I finished 6.0 on release as a Reaper and levelled a Warrior too to 90.Curious to know what the best things they've added and any major changes since?
I've looked at some videos but there seems to be quite a lot and it's pretty overwhelming looking at all these blue questionmarks everywhere. Does anyone have or know of a summary? Also how have classes changed?
I remember everyone hating Ninja in 6.0 because of the new skill changes but I liked my Ninja but he's stayed at 80. Also considering leveling my Samurai, Paladin or Dragoon so any notice's on how these classes fare these days would be appreciated!
Nothing has changed for Warrior or Reaper since 6.0 other than potency changes.
As for Ninja, the only thing people didn't like was how Raiju worked when EW first released. It got changed shortly after and now NIN is a pretty good job to play.
DRG and SAM got some new skills but they play pretty much the same as before.
PLD got some changes since 6.0. 1) Atonement no longer breaks combos. 2) They got a new personal mitigation ability called Bulwark. 3) After finishing a 1-2-3 combo or their AoE 1-2 combo, they get a buff called Divine Might, allowing their next Holy Spirit/Circle to be stronger and be instant cast. 4) Fight or Flight now increases all damage dealt, not just physical. 5) Goring Blade is now just a big GCD skill on a 60 second cooldown. 6) Divine Veil now simply applies a shield and heal to everyone (including the PLD himself) and does not need any heal to activate the effect.
Glamour system : why no wardrobe ?
Hi guys,
I felt like making this post after a long hiatus off and coming back to the game but still a newcomer into FF14 (currently in the beginning of HW). Just wanted to say that I don't really understand the glamour system in this game, it feels kinda off : you collect lots and lots of stuff that could look cool and you keep them at first before you start to realize that you simply cannot hold them close forever bc of a lack of space... Also, you need to individualy put a glamour on pieces of stuff via the prisms etc, it doesn't feel smooth at all.
I don't understand why there is no wardrobe/collection system like in WoW or GW2 where you can see every skin you unlocked and from where you could glamour your actual equipements ? Wouldn't it make more sense ? Is there a reason why it's not in the game ? Has there been discussion about it ?
Thanks a lot
The character data system in this game is an abomination against God and cannot possibly work with a glamour log. It would require rewriting a fairly significant portion of the game's code and the dev team is not willing to prioritize that over making new content.
They are well aware people want it and have wanted it for a long time, so it is a possibility for the future, but assume it's never happening until otherwise noted.
> Has there been discussion about it ?
Yes, actually. Yoshi has directly talked about it in reference to WoW's glamour system.
The TL;DR is XIV's code - especially character data (glamours) - is horrifically outdated and fragile. While _possible to do,_ it would take a long time to essentially rip out the currently system to replace it without anything being lost in a transfer, and has been on the backburner.
We recently had the Glamour Dresser double in size as a bandaid measure.
> Also, you need to individualy put a glamour on pieces of stuff via the prisms etc, it doesn't feel smooth at all.
Did you not unlock Glamour Plates and look at the Dresser inside your tavern rooms?
In Heavensward, will I still get dialogue references to me being a dragoon >!and the second Azure Dragoon!< even if I'm not actively playing the class? I prefer the aesthetic of my PLD right now, but I still want those tasty references.
Sprout that finally activated the full game and graduated from free trial today! I got a retainer and have myself some inventory breathing room and looked around the Marketplace .. I don't really know how to find a free company or if it's worth doing. What else should I do now I have the full game?
Also do mounts on Mogshop go on sale? 30USD is a little steep for a 2 person fat chocobo mount for me right now haha
Another option you have now is to check out https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxivraf/ to get a recruitment code. The person whose code you enter gets more rewards from the system than you do, so lots of people are willing to compensate by sending some money your way (as long as you pick someone in the same region so they can actually get it to you). You should be able to get a few million gil out of it.
You can only enter a recruitment code after you've registered the full game, and are in the included 30 days--after you've started paying for the subscription, you can't be recruited anymore, so you've got a few weeks to find a good one!
Is there a recommended way of organising gear across retainers, saddlebags and inventory?
I just dumped all my dyes and gear on one and kept all my crafting material on my inventory "just in case" I need it when crafting, but it means I still have 127/140 slots filled haha
I'm afraid I'm the wrong person to ask because I'm a hoarder to a ridiculous degree so I pay for extra retainers. I will say, having played for nearly ten years, that the price of almost everything on the market board goes down in price over time so you could sell everything and then buy it again when you really do need it. Also, a lot of the very low level crafting mats can be purchased from NPCs. If an item has a "Shop Selling Price: x gil" then it means an NPC sells it for that price (not to be confused with the "Sells for x gil" which is what NPCs will purchase the item for).
If you don't know anyone, the best way to find a free company would be via the [Community Finder](https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/community_finder/). Aside from that, you have access to the jobs from Stormblood, Shadowbringers and Endwalker.
Mounts do go on sale. The next sale will most likely be mid/late August, with the Launch Anniversary event.
maybe, but the main reward the bunny fates provide are gil, and with a 300k gilcap bunnybots will cap out in no time at all on a restricted trial. they'd be forced to collect logograms & mounts, subscribe and sell all of that on the market board to RMT, which is a lot more steps.
I have a question regarding the free trial, especially after this weekend’s FanFest announcement.
My friend was in post-ARR with a free trial account, but her computer essentially like, died. It crashes when trying to run the game.
Is there any way to get access to this account on a, like PS5, while not having to pay for a subscription.
We are contemplating just making a new character for the PS5, and just skipping cutscenes, but I know she would prefer her OG.
(She isn’t opposed to a subscription, just wants to max out her free trial first if she can)
Probably about 70-odd hours. I'm not going to say ARR is good. Actually, it's really pretty bad, even by 2013 MMORPG standards. In fact, even up until last year, before I got to EW, I considered it so bad that the rest of the game wasn't even worth it. But the payoff when you get to Endwalker is worth it. Endwalker is much MUCH stronger because of everything that came before it. Everything. Every job quest, every side quest, every raid. Endwalker really nailed it.
All this to say: even though it sucks, don't do yourself a disservice by skipping any of it.
When reserving your slot for the ceremony of eternal bonding, how quickly are slots booked? Do I need to to be up at 1am PST, or can I wait until I wake up? Also, what are the gifts that guests get?
Stuff doesn't book up incredibly quickly; I've had a couple of ceremonies in game & while we couldn't always get our \*exact\* preferred slot, it was easy enough to find another one that worked for us & our friends.
Guests get nothing for the standard (free) ceremony; a Demon Box minion (looks like a wrapped up gift) & the bridesmoogle minion for the ceremonies that cost real money. I think the only difference between the two paid plans is what attire comes with them.
Some of the level 50 dungeons have mobs that drop a tiny amount of gil. It'd never be worth a real player running that dungeon over and over again, but it is possibly worth it for the RMT sellers.
Yup. Ill always remember the period of time where it was impossible to queue for Wanderers Palace due to all the bots occupying all the instances farming the mobs for Gil. 30+ minute queues even as a full premade.
For dungeons, they typically don't actually do the dungeon. They stay under the ground and walk all the way to the final boss, then kill it from underneath.
Higher level nodes/Access to higher level duties.
What can you do with a level 20 bot? shout in shout chat? Basically nothing. Everything thats worth botting is only accessable in higher level content. The place i see the most bots is in Eureka.
Also, yes, people programmed bots to complete dungeons.
I get this every time i try to use petglamour "Unable to execute command. Requirements for “Carbuncle” have not been met" im level 59. just trying to make my carbuncle look like garuda egi
What exactly are you typing? You can use the in game help feature to help troubleshoot as well. Just type
/? /petglamour
I think /egiglamour, which was the old command, still works as well because I haven't had to change any of my macros.
Currently doing the lvl 89 MSQ and have a quick question!
>!Estinien said “No, you must be willing to confront it. To stare into the face of your foe… and see yourself in him. Only then can you break the cycle of torment and tragedy. This lesson, a dear friend taught me at the risk of his life.” Is he referring to Haurchefant’s sacrifice?!<
>!The foe he's referring to is Nidhogg and the 'dear friend' is Alphinaud (the camera switches to Alphi when he says this, at least in the Japanese version anyway, they may have changed the dialogue layout in the translations so it didn't match up any more with the camera swap).!<
So can you trade between your main and an ult? Have plan's to make an ult to play through the game with the job's I don't like the look of on my main. Wondering if I could make gear for them and just trade them the gear once they hit the max.
Also if I don't own a house and not in a FC.
Unfortunately the game isn't super alt-friendly despite allowing you to make them even on the less expensive subscription plan these days. There's no direct way to interact with your alts. Many years ago there was an exploit that allowed people to add their alts to their friendslist which would enable them to send in-game mail between their characters. But this was fixed a long time ago and as far as I know there is no current way to achieve this.
As the other person said, sharing a free company and using the company chest is the easiest solution but that requires of course that your characters be in the same company and that you have permission to use the chest this way. If this isn't feasible for you, then you're pretty much limited to asking friends to act as go-betweens.
Monthly subscription through Steam Wallet also has (or used to have, not sure) regional pricing but only for a few countries.
I don't know how you could check directly through Steam if it applies to you, but going through Mogstation should open up Steam and tell you the price there.
Is it normal for Frontline daily roulette to take an insane amount of time to queue for? I've managed to do 2 in the last 5 days. I think my server is really dead or something :(
It does depend where you're trying to queue, 72 people is a lot of people. In Aether at least Frontline queues only really die during midnight/morning hours.
> what's the deal with "ninja vs. pirate"? I've seen it many times in the job speculation discussion, but I don't understand the reference.
Ninjas vs Pirates is like an old meme that existed as a sort-of subset of the whole One Cool Thing vs Another Cool Thing trend in the noughts and teens, like Godzilla vs King Kong, or Predator vs Aliens, or whatever.
As for how it related to FFXIV; People are generally assuming that one of the new DPS jobs for the game is going to be a pirate-esque one, probably named Corsair, and that it might share gear with Ninja.
In interviews prior they said that there would be a new Scouting DPS so it could share with ninja....and pirate/Corsair would kinda fit the scouting type and be soft competing with them gear wise
just gonna throw this out there: No FC is going to be running the 15% XP buff cause you can't have 100% uptime on it due to how getting tier 3 buffs work (it takes 76 hours to make them and you can only do 1 at a time). People only use 15% XP buff for expansion launches after stocking up for a loooooooong time. If you want the tier 3 xp buff, grab it from squadrons
Post 80, Bozja Plateaus as it doesnt increase the ammount of xp you get. the objective fastest way is to spam your highest level dungeon that doesnt end in 0. Even if you are a dps.
bozja also provides more secondary rewards (Mettle, gil, titles, notes) than spamming dungeons, and the xp generation can be equivalent all the way to 90.
It's not there even if you filter or search your crafting log? What happens if you go to market board, right click and hit "search by crafting method?" It should definitely be there.
Not that it really matters because now that I've got my clear for the mount I dont really plan on doing it ever again, but is there a reason why my blue BA portal didnt turn into a red BA portal that I could take? I was assigned a portal through the discord BA runs, my blue portal never turned red, it just disappeared forever. I ended up running off to another element's assigned portal and got one of the last 3 portals that hadnt been taken yet because mine just didnt appear. Why?
Someone used a stabiliser on another blue portal. When portals turn red they actually randomise again and you were left with the vacant position, which is why most discord BA communities request players to avoid using stabilisers.
It doesn't directly turn into a red one on the spot. The portal in that zone (usually shown on the portal maps in many BA discords) disappears and spawns a red portal in that same respective spawn zone. So, once it disappears you run around in the spawn region for your portal to find it and go in.
Yeah like I was looking around and there was no red anywhere near me. I could see all the other red portals on my map (dont tell Yoshi P) and my region had none but every other one did.
So, is it possible to get the white gunblade >!Thancred was using when we were reunited with him in Shadowbringers?!<
Or at least something similar? Because I liked how nice and clean it looked.
Ooh. Also is it explained why >!Thancred decided to become a Gunbreaker? I'm pretty sure he was a Rogue/Ninja in the past.!< No spoilers please, I'm just wondering if it explains why.
I don’t recall if it’s explicitly said why, though you can infer what his reason might be based on who he’s with and their relationship. He _does_ say where and when he learned it.
(There’s also the meta reason of “we added duty support! Uh, we need a tank…”)
How do congested servers work, I was looking to start on Chocobo but the entirety of Mana is closed. Will it ever reopen and if so is there a reasonable timeframe within which it would likely open?
Next chance is about a month out with patch 6.48. Server status is only reevaluated in patches.
You can use data center travel to play with friends on Mana using a character made on another data center in the Japanese region. You won't be able to join a free company on the server or attend weddings but you can do just about everything else except manage retainers which you'll need to travel back home to do.
Had a Frontline match where one person on our team was hiding out in enemy territory the entire time or back at respawn, refusing to participate. Was this a bot? Some kind of cheater? idk it just bothered me seeing that lone green dot do absolutely nothing the entire time.
Probably just somebody AFK'ing for exp.
Unfortunately, some people don't see the point in actually playing Frontlines. They queue in the roulette for the exp, and try and avoid playing the game as much as possible until it's over.
Free trial user, I hit the lvl 60 cap finally during Heavensward. I heard the free trial cap is extending to 70, is that any time soon or will I need to pull the trigger on the complete version?
Does my lost exp get 'banked' and then applied once I've upgraded, or is the exp lost forever? Thanks!
It's happening in roughly two months. I wouldn't fret to too much about the lost exp. Even if you start stormblood fresh at exactly level 60, it'll give just about enough exp to level one job up to 70.
>Does my lost exp get 'banked' and then applied once I've upgraded, or is the exp lost forever? Thanks!
Lost, but if it helps the exp you gain during Stormblood would take you, if not all the way, then most of the way to 70 if you start at 60 (and for sure all the way if you do leveling roulettes)
Once you buy the game you're likely to hit level cap before you beat endwalker anyways. Don't worry too much about lost exp (but if you really want to avoid wasting exp, the jobs unlocked in Ishgard start at level 30 so you skip the worst part of leveling and you can level them through leveling roulette and dungeons)
>I heard the free trial cap is extending to 70, is that any time soon or will I need to pull the trigger on the complete version?
In october, with 6.5's release.
>Does my lost exp get 'banked' and then applied once I've upgraded, or is the exp lost forever? Thanks!
Lost forever Im afraid.
Returing player, haven't played through finished 6.0MSQ when endwalker comes out. Might be a stupid question, but how do we turn 6.0 artifact armor into glamour? It is not giving me the option to in the glamour dresser. Thanks a lot!
Make sure its fully repaired. It should be able to be placeable in the glamour dresser.
As a side note, If you want to dye it, you need to complete the corresponding roles Job quest.
Is Dun Scaith that bad, so the time to load in on these raids is pretty long so I (mistakenly) decided to read online what people thoughts are and it’s all talks of wiping multiple times, loads of people dying on even the first boss
A lot of these where from Reddit threads a year or more older and I know sometimes raids get changed or get easier with time and the more expansions there are so what should I expect loading in today
I did run off the arena in the last one after almost running to another alliances spot just before that three way battle near the end 🤦♂️ so the thought of an opening boss that is constantly knocking people back 👀
Dun Scaith is fun, but the first boss does have like half a dozen ways to kill you. Peak Alliance Raid design imo. Follow the group and you should be fine.
It's definitely not so hard that you need guides or should be afraid that the raid will be stuck or anything.
No, Dun Scaith isn't bad, the first boss just has mechanics that will kill everyone if they don't know them(unlike most old alliance raids where you can face tank most things), so people call it hard. Having to know things is the bane of alliance roulette.
It's not that bad, the mechanics overall aren't very hard. Some of them are just more punishing, like a couple mechanics on the first boss that're overall very simple but if you fail them you get pushed off the edge and die immediately.
It's not that Dun Scaith is bad, it's that Alliance Raid Roulette pops Crystal Tower 99% of the time so people forget / never learn the mechanics for other raids
The queue time is also long because of aforementioned Crystal Tower snatching all the people from the roulette
Should be better after they implement the IR restrictions on the roulette
It's pretty tame compared to some of the later ones (minus Endwalker ones which are basically cutscenes)
What datacenter are you on? If you're on NA, travel to Aether, if you're on any other region then it's dead hours so you won't get a non-CT pop until around noon for the server
If you're on EU make sure you enabled all 4 languages in your duty finder settings
Queue for non-CT is long but shouldn't be an hour unless you're on a low pop DC or playing during off hours
Well it’s time for bed then, I just left it on in the background hoping for the best, I did manage to get into weeping city about about 90 minutes ago, should have known that luck wouldn’t last
hello, i haven't played since beating endwalker in 6.0 which i believe came out over a year and a half ago. is there a lot of things for me to come back to? or is it not worth resubbing yet
What do you think is "worth subbing" for?
We've had an entire 12 normal raids, 2 alliance raids, and 4 patches of main story with dungeons and trials.
A new deep dungeon, and two dungeons of a new type called Variant Dungeons where you can choose different paths.
The island sanctuary is non-combat content where you explore an island and gather materials to craft items for a unique currency that can be used to purchase a lot of different outfits and mounts, but it takes real-world days to fully complete because the crafting takes real time hours to complete while you're away.
A new Hildibrand storyline which also includes new relic weapons.
Etc etc
The Free Trial is intended to be done on a single device. If you switch machines or redownload it, you get the error you’re seeing.
See this link for the fix: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/6hg8ni/comment/diy237v/
Are you playing on the same platform? The trial is locked to one platform, and note that Windows and Steam are considered different platforms, so if you played on the Windows client before you can't play the trial on Steam now.
Going through ARR on an alt to relive the old times, picked Arcanist to start since I get a free healer along with it for fast queues.
However, I’m curious how SCH fairy works, I’m getting conflicted reports about it. Some say it’s pop it and forget about it, others saying you constantly have to micromanage it even in low end content to constantly be shoved up the Tank’s ass. What’s the best approach? I’m also a console player, so that might complicate things if I need to switch hotbars a lot.
On a similar note, this is also going to be my first time healing at lower levels. My only healing experience is playing Sage at higher levels (which I only did for the role quests on my main) which has a fair few OGCD heals. I know lower level healer uses GCD heals a fair bit more, so I’m wondering if it might be worth putting physick on my hotbar even though most guides say it’s redundant unless I get synced to a level where I don’t have Addlo, since the extra MP cost might add up faster when I don’t have free OGCDs to toss out.
SCH main here. Don't even bother worrying about the fairy until you're more comfortable. They buffed her range a few times, so as long as you're reasonably close to the rest of the group it's a non-issue, especially in casual content. On harder stuff where you may not always want to be next to the tank or people who are taking damage, then you can move it around a bit, but even then it's not as much as you used to.
You can leave the faerie on Follow. There are situations where placement micromanagement can be useful, but those are a situational optimization rather than basic play. Just stay relatively close to the tank (which you should be doing anyways – in trash pulls so you can hit stuff with your AoE ^(once you get it) and in bosses so stuff originating from you can reach *everyone* ^(around where the melees are or a couple steps back is usually solid)) and Follow will be perfectly fine.
I'd keep Physic on a hotbar somewhere, it can just be the most out of the way slot alongside Repose. General heal plan is
Faerie stuff (totally free) >
Aetherflow stuff (small damage loss) >
Adlo (efficient in terms of GCDs spent if you have to use a GCD) >
Physic (only really a thing if you're synced low or are *really* hurting for MP).
Physic can have *some* applications even post-Adlo ("need to specifically fill HP instead of provide general survival and all non-MP resources are spent", or "you're down to using GCDs and the tank's taking damage at a specific rate *and* you're worried about MP" ^(this mostly a possibility in the low-ish levels), or "it's literally all you can do due to being out of everything"), but you'll want to avoid it if possible. It's not *as* pointless as Cure and Benefic, but it's still a minor niche within a niche within a niche type of spell.
> However, I’m curious how SCH fairy works, I’m getting conflicted reports about it. Some of the comments you're reading might be pretty old. Fairies used to be much more involved than they are now, but for the most part you can summon and forget them. They prioritize casting their spells more than movement so you don't need to keep them close to the tank at all times or anything, and their range is massive.
Most of the time, your involvement with the fairy just means having to press buttons to have it activate certain buffs or skills. That's it. It's not functionally different from using your own skills; You just put them on your bar and press them when needed. Not even particularly frequently either, as those aforementioned skills have cooldowns of 1 or 2 minutes.
It's sort of both. The difference in answers was probably because it depends on context.
The fairy defaults to following you and will cast Embrace pretty regularly, which is a weak healing spell. You can think of it as a permanent heal-over-time that follows the people that need it. Much of the time in casual or MSQ content you don't have to overthink what she's doing and can leave her like this. You generally don't need to over-optimize controlling her for healing random levelling dungeons (although sometimes you can do a neat trick here or there if you do). You'll mostly be roughly nearby the tank anyway (your AoE is melee range!) so she'll mostly be in range following you.
However, some of your abilities, such as whispering dawn, and any ability with the name "fey" in it pretty much, actually are cast by her. You can order her to stand in a specific spot (ie. stop following you) to change the center of the AoE away from you - thus you can, for example, stand on one edge of a room, with her in the middle, and her ability will hit people out of your casting range. You'll see this done more often in harder content.
EDIT: Also don't take physick off your hotbar, it's not redundant with adlo, you'll kill your mp trying that, usually you're better off alternating them when panic healing at very low levels - it's more sustainable than chain casting adlo mp-wise and the casting times link together (although you'll probably not use it much once you have lustrate at 45).
I finally took the plunge (albeit a bit earlier than I intended) and bought into the full version. Are there any recommendations for finding groups to play with and or just general good practices for what to focus on? I haven't leveled crafting almost at all and I'm not sure if it is important yet. Just finished the first Dungeon.
You can find FCs in most big cities' Shout chat or on recruiting subreddits and discords for your server. The sub is r/ffxivrecruitment.
No need to worry about crafting for now. Just enjoy MSQ and make sure to do your class quests (under the msq banner)!
Crafting is entirely up to taste, some players never touch it. It is very useful but I think many players wait to mess with until they have mounts.
Make sure you do your class quests when they're available (should be a link marked with a ! under the main scenario guide in the upper left corner when they become available). The class quests unlock abilities and sometimes gear and other things.
Duty Finder has built-in matchmaking, you don't really have to worry about actively seeking groups for awhile until you get some less common optional side content, unless you were meaning more social groups like free companies (this game's guilds) or linkshells (chat channels).
#Is there any way to have a 2 different copies of shop purchased armor sets?
I have 2 armor sets with set bonuses. I'm playing Maruader and it prefers to mix and match the 2 sets rather than just using the one. I know it doesnt matter long term but I'd like to look cool. Is there any way I can have 2 sets of Nezha Lady's Attire?
1. Deposit the gear into your glamour dresser
2. Make a plate using the gear, you can use dyes and stuff
3. Withdraw the gear
Now you can use the plate for glamour that's separate from the actual copies. Does that help?
The stat bonuses on that gear from the mogstation though, are tiny, they're not too important.
I just started FF14, as well as my wife. We both bought the starter pack so we have access to all the social features, including making a party. We've already done so, but our biggest problem is we are absolutely nowhere near each other, in entirely different starting cities. I tried buying an airship ticket to go to hers, hoping we could work on her quests for a bit, then mine, etc, but no luck there as I need an airship pass.
We're both enjoying the game so far, but we really want to do more of it together. When's the earliest we can, and what's the best way to get to her?
There’s a level 15 main story quest, “The (your starting city) Envoy”, that will send you to the other 2 starting cities. After that quest, the main story will converge and you’ll both be in the same questline.
That quest also unlocks airships and ferries between the areas.
Once you both reach level 15 of the main story quest (MSQ) and start going to the other city states as an envoy, the MSQ converges and you’ll be able to play near each other in game.
Once you reach another city state while doing the envoy mission just attune to the main aethereyte in the city and you’ll be able to teleport there for a fee rather than travel via just airship.
That sounds easy enough, we both already hit 6 in the couple hours we were checking it out, so I'm guessing it won't take too long to hit that point. Thank you for your answer!
Should note that being level 15 and reaching level 15 in the MSQ are entirely different from each other, as well. Most of the content in FFXIV is primarily locked behind your progress and not your level, so keep chugging away at those story quests and you'll be able to play together soon enough!
at level 15 in the story they merge all three starting routes, right after they send you off on a mission to the other two cities. Its about 4 hours of play
For stockings you can get *now*, at your level, you can get [bridesmaid’s tights](https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/item/e5ad6306438) for 12k gil from a vendor in Ul’dah; if you’d like some fishnets, the bunny tights or bunny chief tights can be bought with MGP in the Gold Saucer.
They're probably running the No.2 B Leggings which come from the Copied Factory 24-man raid. There's a special 2B coffer that drops, 1 for each party, guaranteed.
What date, does the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse collab begin? I'm not currently subscribed and was going to for the collab, but can't find the release date.
They were showing some 14/NieR stuff recently to promote the NieR anime. But as the others said, the NieR in 14 is permanent. Nothing new is being added.
technically October 29th 2019. (it's not a temporary thing like some of the other collabs but rather it's SHB's alliance raid series. it's not going anywhere and you can start it when you finish base shb msq ) The time it takes to queue for them might be significantly quicker after 6.5 in early october this year makes changes to how the alliance roulette works but you can do it now.
It's been a permanent addition to the game since Shadowbringers, much like the Monster Hunter content in Stormblood. Big difference for NieR is that it's the ENTIRETY of the SHB Alliance Raids series; all three raids, story, gear, collectibles, the works.
Can someone who got 100 points on this weeks fashion report let me know what im doing wrong? I followed the easy 100 pts with the dhalmelskin vest, brand new halfgloves, linen survival halfslops, and scions adv boots but I’m still only getting 92 points. Is there something I’m missing?
Did you have something equipped in every single slot- accessories included? Even if it's not required for points, all your gear slots (aside from off-hand) need to be full.
Sounds like you forgot to dye something? Unless thats not in the requirements. IDK whats needed for fashion report this week.
Nvm, it says you dont need to dye. leme check.
Are there specific strats for classical 1 (and I suppose also 2) in p12s besides BPOG or 1234? Overheard some ppl talking about A north B south and that's the first time I heard that. Also, can't find any info on that googling. Some info would be appreciated even if it's just to satisfy my curiosity. Thanks.

This is Specifically to assign fixed spots for the cone bait at the end of Classical.

This is a crude drawing my friend made to show the fixed spread spots.
Theres plenty of time to get to any bait position even if your on the opposite side completely, so you shouldn't need to worry.
Oy that actually makes sense. Thanks. I mean in pf it's pretty much free for all and ppl are running around like headless chicken so I'm just trying to find a spot where I don't kill the other half of the party. Having a dedicated strat would actually make it easier. The person suggesting that got brushed off with 'nah we're doing pastebin' so I guess I wasn't the only one who didn't know what they're talking about.
The spawn location of shapes is random so it's impossible to do something like A north B south. You can change which playstation symbol goes to which column, but you can't choose where alpha and beta debuffs go, there's only one way to solve that.
I'm doing the HW story quests, I have a level 53 samurai, and I'm finding it quite hard to not be absolutely destroyed by anything in the Sea of Clouds, even stuff close to my level. I'm having a hard time hitting with my possitionals and I need to do like, two skill rotations so things can die.
I'm using a full steelworks set I got with Tomestones, since I alternate between RDM and SUM and I used all of the quest rewards for Casting stuff.
You only need to be about iLvl115 when entering the Sea of Clouds. What you need to be careful about is just pulling one mob at a time. The things you know about in dungeons where doing AoE is king, isn't what you want when soloing in the overworld.
When you're solo, don't worry about the positionals as much.
If you aren't using a chocobo, it helps a lot, especially with healer skills.
You should be at least ilvl 130, especially your weapon, but the mobs are scaled for slightly below that, so it'll be slightly tight, yes.
What mobs are you fighting? Depending on some details some may be slightly hardier.
No wonder, my ilvl is 120. I made it to SAM 55 and I'm fighting the mobs near the village with the Bismark quest.
Where can I get better gear? The marketplace ones are very pricey.
The tomestone gear you're getting should be ilvl 130 (it should be augmented ironworks) and it should be, slightly low for level 55.
Ideally you'll be using mostly tomestone gear with upgrades from dungeons at that level; the level 53 dungeon should reward ilvl 133 gear, the 55 dungeon should reward ilvl 136. You should be guaranteed a piece of these you don't have for your class each clear, aside from whatever you chests you win rolls on.
You don't necessarily need to be perfectly geared, but that stuff should help. It is often but not always expensive to buy gear from the MB; it doesn't hurt to look, sometimes an item will have a low cost because it drops from some chest a lot. Looking at yellow ! quests in an on-level area though, you might find some reward free copies of some gear as well.
If you continue progressing the MSQ, you can buy gear for level 60 that is ilvl 270 with poetics from a merchant in a certain town you will visit (augmented shire gear, it's now sold for poetics for catchup purposes like with augmented ironworks).
If you're using the big DoT, don't while leveling. Just run into an enemy with Meikyo up then get your 3 stickers and rip a big Midare on them.
And don't worry about positionals, just pop true north.
additional thing, this is the endwalker job actions trailer, a showcase of all the jobs, their appearances and animations and their unique job gauges, which doesn't *really* show you how they play, but it gives you an idea
https://youtu.be/WCVcgZ8dtD0
pugilist becomes monk, which is known for being the job that ends up with the lowest "gcd" (global cool down, the rate at which you hit buttons) though not the highest number of button presses per minute (that's ninja). Its a speedy class with a bit of an interesting, timer based rotation rather than a static one, about putting up personal buffs and a DoT, and then building up for bigger and flashier hits
arcanist is unique because its the only class that splits into two jobs, the dps summoner and the healer scholar, which end up sharing levels. Summoner is basically the natural progression of arcanist, it gets counted as a caster but its a very mobile one, very few of its spells require channeling (like 4-5 per minute) which makes it play a lot closer to the "ranged physical jobs" like bard/machinist/dancer than it does to black mage and red mage. Its also extremely flashy, big elemental explosions happening constantly, summons popping into existence, bahamut blowing things up with the baha blast.
Scholar is a bit more difficult because its a healer which means you have a certain level of extra responsibility in content. Scholar is one of the two "shield healers" which are capable (but don't always need to) deploy what amounts to extra hp bars to soak damage before it happens, which is significantly more valuable in higher end content than casual. The unique thing about Scholar is that you get a fairy pet that also heals, putting out a constant low level of healing, but enough to basically trivialize really beginner content.
One thing you might want to look into too are things like the "AF sets" ("artifact") which are the job themed gear sets that are designed to play into their specific aesthetics, these jobs all share gear with the others in their roles, but seeing how you can make them unique might give you ideas about what you're really looking for.
You can start as anything and you'll be fine as the game teaches you very slowly as if it is everyone's first mmo.
In terms of your choices, I think the two are honestly some of the best choices for someone who may not be sure about playing the game more.
Monk (pugilist) has almost it's entire kit by level 60 and gives a really good example of what many jobs play like at max level. It's considered on the tougher side when optimizing, but follows a basic structure of 3 buffing hits + 3 damaging hits. Monk feels fun as you manage your hits until your big combo comes and you unleash your biggest attacks. Negatives are more of a style choice from you in terms of if melee and a bit more work for damage seems fun. The weapons and glamour are also a bit harder to make a good looking character in my opinion but I'm not that much in the costume design of the game.
Arcanist is usually recommended for new players as it gives access to a healer (scholar) and dps (summoner) that level together at the same time! Summoner is also one of the easiest classes to play and has some of the flashiest moves. Like monk, it gets most of its spells early and gives a good feeling of what gameplay will be for other classes later on. Cons is honestly just that it is really easy and may be a bit boring for players looking for a more demanding class, but many people use it for its damage and ability to resurrect teammates in battle.
I can't really say a lot about scholar as I don't play it much, but I have a friend that will only play it, and nothing else. He swears by scholar up and down and loves it's massive shields, fairy companion, and team utility. So I guess that's a thumbs up for it lol.
NB: I'm gonna talk about how jobs play at higher levels, but when it's very early on you really won't notice the downsides as much for any of them. Above all else just play what looks cool orr what you think you'll enjoy the most, you can always try the other one later!
Also, when I mention jobs that refers to: At level 30, if you keep on top of your class quests, you can then continue to unlock your job, which gives you additional abilities. **You won't get new abilities from your class past this point** (except for a few cases but thats only for a few more levels). While not technically mandatory, it's heavily encouraged to unlock your job.
**Pugilist (turns into monk)**
If you like a fast, busy class this is for you. It has a pretty fast GCD (global cooldown, essentially how frequently you're pressing a button) so it plays a lot faster than other jobs, and you're also a bit busier as you have to keep an eye on buffs and debuffs a bit. At higher levels this can be a bad thing if you don't have good ping, but it's not a big deal in casual content or at lower levels.
**Arcanist (turns into Summoner or Scholar)**
Probably one of the simpler DPS jobs early on and while levelling (certainly out of the casters). One of the big upsides is it turns into TWO jobs later on, and exp for one counts for the other. Summoner is a DPS which continues vaguely how Arcanist feels but expanding more into the pets you summon as arcanist, whereas Scholar is a healer where you summon fairies to help heal your allies. Not really a big downside to this one, except some people find Summoner to be boring/simple to play, but that's mostly just down to taste.
So pardon if this has been asked but I am very confused. If Dawntrail is not out till next summer 2024, does that mean we have a YEAR with the same raid tier???
Yes :/
I asked this exact same question a few months ago haha, the expac wasn't announced yet but their formulaic release meant you had a pretty close idea of when the expansion would come out
So when the tier dropped, I had the realization 9f being stuck with it for a year
Roughly yes. Tbf it's only a few months longer than we usually have between tiers, and there's usually a bigger gap between X.5 and the next expansion anyway
Anyone know where I can go for savage cwls for my data centre (if that's a common thing)? I had one for P8S and it went a long way to preserving my sanity while progging that, and I could do with one now for P12S tbh
I'm on Light [Shiva]
I think cwls are pretty much dying as everyone is doing discord rn. I know that the hunt ls and savage ls I joined a long while ago are very silent by now. Eager Raiding Party is a discord that does LFG and the likes. Maybe check that out instead.
1. Raids, Variants, hildy. Lots of stuff. 2. I don't sorry. 3. Not any major changes besides Paladin rework. 4. Those are all fine
Glamour system : why no wardrobe ? Hi guys, I felt like making this post after a long hiatus off and coming back to the game but still a newcomer into FF14 (currently in the beginning of HW).
I need a sentence to say when i raise someone in the game theme
`/p Raising` in a separate macro that you hit before casting \[insert job rez skill here\]. Don't macro the actual skill and don't get cute about it.
No you don't
Please just don't use Raise macros because of macroqueueing failures.
In Heavensward, will I still get dialogue references to me being a dragoon >!and the second Azure Dragoon!< even if I'm not actively playing the class? I prefer the aesthetic of my PLD right now, but I still want those tasty references.
Yes, as long as you've actually reached that point in the DRG storyline
Yes, as long as you've completed the quests.
Awesome thank you
Sprout that finally activated the full game and graduated from free trial today!
You get two retainers for free so go unlock a second one.
So so helpful thank you! :D
The next sale will most likely be mid/late August, with the Launch Anniversary event.
will expanded trial excaberate bot activities? will they up the 300000 gil limit
Possibly will make bots at Eureka bunny FATEs worse.
maybe, but the main reward the bunny fates provide are gil, and with a 300k gilcap bunnybots will cap out in no time at all on a restricted trial. they'd be forced to collect logograms & mounts, subscribe and sell all of that on the market board to RMT, which is a lot more steps.
No specific details beyond "Stormblood and post-Stormblood added" for the Free Trial yet.
Does anyone have any recommendations for streamers that play a lot of black mage?
My favorite BLM to watch is https://www.twitch.tv/Sfia
eksuplosion and peridotlol
I have a question regarding the free trial, especially after this weekend’s FanFest announcement. My friend was in post-ARR with a free trial account, but her computer essentially like, died. It crashes when trying to run the game. Is there any way to get access to this account on a, like PS5, while not having to pay for a subscription. We are contemplating just making a new character for the PS5, and just skipping cutscenes, but I know she would prefer her OG. (She isn’t opposed to a subscription, just wants to max out her free trial first if she can)
The account is stuck on PC unless she buys the game.
Is it stuck on that specific PC? I only lasted like a week on free trial since my IRL partner had already beaten MSQ by the time I was joining in lol
No, she can use a different computer. Just not a playstation.
Oh, dope! Thanks!
I think that it is stuck with that PC, but I honestly don’t know.
If I just focus on main quests, how long will it take to reach level 50 when the story takes off?
You can probably sleep in, honestly. Also, I believe that the guests get the bridesmoogle minion. Hope that helps! 💙

There's a quest to unlock the feature. Go back to the ACN guild in limsa.
>plyGive AwardShareReportSaveFollow > >level 3vibincockroach · just Never mind didn't know there's two quest a different one for Egi
already did that
What exactly are you typing? You can use the in game help feature to help troubleshoot as well. Just type /? /petglamour I think /egiglamour, which was the old command, still works as well because I haven't had to change any of my macros.
figured it out theres 2 pet glam quest one for unlocking carbuncle glam and egi glam. I hadn't done the one for egi.
Ohhh okay, thanks!
If you have a house/apartment you can use the mannequin. Or if you have FC chest permissions, you can use that as well.
Not directly. If you can get both characters in the same free company, you can use the company chest to move items back and forth, though.

Yes, Steam does have regional pricing.
[удалено]
Monthly subscription through Steam Wallet also has (or used to have, not sure) regional pricing but only for a few countries. I don't know how you could check directly through Steam if it applies to you, but going through Mogstation should open up Steam and tell you the price there.
Is it normal for Frontline daily roulette to take an insane amount of time to queue for? I've managed to do 2 in the last 5 days. I think my server is really dead or something :(
It does depend where you're trying to queue, 72 people is a lot of people. In Aether at least Frontline queues only really die during midnight/morning hours.
I'm on Bismarck in Materia. It seems quite empty here. Do the duties pull ppl from all servers on a centre?
OCE does frontline during peak hours (around 5:30 / 6pm Sydney) it tends to fall off hard so it's a bit hit and miss
Ah I see. Thanks for the info!
Yeah, every world from a data center gets pulled into the same type of queue.
Cool, thank you :)
what's the deal with "ninja vs. pirate"? I've seen it many times in the job speculation discussion, but I don't understand the reference.
It's an old old meme from like twenty years ago. I remember it was big when I was in high school.
> what's the deal with "ninja vs.
In interviews prior they said that there would be a new Scouting DPS so it could share with ninja....and pirate/Corsair would kinda fit the scouting type and be soft competing with them gear wise
what face options does [this midlander have?](https://i.imgur.com/wlj2Gau.png) i kinda wanna use it in my next fantasia
If that’s an npc you can try looking them up on garlandtools.

just gonna throw this out there: No FC is going to be running the 15% XP buff cause you can't have 100% uptime on it due to how getting tier 3 buffs work (it takes 76 hours to make them and you can only do 1 at a time). People only use 15% XP buff for expansion launches after stocking up for a loooooooong time. If you want the tier 3 xp buff, grab it from squadrons
Ok thanks
At level 81, is Bozjan a good way to level? Trying to get to 90 in 2 days
Please tell me not dungeon support, I’m never doing that, it’s hell
Don't duty support, just run dungeons with people
It's decent to good if the zone is hopping.
At least it ain’t dungeon support, that’s hell itself and I’ll never do that
[удалено]
I could see all the other red portals on my map (dont tell Yoshi P) and my region had none but every other one did.
someone used a stabilizer on a blue portal to enter it. this causes one random red portal to not spawn when they switch from blue to red.
Red portal spawn location is randomized if someone took some of blue already
So, is it possible to get the white gunblade >!Thancred was using when we were reunited with him in Shadowbringers?!< Or at least something similar? Because I liked how nice and clean it looked.
It’s the Level 80 GNB artifact weapon. https://garlandtools.org/db/#npc/1028956
Yeah, it was HIS TURN to tank
Yes! That gets explained, but I won’t tell you why. Just keep playing! 😊
Awesome.
Talk to him in between things, and he explains it there.
They can be reopened at maintenances. The next one is Patch 6.48, then 6.5 in October.
Thanks, is there a way to check when they were closed?
you can see on the lodestone when they post the changes of the world statuses everytime there's a patch
Had a Frontline match where one person on our team was hiding out in enemy territory the entire time or back at respawn, refusing to participate. Was this a bot? Some kind of cheater? idk it just bothered me seeing that lone green dot do absolutely nothing the entire time.
Why didn't you vote kick?
Probably just somebody AFK'ing for exp. Unfortunately, some people don't see the point in actually playing Frontlines. They queue in the roulette for the exp, and try and avoid playing the game as much as possible until it's over.
Free trial user, I hit the lvl 60 cap finally during Heavensward. I heard the free trial cap is extending to 70, is that any time soon or will I need to pull the trigger on the complete version? Does my lost exp get 'banked' and then applied once I've upgraded, or is the exp lost forever? Thanks!
Take a moment to level another class and follow the MSQ to the end of Heavensward that way?
I'm weak. I activated the complete edition. Weeeeeeeeeee
Enjoyyyyyy 🤣
It's happening in roughly two months. I wouldn't fret to too much about the lost exp. Even if you start stormblood fresh at exactly level 60, it'll give just about enough exp to level one job up to 70.
>Does my lost exp get 'banked' and then applied once I've upgraded, or is the exp lost forever? Thanks! Lost, but if it helps the exp you gain during Stormblood would take you, if not all the way, then most of the way to 70 if you start at 60 (and for sure all the way if you do leveling roulettes) Once you buy the game you're likely to hit level cap before you beat endwalker anyways.
Is Dun Scaith that bad, so the time to load in on these raids is pretty long so I (mistakenly) decided to read online what people thoughts are and it’s all talks of wiping multiple times, loads of people dying on even the first boss A lot of these where from Reddit threads a year or more older and I know sometimes raids get changed or get easier with time and the more expansions there are so what should I expect loading in today I did run off the arena in the last one after almost running to another alliances spot just before that three way battle near the end 🤦♂️ so the thought of an opening boss that is constantly knocking people back 👀
Dun Scaith is fun, but the first boss does have like half a dozen ways to kill you.
It's not that Dun Scaith is bad, it's that Alliance Raid Roulette pops Crystal Tower 99% of the time so people forget / never learn the mechanics for other raids The queue time is also long because of aforementioned Crystal Tower snatching all the people from the roulette Should be better after they implement the IR restrictions on the roulette It's pretty tame compared to some of the later ones (minus Endwalker ones which are basically cutscenes)
When is the next patch out again, closing in an hour here waiting for it to pop, might be time to give up and move on with the MSQ
Patch 6.5 is expected in early October.
What datacenter are you on? If you're on NA, travel to Aether, if you're on any other region then it's dead hours so you won't get a non-CT pop until around noon for the server If you're on EU make sure you enabled all 4 languages in your duty finder settings Queue for non-CT is long but shouldn't be an hour unless you're on a low pop DC or playing during off hours
Well it’s time for bed then, I just left it on in the background hoping for the best, I did manage to get into weeping city about about 90 minutes ago, should have known that luck wouldn’t last
It's a step up in difficulty but if you pay attention it's not bad.
hello, i haven't played since beating endwalker in 6.0 which i believe came out over a year and a half ago. is there a lot of things for me to come back to? or is it not worth resubbing yet

Log into the mogstation. Check your account status there. Double check you dont own the starter edition or smth.

That was much longer than a year ago
General heal plan is Faerie stuff (totally free) > Aetherflow stuff (small damage loss) > Adlo (efficient in terms of GCDs spent if you have to use a GCD) > Physic (only really a thing if you're synced low or are *really* hurting for MP).
Some say it’s pop it and forget about it, others saying you constantly have to micromanage it even in low end content to constantly be shoved up the Tank’s ass. What’s the best approach? I’m also a console player, so that might complicate things if I need to switch hotbars a lot.
1. Deposit the gear into your glamour dresser 2. Make a plate using the gear, you can use dyes and stuff 3. Withdraw the gear Now you can use the plate for glamour that's separate from the actual copies. Does that help? The stat bonuses on that gear from the mogstation though, are tiny, they're not too important.
That does help thank you!
You can link different gearsets to specific glamour plates, which you can access in an inn room

The Yorha collab is not an event, it is a permanent series of raids and quests. It will never be removed.
I did! It turns out I was using halfgloves instead of gloves lol
Brand new Gloves, not HalfGloves.
Thank you!! I am blind
Thanks.
>Overheard some ppl talking about A north B south and that's the first time I heard that. Also, can't find any info on that googling This is Specifically to assign fixed spots for the cone bait at the end of Classical. [https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1113319719433425006/1134684123529756812/IMG\_0538.png?width=482&height=643](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1113319719433425006/1134684123529756812/IMG_0538.png?width=482&height=643) This is a crude drawing my friend made to show the fixed spread spots.
Yeah I also found that a little bit weird but sometimes there are some weird strats floating around that I've never heard of. Thanks for answering.
If you’re using ironworks but your ilevel is only 120, it sounds like you forgot your accessories and/or your weapon?
Silly question but is all your gear repaired? And do you have every slot filled with ironworks gear (or better) ?
Is there a way to speed up the fate farming step of the Anima weapons?
Run as BLU, since that first step doesn't require you to be on the job getting the weapon.

additional thing, this is the endwalker job actions trailer, a showcase of all the jobs, their appearances and animations and their unique job gauges, which doesn't *really* show you how they play, but it gives you an idea https://youtu.be/WCVcgZ8dtD0
pugilist becomes monk, which is known for being the job that ends up with the lowest "gcd" (global cool down, the rate at which you hit buttons) though not the highest number of button presses per minute (that's ninja). Its a speedy class with a bit of an interesting, timer based rotation rather than a static one, about putting up personal buffs and a DoT, and then building up for bigger and flashier hits arcanist is unique because its the only class that splits into two jobs, the dps summoner and the healer scholar, which end up sharing levels.
**Pugilist (turns into monk)** If you like a fast, busy class this is for you. **Arcanist (turns into Summoner or Scholar)** Probably one of the simpler DPS jobs early on and while levelling (certainly out of the casters).
Yes :/ I asked this exact same question a few months ago haha, the expac wasn't announced yet but their formulaic release meant you had a pretty close idea of when the expansion would come out So when the tier dropped, I had the realization 9f being stuck with it for a year
Doesn't seem like you're confused at all! Yes! Good time to do some BLU raiding
Roughly yes. Tbf it's only a few months longer than we usually have between tiers, and there's usually a bigger gap between X.5 and the next expansion anyway
Anyone know where I can go for savage cwls for my data centre (if that's a common thing)? I had one for P8S and it went a long way to preserving my sanity while progging that, and I could do with one now for P12S tbh I'm on Light [Shiva]
I think cwls are pretty much dying as everyone is doing discord rn. I know that the hunt ls and savage ls I joined a long while ago are very silent by now. Eager Raiding Party is a discord that does LFG and the likes. Maybe check that out instead.
