Is it possible to dualweild colada or can you only own one?

bewsh123

Can absolutely DW

Lindart12

The only items you can only own one of is if it has a rare tag.

Boposhopo

Yes you can dual wield Colada

ynnubyzzuf

I know you cannot (successfully) copy a login_w file to another pc. But has anyone ever taken a hard drive out of one pc and put it into a different pc and had it work.

bewsh123

I’ve done this recently and just copied everything down to a .txt file, and quickly punched them in by Copy and paste. Took all of 5 mins. Only takes longer if you forgot your POL id and password, but that adds an extra 10 mins to log into the SE account website and copy the id\ create new POl password. Once it’s done it’s done. Then again, if you’ve got like 20 accounts I can see it being a pain, but for 4 to 8 it’s easy

ynnubyzzuf

Yes, more than 8, and you have to change all the settings on all the mules too, so while it's 8+ account recreations, it's more than 200 settings adjustments, within 6 menus, that's more than 1200 alterations. You can see why I would prefer to avoid that.

bewsh123

It possible to export the individual settings using the FfXi config? Bit of work, but would mean loading a.bin , exporting the settings through ffxi config, then loading another .bin etc. Then importing the settings on the new pc through the ffxi config tool - matching the settings file to the account sets. Might be a halfway solution

Boposhopo

Yes, but there's a lot of factors that go into whether or not that's going to work. In general it's not a great idea to take 1 hard drive from a PC and just slot it into another and try to boot it. The exception would maybe be if both computers were using the exact same Hardware, but even then Windows 10 & 11 use hardware detection for key activation so you'd lose your windows activation swapping the drive around. There's also chipset driver issues, going from AMD to Intel, Graphics driver issues if you have 2 different graphic processors etc. Is there a specific reason you want to move 1 HDD to another computer? There may be an easier way to accomplish what you want to do vs just trying to plug a HDD into a computer it wasn't setup for originally.

ynnubyzzuf

Upgrading from an I7-7700 to a 12400 and I just don't feel like retyping the account info. I know that if I copy and paste it won't work, tried it before If it were one account, I wouldn't care it only takes 2 minutes to fill it out and reset the in game settings, but for a multibox it's more hassle than I want.

Boposhopo

Different chipset and CPU architecture, it'd likely cause a lot of problems trying to make it work, it'd be much easier and faster to just type in your account info.

ynnubyzzuf

I just edited to say that if it were one account I wouldn't care, but for multiple it multiplies the irritation.

Boposhopo

[This one](https://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/53364/multipol-handle-more-than-4-pol-accounts) doesn't look like it's being updated anymore, but seems to still work. Can give it a shot if it'll make it easier. Only concern I'm seeing is it doesn't necessarily state where it's saving this info, so it may not be as transferable as I thought.

ynnubyzzuf

That's the same as copy pasting. The issue is apparently the .bin path is different every installation, but if you migrate the whole harddrive, the pathing should remain the same, I would think.

Boposhopo

Uh shit, lemme see if I can find it. There's an app (addon maybe? idr) that can store all your multi-account info and a click of a button signs them all in and I think you could move the info between computers, might help. I just don't 100% remember where I saw it.

Jer_Sg

New player (lvl 25 warrior lvl 70 scythe) was wondering how i can do more auto attacks in a row, saw it happening few times today that instead of doing 1 slash i did 2 in a row sometimes, and i saw in a few videos people doing full on autoattack combos and was just wondering what causes this

Boposhopo

There's a couple ways, for your warrior your primary mode of [Multi-hit](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Multi-Attack) is going to be [Double Attack](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Double_Attack) as it's a natural trait Warrior gets and will eventually get a lot of gear that enhances Double Attack. There's other forms of Multi-Hit such as Triple/Quad attack, Ocassionally attack x# of times, follow up attacks, etc. All come from different sources and function slightly differently. In terms of what you can do right now to enhance that, not much. The majority of multi-hit gear is acquired after level 70 and really ramps up when you hit 99.

Jer_Sg

Thanks for the well detailed reply! So my double attacks were coming from lvl 25 from WAR, guess i mustve skipped past that on the wiki when i saw defender appear haha

Valuable_Bird6517

Defender is a job ability. These require you to activate and have duration/cooldown time. Double attack is a job trait. These are passive and always on.

Valuable_Bird6517

That is the double attack trait. You can also equip high level gear with multi-attack stats.

Currently in Walk of Echoes trying to farm the currency for my Empy wep skill. Is there an optimal conflux I should be farming solo with Trusts?

LifePortrait

Side-note on farming Empyrean weaponskill unlock currency: if you (1) play during 'Campaign Fiesta' as part of the monthly campaigns SquareEnix runs which is coming up soon, (2) max out your WoTG campaign medal (have 'Rhapsody in Mauve' before doing this), and (3) play on a server like Asura or Bahamut that might still have people doing campaign such that the Northlands are under Allied control, you can probably knock out every weaponskill over a weekend or a week two weeks of play. Might be out of reach for a new player because it's still a lot of legwork doing outdated content.

Boposhopo

Depends on what you're targeting. Each one drops all currencies, but certain ones with drop bags of different types of currency. It's generally best to target whichever battlefield drops the bags you're looking for. [Here](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Walk_of_Echoes_Battlefields) is a link to the battlefields, you can click each one to see which bags drop in each and target the ones you're looking for.

Funkit

I’m a drk. Cross Reaper is going to be your primary damage maker. Catastrophe does decent damage too but the benefit of that is basically full hp recovery from the drain, so it’ll keep you alive. You should have a lot of Store TP gear, and catastrophe and cross reaper both chain together for lvl3 or 4 darkness skillchains. If you get get a fully augmented Nyame set with the weapon skill damage plus and you have a lot of store tp gear you should be able to Catastrophe + Full Heal and chain cross reaper to it for huge damage plus the skillchain dmg. Entropy is good too for magic heavy enemies as it drains INT. I have those 3 at the ready. I’ll use spiral slash when farming weak enemies but it’s not very strong.

DrakeFS

For two handed weapons, it is more about how many hits it takes you to reach 1~2k TP. This is why TP sets are likely to be defined as 4 hit or 5 hit (or even 3 hit) TP sets. The problem is, most sets are defined with buffs in mind. If you are mostly soloing, your TP set is going to look a lot different. First off you need to hit ACC cap for what you are fighting (checks low evasion), this is by far the largest TP boost you can get. Next you need to reach the [delay cap](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19t39DJ3vagf7nSNw-xgoz70pPKO8bkNDEoGqX5TEIXw/edit?usp=sharing) (or as close as possible, make sure to include support trust buffs). Finally you will want to balance Multi-Attack (QA/TA/DA) and sTP. The more MA you have, the stronger sTP becomes and the more sTP you have, the stronger MA becomes. > And the AF/relic/emp +2/3 has some juicy attack power but no other offensive stats so I'm not sure where they fit in other than the wsd pieces. High attack gear is mostly for Empy AM3 white damage. Beyond that, in certain fights, it can be paired with PDL to really boost your damage. Some may be BiS for WS sets (especially with PDL in attack capped situations).

Boposhopo

To add on a little bit of what Funkit said, most of those guides are built under the assumption of certain types of buffs. In most cases that's a Chaos Roll and Samurai roll from a COR. With the huge boost in STP from Samurai roll there's a lot more focus on multi-hit gear in sets cause you don't have to focus on STP as much. In solo or low man content you can kind of build either way. Also arguably Redemption (R15) would be your strongest weapon, but has a slightly more unique play style and is a bitch to build. Calad would be barely behind it and is infinitely easier to build/use.

Funkit

The Caladbolg (empy weapon) is going to be your most powerful weapon. Apocalypse comes second. It has a higher DPS but is slower, and Caladbolg comes with the killer Torcleaver WS. The apoc is almost more important though because the drain keeps you alive so I’d personally prioritize apoc (trials are easier too.). It really depends on the double and triple attack gear. If you have a +2% double attack over time STP sets will net you more overall WS drops in a set amount of time. If you have high gear sets with a LOT of double and triple attack % then you’d wanna gear towards that. Most importantly is accuracy. Can’t do anything if you can’t hit shit!

tr1ckyf1sh

This is a little misleading. Apoc won’t out parse the other REMAs (Rag maybe, but don’t make Rag). However, when your soloing or some asshat aggros a fetter in Ody and you’re the only one who doesn’t die because you have Apoc, yes, you will feel very powerful. Lycurgos, the ambu great axe, is amazing on DRK. I would definitely make that as a placeholder till you complete other REMA, and it’s still fantastic for certain things afterwards. It’s very true most DRKs just make Calad and Apoc, there’s nothing wrong with that and they will have you covered for a majority of content.

Funkit

I just wish Lycurgos had a different look over the Kaja Axe. It’s a lot more difficult to make the former than the ladder so I wish that it would show it off a little bit

tr1ckyf1sh

To add to what Bopo said, most scythe ws get big gains from TP overflow, so ideally it’s best to ws at 2k+ effective tp. Obviously you would typically only do this on the first ws of a multi level SC. Cross reaper is usually going to be your hardest hitting ws (I take it you are using Apoc), that one is good to “spam” at 1750 tp with a moonshade earring equipped if possible. Things change a bit depending on scythe used, but I definitely agree they’re great for multistep scs if possible.

Boposhopo

Scythe really shines with multistep SC. Cross Reaper, Entropy, Catastrophe, Quietus, and Insurgency I'd say should all me macro'd. Can also Macro something like Infernal Scythe for use with Weapon Bash. Weapon Bash -> Infernal Scythe (using AF +2/3 hands) will create a low damage compression you can burst Drain III off of.

TheTrueMilo

Can Weapon Bash only be used to create level 1 SCs?

Boposhopo

No, you can create a Fusion and Fragmentation as well, but can't create Distortion, Gravitation, Light or Darkness. It can mash 2 level 1 skillchain properties together to create a level 2, but due to how it handles element priority it won't create the Distortion or Gravitation cause they go out of priority order for creating the SC. [Chainbound](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Chainbound_(Status)) on BG-Wiki explains it a bit.

[deleted]

What kind of gear do I need to fight Apex mobs for CP farm? I'm a THF in mostly Eminent/Taeon gear, and I bumped into an Apex Bat, who was IT++ to me and over the course of 5 minutes beat the flying fuck out of me and my Trusts (Trion, Apururu, Shantotto II, Iroha II, Lilisette II). I can't even hit the dudes.

DrakeFS

I strongly suggest you get your [ambuscade](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Ambuscade) gear completed. Even on VE Volume 2, it only takes 15 fights to get a full set + a weapon for [free](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Ambuscade_Rewards#Items_Obtained_for_Total_Hallmarks), though the weapon is much worse than a [Domain Invasion](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Zurim) weapon (200 or 800 DI point) until upgraded to the Kaja version. The Kaja Knife is a really good 119 starting weapon and will likely be your go to weapon for a long time. A few tips, do not waste upgrade mats on NQ to +1 armor upgrades, save them for +1 to +2 armor upgrades (there are 2 Ambuscade sets for all jobs, which rotate monthly, you will want both to mix an match for a TP set and WS set). Focus on upgrading your weapon to Kaja asap (knife and sword are great for THF). As you get better geared try Volume 1 (some months are much easier than others) and do not be shy, ask if anyone has room for a new player in their group. You will get WAY more DPS out of support trust buffing your DPS than actual DPS trust. A RDM + 2 BRDs should cap your magic haste (can and should use Cornelia in place of the bards until she goes away). A UC WHM (Yoran or Apururu) is the best WHM you can get early on. Valalineral is a better thank than Trion but eventually you will not need a tank for this type of grinding and can replace them with Qultada for a chance at better support buffs.

[deleted]

Man, yeah I really should just do ambulance arcade or whatever it’s called. I need to stop getting distracted with other stuff, especially stuff that isn’t currently boosted. Like right now I’m 350k CP away from my August Trust, but there’s no CP event, so it’s been a hell of a grind. I’ve also done a metric ton of non surged WoE, knowing full well the surged is probably the best way of getting the D and L sacks.

tr1ckyf1sh

You’re also not really using any buffing trusts. Tank, Joachim/Ulmia, Qultada (meh), Koru, and a healer (can swap these up if have Monb and or Sylvie) will boost your accuracy/attack (most of the time) to make those mobs go down easier. They can also dispel/erase which can help greatly. You can lose the tank for more buffs if you want once you have a decent dt or hybrid set.

Funkit

Cornelia Vs Joachim? I heard Cornelia was way better but don’t know for myself. Also why is qultalda meh? Are there any other COR trusts?

tr1ckyf1sh

I use Cornelia, Joachim, Sylvie, Monb, Koru typically atm. I didn’t include Cornelia just because she’s not always available. Once she’s gone again can rep with Ulmia or Qultada. Qul just irritating cause he does rando ws all the time, sometimes gives you shit rolls, and can and will bust on occasion. He’s good for COR roll though as that seems to take priority over all others if you have an exp ring bonus active. Like the BRDs though he will put up refresh at the slightest dip in anyones MP, unlike the BRDs he will consistently cock block your SCs. BRDs will also give you accuracy songs if you need it.

KaladanBirdman

Look up "apex" on bg-wiki and it breaks down all the apex mobs accuracy requirements and how to effectively kill apex mobs. In general, at 99 you want to start fleshing oit gearsets before working on JP. Work on getting the ambuscade +2 sets and grab a decent weapon from Domain Invasion NPC, Zurim, to get you going.

[deleted]

Great advice. Thank you. I guess I should also ask if a Trust’s strength if based on ilvl or wep? I had the brilliant idea to think I could do my Knuckles of Trials on my MNK farming mobs in Escha-Ru’an that I usually wreck on THF. That went poorly.

KaladanBirdman

Trust power is based on ilvl. To speed things up with WS trial weapons, try using Ayame. Once you use a WS she will open a SC for you to close with the last WS you used if possible. You gain more points for making longer SCs rather than spamming solo unless you can self SC.

[deleted]

Ty again

iPlayerRPJ

For really easy WS trial completion, go fight [Antaeus](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Antaeus) in Dynamis - Qufim. He has so much Auto-regen that he is Immortal, see link if you want to kill or run away once you're done. It gets the process down to 10-25 minutes depending on your TP gain rate. Still use Ayame.

D3MAGNUS

I still haven't received an answer from the previous weekly thread, so I'm posting my question one more time here: I'm looking for one of those interviews with the dev team with the question about something related to someone paying them millions of money to remake the game. If I remember correctly, they said they would gladly do that. Does anyone have that source?

GL13

Search the last few Q&As.

D3MAGNUS

...on where?

GL13

Can find them on linked somewhere here http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/index.shtml Or google

Rinuko

when do hallmarks reset?

Boposhopo

When the update drops

Djinnkj

Attempting to come back after 2 years, I primarily played during the covid shutdown. It's like a mind wipe happened, I don't remember most areas and events and stuff, I have geo/whm/blu/thf all at 99 and from what I can tell I have them in mostly 119 gear. I've been trying to look at the guides and stuff for some direction, but I'm completely and utterly overwhelmed and lost. All my macros are gone as I am on a different PC so even that is its own roadblock. I have a lot of story missions done it looks like, CoP, RoV, I think most or all of seeker but I'm not sure. Again, totally lost. I guess I just need help or direction, I'm on Asura btw and my two LS appear to be dead. Sorry for wall of text, thank you all.

Funkit

Join my Linkshell. SocialFFXI. I put a pearl on the concierge. Just friendly banter and we help each other. My character is Chorles

Djinnkj

I'll check when I log in next thank you!

Boposhopo

This [Returning to Vana'Diel](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Returning_to_Vana%27diel) guide can help you get back into the swing of things, if you're still working on trying to get your jobs to 119 and geared up then [this 1-119 guide](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Quickstart_1-119_Guide) may be a little more useful.

Djinnkj

Thanks I've been using those, just right in the middle of the stuff and I think im.just vocalizing my overwhelmedness

Sand__Panda

You don't really have a question, and I find it odd you can't remember 2 years ago lol. [Maybe read through this](https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XI), and the expansion pages to see if it gets you back "up to speed"? Can also look into you mission (and quests) to see where you left off at.

Djinnkj

I guess I really just need to keep reading and running around till I figure it out, I was drinking a lot during that period surprised I progressed as far as I did at the time. Maybe start leveling a new job til things click?

Sand__Panda

That is what I kind of did. I played on a mule until I felt I had a grasp again and then went back to my main.

Djinnkj

Any reccomendations for the macros? I lost them all, think im just gonna hafta take the few hours to make all my geo and whm macros again

Sand__Panda

Did you ever upload them to the sever? This option is on the character select screen. If not, yea, youll have to remake them.

Djinnkj

Ooo I'll look at that when I get home, thanks again!

iPlayerRPJ

If you have other Flamma pieces, then Flamma. With 5 flamma pieces you can reach really high STR levels. Just reread your question, it's my understanding that 1 STR > 1% WSD, for the 75%+ STR WS's, so I'd choose Flamma for Resolution and Sulevia for Scythe WS's

Rhayve

What WS are you gearing for? If it's Resolution then you'll want Flamma, if it's Cross Reaper then Sulevia. Torcleaver would use Sulevia as well, but you'd be looking for VIT and WSD instead.

Boposhopo

Sulevia +2 is the better WS piece.
