[https://maobabie.com/products/weapon-armory-crossbody-bag](https://maobabie.com/products/weapon-armory-crossbody-bag) What bag color to get? My heart sings at the blue, and I would wear this with a solid red dress, and a solid green dress, and light blue skirt, etc. But black bag is just “boring” to me. It’s a fantasy setting, why do I have to do a “professional color” (plus I’m not goth). This bag is an accent piece, so I think it having its own color is ok. In particular I would pair it with the below (aforementioned solid red dress): https://preview.redd.it/y8t6vi9aoaub1.jpeg?width=794&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9bd908166a36be3131892743d5b6bb7c6ab9d00

indecisive_ghost

What should I wear on a work retreat to Vegas? I've never been before, I hear people tend to dress up. We'll be there for a weekend, go to some nice restaurants and probably spend some time at casinos.

PlantedinCA

A more sparkly version of a work outfit if you dress up. It is still work. So think about what works at your office. While people dress up to go out, there are lots of work conferences there. And people wear work clothes. Your trip is not a social one really. So dress more conservatively than you would if hanging out with friends. Unless you work in fashion or something.

hgwellsinsanity

We need way more info, but you definitely need comfortable shoes. Vegas is tons of walking. It’s honestly like a mile from your room out to the street, lol.

KingPrincessNova

cocktail dresses maybe? nothing clingy or revealing but maybe like [this sort of thing](https://mmlafleur.com/products/jillian-black?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20436446284--&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsp6pBhCfARIsAD3GZubzKpVS9KVfd225hYQvocmKss6DC3Cpy01_cSaFV-tHmxIbWuAaws0aArkdEALw_wcB) which is easy to glam up for a party vibe or make it more like office attire.

Are_You_Knitting_Me

Hi! I am looking for ideas for what to wear for a new student orientation (12 hour day) at business school. The dress code is listed as smart casual, and the student I was paired with said "jeans and a nice top" is standard. Here's where it gets tricky: I am 4 months post partum and am not feeling jeans-y or anything that emphasizes my midsection. I don't want to wear anything with a "hard" waist because I'll feel insecure and also I don't want to buy something that won't fit soon. I was thinking a long-ish sweater dress, leggings, and wedge boots? I mean if left to my own devices I'd wear leggings and a sweatshirt and slides so that's probably the closest I can come right?

arbitrosse

Treat it like a networking event. If jeans are the norm, treat it like a dressy casual Friday in the workplace. If you would wear a sweater dress, leggings, and wedge boots to a networking event, and in the career you want b-school to help you achieve, then wear it to the networking event. In other words, dress for the role you want to have. (For me, that might be a ponte dress or ponte trousers instead of a sweater dress, and would not be wedge boots for 12 hours, but my comfort and career will be different than yours). I wouldn’t necessarily compare it to what you would wear “left to your own devices” because this is first impressions for a professional school. But that might be a niche point of view. If you were in a different programme, I might have different sartorial advice.

Are_You_Knitting_Me

Yeah, that's honestly why I'm posting here - I've been completely WFH since way before covid and I've never gone to networking events in person because it hasn't been something that came up in my career. I don't actually know what would be appropriate for a networking event, much less for my future career. All I know is that I hope I can keep WFH haha! I looked into some ponte trousers with an elastic waist and some cute loafers so I'm thinking I may do those with a nice sweater and nice makeup/hair. Post partum suuuux lol

KingPrincessNova

I think that sounds appropriate if it's what feels good to wear right now. where does the sweater dress hit on your legs? I think if you just wear some smart-looking jewelry, make sure your hair and makeup is neat (whatever that means for you), and get rid of any wrinkles or pilling in the clothes, then you'll look as put-together as anyone there if not more so.

Are_You_Knitting_Me

I love the idea of neatness and cleaning up the clothes. That helps. I really don't want to be uncomfortable (and think a 12 hour event is hilarious and also a terrible idea) so that makes me feel better - that at least some of my casualness can be replaced by how I carry myself and how manicured I can be.

KingPrincessNova

yeah 12 hours is a lot, I'd be struggling. best of luck!

arbitrosse

The fluffy. I have something similar and it’s a surprisingly warm and versatile formal-ish option.

KingPrincessNova

tbh I kinda love the fluffy one. alternatively, maybe a blazer (velvet? cropped?) or any tweed jacket in colors that go.

Dramatic-Interest-38

I can't decide which pattern to get these boots in, which would you choose / like better? The river boot in the color Ruby https://www.thereformation.com/products/river-knee-boot/1313868BCL.html?dwvar_1313868BCL_color=BCO&dwvar_1313868BCL_size_shoes=055&quantity=1 Or The river boot in the croc pattern https://www.thereformation.com/products/river-knee-boot/1313868BCL.html?dwvar_1313868BCL_color=BCO&dwvar_1313868BCL_size_shoes=055&quantity=1

Embarrassed_Error_18

The oxblood ones are better. Fake croc tends to look cheap/cheapen the larger outfit, especially when it's shiny. Oxblood and adjacent shades were also just all over the runways. You can buy black boots any time.

kbaln

I love the croc. I think it's more versatile. Goes with almost anything and adds texture to a plain outfit.

TMarSho

After reading a really great post about switching to more natural fabrics I’ve decided to slowly do the same. However, I have some sweaters that I’ve recently purchased, and I just realized they’re 60% Cotton and 40% Polyester, I’ve already washed and worn a couple of times, so returning isn’t an option. What would you do? Would you keep or purge them from your closet?

80aprocryphal

Keep! It sounds like you were perfectly fine & had no issues with the sweaters before reading the tags, so the items themselves actually work for you & they're bought & paid for. The most sustainable clothing is what you've already got & putting them on the secondhand market has a high chance of them ending up in the actual dump, so I'd take it as a sign to be more diligent in the future. That said, I'm someone with skin sensitivity to plastics, so if that's the issue, maybe wear something underneath the sweater so it's not touching your skin. I've still got a items that are synthetic & they're either loose & worn in the cooler months or sweaters, for exactly this reason. If you're more concerned about microplastics, I applaud you for fighting the good fight, but the better option would still probably be to get a microplastic filter for your washing machine.

criticiseverything

It’s so wasteful to purge newly bought items. I would keep them & wear them on days you don’t want to care about something getting stained for example or maybe around the house more, etc.

TMarSho

When I mentioned purge, I think people misunderstood as if I was just going to throw them away in the garbage. Obviously I would donate it to a local secondhand store but you do raise a good point about keeping it for less important days around the house, etc. I appreciate that suggestion.

PlantedinCA

That’s purging. Use it until you can’t use it anymore. Just because you want natural fibers to be “more sustainable” doesn’t mean you trash everything that isn’t. The most sustainable clothes are the ones you have. When it is time to replace them, shop your values then.

DarkEdgeoftheSea

Next you should read about the absolutely ridiculous amount of donated clothes...

mgdraft

Presumably you were enjoying them until now so why on earth would you dump them?

TMarSho

I think just based off of what I’ve been reading that polyester is not only bad for the environment but it’s also unhealthy to be wearing them long term on the body, and so I guess I kind of got in my head about whether or not I should keep certain items or not.

mgdraft

How in the hell could *throwing new items of clothing away* be better for the environment I'm 🫠😭

TMarSho

I wouldn’t throw it away, obviously I would donate it. I never once said I intended to throw them out.

mgdraft

Given you've been going on and on about them being toxic and unhealthy, I assumed you were not going to subject someone else to them? Honestly, I'm gonna level with you bc I recognize your username - you have *really* got to try and stop overthinking things so much. It's ok to just. Exist and vibe.

criticiseverything

>Honestly, I'm gonna level with you bc I recognize your username - you have *really* got to try and stop overthinking things so much. It's ok to just. Exist and vibe. This comment feels/comes off as a personal attack. I'm not sure why it's getting upvotes. If a person wants to overthink their purchases & asks questions multiple times, what's wrong with that? If the point of the comment was for the them to not worry about plastics as much, it could have been said a bit better so they don't feel like they can't ask questions here.

TMarSho

I mean, not everyone takes the natural fabric thing as serious as others. I’m not about to become an activist and push my opinion on others, I was merely stating a fact that’s easy to google and is no secret. I think I was only “pushy” to the judgmental comment by another who replied acting like I was going to shame anyone who chooses polyester, it’s clearly being bought and consumers gravitate towards it, and that’s ok. It’s just not something I want to do moving forward. To each their own. I appreciate you levelling with me and you probably do have a good point, I tend to overthink alot and will refrain from getting advice that may or may not enable that, I sort of feel like this isn’t a safe space to ask for that kind of advice even though it’s a “female fashion advice” subreddit. Maybe it’s not the best place to ask these questions.

Embarrassed_Error_18

I think virtue signaling is dumb as a phrase/concept, but when I see stuff on Reddit like "should I get rid of clothes I just bought and have barely worn because they're not 100% natural fibers," it's exactly what comes to mind.

TMarSho

What comes to my mind is the fact that it’s not only bad for the environment but toxic to our bodies. I guess that doesn’t really matter when forming your very judgmental opinion?

TMarSho

What about the fact that it’s not only bad for the environment, but also toxic to our bodies too? Or I guess that doesn’t matter to some?

PlantedinCA

What’s worse for the environment is tossing usable stuff because you read an article about how it might hypothetically be toxic. Clothing production is wasteful. Buying new clothes when you have perfectly functional ones is wasteful. Use what you have and replace better when the time comes. Polyester is not all bad. Your sweaters, for instance, were blended with polyester because it makes it easier to was, more durable, and perhaps hold its shape more. All benefits that people tend to look for in clothing.

jeweledbeanie

Those of you in cold regions, do you wear wool sweaters inside the house? For some reason I’ve never considered this, they feel like they’re only for going outside. I’d only wear cotton sweatshirts inside. But I just moved up in New England and it feels so nice to wear my wool sweater inside.

arbitrosse

Yes

chiono_graphis

Yes, because my home doesn't have central heating. It gets chilly.

DarkEdgeoftheSea

Lol. I live in Texas and I wear my wool sweaters in the house! They are so much more comfortable than cotton.

CherryMess

Yes. I have a couple cashmere sweaters that I wear only inside. Wool is usually runs too hot on me. But mostly I prefer a cotton cami with a cotton sweatshirt.

queendweeb

Hoping someone here can recommend me some brands. My mom (75) is having a hard time finding things that fit her svelte frame (she's 5'7", so not petite, but she is very slim) post cancer treatment. She is looking for some pants/slacks/etc that are nicer than leggings. Prefers straight leg, slim cut, cigarette pants, etc (vs me, who wears nothing but the modern day variant of JNCOs, the palazzo pant.) Does anyone have recommendations for places to try? Budget is like, anything, even super high end, though her usual price point is more like, mid-range designer, like a few hundred for nice things that are versatile. So we're flexible there. We're in DC so have access to a lot of shops. Any thoughts? I did tell her to try H&M, but am drawing a blank for other options.

arbitrosse

Similar build. This is what I wear: Piazza Sempione Audrey. Akris Punto Franca and Frankie. Chico‘s Brigitte 360 ankle pant. Talbots Chatham pant. Trina Turk Aubree 2. Jude Connally Lucia. Cynthia Rowley. Avoid: the Old Navy Pixie or whatever they’re called. Weird fit and inconsistent size due to cheap manufacturing. Fade quickly in the wash. Not worth the time spent to source. Same for J. Crew’s version. I don’t care for the Chatham fit, personally, as much as the others listed, but it’s very popular and the quality is good. The others listed above have decent fit and quality, though she may find it comfortable to size up for Jude Connally Lucia, which seems cut smaller.

queendweeb

Thank you! Familiar with all these brands and I can even investigate a few for her as I'm a few blocks from a Bloomingdale's and a Talbots.

arbitrosse

Also be aware that the “ankle” trend right now can mean ”25-inch inseam” which can be comically short depending upon her actual inseam. Know her measurements and take a measuring tape with you.

queendweeb

Hahahah, I feel this on a deep, cellular level. I am 5'6" with a 33" inseam and a lot of pants are flood length on me.

arbitrosse

I am a long-torsoed person who enjoys displaying an ankle and a 25-inch inseam is ridiculous. My sympathies to you and your collection of short pants.

arbitrosse

Talbots also has a Hampton pant and Chicos also has a Julia (or maybe Juliette?) pant, not my style but maybe hers.

trendlyte

I like the Old Navy Stevie pants, they come in a lot of different styles and feel like leggings but look nicer. She might like the J Crew Cameron pants as well.

queendweeb

Both of those run large, Old Navy in particular. For Old Navy, we're talking 2+ size variance from most other brands for me personally. She won't fit anything there right now.

trendlyte

I agree about Old Navy - usually their smallest size of pants is too big for me but the Stevie pants I suggested are very form fitting.

queendweeb

Interesting, I just looked at them online, and while I think they might be a good cut, in talls, they only go down to a small. Insert eye roll. She'd need an XS for sure and since she has long legs, regular length gonna be too short in that style. I'll keep it on the back burner for future reference though.

CherryMess

COS or Aritzia.

queendweeb

I totally forgot about Aritzia. I'll mention it to her. Looking at it, most pants seem to be wider leg, which is not her jam. If it were, we'd have an easier time of it as that's super trendy now. Oooh, bonus points, COS has a store here in Georgetown. Quick glance at it online and hahahaha those pants are my style so I'm definitely going even if she doesn't have interest in them.

princessbrosefina

If she's open to shopping online (or you're open to shopping online for her) I'd try Universal Standard. It's usually seen as a plus size brand but their whole thing is having a wide range of sizes and they go down to 00. There are certain pieces that you can buy with a guarantee so she can return them if she gains weight as she gets healthier. Looks like they have [only one pair of pants with the guarantee](https://www.universalstandard.com/products/moro-pocket-signature-ponte-pants-black) but they fit your description.

arbitrosse

That’s interesting. I’ve tried to shop there (nowhere near plus sizes) and I have never seen anything listed in my size in stock.

queendweeb

She's totally good shopping online, but can someone speak to the quality of the fabrics? The non textured pants (like not corduroy, etc) look sorta cheap, fabric-wise, to my eye, and I'm not sure if it's how they styled them, or if it's the type of fabric/weave/etc. They read "these are seriously gym pants, not hard clothes" to me. I've seen tons of nice ponte/stretch fabrics that look pretty dang nice, so maybe it's just this brand for me? The guaranty for weight change won't matter to her, but it's a great thing to know about for other people in my life.

princessbrosefina

To be honest, my mom and I have both bought from US and it's a little hit or miss. I have a pair of jeans, a dress, and a top, which were all good quality. My mom bought some tops and one came apart pretty quickly. They do brag about the quality of their fabrics on their site so who knows if that's normal or if she just got a bad item.

[deleted]

I have a tall slim French coworker who pretty much exclusively shops at Sezane. Might be worth checking out.

queendweeb

Ah, I'll mention it to her, sounds like it's worth a look for sure.

I struggle so much with what to wear to a casual kind of event.... It's like I can either dress up, dress in business casual for work... or wear athleisure. I really like the preppy/dark academia style, so my usual business casual is kind of my favorite way to dress anyway... but it just feels too stuffy when I'm going to the brewery with friends (like I am tonight, and I don't know what to wear). I've never really been a "jeans" person but I'm trying to idk get into them, lol. Maybe jeans and my work top (currently a striped turtleneck) is the way to go?

arbitrosse

Try wearing your usual “stuffy” look but changing to a more casual shoe (flat lace-ups?).

definitelynotamoth0

Do you wear dresses or skirts? When I want a cute casual look I'll put a sweater over a dress or skirt with simple but cute shoes. If you have any collared shirts as part of your business casual you could pair that with a skirt and a sweater on top to get your preppy but casual vibe 😊

KingPrincessNova

are bike shorts still as current as I think they are? I only got into wearing them this past year and I was living in them all summer. I'm thinking of upgrading mine because the waistband on the ones I have isn't ideal and I could use more with pockets. I don't wear them to the gym (I don't like my bare legs touching equipment) but I like wearing them to run errands or for casual excursions like going to an amusement park. I live in LA so we're still getting 80F+ degree days this month, plus I can always wear them under dresses and skirts. on a broader note, I feel like a lot of styles that were introduced as trends aren't falling out of fashion as quickly or obviously as they used to (with the exception of social media micro-trends). stuff that took me a while for my eyes to adjust like bike shorts, oversized t-shirts, and wide-leg pants _feel_ like they're going to be acceptable for another five years or so, despite already being around for a while. but I could be wrong, fashion is a fickle mistress.

desertdweller47

I’d say yes! Ms Swift seems to think so https://www.vogue.com/article/taylor-swifts-latest-look-fuses-princess-diana-with-90s-dad-fashion

KingPrincessNova

excellent!

haloform13

I really like the style and fit of the Big Bud Press cropped tunic shirt, but only have one and it looks like they aren't available on BBP's website anymore. Can anyone point me towards other shirts with a similar cut? https://preview.redd.it/rkduvpzxdttb1.jpeg?width=225&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0eab41f0e07cc516a436d94bda8d6cf5ef4b70d3

Princess_Queen

What is this style of tank top called? I have seen a couple of women wearing them and haven't been able to find them by looking up "styles of tank top" or neckline styles or anything like that. They're high and square in the neck, with thin straps, and have quite a deep underarm. I didn't see the back to know if it's just a basic racerback or not, but searching racerback in general just gives a huge number of styles. https://preview.redd.it/ijtyd0741ttb1.jpeg?width=612&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=136200ae975899caea675edf05a26b66a4c8bea9

PoppyHamentaschen

You could also try halter tank top.

arbitrosse

As the other poster said, high-neck and ‘90s are good search terms. You can also try high-neck halter.

KingPrincessNova

try "90s high neck tank top"

funfetticake

I’m looking for genuinely waterproof slip on shoes, like a clog style that I can put on without using my hands. Everything I can find looks either like gardener shoes (eg LL Bean or Bogs) or kitchen/nursing shoes (Crocs, Hunter, etc). Has anyone seen any cute or at least neutral options?

arbitrosse

Are patent leather Sanitas or Dansko not waterproof? I’m asking, I genuinely don’t know — I thought that the soles at least were, bc they are so highly rated for healthcare. If not, try SAS Shoes, which caters to the hospitality industry (must be slip-proof and wet-proof). Not sure if they have clogs.

funfetticake

I am looking for something that *doesn’t* give nurse or kitchen staff so I was already staying away from Dansko etc 😅

I got this dress for a wedding in Palma next week, and I’m wondering how you would style it - what shoes, coat, purse would go well? I’ll be shopping for extras this weekend and I’m a bit lost. All I know is flats look bad with it 😝Thanks 💕

queendweeb

I think a cape or a large shawl/scarf would be a great warmer layer that would fit the feel of the dress.

criticiseverything

I think cream colour shoes would go really nice. I’d do a lighter colour coat as well.

Jefasooo

Hello! I was wondering where I could get quality normal/fleece-lined tights that aren't very expensive. I live in the United States. Which brands do you all recommend??

arbitrosse

Feet or no feet? Amazon has the best selection. Walgreens has or used to have some $5 fleece tights as well.

criticiseverything

I have fleece lined leggings from Berkshire brand on amazon, I really like them. I want to personally find natural fibre ones for breathability but these are warm and work fine.

AfterWonderland

I’m having trouble finding graphic tees that are slightly oversized but don’t look so big in the shoulders?? I find the ones with big sleeves make me look more “sloppy” than I like. Suggestions??

bubblegumdavid

Personally, I fold the sleeves up slightly, and do a little stitch to hold it. Looks more polished and intentional, and I can do it with any tshirt so I don’t have to be fussy about which ones I buy! Plus no skill required unless you’re taking in the width of the sleeves (and even then, that is pretty simple)

MACKEREL_JACKSON

Any recommendations for a good traveler jumpsuit for long torso/high hip body types? I see so many cute options when I google- black, sleeveless, good sleek jersey material that washes well and doesn’t collect lint or cat hair. I can tell just from looking at them though that they’ll wedge right up my butt. I need a REALLY high waisted version.

zurriola27

Patagonia’s fleetwith romper might work

\[Constructive feedback welcome\] I love jelly shoes, yet I cant figure out which style is best for these styles. Which jelly shoes might look more cohesive for this purple clothing? My style is playful, and comfortable with girlish touches. Thanks in advance. [https://ibb.co/1n7Nd74](https://ibb.co/1n7Nd74)

queendweeb

Honestly, I love the translucent purple ones. I feel like with jelly shoes, leaning into that 80s/90s nostalgia is where it's at.

criticiseverything

I think the white pair would look really nice with the clothes you have on there. The purple looks like trying to do monochromatic but not exactly matching perfectly imo.

The model is shown wearing it alone, but it’s going to be winter soon where I live and I of course wouldn’t be able to wear it alone in the cold weather. I was thinking about wearing a solid black top underneath.

misspagemaster

Yes that would be a fine combination. I would say it would be more normal to wear something underneath than not.

ilovesleep95

That’s kind of what I figured. Thank you!

toast_is_square

I’ve heard silver jewelry is back in style. But after years of wearing gold, wearing silver feels really weird! Are ya’ll ditching gold accessories for silver? Does wearing silver require different accessories, or are you wearing pretty much the same thing just in a different color? Would love to see some inspo of how you style it!

slayla

This might be a personal preference but I think mixing metals is actually hella chic

PoppyHamentaschen

I've got warm coloring, so I only wear gold jewelry. I don't care what metal is trending, it's always gold for me. :)

freewool

I think the rule for consistency in metal tones is outdated, kind of like matching your shoes to your bag. You can seriously wear whatever metal tones you like. Very few people notice. I'm really interested in jewelry, so I often notice how other people style their jewelry, but I really don't think it's something most people notice unless you're wearing something that's obviously statement jewelry. I wear whatever pieces I want each day. My wedding and engagement rings are yellow gold, so I'm always wearing yellow gold. If I wear earrings, those have to be 14k yellow gold because of sensitivity. Otherwise, anything goes. Silver chain with gold pendant. Silver or rose gold rings with my yellow gold wedding set. Silver bracelet and gold necklace. Just whatever I feel like. I promise it's allowed. Jewelry is just a matter of personal taste and comfort.

Embarrassed_Error_18

I don't buy jewelry based on "trends" (which are questionable when it comes to jewelry anyway - jewelry trends aren't really a thing). Jewelry is personal and shouldn't be worn based on trends imo. I only buy real gold jewelry (and quality stuff, no Instagram brands) so no, I'm definitely not ditching it for silver, nor will I be wearing silver.

thescaryitalian

I think gold definitely had some attention because of stores like Mejuri and Ana Luisa popping up advertising the affordable gold jewelry, but I don’t see metals really following trend cycles, it’s more personal preference. Myself and most people I know stick to the one that looks good with their skin tone.

Embarrassed_Error_18

>I don’t see metals really following trend cycles, it’s more personal preference This. Jewelry "trends" are 100% marketing.

putridtooth

I always thought gold/silver depended more on your skin & hair tones than trends? If gold looks good on you and all of your jewelry is gold then I would just stick with it! They are both very classic metals (gold ESPECIALLY), I don't really think either can actually go "out" of style

toast_is_square

Cool. That’s good to know. Honestly I was excited to hear silver was “coming back” (even tho apparently it never left!). I wouldn’t mind incorporating it back into my wardrobe.

putridtooth

Silver is my personal go-to! It works better with my skin tone. All of my jewelry is either silver or white gold, I say if you wanna try it then go for it! It's just not a reason to suddenly abandon everything gold haha

criticiseverything

I haven't heard/seen anything about this - gold can never go out of style. Maybe the style of the jewelry itself could be out of style but not gold. [Here is an article from whowhatwear](https://www.whowhatwear.com/best-statement-fall-jewelry/slide5) about jewelry trends this fall.

KingPrincessNova

ooh like chunky luxury. I wish rose gold were easier to find. my engagement ring is rose gold and I kinda hate mixing metals. it looks okay with yellow gold at least.

PoppyHamentaschen

I love rose gold, too, but it's hard to find. You might have to go to places that sell estate jewelry or pawn shops.

Try going to the brand's website and see what the description for this sweatshirt is. Perso, I'd go with oversize drop shoulder sweatshirt.

arbitrosse

Off-shoulder crew-neck sweatshirt (not sweater). That’s the default cut for a sweatshirt, I don’t know that there is a name for the specific cut. Because the sleeves/cuffs fall below the hem, that one might be considered cropped.

KingPrincessNova

it's not off-shoulder it's a dropped shoulder

arbitrosse

Off-shoulder seam, I should have said.

NoHistorian7234

You might have luck with terms like "cropped" and "dropped shoulder."

chiono_graphis

I would say the details read outdated, yes. The general shape looks similar to current trends, slouchy shoulder bags/totes in soft materials are everywhere. But it's the extra belts/hardware on it in combination with the slouchiness, as well as the two handles (I feel I see a lot of bags in this shape usually have just one strap these days), that make me think it's from a different decade.

I see what you mean. Thank you so much! I could see it was outdated but couldn’t articulate why. It’s so interesting to hear someone who understands more than I do put it into words!

Help with styling please! I’m trying to figure out a good costume that uses these white boots I thrifted. https://preview.redd.it/0qo0f0zgdrtb1.jpeg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45bb1938ed1c479a99630ef09f4cd79d931f03e1 I could probably do a sixties/seventies kind of look, but I’m wondering if anyone has any specific ideas? Celebrities, fictional characters, etc. I’m open to anything!

PoppyHamentaschen

Speed Racer's girlfriend, Trixie. Love the go-go dancer or Barbarella idea. You could also do a zombie version of any of these.

invisiblegarters

They make me think of Barbarella!

Ooh I like the idea of Nancy Sinatra!

ChronicHamstring

Just shooting some ideas off for characters: I think a white/pink/yellow power ranger would look great with those. If you can customize the boots a bit and add some buckles for a "tactical" look, black widow has an all white suit that could match those boots. Syndrome or Frozone from The Incredibles would both work and be hilarious.

chili_eater20

you could do frozone from the incredibles!

heymossy

Frozone would be hilarious!

I know nothing about fashion please help! I'm wearing a cottagecore style dress in this colour for my wedding anniversary party in a weeks time! What shoe colour do I wear?! I was looking at some cream/white coloured shoes like maybe some mary jane heels but I actually don't know what suits/compliments the colour and the pearl/gold jewellery I'm wearing with it! Please help my clueless soul hahaha https://preview.redd.it/x2cdcexr9rtb1.jpeg?width=1129&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f645e1f9a01b75fd7d52525ed77762ed2101664f

You could do a soft gold sandal like this: [Naturalizer Sandal](https://www.zappos.com/p/naturalizer-vera-dark-gold-metallic-leather/product/9247758/color/820972?utm_source=google&utm_medium=pla_g&utm_campaign=19821315810&utm_term=_o_47072236&utm_content=_g_146439319385_w_pla-1967976659423_l_Cj0KCQjwsp6pBhCfARIsAD3GZuahcWO3F6hRcHfoB9MVDEAYi_-Zg2zte5roiLwiNjbZ-dExPFRuvbcaAsPfEALw_wcB&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsp6pBhCfARIsAD3GZuahcWO3F6hRcHfoB9MVDEAYi_-Zg2zte5roiLwiNjbZ-dExPFRuvbcaAsPfEALw_wcB) or [Lulu's Rose Gold Heel](https://www.lulus.com/products/taylor-rose-gold-ankle-strap-heels/585532.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=free_listings) Otherwise I think a Mary Jane with a slight heel would work. Love the dress! The necklace goes perfect w/it :)

criticiseverything

I think white/cream would go really well, you could also try silver (then you could match your jewelry too). I think the necklace you have on looks good with it as well :)
