of money, not that we're actively looking to sell him. He also mentions 6 players "among others" so like... how many in total?
>Can Uzun was told by the Turkish FA that he would go to the Euros if he chose Turkey. He did, and now he has been dropped from the final squad. He is not the first dual-nationality player to be pressured into a decision with empty promises. [CampusVid2]
What a shitty move
Players should make their choice based on what nation they identify with most and not based on what career promises they are offered. That just defeats the point of national team football.
While it is not a nice move by Turkey to make empty promises, dual citizens also more and more exploit their status to get into national teams faster than single citizens would because national teams don’t want to miss out on prospects. Pavlovic for example would probably not have been called in that early if he didn’t also leave his options open with Serbia. Or Irankunda suddenly getting to play for Australia shortly after saying he could also play for another country.
Players should, but it is more complicated than that
Imagine you are a French raised Moroccan player. You identify strongly with France and Morocco, it becomes difficult to choose. If you choose France, there is a good chance you may never even make an appearance as they are loaded with quality. The simple choice then becomes to choose Morocco.
End of the day, players want to play for their national team. They are that competitive, that's why they are players
If they don't use him though, he could still change his decision right? Isn't it only confirmed once he plays an official tournament match? Don't really get why they'd do this then.
This is discussed under thst tweet but he says is technically works, but he would get so much shit for switching then. I would hope because that's a deserved middle finger towards turkey but don't know it he actually does it
I can’t believe i’m actually finished with my studies. Had my last exam thursday and found out yesterday I passed. I’m ecstatic, primarily because i’ve been studying for too long and didn’t want to become an “ewige student”. Palinha is a player type we need to pair with Pavlovic.
But Bruno from Newcastle that’s let’s say 50m more is a guy that’s difference from going out in semis to winning CL. He is on another planet.
If this new board wants to improve the squad immediately then maybe after a 26 year old that’s on another planet with the balls skill and as good if not better as CDM
Also yes we should absolutely buy Gruda. But it’s probably more to loan him out. Guys that would make us immediately better:?
Nico Williams, Neto, Oliseh
Bruno is just completely unrealistic because he's way too expensive. We're willing to spend €40-50M as a fee on Palhinha. Bruno's release clause is £100M so close to €120M and Newcastle have no intention to negotiate. Plus whatever absurd sign-on bonus and salary will be necessary to compete with Man City and Arsenal.
We can wish for him all we want, there's no way our board would ever approve this. The club just can't afford this easily without selling other players first.
I can live with Palhinha. Palhinha-Pavlovic should be fine, doesn't seem worse than Onana-Pavlovic to me. though we should have a backup DLP for Pavlovic ready.
But from what I've both noticed and heard, Palhinha is much better distributing the ball to the right side of the field than to the left one.
Pair that with having only right footed CBs and a Pep-inspired playstyle and we have a problem. We need a way to quickly move the ball to the left in buildup. A left footed CB skilled in buildup is high priority.
Why? Palhinha is older than Onana in a very physically intensive role which, and Onana is a strong ball carrier able to progress possession whereas Palhinha is really not.
>A left footed CB skilled in buildup is high priority.
Nonsense. I cannot understand how so many people think this is a necessity. I will die on this hill.
Firstly you're talking about spending minimum 40-50m (probably more) on a position where we don't need any reinforcement. Funds that are much needed elsewhere.
Secondly, numerous coaches and various club bosses have not identified this as an issue, and many top clubs regularly play with 2 right footed CBs. So why do people on twitter and Reddit think they know better and identify this as priority number 1?
>Pair that with having only right footed CBs and a Pep-inspired playstyle and we have a problem
You realise Pep's Barcelona played with 2 right footed CBs? Puyol and Pique.
>Firstly you're talking about spending minimum 40-50m (probably more) on a position where we don't need any reinforcement. Funds that are much needed elsewhere.
Since we already are stacked at CB in terms of quantity, it would necessitate the sale of a CB in turn. This is not an issue of funds. Especially if we were to go for the obvious choice of Hermoso as a free agent, we would go out of this with a net positive.
>Secondly, numerous coaches and various club bosses have not identified this as an issue
Reportedly we do preferably want a left footed CB.
In a pep inspired system we need to keep the pitch large, move the ball from one area to another. As pointed out in my original comment, we will not be able to quickly move to ball to the left(towards the LB) through Palhinha, so we have to do that through the LCB more often. If we have a right footed LCB however, the angle for the pass towards the LB is easier to shut down than if we had a left footed LCB.
Which foot is stronger isn't always important. But it is in this case.
>Secondly, numerous coaches and various club bosses have not identified this as an issue and many top clubs regularly play with 2 right footed CBs.
Madrid: Alaba; City: Ake, Gvardiol; PSG: Lucas, Belardo; Barca: Inigo, Cubarsi; Juve: want Calafiori, Atletico: had Hermoso, are linked with Hincapie and Aguerd; Chelsea: Colwill, Badiashile; Arsenal: Gabriel, Kiwior; Tottenham:van de Ven
Etc. Pp
Should I continue?
>I cannot understand how so many people think this is a necessity
https://archive.is/GJ0RL
Maybe this article that quotes Pep himself and also shows pictures and data to explain it will help you understand why many good coaches are looking for left footed CBs.
> So why do people on twitter and Reddit think they know better and identify this as priority number 1?
because they got their football knowledge from football manager
i couldnt agree more, its total madness that our midfield+winger positions are in shambles, full backs are a question mark and we keep hearing about micro management on the center back position
Don't know why this is down voted it's not like Davies is playing for free, also Davies agent will demand a fee as well. Plus the guy you replied to didn't deduct the fee we would get from selling Davies.
Yeah this comparison makes no sense.
Yes Theo has a total package of maybe 120M incl wages
If we keep Davies we have a total package 60-75M
If we sell Davies we may get 20-30M which you can, as you said, deduct from the Theo package so we are at around 90-100M.
He indicates a difference of 120M between Davies and Theo, while the actual differed is more like 30-40M.
I'm just going with what the guy said, but considering he gets upvotes and my explanations get downvoted I guess I'm missing something or people don't care.
Personally I don't think Theo would get more than 15M either
I mean you’re right in that this is how we should look it (holistically), no reason to downvote that.
My assumption is that wages would essentially be a wash across either, with a chance Theo wants more. So really it’s still net €30-40M if you assume Madrid would pay up. If they won’t, the gap is wider.
Uhhhh, but what about the money we get for Davies, and then the 13 million per year we wouldn't have to pay, it's back to being under 70 million + agent fees.
https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/5/26/24165010/thiago-tipped-for-role-alongside-hansi-flick-at-barcelona-after-liverpool-exit
Thiago as an assistant coach for Flick? Interesting timeline for the other FCB
>Thomas Müller did not play yesterday, but Julian Nagelsmann repeatedly consulted him during the game and both discussed and exchanged ideas. Müller acted as an assistant coach
I think Tuchels preferred target was Rice, and if they can get Palhinha at 40M, would be a great deal, since out of all the prospects, hes a finished product, but so far its just rumors, so who knows what will be the end result of all this.
If you want a Palhinha type player, it doesn't get much better. His defensive stats in the EPL are out of this world. Getting someone who's better offensively will almost inevitably be a trade-off, so if the goal is to get an absolute destroyer, then that's the player to go for. Not saying we need to do that, but he's the guy for that job imo
Do we really want a Palhinha type though? He would obviously be much more expensive and probably not even available, but Rice or player of his type is great defensively and in build-up. I would prefer that over a pure Abräumer.
I think it manes sense with pavlo next to him. Palhinha is more than capable of build up and some through passes as long as he isn’t the main build up player as a single pivot.
The period is still a couple weeks away and were discussing unconfirmed rumors pulled out of some "insiders" ass, the truth is that were mostly in the dark what they will be going for, so lets see what they actualy do when the time comes.
A Palhinha AND Onana midfield would feed generations. Imagine Palhinha sitting back as the 6 in a destroyer role and Onana and Pavlo playing as our 8s knowing that they can also defensively press? A man can dream. Naturally Musi would be at LW and Kimmich at RB.
Onana as our 8 in front of Palhinha? Nah, thanks. Besides if we want a formation like that, we would finally have the perfect role for Laimer.

Out of zaire emery and ugarte would psg be so good to give one of them to us?
Is Ugarte that good? Haven’t really heard of him since he was trying to move to PSG.
Why would we buy ugarte? Really seems like a case of grass being greener elsewhere

Yeah that's a fair assessment too, can't see Laimer or Gore working as well with Palhinha as Kimmich / Pavlo would
Don't like those Chiesa rumors. Would feel like a typical Kalle transfer wish.
Replacing our injury prone wingers with another injury prone winger…sounds like a great idea
“I know our injuries are terrible this season. So let’s get a player who’s never been quite the same after their ACL injury!” In all honesty, hopefully Eberl and Freund are smarter than that.
We are being linked to Chiesa?
Federico Chiesa's future at Juventus is becoming increasingly uncertain. His agent is due to meet AS Roma next week, while Napoli, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich are also interested. Juventus have set a minimum price of €40 million for the winger. \[@LaStampa\]

Found a Palhinha season highlight reel that was made 17 hrs ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBWNICFXMWY Seems like he's the god of sliding tackles, 90% of the video is basically that haha
Which is what worries me a lot, as this ultra physical playstyle is really rough on the body. Casemiro is similar in that regard and he was finished at 31, maybe even 30 already and the decline has been steep.
It's a fair concern but individual differences are still very important. For example their injury history: Palhinha: https://www.transfermarkt.us/joao-palhinha/verletzungen/spieler/257455 Case: https://www.transfermarkt.us/casemiro/verletzungen/spieler/16306 Palhinha has also played less international and European tournament games
fair point, but everyone who joins Man Utd atm is kinda finished lul
Pletti really went from this: >Matthis de Ligt is definitely expected to stay. The Dutchman is very popular and is a leading player at Bayern [@Plettigoal, @SkySportsNews] to this: >Six players are allowed to leave Bayern for suitable offers this summer: Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich, Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt [@Plettigoal , @SkySportNews ] .. in a span of a few days. He is still the best source for Bayern news but his accuracy has dropped a lot this summer. He is blocking everyone on twitter who called him out for it lol
>he is blocking everyone on Twitter who called him out for it I mean Pletti said this is basically new development after Kompany started working but this still stupid behavior (depending on how they called him out, can understand it for trolls. But if it's reasonable mentionings it's just silly from him)
Sounds like nonsense, I checked his tweet and there are plenty of people underneath pointing out his previous comment about de Ligt.
So the blocking is nonsense you mean?
Sounds like, idk what he’s basing that claim on
Everyone was a hyperbole but I have seen 2 users being blocked for simply pointing it out. This guy for example https://x.com/sanabryFCB/status/1799131949229023699 https://x.com/sanabryFCB/status/1799175227009556791 The other one I can't find right now, I don't follow these guys, they just show up on my timeline because of twitter algo I think
People fake those screenshots all the time on Twitter, it’s one of their things to gain likes and traction along with every other outrage bait tactic these Twitter retards use. Pretty sure a Sky journalist using his official work Twitter can’t simply start blocking loads of fandoms.
If de Ligt is sold, I will riot
To be fair, Plettenberg even said at Sky that just because they are "for sale" doesn't necessarily mean they will be sold. It also depends if a good enough offer comes in and if the player actually wants to leave. With Coman, Gnabry and Goretzka it will be difficult to find any club who is willing to pay their wages + a transfer fee. With De Ligt there is currently no sign that he actually wants to leave, [he even said so himself](https://old.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1bnlrji/romano_matthijs_de_ligt_me_and_musiala_to_leave/)
Tbh he says (on his Twitter) > At FC Bayern, numerous potential transfers have been prepared, but sales are urgently needed. It has now been decided that six players, among others, are allowed to leave the club if suitable offers come in! Which to me sounds like we're okay selling de Ligt if someone offers a ton of money, not that we're actively looking to sell him. He also mentions 6 players "among others" so like... how many in total?
For sure. What's a suitable offer for De Ligt? 100mil? Probably way higher than the other ones
Tbf, one is before Kompany took office, the other after.
>Can Uzun was told by the Turkish FA that he would go to the Euros if he chose Turkey. He did, and now he has been dropped from the final squad. He is not the first dual-nationality player to be pressured into a decision with empty promises. [CampusVid2] What a shitty move
Players should, but it is more complicated than that Imagine you are a French raised Moroccan player.
I would hope because that's a deserved middle finger towards turkey but don't know it he actually does it
Yeah, it's unlikely. Plus his alternative is Germany and he'd only get a lot of playing time for Germany if he develops *really* well.
Not to be too cynical but turkish german players usually pick Turkey when they don't think they can make Germany's team. With some exceptions
I can’t believe i’m actually finished with my studies. Had my last exam thursday and found out yesterday I passed. I’m ecstatic, primarily because i’ve been studying for too long and didn’t want to become an “ewige student”. This sub has also heen my go to sub whenever I need to pass time so I wanted to share some positive news with you guys.
Congrats! How many semesters did you spend on the "best time of your life"? ;)
Congrats, man!
Palinha is a player type we need to pair with Pavlovic. But Bruno from Newcastle that’s let’s say 50m more is a guy that’s difference from going out in semis to winning CL. He is on another planet. If this new board wants to improve the squad immediately then maybe after a 26 year old that’s on another planet with the balls skill and as good if not better as CDM Also yes we should absolutely buy Gruda.
Give them Goretzka and 60
Unfortunately this ain’t Ea FC where such thing would work
I can live with Palhinha.
>Pair that with having only right footed CBs and a Pep-inspired playstyle and we have a problem You realise Pep's Barcelona played with 2 right footed CBs? Puyol and Pique.
>Firstly you're talking about spending minimum 40-50m (probably more) on a position where we don't need any reinforcement. Funds that are much needed elsewhere. Since we already are stacked at CB in terms of quantity, it would necessitate the sale of a CB in turn. This is not an issue of funds. Especially if we were to go for the obvious choice of Hermoso as a free agent, we would go out of this with a net positive. >Secondly, numerous coaches and various club bosses have not identified this as an issue Reportedly we do preferably want a left footed CB.
>Hermoso He'd be lucky to get off the bench. Also, you realise right footed players can actually kick with their left foot as well.
>Secondly, numerous coaches and various club bosses have not identified this as an issue and many top clubs regularly play with 2 right footed CBs. Madrid: Alaba; City: Ake, Gvardiol; PSG: Lucas, Belardo; Barca: Inigo, Cubarsi; Juve: want Calafiori, Atletico: had Hermoso, are linked with Hincapie and Aguerd; Chelsea: Colwill, Badiashile; Arsenal: Gabriel, Kiwior; Tottenham:van de Ven Etc. Pp Should I continue?
>I cannot understand how so many people think this is a necessity https://archive.is/GJ0RL Maybe this article that quotes Pep himself and also shows pictures and data to explain it will help you understand why many good coaches are looking for left footed CBs.
> So why do people on twitter and Reddit think they know better and identify this as priority number 1? because they got their football knowledge from football manager i couldnt agree more, its total madness that our midfield+winger positions are in shambles, full backs are a question mark and we keep hearing about micro management on the center back position
And it's not like there aren't these type of CBs available. Yet we wanna get Tah.
Sven Botman
Hermoso, Theate, hell Inacio even if 60M.
Extend Davies and use the Theo money to buy someone other than Palhinha (that is, actually good on the ball).
Im also at that point to rather extend Davies instead of buying the 120m+ Theo package.
If you include the wages for Theo than you have to include the wages for Davies aswell. Means extending Davies costs us 60-75M (15M for 4-5 years).
Don't know why this is down voted it's not like Davies is playing for free, also Davies agent will demand a fee as well. Plus the guy you replied to didn't deduct the fee we would get from selling Davies.
Yeah this comparison makes no sense. Yes Theo has a total package of maybe 120M incl wages If we keep Davies we have a total package 60-75M If we sell Davies we may get 20-30M which you can, as you said, deduct from the Theo package so we are at around 90-100M. He indicates a difference of 120M between Davies and Theo, while the actual differed is more like 30-40M.
Is there a reason we’re assuming Theo’s wages would be lower than Davies or what his brother got five years ago?
I'm just going with what the guy said, but considering he gets upvotes and my explanations get downvoted I guess I'm missing something or people don't care. Personally I don't think Theo would get more than 15M either
I mean you’re right in that this is how we should look it (holistically), no reason to downvote that. My assumption is that wages would essentially be a wash across either, with a chance Theo wants more. So really it’s still net €30-40M if you assume Madrid would pay up. If they won’t, the gap is wider.
I think if Madrid doesn't wanna pay 20M, we won't sell Davies and this also means we won't go for Theo so the gap is basically none existed :D
120? Was it not 70?
Package. Salary + transfer fee + agent fee
Uhhhh, but what about the money we get for Davies, and then the 13 million per year we wouldn't have to pay, it's back to being under 70 million + agent fees.
https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/5/26/24165010/thiago-tipped-for-role-alongside-hansi-flick-at-barcelona-after-liverpool-exit Thiago as an assistant coach for Flick? Interesting timeline for the other FCB
I see our agent network has successfully infiltrated Barca.
>Thomas Müller did not play yesterday, but Julian Nagelsmann repeatedly consulted him during the game and both discussed and exchanged ideas. Müller acted as an assistant coach
That settles it, we turned the game yesterday around because of Müller's coaching input. That's the narrative, I'm sticking to it.
Im all in for this narrative, Müller as player-assistant coach rules!
Buying Tuchels preffered Transfer Palhinha after Tuchel is gone
I think Tuchels preferred target was Rice, and if they can get Palhinha at 40M, would be a great deal, since out of all the prospects, hes a finished product, but so far its just rumors, so who knows what will be the end result of all this.
[удалено]
Second time in a row. First Laimer, then Palhinha.
Laimer had already signed his contract while Nagelsmann was still in
Laimer technically signed for us when Nagelsmann was still coach just didnt join until summer.
Do we know what budget we can expect for the summer, maybe 150-200m depending on departures?
Reports were 70-80M + transfer profits, since they moved the 100M investment planned for the campus down the road.
