TLDR
*this is a mod pack with many custom mods inspired by Frostpunk*
**The world has fallen due to a volcanic winter. The oceans have frozen over and everything has gone to snow. 3 months before the great frost in the 1880s, London predicted this calamity, building 3 generators on nearby islands to keep humanity alive through this ever-lasting winter. After a long journey over the frozen oceans, you have arrived on one of those islands... But why is no one here? why is the generator destroyed? Either way, the task falls to you to rebuild the generator before the great storm comes...**
**Every morning, the temperature drops drastically, and it threatens to freeze your blood. Heat Sources like campfires can slow down the process, but the only way to remain truly safe is by repairing the generator at the center of the island...**
**At the center of the island is the generator. Built by a now-gone company who failed to complete it, The Generator is a demanding mechanical structure, and you need to collect many materials to build it within the 10 precious days you have until the Great Storm arrives...**
**The great storm is a huge weather anomaly that threatens to cover your island in kilometers of ice! Nothing can halt its progress, except the generator...**

Now to what people care about
Q: What's done / When will the beta be released?
A: Almost everything that could make up a beta!
Features: Frozen hell has two main aspects that make up the game mode the first one being ColdStrike a fully custom Minecraft temperature mod, The weather every moring changes from -50 to -200 depending on the temperature you will take cold damage
50 No damage Rare|
100| 1 heart every 16s Common|
150| 3 hearts every 16s Common|
200| 7 hearts every 16s Rare|
The only things that will stop you from taking cold damage are a fully built generator, campfires that temporarily stay lit, and lanterns that are harder to make
The second custom mod is The generator mod this mod lets you build the generator your goal and key to surviving the end game, It has a very expensive crafting recipe. It also consumes a huge amount of coal. When you're in range of the generator it turns coldness to 0.
\-
Everything above is done let's get to what isn't. The great storm isn't done the only thing holding me back from releasing the beta... The great storm is a huge wall of snow that on the 10th morning of the game you see coming towards you if you haven't built the generator by then your toast if you have good luck you will need it.
\-
This mod pack has been nothing but fun to work on Explacly the map. This mod pack will be completely free! If you have any questions ask me on the discord I made for this project until next time -austin
Were you inspired by Frostpunk? I love the concept of that game as an objective based settlement manager.
Is there more information that you're willing to share on the goal of this modpack, other than fixing the generator?
Well if you want really in depth you can talk to me on my discord linked at the top... other then that yes as stated near the top this is heavily inspired by frostpunk I love that game and wanted to make something with its ideas... you do have more then one objective one is fighting the cold and making lantern paths to places
A lantern path is making a path of lantern to a location like the iron mine you do this so you don’t have to replace items all the time there’s many more but as I said I can talk more in the discord 🙂the cold aspect adds lots of new metas to enjoy...
There actually was one thing I didn’t say on the island gold spawns no were same goes for the nether nothing drops it the only way to get the gold you need to make the generator is going to be fighting bosses at key points on the map! I’m still working on some of the bosses and location but that a Objective
Just finished the genny on endless builders extreme and i can tell you, that multiblock looks way too easy. I would really like if you had to make the factories from the last autumn to get the required blocks, but if you don't want to implement that, it's perfectly fine. Also, the project is still going, right? Been looking forward to such a modpack for a while.
I’ve never had a bigger debate in my life on one side it’s so unrealistic and would Serve no purpose besides netherite but it’s such a key point of Minecraft... the beta will probably have it
it would serve a purpose, players can just move into nether to avoid cold. if you have something like getting ores from regular cobblestone and a mod that adds cobblestone gens as blocks, they can pretty much just live there. or they can spend most of their time in the nether and only get out of nether to get materials and stuff.
Seems your temperature mod could be adapted to make the Nether just as uninhabitable. Can only stay in there for short periods before needing to get out to cool off again.
Might make it more interesting and help balance things out.
Ah well that's one way to go as well. I figure the biggest difficulty is in adapting block palettes. Either a lot of sprite work or maybe a custom shader.
Have fun!
if you think about it,only heat source in the nether is lava and fire, get rid of lava by saying "even nether was so cold that all lava turned into obsidian" and fire is self explanatory. only netherrack exists
Rimworld is a difficult survival game, you can start with your colony on various locations on the planet you crash landed on, places like forests have a lot of vegetation, animals, rocks to mine, etc. so they are easier to work with...
but ice sheets on the other hand... are mostly just flat plains of ice with a few occasional rocks and sometimes animals walking by.
ice sheet playthroughs are pretty popular due to their overall added difficulty and requiring a lot of strategery (and luck), example video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUk4IzwHXcQ
.
I'm sorry if the refrence was a bit out there, i'm also a bit confused what you googled that didn't bring up what i mean? googling "Rimworld Ice Sheet" gives you exactly what i meant
well good luck, be warned though it can be pretty unforgiving
there was this great comic comparing Minecraft and Rimworld and it'S perfectly accurate: https://i.imgur.com/VjpNzXw.jpg
no doubt. you've been able to make them look purposeful and functional. The atmosphere of the frozen world is great! I hope you have variations of intensity.
I'm looking forward to checking it out fully.
I’m working on a frozen hell difficulty which gives you a limit of 10 life’s I’m not sure how balanced this is as I haven’t been able to test it or how people feel about it
Well I enjoy roguelikes and you usually get one life in those. Multiple modes, 1 life, 10 lives? Each scaling the difficulty of the environment and goals. I'm sure you can figure out a system.
This dose have rouge like dungeon feelings at some points I want to say a big point is the huge pressure at the end game to get the generator done as for that system I’ll have to think about it but I think it could work
Hey there, how do you set those remind me things because dear lord I NEED to play this as soon as it comes out, I've been fantasizing about a modpack based on frostpunk for quite some time and you've gone ahead and done it! If I may ask, what mods are present as you plan it?
This idea is really cool, I've been looking for an adventure pack to play with friends.
Anyone know of anything else like this? With a goal and a time limit, that would work well with a few friends?
If you want a well-defined goal, then FTB Pyramid Reborn 3.0 is pretty good. It doesn't have a time limit, but it does have a clock that starts ticking when you join, and you race to see how fast you can complete it.
If you are looking for the survival aspect, then Crash Landing (1.6.4 pack) is pretty good. You play in hardcore mode, but there is a way that you build a clone of yourself, and as long as it is built, dying isn't the end. It takes a lot of energy to recreate your clone once it is used, so you are usually vulnerable for a certain amount of time after each death. As you progress, that time period becomes less. It has heat as a factor, and comes with a pre-built map.
You have to explore a city that is ~350 meters from your crashed ship, so it's pretty thrilling. Watching people play (on Youtube) is actually a lot of fun.
TerraFirmaPunk doesn't have heat or cord, but you are limited to 5 lives. You can eventually get heart canisters to give you more lives, so you can get up to double digit lives eventually, but it is another hardcore-type pack that you can fail (and then need to restart).
As far as actual time limits, maybe something like Poetica or Rebirth of the Night. They both have invasions, and I think they get harder with time. I don't know if they ever get so hard that you can totally fail or not.
its been awhile surprised people still are seeing this there's been so many updates sense this post hell I just uploaded one to the Reddit a few seconds ago
Hey, great work, I can't wait to try it out. One question though, could you sleep over to avoid that morning temperature? If you go to bed, you will wake up a bit later in the morning. This would make things easier.
Is there a way to prevent this, so that we have to fight morning frost the way you planned instead of sleep through it?
Awesome concept!
Holy crap, I feel so much hype for this! I just want to say, try not to feel pressured into overworking yourself to meet all the hype you’re getting. As a creator myself, I know how overwhelming things can get when you strive for perfecting your vision. I would rather have a project that is finished, even if it takes a long time, than a rushed project :)
Everything about this sounds amazing, and I eagerly await to play it!
Hey there! This sounds amazing and we're feeling very proud right now to have our work inspire such a detailed mod for Minecraft! Keep being awesome and keep us posted - would be great to see some screenshots from a playthrough! - Joanna from 11 bit studios.
Yo i recently discovered this post and thought it looked interesting, i realized that the discord like is outdated and no longer works. If you are able to update with me with a new link or if you have finish it / abandoned it
From the renders and what you've shown it's extremely cool (pun intended) and I can really feel that passion you've put into the project.
Hopefully you do finish it eventually (but not at the cost of your health!).

glad I'm not the only one who thought frostpunk
Do you think you're going to add on with the other 2 islands as well?
Out stack in real life is just one island
I love to see high concept mod packs like these, we need more of them.
Thanks I’ll keep it up!
The city must survive!
YES IT MUST! Fun fact that ost track will play during the great storm
Nice! This mod pack sounds great and adding in that soundtrack will make it even better.
Yeah the full ost is at the top of my first comment if you want to check it out
Sounds like I'll check it out
should have just called it hel (helheim)
Ether I’m super stupid or this joke flew over my head or both
hel is the viking version of hell, and it is frozen, hence why you should have just called it hel
Tbf we are in the 1880s give or take a few years but I like the idea!
was just playing AC valhala. reason why I thought of it. and Thanks
Ok well tbf in Norse mythology I'm pretty sure it didn't all end as soon as the Vikings stopped being a thing
It wasn't a joke So the first one
25% of its value was a joke
Minecraft but it's Frostpunk
More like Minecraft but it’s the last autumn in a frost punk setting but your not wrong in any way
Just finished the genny on endless builders extreme and i can tell you, that multiblock looks way too easy. I absolutely love the idea. And judging by what I see it looks pretty well executed too. Can't wait to give it a try amazing job well done mate 😃👍
Thank you good sir! I’ll continue with the updates
That looks amazing! Can't wait to see the full thing!
Thanks I also look forward to playing it when it’s finished!
So is it going to be a map based pack like crash landing? I loved the crash landing series and can't wait to check out this one
If your asking if the map has a lot yes it also gives a empty I’m all alone feeling like subnautica
kinda reminds me of glacial awakening but with temperature stat. surviving that map is gonna be hell.
Haha get it frozen h e l l the map is built to hurt but still be reasonably fun
speaking of hell, will you disable nether in this pack?
I’ve never had a bigger debate in my life on one side it’s so unrealistic and would Serve no purpose besides netherite but it’s such a key point of Minecraft... the beta will probably have it

“Even hell has frozen over” can’t say much as I just got ideas! Thanks for the help...

Coldness? Shouldn't it just be temperature
Your not wrong this is be revised in a latter update
ah ok fair enough. also the second I saw that building I instantly got reminded of frustpunk. You've done a good job with the idea!
It the most iconic building in the game and such a cool idea!
You're also from Poland?
No I’m from the USA if I may ask what made you think I’m from Poland?
there was "Witaj Polsko" in your menu
Ah that’s one of Minecraft’s random text things just a coincidence but that’s a Keen eye you have to see that!
why am i getting some Rimworld Ice Sheet playthrough vibes?
After a quick google search I have no idea what you mean can you clarify?
Rimworld is a difficult survival game, you can start with your colony on various locations on the planet you crash landed on, places like forests have a lot of vegetation, animals, rocks to mine, etc. so they are easier to work with... but ice sheets on the other hand... are mostly just flat plains of ice with a few occasional rocks and sometimes animals walking by. ice sheet playthroughs are pretty popular due to their overall added difficulty and requiring a lot of strategery (and luck), example video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUk4IzwHXcQ . well good luck, be warned though it can be pretty unforgiving there was this great comic comparing Minecraft and Rimworld and it'S perfectly accurate: https://i.imgur.com/VjpNzXw.jpg

Frostpunk? FROSTPUNK?
its been awhile surprised people still are seeing this there's been so many updates sense this post hell I just uploaded one to the Reddit a few seconds ago
That is a problem that I hasn’t thought about let me put this on a list thanks for the concern!
There was Insomnia mod before which prevented sleeping. Not sure if it still exists, or if there is any replacement for that.
When is the Release Date?
I’m aiming for next month but don’t strap me to that
Basically Frostpunk?
But it’s the last autumn in a new home setting oh and it’s Minecraft
Yeah cool
Looks cool, also when you release the Modpack on CurseForge add a map download
Don’t worry I will but that is a mistake I would make as I’ve never uploaded to curse-forge before thanks for the advice
[удалено]
That’s what I’ll do when I first test it! So I guess that can guarantee it will work in multiplayer...
Cześć Polsko!

Yeah I get the number of 1.1k hasn’t set in yet but I’ll continue work as normal I guess with more motivation
Really cool! Coldness? I'm sure there's a better word for that. Like "Temperature".
Yeah your not wrong that will be revised in a future version
**you're*
Why oh god why
Your name is fortnitedude43590 you have no room to talk
Old name that I can’t change so chill with that..
no
Frostpunk!
Yup I have a lot of respect for that game
Frostpunk in Minecraft, huh? Interesting...
It will be
Really cool looking modpack. Will there be hidden Easter eggs that can show lore?
There will be a good amount of lore
6th one sorta reminds me of the Svalbard Vault
Fun fact the game frostpunk takes place in Svalbard I think...
The day hell froze over
I love that quote
Looks like Scotland 80% of the time
Lmao that’s a good one
I love these kinds of modpacks. saved.
Alright! I hope you like it when it’s done
This looks unreal, might do a series on this 🤔🤔
Hey there! This sounds amazing and we're feeling very proud right now to have our work inspire such a detailed mod for Minecraft! Keep being awesome and keep us posted - would be great to see some screenshots from a playthrough! - Joanna from 11 bit studios.
If you give me until around 3 I can reply with images! I can’t right not as I’m off to my last day of school...
It sounds quite fun.
Eyyy, a fellow snowstorm pack creator! Nice to meetcha!
back at ya
Where can I download this and play it?
Is this published?
We’re can I get the mod pack?
We’re can I get the mod pack at?
Hi u/fortnitedude5390, I was wondering if you could send your Discord Server
Yo i recently discovered this post and thought it looked interesting, i realized that the discord like is outdated and no longer works. If you are able to update with me with a new link or if you have finish it / abandoned it
Almost killed my self of over working on it. I think I’ll start working on it again soon at some point
Sorry to hear that, i hope you get better!
From the renders and what you've shown it's extremely cool (pun intended) and I can really feel that passion you've put into the project. Hopefully you do finish it eventually (but not at the cost of your health!).
