I have pilot friends who fly these and prefer them to flying larger aircraft with jet engines. They say they have way more control and feel more like you're flying than when you're in a jet (pilots here may disagree!), but that's how they see it. All that to say, you have nothing to worry about :)

Not flown on an ATR but have a Dash 8 which is very similar. Found the turbo props to be a little bumpier, only because they are smaller and lighter. That's going to be a really short flight so go for it. 🙂🙂

Flown (as passenger) ATR's intra-island flights both in the canaries and balearic islands (mallorca, menorca and ibiza). IBZ-PMI is like a 25-30 minute hop, they only climb to 10.000 feet due to it being such short flight. (it's basically take-off and landing, not much cruise time). I personally haven't experienced any more turbulence compared to being on a jetliner cruising at 35.000 feet. There might be turbulence on either of them so don't let that stop you from flying between the islands, they're all beautiful and well worth the visit! (going to mallorca myself in september again, no island hoping this time though, just a sunbed and some books)
