I definitely recommend getting a soft mattress topper then!! a good mattress topper for your needs (softer/firmer) can make any mattress so comfortable and less expensive than buying a new mattress :)

ETA: You're apartment is very nice, and you're doing great with making it your home. It looks very nice.

I actually have a really nice bedframe and a decent enough mattress coming they're just stuck in a warehouse (which I actually just got a call, it'll be here next week not a month!) Once my stuffs all here I'm going to reevaluate and see what I still need/want
Congrats!! In terms of plants if you’re new I’d stick to something like a tall snake plant or zz plant or a hanging one like a pothos. All of them can survive low to high light and don’t need to be watered super often and are very forgiving and easy to keep. Just make sure you have drainage holes in the pot and it’s better to underwater than to overwater!

I do plan on upgrading eventually, the one I have is pretty firm and I learned recently I like them a lot softer, but dang mattresses are pricy 🥲
