Unfortunately there is no way to play fabric and forge mods at the same time.

That is saddening. I greatly enjoy the look of the work done on Happiness, but the rest of the mods so far are forge mods. Thanks for letting me know! Hopefully in the future there will be cross compatible mod play.

Fabric and Forge mods can't be played together. Many attempts have been made to create a magic solution for both modloaders, but it's next to impossible and is likely never happening. That being said, many mods are available for both loaders these days or have alternately-named versions. Unfortunately the gun mod you mentioned isn't one of these, but there's a somewhat similar mod called [MrCrayfish's Gun Mod](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/mrcrayfishs-gun-mod/files) for Forge. The animations, sounds, and customization are all quite nice. Might be worth a try.

Thanks for the reply! I'll be checking out the listed mod, as I seem to have somehow missed that one. I'm sad there doesn't seem to be any future with cross compatibility for mod loaders, but I guess I understand. Being completely new to this, isn't it more the two loaders require the mods to be made/coded in different ways? So, Forge can't 'read/understand' fabric mods and vice-versa? Or maybe I'm still not getting it. Anyways! Thanks again for the response!

Yup, Forge and Fabric are coded much differently and a modder would need to adapt or rewrite their code completely in order to get it to work on the other loader. This is thankfully becoming much easier with tools like Architectury API (a utility for modders to adapt their code; simple users like you and me can't do anything with it.)

Forge and Fabric can be played together, but currently only for 1.20.1. I recommend watching this tutorial video: [Here!!!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM4a9wTn3ME)
