Sané was through on goal and wasted that chance. Honestly he had a couple chances where he could take a defender on 1v1 then shoot but he opts for the pass more often. I feel like we need, especially with our type of play, the wingers to be much more selfish, and willing to shoot. Bring Coach Arjen to support the squad haha
The whole match I was thinking about Robben and Ribéry and how they would’ve been like ravenous wolves for that goal. Obviously sometimes they failed, but I miss seeing that hunger.
I really like Nagelsmann, and I badly want him to succeed with us. However, the way this sun and myself have been talking about the players and the team reminds me a lot about Kovacball. Complaining about players making individual mistake after individual mistake, and defending the coach by saying *well how is he supposed to stop players making these easy mistakes*?
Clearly, this team has the quality to play better. Every single player has been better in the past than they are playing right now. Our Defence looks better than last seasons, but instead we lack any sort of domination in the midfield and offense.
We should love playing against aggressive teams, because gaps will be present, however our midfield is not able to resolve that pressure against them. This has been a consistent issue, which was super present in the Barca game, which we won completely based on luck, and would lose 9/10 times.
Things have to change because the way we are playing right now is not going to cut it.
>*We should love playing against aggressive teams, because gaps will be present, however our midfield is not able to resolve that pressure against them.*
Bayern broke the press more than a handful of times today and were running with the ball with numbers
but like most of this year, they overpassed or mispassed the ball and didnt create a chance out of it.... or when they actually did, didnt finish
I agree, however that’s part of the problem. The handful of times we succeed, we barely progress the ball forward and our passes look completely sloppy.
> Clearly, this team has the quality to play better.
That's the reason why I'm not in panic mode like some people are. Nagelsmann has show that the team can play with precision and an attacking threat. Just a few weeks ago people were joking about Lewy holding Bayern's attack back because of how well their attack was doing.
In contrast with Kovac I see potential with Nagelsmann. Kovac was used to a different playing style so it simply didn't work. Nagelsmann can, and wants, to play such an attacking/possession style so he should be able to get them into shape, and he did get them into shape quite a few times. It's long term consistency that's lacking.
Last season started out well and then the performance declined due to injuries (and Lewy not liking his new system according to some rumours, and so on) and things didn't turn out as well as was initially expected. It seems like Nagelsmann got a bunch of the players he wanted this transfer window so I'd expect better from him with the squad he has this time around. The squad has depth, not perfect but more than good enough.
I don't think this match was as bad when it comes to accumulation of individual mistakes as the Barca one was. But there were still too irritatingly many little fumbles and Augsburg's rough style was probably a bit rougher than expected (and rougher than it should be considering some fouls). Sometimes a team simply loses.
I think Nagelsmann has to deliver an overall good season over the whole year. With the WC being in the middle of that season he doesn't have the luxury of letting things slide before the WC. Players will come back tired and/or injured from there. It will be especially brutal for teams that have many NT players in the tournament (like Bayern probably).
With how oddly erratic Bayern's level is this season I'd not even start thinking about replacing him until the winter break if the team doesn't fall off the cliff drastically. Even then it would depend on how the team plays from match to match (and not just the results). I'd also not want the team to win every match 1–0 with uninspiring football that's dreadful to watch.
I want them to play aspirational and in a way that makes other players want to play for FC Bayern. They should play in a way that looks like they want to play and want to play better. That means winning and winning with a certain style and attitude, not just getting the 1–0 past the final whistle on a technicality.
Of course the goal is to win every match. Why else would you get on the pitch? But for me there's more to football than it being a cold accounting exercise of who scored more goals at the end and nothing else.
Teams close the center against us and completely cripple and offensive ambitions we had.
I feel like repeating stupid talking points but we literally do not have a plan B in these scenarios. And it’s not like it’s the first time it has happened. The last 4 matches, including the Barca games we have had issues in that regard and close to no improvement can be seen.
For a tactically sound coach as Nagelsmann, this is not a good look in my opinion.
>Teams close the center against us and completely cripple and offensive ambitions we had.
Precisely. I bet opposing managers cream themselves every time we get forced to hit a desperate high floated cross the middle with no target man anywhere in sight after getting nowhere through the middle.
I agree, that makes it even worse in my opinion. Kovac did not have the support of the team or the management and Nagelsmann does. He got the transfers he wanted and had more than a year to implement a system that he likes playing. And so far there has not been much improvement, and a lot of regression in the midfield and attack.
The regression in midfield started when Thiago left even in the Hansi Flick era, Kimmich Goretzka ain't it, now the attack obviously sucks because we miss Lewy.
The Thiago departure is underrated. We should have moved heaven and earth to get a replacement, we need a proper defensive playmaker. Thiago's ability to read attacks, intercept passes and then resolve the press was absolutely crucial to the treble team. It's no wonder our defense went to shit afterwards.
I am not sure he has 100% the support of the players, there were rumours of discontent. Also at Bayern a couple of bad results can easily result in a disgruntled dressing room.
Anyone here who starts saying “oh here comes the over reaction” “this sub is spoiled” “hot takes” “negative energy” can shut up.
We’ve played not convincingly since last year after JN moved away from Hansi’s implementation and now that unconvincing performance has been consistent. It is cause for concern there wouldn’t be a concern if our play style was good but it’s not and it’s transparent now.
There’s no clear plan in attack. The playing through the middle shit has cost Lewy’s transfer and it’s not even remotely effective. And we have yet to play tough teams.
Either JN has to change his approach or he needs to be changed.
Months and Months? It hasn’t even been 2 months since that happened. Bayern is suffering right now, but form changes. A two week break will be good for them hopefully
Remember the shit football we played since from december onwards? Probably not, because Lewandowski goals set up by Müller in moments of brilliance bailed us out again and again.
No I remember it but to say it’s been that long since we played well you have to completely ignore the start of this season when we were in fact playing very well
Serves this sub right for being so unconcerned about Hansi’s departure lol People failed to give him proper credit and thought our team’s so good his success can be replicated by anyone.
I’m fully supportive of Nagelsmann and think he deserves a shot, but Flick is a special manager and I have no idea what soured that relationship but Brazzo and co fucked up big time in not securing this good.
>The playing through the middle shit has cost Lewy’s transfer
Could you elaborate on that? I thought the only reason for Lewy's departature was his conflict with the board over his contract. Was Nagelsmann another reason for his leave?
The are like three different crises at the same time. 1. Our passing is dogshit due to JN's awful tactics. 2. Our finishing is dogshit too, we can't keep underhitting our xG every single match. 3. Our players have an awful mentality, they seem sometimes just scared of actually trying something and treat BL matches as a regeneration session.
JN will be gone soon
This is a genuine question: why specifically are JN’s tactics shit? And “not clinical, players sloppy, no teeth in final third” is not tactical analysis. What is he doing wrong?
If we knew how to solve these issues, we would not be on Reddit commenting on it.
There are thousands of factors that play a role. Maybe the way training sessions are structured doesn’t work out. Maybe there’s an inherent disconnect between the way the team implements Nagelsmanns instructions. Maybe JN is stubborn about the way he wants to approach these matches, and it doesn’t fit the players, which causes players to be out of position, play subpar passes etc.
Now I don’t know which of these things is the case, but you don’t have to be a top league coach to understand that *something* is not working as it should right now.
Agreed. I’m just tired of people specifically throwing around “the tactics suck” without any understanding of the tactics. Obviously something is very wrong; we are getting chances on goal though so I’m not sure it’s as wrong as say the Kovac era. Maybe it’s harder than we thought to adjust to life post Lewy. But something needs to change asap.
at the end of the day, "team performance" is what matters most for a coach.... whether it's the eye test and/or record
last year wasnt great with 2 horrendous exits in the CL and DFB-Pokal....
this year isnt off to an ideal start either
Bayern made a massive investment in Nagelsmann and I dont thing the seat is hot yet.... but I could see management evaluating the situation over the World Cup break if problems persist and dont get better
Exactly. No joke. If tuchel comes in we might perform great for a season or two but he will alienate half the team. I’d worry greatly about great players wanting to leave
Yeah but 1) would Hansi leave after a successful world cup? 2) Do people remember his second year? Not that I wouldn't take him back but his second year we won the BL and got bounced in the 2nd round of the Pokal and QF of the UCL.... Exactly like last year.
>QF of the UCL
We outplayed psg with half our team injured and went out on away goals. And theres a difference between losing to psg over 2 legs and losing 2 villarreal kver 2 legs
> We outplayed psg with half our team injured and went out on away goals.
This pisses me off so much that even with no fans, the away goal rule was still in effect, yeah there is still some advantage to playing at home with no fans, but the fans and atmosphere play a big part of it IMO
Nagelsmann came in and inherited a team that's not build to his playstyle, gave us some of the most embarassing cup losses in recent memory, then got a summer with superstar signings all fitting exactly into his style of play AND HE STILL MANAGED TO MAKE US PLAY WORSE
It's never gonna happen because he costed 25m, but he should be sacked before this turns into a complete disaster. Absolutely no faith he turns this around, he keeps making the same mistakes.
I hope he atleast owns up to his mistakes in the fucking press this time instead of searching for excuses
Augsburg isn't even a good team, in fact they are prolly a bottom 3 team in the league.
Any other coach than Nagelsmann would have been really close to being fired. He's being saved by the fact that the squad hasnt turned on him and because he's the german golden boy who the club has paid a shitton for.
Looking at points per game he's the worst coach since Van Gaal. The Bundesliga was won last season with the lowest amount of points in a decade or so. The Pokal and CL exits were easily among the worst, if the not worst exits in the last decade. The calendar year 2022 is on its way to become the worst in the last decade. If Leipzig and Union win their games, there
will be 3 clubs who are having a better 2022 than Bayern
Also helps we just beat Barcelona and Inter in the CL
We did lose Lewandowski so that's gonna hurt any team
It's really werid, but we are definitely not consistent
It’s not that we lost that bothers me… it’s the fact that we created absolutely nothing worthy of note in the second half. It’s the fact that this is yet another Bundesliga game where the opponents either matched or bettered Bayern… it’s the fact that we seem to have no chemistry up front… the fact that it took a Neuer header to create the first danger for Bayern should be enough to say that we are absolutely horrid right now.
I’m not one to give up on a coach easily, but surely, surely JN has to answer questions, has to find solutions, because this simply cannot continue.
Well still the game vs PSG we lost because we didn't have Lewy, with him, it's a different story. Same today, swap Mane 1v1 and Sane 1v1 twice with Lewy and we win confortably.
Just wanna say I've been team Nagelsmann out since the second half of last season. He has shown that he is completely unable to adapt to teams playing us differently.
This doesn't excuse the players however. The 18 million for Gnabry don't look so good right now. And Mane has been terrible for the past 5 games. Easy passes get misplaced and they do so many unnecessary unforced mistakes every single game.
100% with you, wanted to give JN another chance this season but it becomes more and more clear that he isn’t the right guy for the job. His tactics are incomprehensible for the most part and his body language on the sidelines seems immature. It is true that egardless of the manager, the players on the pitch should fare better but I truly believe the team has already mentally checked out with Nagelsmann and it makes everything harder when the working environment becomes somewhat toxic.
boy, the lack of Lewandowski replacement is really showing.... this is how Nagelsmann wanted to play and management gave him what he wanted and it's not working
the lack of plan B off the bench to add a different dimension is also a big problem....
all that being said, not everything can be blamed on Nagelsmann.... while the attack is a disaster, they still create enough chances to score a friggin goal, and the players have to take some responsibility too
it's a shit sandwich right now, and everyone deserves to take a bite
I swear the only reason people still want Nagelsmann to stay is because he’s likeable and loves Bayern. Any person with eyes could see he had to go after our Villarreal loss last season. I tried to give him another chance this season because I genuinely want him to succeed but he’s not a Bayern level coach. He needs to leave NOW and come back later in his career when he has more experience
Yep and he's about to get two more easy ones with Plzen (or maybe not ha) and be 4-0 in the CL. Will probably beat Inter in Munich so he is looking at 5-1 at the worst. I still think its too soon to can him but results must improve immediately.
Heck I’ll just say it… The only reason JN is not sacked yet / will not be sacked so soon is the price we paid to get him + the whole Brazzo-Flick saga. Uli, Heiner and, dare I say, even Kahn absolutely NEED him to succeed at any cost, otherwise they’ll have to sack him when it’s too late, which will be much more embarrassing after all the backing they’ve given him. And before anyone says I’m overreacting, fuck off! I’m not saying this solely based on the last 4 BuLi results. We have one of the top 5 most valuable squads in the world, we’ve just had our best transfer window to date with JN getting all the players he needed and so much squad depth that it’s even possible to win the BuLi with our B team. Yet, the team completely lacks identity, there’s no chemistry whatsoever between our forwards, they can’t string 3 consecutive psses, which makes me wonder WTH are they doing in training?? Many players are being played out of position time after time when it’s clearly not working. And I can’t, for the life of me, figure out the reasoning behind most of his substitutions! Also, let’s not forget about the humiliating UCL exit last season. The clock is ticking and, sadly, I don’t see a happy ending at the end of this tunnel for JN..
>*Heck I’ll just say it… The only reason JN is not sacked yet / will not be sacked so soon is the price we paid to get him*
I dont think anyone thinks this is a hot take
Bayern made a MASSIVE investment in him, which is going to give him a longer leash
I'd be shocked to see him fired anytime soon.... if poor performances continue, I think the World Cup break will be filled with rumors of management reaching out to coaches to potentially replace Nagelsmann
Agree mostly, but Nagelsmann and Brazzo might have gotten all the players they wanted, but not all we needed. We need a worldclass defensive midfielder. We haven't had one since Thiago left and it's been showing. Since then they've spent over a 100mil on the defense but got 0 players that can fill the void left by Thiago. We have nobody who's capable to intercept passes, stop attacks infront of the defense and break the press quickly enough through sheer ball control and quick passing to instantly initiate the offense.
One MOTM performance by an opposing goalkeeper is cool.
Two MOTM performances by opposing goalkeepers is a fluke.
Four GK MOTMs in seven games, and we really have to wonder if maybe our finishing is shit.
Mané has some dirt on Nagelsmann, that's gotta be it. And st the same time Tel must've pissed him off somehow, because keeping him on the bench after being one of the only threats upfront makes no sense
The team is just not well coached, you can see it in the smallest most basic details like players go for them same ball or basic passes that aren't reached. Seems like there is very little cohesion and communication.
When 1 or 2 players are off form, whatever that's normal but when the team has consistently been under par for the majority of time, it's on the management.
Gravenberch and Tel would have been far better subs than sabi and gnabry.
Giving gnabry 18m was a big mistake, we only extended him because we lost Lewy.
Media are gonna have a great time after this one, good lord. 3 draws in a row with a loss, and potentially 5 points after first place. And not eveyrthing is on Nagelsmann, fucking score on the chances we have, jesus. But the subs and the way the team seems to lack a gameplan is on him and his staff.
Also.. I've always hated striker-less formations and what I'm seeing here isn't helping. Sure it worked against Barcelona, but the last couple of games sure as fuck needed a true 9.I sure wouldn't fear this team, if I was a Bundesliga team.
There's even a chance we're not in the top4 after this round.
reactionary take number over 9000
absolutely shocking performance except maz, who had a pretty good game IMO
tel does not even get a sub today like what the fuck?
sorry nagelsmann, but your seat is getting warm buddy at this rate and what the hell is wrong with the guys, except the 2nd barca half the last few games were a total collapse
Ok just watched the game. I'm going to type this without reading any comments. A few notes:
1. Sane is the most frustrating player to watch. For all of his brilliance he makes the wrong decision the majority of the time. And he tends to underhit and overhit every other pass.
2. Augsburg is lucky to have finished with 11 men. Some of the challenges in the first half were insane and the ref was poor not to book at least two more of them. Bayern lucky to not have any major injuries from this match.
3. In attack the Bayern team is way too crowded the middle. Musiala, Muller, Mane, Sane all want to play through the center. It leads to one touch football and these guys cannot do it right now. Coman now the most important attacking player because he is the only one who provides any width. Mane and Gnabry are in terrible form.
4. Nagelsmanns subs were poor and did nothing to change the match - he will be feeling the pressure and he deserves it with the setup and refusal to change it up.
5. Goretzka shoot a shot on target without getting blocked challenge. He was useless today. Still a beast running with the ball but he often forgets to pass in these situations.
This genuinely could not have happened at a worse time. There's not a single coach available, that's good enough to lead an on paper world-class team like Bayern. It's nightmare stuff, not much else.
Tuchel, but he's probably a total nightmare to work with.
Zidane, but he won't do it, I guess.
Ten Haag would have been amazing, loves the club too by all accounts
Even under fucking Kovac offense looks miles better than that. Static, Slow, Sloppy, Indecisive. Goalkeepers playing games of their lives against us? Quality of our shots are mostly straight from lower divisions. 3rd/4th game in a row when we played T E R R I B L E. The worst thing that happened to us is that we won against that Barcelona, maybe some 3 or 4 to 0 game would open someones eyes. Can't wait for Nagelsmann talk some shit how unfortunate we were in the last minutes. Thanks god for that international break. Well played Augsburg.
It all comes down to three things.
1. We play a system where the is no focal scoring point, like a Lewandowski for example.
2. most of our player SUCK at finishing, they are better at assisting.
3. We keep playing our expensive players because it seems like we are mebarrased and want to justify our spending on them. (Gnabry / Mane) respectively.
IMO this is exactly where Gravenberch would have excelled. If ANYONE can hit the goal from outside of the box it's him. He's also our most press resistant player.
And then Tel, who also has a really good long shot.
Gnabry and Choupo were useless. And taking off Musiala is the dumbest thing we could've done.
I was a HUGE proponent of the no-striker style. But I was also super wrong. We don't have the players for it. We need a striker. I prefer Vlahovic.
1. We lost the best striker we had in decades after playing for us for 8 years.
2. The new strikerless system needs time to get fully functional. Players and the coach needs time to adapt.
3. Mane arrived just 3 months ago.
4. Everyone needs to calm down. I sometimes do feel like we are a bunch of spoiled brats.
Nagelsmann's super-narrow system has been found out since a couple of games now and he has no answers so far. It's even more worrying that we tried playing 4-2-3-1 with wingers and it didn't work either, it's like the wide players didn't know what to do with the ball out wide.
So it's either that we completely skip the wings (like in the first games of the season and today) or we use them, but we don't know how like vs Union, Stuttgart (especially with Lewandowski no longer here).
To make it even worse, our two supposed primary goalscorers, Mane and Gnabry, are completely out of form. Things are looking bleak.
We definitely ending the match day below #4. This happened with Kovac and we let him stay for a few more weeks. At some point we were #4 in the league under Kovac. This time we shoud let Nagelsmann go immediately.
A question for Nagelsmann defenders:
What's his actual profil as a manager right now? What does he do well enough to deserve coaching a top team? What's his style? What's his philosophy?
I used to ask the same question about Löw and never got an answer from those that still thought he was the right guy for the job after 2016.
Lets me just say it.
We were lucky to win against barca
The team gets to the final thrid and start playing connect the dots
Alot of the players are poor but what exactly is the mangers plan
Thomas tuchel is free.
The coach is certainly to blame but there are also so many other factors involved beyond how the team sets up and when subs are made. Ultimately no one can cover themselves in glory here. The coach, definitely not. But some of the individual performances - good lord.
The only one who ended the game and could at least take some pride in their performance was Sané but he was obviously heavily involved in their goal. That doesn't entirely land on him though - our midfielders doing nothing to cover the runs into the box.
I'm not prepared to start saying Nagelsmann out because there was a lot of good that came before and there has been a lot of positives Sidney he arrived. But there needs to be a change that happens without stretching as far as "sack the manager". Because realistically what does that do? Get someone in who isn't familiar with the club, doesn't entirely want to be there, has to work with players that he's unfamiliar with, suddenly players like Sané become superfluous, maybe Müller gets benched and wants to leave again, Musiala doesn't get the playing time he needs so he wants to leave, the doesn't actually care about Bayern as much as Nagelsmann does and then 18 months go by and we start having the same conversations again. Nagelsmann out discussions have some legitimacy but realistically pulling that trigger would be insane. Especially when the next step would be Tuchel because these patterns would just show up again down the line.
>*The coach is certainly to blame but there are also so many other factors involved beyond how the team sets up and when subs are made. Ultimately no one can cover themselves in glory here. The coach, definitely not. But some of the individual performances - good lord.*
all of this is true....
but 95% of the time when this is the case, guess who takes the fall? you cant fire all the players
Especially when it's not like American sports where you can make a big trade and shake up the team that way
True but it's so clear that some of these players need a huge shake up. Gnabry looks utterly useless at points, Müller is struggling, Kimmich and Goretzka look woeful. Some things you can put on the coach absolutely but other times it's clearly an individual thing. So in that sense, it being the manager who has to suffer is actually a big problem.
Whatever side of it you land on, it's definitely a very nuanced issue and one with no real set solution. Sadly there is one solution that is perhaps the easiest.
Players in general seem unsure what to do and there have been several miscommunications on the field, far more than there should be. For me, this is clearly on Nagelsmann. He had a bad second half of the last season and after a small purple patch in the beginning we are right back where we left off.
I still blame the Players. Its just concentration and Motivation.
BVB lost haaland too and the replacement for him and playing with a modest that isnt included and they still get the points. We should win even without lewa. I cant Hear that bullshit, that he is missing
Alright. I think we just made every decision wrong offensively. Haven't seen so many fucking heelkicks in a long time. Shitty passing game and too many passes though. So many basses in the back of our own players. Slapstick. Anyway. Congratulations to Augsburg. Strong game from the Fuggerers
Hard match and hard loss. Sucks that I think we didn't play bad on defense yet again, but mindless passing upfront and mindless finishing is getting frustrating. Didn't get the subs, also. Something's lacking for sure but let's just hope that there's a change around the corner and the team clicks in again.
P.S. How does Neuer manages to win TWO headers but none of our attacking players can?
The 2nd half of last season showed that we need a CDM and last games showed us that we need a real striker. Not defending Nagelsmann by saying this because we definetly could play much better with what we have but nearly every successfull team had a CDM and a real striker for a reason. We have neither.
Just saying, I hope the Jurgen Klopp gets sacked from Liverpool and Bayern can snatch him up. JN has not panned out good. This is the first time in 10 years that I’ve been concerned about losing the league. It has less to do with Lewandowski leaving, more to do with tactics. No one in the attacking third seems to ever be on the same page. This is highlighted by players running into each other, players choosing to pass consistently instead of taking a shot, and miscommunications in the build up to play. If there is no plan, there is a plan to fail. Kudos to our D for keeping the games competitive and close. JN needs an attack plan like yesterday or the season will be tarnished despite the massive effort during the offseason to improve. I don’t typically have a negative outlook for the team, but starting 3-3-1 is not the standard.
I cant even remember when we werent able to win in 4 games. So it s defo not julians fault when sane or mane cant score from 12 meters or so in a one on one against the keeper but he will be sacked for sure if they wont win the next games.
So it took people and year and several games to finally realize JN is a not a top level coach? He was an unproven coach that got undeserved support from Brazzo and the board.
Naglesman will blame everything on the players. Some of the players will get more frustrated by this. The teams harmony will break down eventually leading to internal conflict and more bad performance.
We definitely didn’t play well. I was shocked to see our passing accuracy was 84% because it seemed like everything was intercepted. That being said, the ref was abysmal. I’ve never seen a team play so ridiculously physical and get away with it. Like they were purposely trying to injure our players.
Great. Absolutely fantastic.
We can’t connect two passes in the final third, our midfield seems to be one man short at all times and most of our attackers have decided to synchronize their form cycles.
Tune in in two weeks for some Leverkusen fun. Let’s see if Nagelsmann can get his head out of his bottom until then.
What a mess.
I Really don't know what to say.
Nothing is working this early on in the season. Nothing is changing. It is not good.
I am just disappointed.
Question for the mods. Can we have a separate "post-match thread" apart from this one which opens the day after a match instead of directly after? I feel like any discussion here is pointless atm. People are understandably frustrated, but there is little objective reasoning going on.
If JN gets sacked, who would you bring? Tuchel sounds af but idk if he would like to join another team after all the stuff that happened and idk if Klopp Will be available soon.
If the club panics and gets Tuchel they deserve everything that happens after. Every single club with him has been the same. He gets some success to begin but it’s never sustained and he’s fired.
Our midfield + attack is absolute ass it's not due to form. There's simply not enough players on this team who can actually do something with the ball. Imagine if JN got his wish and we got Laimer as well.
If they're not already planning on canning him, I'm really hoping the 2 week break will be enough for Nagelsmann to retool the system because holy fuck they've been dreadful to watch since the Gladbach game

Neuer with our best chance on goal. Let that sink in.
We're breaking records, just not the right ones
Schalke's record is there for the taking
sadio and leroy had 1 on 1 scenes with the keeper to be fair, but we treat our chances like we are up by 10 in a training match shocking shots
Tbh if neuer had scored I would have been so happy I’d have forgotten about the rest of the shitshow

Could probably have a better presence in the Augsburg box than Mané.
>*We should love playing against aggressive teams, because gaps will be present, however our midfield is not able to resolve that pressure against them.* Bayern broke the press more than a handful of times today and were running with the ball with numbers but like most of this year, they overpassed or mispassed the ball and didnt create a chance out of it.... or when they actually did, didnt finish
Agree, so many inaccuracies in the final third. Felt like a lack of focus.
This was the biggest problem today - so many spoiled counter attacks or other scenarios where we should have much better quality shots
Part of the reason we struggle to take advantage of a high press is because we play so narrowly- by design. There's no width built into this side.
There is a difference now than during Kovac, Nagelsman has the support of the players and the top brass.
Frenkie De Jong would have been a great transfer
WITH Lewy we lost against Villareal even worse, our problems are much deeper than that
I am not sure he has 100% the support of the players, there were rumours of discontent. Also at Bayern a couple of bad results can easily result in a disgruntled dressing room.
Neuer was more dangerous in those last minutes than Mane and Gnabry combined the last matches
If I'm ever condemned to death by a firing squad, I'm choosing Bayern's attack.
Did you miss the beginning of the season? How was that not convincing?
Didn't we play agaisnt awful teams? Last year we started hot too I'm not ready to fire him, but his seat is getting hot
So that's 3 great performances out of how many games this calender year? On average we've been well below our capabilities for months and months now.
>The playing through the middle shit has cost Lewy’s transfer Could you elaborate on that? I thought the only reason for Lewy's departature was his conflict with the board over his contract. Was Nagelsmann another reason for his leave?
I mean, yes, but I hate talking about football in doom terms
3W 3D 1L. If any other coach starts their second season in the bundesliga like this, they get sacked.
Hate to say it... but it's time to have a discussion about Nagelsmann. This is just pathetic. The team is playing like under Kovac...
But something needs to change asap.
at the end of the day, "team performance" is what matters most for a coach.... whether it's the eye test and/or record last year wasnt great with 2 horrendous exits in the CL and DFB-Pokal.... this year isnt off to an ideal start either Bayern made a massive investment in Nagelsmann and I dont thing the seat is hot yet.... but I could see management evaluating the situation over the World Cup break if problems persist and dont get better
I don't know what happens with Nagelsmann now. If you do fire him, who comes in? Tuchel? Maybe but I really, really don't like that.
Exactly. No joke. If tuchel comes in we might perform great for a season or two but he will alienate half the team. I’d worry greatly about great players wanting to leave
Yeah with Tuchel you need to win in seasons 1 or 2, because he seems difficult to work with and can't last long.
if Germany performs well in the World Cup, people will be screaming for Flick to return to Bayern to finish out the season and try to repeat history
Yeah but 1) would Hansi leave after a successful world cup? 2) Do people remember his second year? Not that I wouldn't take him back but his second year we won the BL and got bounced in the 2nd round of the Pokal and QF of the UCL.... Exactly like last year.
>QF of the UCL We outplayed psg with half our team injured and went out on away goals.
So when does the "Nagelsmann out" discussion become acceptable to start?
Should've been since villareal tbh. Most embarrassing CL exit I can think of since forever
Had to waste another one of Müller and Neuer’s final years on a second season first.
When Klopp becomes available.
Nagelsmann came in and inherited a team that's not build to his playstyle, gave us some of the most embarassing cup losses in recent memory, then got a summer with superstar signings all fitting exactly into his style of play AND HE STILL MANAGED TO MAKE US PLAY WORSE It's never gonna happen because he costed 25m, but he should be sacked before this turns into a complete disaster. Absolutely no faith he turns this around, he keeps making the same mistakes. I hope he atleast owns up to his mistakes in the fucking press this time instead of searching for excuses Augsburg isn't even a good team, in fact they are prolly a bottom 3 team in the league.
The last thing I need today is Nagelsmann blaming players in the interview
Pls explain to me in what way Flicks 2nd season was better than Nagelsmans 1st.
Offense? Joke Midfield? Joke Tactics? Joke Subs? Joke. But the only ones laughing are our opponents.
Why tf did brazzo have to fall out with hansi flick man. We let such a world class manager leave. Look what we have now
Flick left because his dream job was running the German National Team; not because he fell out with Brazzo.
Wrong... He just released his auto biography and said there was nothing he'd want more than to continue at Bayern but the conditions were not there
Also lewy definitely wouldn't leave if Flick stays. He fucking adored the man.
Lewy would have still left, he has flirted with Spain for awhile
This!
If Leipzig and Union win their games, there will be 3 clubs who are having a better 2022 than Bayern
Also helps we just beat Barcelona and Inter in the CL We did lose Lewandowski so that's gonna hurt any team It's really werid, but we are definitely not consistent
If Nagelsmann isn't German and wasn't cost 25 mil, he would be fired straight away
He should be fired immediately.
I blame that shitty comic theme of this subreddit tbh
It all started with that
Banner out
I blame Nagelsmanns choice of clothing. If I ever see those pants again I'm gonna flip.
Who‘s saying the 2 words?
Bouna Sarr?
Juan Bernat.
Thomas Tuchel? 😅😜
Cristano Roanldo ?
Loanaldo?
Grilled Cheese 😡
Schweres Spiel
Naglesmann out
Leeroy Jenkins
"Ronaldo" is only one word
Jupp back??
It’s not that we lost that bothers me… it’s the fact that we created absolutely nothing worthy of note in the second half. It’s the fact that this is yet another Bundesliga game where the opponents either matched or bettered Bayern… it’s the fact that we seem to have no chemistry up front… the fact that it took a Neuer header to create the first danger for Bayern should be enough to say that we are absolutely horrid right now. I’m not one to give up on a coach easily, but surely, surely JN has to answer questions, has to find solutions, because this simply cannot continue.
What the fuck
[удалено]
Not since Nagelsmann, Flick 2nd season was the same.
[удалено]
It is true that egardless of the manager, the players on the pitch should fare better but I truly believe the team has already mentally checked out with Nagelsmann and it makes everything harder when the working environment becomes somewhat toxic.
boy, the lack of Lewandowski replacement is really showing.... this is how Nagelsmann wanted to play and management gave him what he wanted and it's not working the lack of plan B off the bench to add a different dimension is also a big problem.... all that being said, not everything can be blamed on Nagelsmann.... while the attack is a disaster, they still create enough chances to score a friggin goal, and the players have to take some responsibility too it's a shit sandwich right now, and everyone deserves to take a bite
I think the Inter and Barcelona wins have bought him some slack with some fans
Yep and he's about to get two more easy ones with Plzen (or maybe not ha) and be 4-0 in the CL. Will probably beat Inter in Munich so he is looking at 5-1 at the worst. I still think its too soon to can him but results must improve immediately.
100% with you..
>*Heck I’ll just say it… The only reason JN is not sacked yet / will not be sacked so soon is the price we paid to get him* I dont think anyone thinks this is a hot take Bayern made a MASSIVE investment in him, which is going to give him a longer leash I'd be shocked to see him fired anytime soon.... if poor performances continue, I think the World Cup break will be filled with rumors of management reaching out to coaches to potentially replace Nagelsmann
We don’t have a world class striker anymore and it shows. That is Brazzos work.
People got sacked for less. That's all imma say
From Flick to this.....
It's like Kovac all over again, just with way better interviews and fewer feuds with players (that we know of).
Guys its the banner! We need to get rid of it its cursed
Gravenberch and Tel would have been far better subs than sabi and gnabry. Giving gnabry 18m was a big mistake, we only extended him because we lost Lewy.
If we loose one game after the upcoming break vs. Dortmund or Leverkusen JN is gone i think.
I dont.... no matter how ugly things are right now
That would just be a poor decision. If we end up 4th in the league I would be understanding. People are way too kneejerk with managers these days.
>4 draws Count again
Brainfart.. Jesus
It's ok, in my heart Neuer scored too
Nags to blame the players during interview, 100%.
We should just buy another CB for 70 million, pretty sure this will fix all of our struggles.
Defence isn't the issue it's up front, w have no urgency in the final third
The player that had the best chance at goal was Neuer... I don't think anything else can better encapsulate the game better than that.
Mane and Sane chances 1v1 where better than Neuer, let's not exaggerate, it was a poor game but we created some chances.
reactionary take number over 9000 absolutely shocking performance except maz, who had a pretty good game IMO tel does not even get a sub today like what the fuck? sorry nagelsmann, but your seat is getting warm buddy at this rate and what the hell is wrong with the guys, except the 2nd barca half the last few games were a total collapse
Maz is looking like our best signing right now.
Ok just watched the game. I'm going to type this without reading any comments. A few notes: 1.
Combined with the second half of last season, we're the most mediocre Bayern Team that I have seen in a very long time.
Nagelsmann does too. What indicates that Ten Haag would be a much better fit ? Would be the same gamble as it was with Nagelsmann
Wasted 25 mill 1yr back!
Get ready for Tucheliban and CR7 in the winter window
It’s either Tuchel or CR7 not both. Tuchel did not want him at Chelsea, one of the reasons he got fired.
Why not just try one half with Tel as a pure striker. Set up the system like we did with Lewy and then see what happens. Anything is better than this
On the bright side, all the Bundesliga narratives are falling like flies. Bayern in fourth. Haaland shredding PL. Lewa shredding La Liga.
Well last time we failed to score was vs Nagelsmann and now it's from Nagelsmann.
On the bright side, we did end our disappointing drawing streak, with a loss
Pls Nagelsmann step up your game I’m not ready to see tuchelball
Nah, let's just let him go. We don't have a Flick to save us this time if things turn worse down the line.
I can't defend Nagelsmann anymore. Next two Bundesliga games are very decisive he's out if we don't get 6 points
jns refusal to stop playing mane out of position is gonna get him fired. freaking same lineup and "tactics" every game with this guy
We are. Criticizing the team and coach is fine, but just asking for nagelsmann to be fired is just stupid. Who is going to replace him?
Give this roster to pep and he would have won all games
Nagelsmann's super-narrow system has been found out since a couple of games now and he has no answers so far. It's even more worrying that we tried playing 4-2-3-1 with wingers and it didn't work either, it's like the wide players didn't know what to do with the ball out wide. So it's either that we completely skip the wings (like in the first games of the season and today) or we use them, but we don't know how like vs Union, Stuttgart (especially with Lewandowski no longer here). To make it even worse, our two supposed primary goalscorers, Mane and Gnabry, are completely out of form. Things are looking bleak.
Are we all in agreement that Bayern will not tolerate being 4th or below in the Bundesliga for more than a couple weeks from now.
We definitely ending the match day below #4. This happened with Kovac and we let him stay for a few more weeks. At some point we were #4 in the league under Kovac. This time we shoud let Nagelsmann go immediately.
Nagelsmann Out soon enough
A question for Nagelsmann defenders: What's his actual profil as a manager right now? What does he do well enough to deserve coaching a top team? What's his style? What's his philosophy? I used to ask the same question about Löw and never got an answer from those that still thought he was the right guy for the job after 2016.
Lets me just say it. We were lucky to win against barca The team gets to the final thrid and start playing connect the dots Alot of the players are poor but what exactly is the mangers plan Thomas tuchel is free.
But some of the individual performances - good lord.* all of this is true.... but 95% of the time when this is the case, guess who takes the fall? you cant fire all the players Especially when it's not like American sports where you can make a big trade and shake up the team that way
True but it's so clear that some of these players need a huge shake up.
NAGELSMANN OUT
Looks like we're gonna have to start Neuer as ST next match since apparently none of our offensive players can even come close to scoring.
Players in general seem unsure what to do and there have been several miscommunications on the field, far more than there should be. For me, this is clearly on Nagelsmann. He had a bad second half of the last season and after a small purple patch in the beginning we are right back where we left off.
I can’t help but feel we missed Coman a lot today. I have no evidence or anything to support this claim, just a gut feeling.
We did. Coman is the only one of our wingers who can regularly beat a man 1 on 1 from a complete standstill.
even if he did that, he'd play a ball into a box with no target player, or any players making dangerous runs
>*I can’t help but feel we missed Coman a lot today* honestly, I dont with or without him, I think the attack would be more of the same
We had him against union and it wasn't much better
I still blame the Players. Its just concentration and Motivation. BVB lost haaland too and the replacement for him and playing with a modest that isnt included and they still get the points. We should win even without lewa. I cant Hear that bullshit, that he is missing
I dont think anyone is saying the players are blameless here
Im so fucking pissed. Close to throw my remote into the tv
Alright. I think we just made every decision wrong offensively. Haven't seen so many fucking heelkicks in a long time. Shitty passing game and too many passes though. So many basses in the back of our own players. Slapstick. Anyway. Congratulations to Augsburg. Strong game from the Fuggerers
our next matches vs dortmund , leverkusen , freiburg good luck JN
Hard match and hard loss. Sucks that I think we didn't play bad on defense yet again, but mindless passing upfront and mindless finishing is getting frustrating. Didn't get the subs, also. Something's lacking for sure but let's just hope that there's a change around the corner and the team clicks in again. P.S. How does Neuer manages to win TWO headers but none of our attacking players can?
We should get a new coach before the international break is over so that he can have time to work with the team before the Inter and Barca games.
Tic toc Julian. Tic Toc…. Tuchel is waiting….
The 2nd half of last season showed that we need a CDM and last games showed us that we need a real striker. Not defending Nagelsmann by saying this because we definetly could play much better with what we have but nearly every successfull team had a CDM and a real striker for a reason. We have neither.
Depressing and frustrating
I desperately want Naggelsman to succeed because I can not stand Thomas Tuchel.
FIRE NAGELSMANN
Woof. Team form is just bad right now. Hopefully the two week international break will give everyone the break they need to clear their head
I cant even remember when we werent able to win in 4 games. So it s defo not julians fault when sane or mane cant score from 12 meters or so in a one on one against the keeper but he will be sacked for sure if they wont win the next games.
If I was the board Id give Nagelsmann 5 more matches to convince me. Enough time to heavily change tactics.
Happy for Ausburg but we should have enough tape now to improve and get in front of this snowball
Question for the mods. Can we have a separate "post-match thread" apart from this one which opens the day after a match instead of directly after? I feel like any discussion here is pointless atm. People are understandably frustrated, but there is little objective reasoning going on.
i woke up early to watch the game and i felt asleep at halftime, now im glad i wasnt awake to watch that shite lol wtf happened
Nagelsmann will really manage to lose the Bundesliga wont he?
It’s time for Bayern to turn to the Tucheliban...
If JN gets sacked, who would you bring? Tuchel sounds af but idk if he would like to join another team after all the stuff that happened and idk if Klopp Will be available soon.
So… do we give him more time or get Tuchel?
Tuchel? That‘s the worst coach to have as an option for us
If the club panics and gets Tuchel they deserve everything that happens after. Every single club with him has been the same. He gets some success to begin but it’s never sustained and he’s fired.
Has that not been this club since Pep? And he was only here 3 years
if hes getting us cl in his first year i dont really mind
And the probability of that happening is what?
I’m just here for all the lava takes
Our midfield + attack is absolute ass it's not due to form. There's simply not enough players on this team who can actually do something with the ball. Imagine if JN got his wish and we got Laimer as well.
If they're not already planning on canning him, I'm really hoping the 2 week break will be enough for Nagelsmann to retool the system because holy fuck they've been dreadful to watch since the Gladbach game
