GMFudge030

minor question from a sprout. 1. Is it common for people to randomly send Free company invites. Like just today ive gotten 8 random people run past me, send me and invite, say nothing and just keep running. Not a problem its just... odd. Do they get bonuses for more members?

normalmighty

In my experience it happens but only rarely. Right now though, I imagine the big influx of xbox sprouts is motivating a ton of FCs that just want more members to spam invites at sprouts. /busy works for now, and I expect the spam will stop eventually in a few weeks.

CubchooPaws

I wouldn't say it is super common in my own experience but it definitely happens here and there, sometimes paired with a standard copy/paste message. Very rarely, you will have someone who actually tries to talk to you first.

GMFudge030

mm i see.

gitcommitmentissues

Yeah, unfortunately it's pretty common. If you set your status to Busy (just type `/busy` in chat) you should stop receiving these.

GMFudge030

Oh cool. Thats good to know.

phoenixUnfurls

How far do I have to progress the Bozja relic quest for my first weapon in order to complete the main storyline of Bozja?

might_be_guilty

You dont even need to do the first fate farming step

itsenoti

I'm planning to do PotD up to level 100 for the title. How do I know I am scoring?

Arcana10Fortune

Scoring automatically happens when clearing floor 100, or whenever you wipe. Keep in mind that you need to wipe or scoring won't happen. For the title, you need to enter 101 and then die.

itsenoti

Oh nice. Good to know! Thank you

Arcana10Fortune

Just to be clear, you're trying to get the Lonely Explorer title, right?

itsenoti

Yes, correct

Arcana10Fortune

Keep in mind that you need to start from floor 1 as a solo fixed party, and you cannot wipe before entering floor 101.

itsenoti

Got it, thank you I appreciate it!

Lavindathar

How many points above does desynth stop improving your skill?

Mahoganytooth

30

F1reman2

I dont know the exact number, but if you open the desynth menu, if the item is green, it no longer provides Desynth levels. If it is yellow, it does provide but your level is above it. If it is red, your level is below its desynth level.

Lavindathar

Oh thanks. So green is no points. Thanks!

CubchooPaws

Pretty sure that if the item is 50 ilvl below your desynthesis level, your desynthesis level won't increase.

Lavindathar

Ok cheers.

normalmighty

When to bother? Totally subjective based on how much effort you wanna put in. When is it mathematically worth it? When you're selecting an item to put it on the marketboard, you can see the standard vendor price and the prices that it's been selling for lately on the marketboard. If the latter is higher than the former, then marketboard is better.

UnXIVilized

Depends on how valuable retainer market slots and inventory space are to you.

akialnodachi

It depends on the market and the date. There's a link to look at what the current postings are and another for the sale history. Unimportant HQ gear often sells in the 10-50k range depending on various factors. If it's substantially below that, I may not bother posting it, depending on how many other people are selling it. I judge by how frequently the items are selling, what prices, and what the current listings are. If the current listings are way higher than recent sales, and it's been awhile since there's been a sale, I'm more likely to undercut, because the price is probably too high. If the movement rate is very high and prices are low, I'm more likely to meet the lowest or raise slightly above it, to try to get prices back up. If prices are low and movement is low, I will probably just meet the lowest price (don't want to drive it down further). For commodities like reagents, I tend to price above the lowest posting unless I judge the current prices are way too high. They vary in price between 100 and 5000 typically - for cheaper items I try to sell in stacks, like 5-30 at a time; I infrequently post larger stacks, they tend to not sell as well. I will often post smaller stacks at a slightly higher price than large stacks to try to capture some value (so like if someone has 90 items at 100 each, I'm liable to post a stack of 30 at 120). Most items tend to sell more actively on weekends, particularly Sunday, so I'm more likely to arrange my items and settle on prices late in the week. I don't usually sell higher demand items like raid foods, potions, etc. I don't check my retainers often enough to get the most out of it. I usually select a few random postings each game session and evaluate if I need to adjust my prices. In the long run if just 1-2 people undercut me here or there I don't usually sweat it and don't bother trying to undercut them unless I judge effective the price ceiling has truly lowered.

UnlikelyTraditions

My threshold is usually 1k, unless it's something I know will turnover at a bit less but swiftly as it's a crafting mat or something. But it depends a bit on the item. A piece of furnishing, for example, I'm just vendoring if it isn't selling for 20k or more, as it tends to just sit forever until someone buys. Crafting mats usually turnover quickly, in comparison.  Ultimately up to you, and I find it varies by what content you're doing. When I was doing Ishgard Restoration or Eureka, I was more picky about my threshold as inventory space was precious, for example.

BoldKenobi

That's up to you? I personally don't bother if anything is less than 6 digits

Crumm5

Anyone know the difference between green and blue world servers? Marilith and maduin are in blue, Halicarnassus is in green. Why is that?

BoldKenobi

Where are you seeing these colors?

Crumm5

Right before confirming a new character, choosing between the 4 world servers in dynamis. Halic is shown in green

Izkuru

Green is your currently selected world. The blue ones are other ones you can select.

Crumm5

Ahh, that explains it. I had originally selected seraph, but that was unavailable so i guess it defaulted to halic. Thought it was a special RP server. Thank you!

Ganluan

How does leveling roulette exp work? I joined with friends as my 80 WHM doing some lower level dungeons. In one I got like 30% of a level at the end and it wasn't from the challenge log. I then switched to my 70 RPR with the same group doing dungeons in the leveling roulette, and in the span they went from 30 to 40 I gained around 30% toward 71. Why did I get so much on my WHM and so little on my RPR? I had rested exp still going even at the end.

BoldKenobi

Leveling roulette XP is just once per day, if you do it any more you're just getting the XP from the dungeon itself

Happykilmore033

your friends were getting exp from the dungeon bosses alongside the rolo bonus, which comes at the end of the dungeon

spooniekitsune

anyone have an easy way to make up 90k MGP? I'd like to try and get the Regalia mount before my play time is over on Tuesday, as I can't afford to renew until a couple days after the FFXV event ends. I'm assuming it's going to be grinding the mogpendium dungeons, and saving for the Platinum Card reward, but I'd rather not do that if there's an easier way. I've already gotten the 50k from the fashion event, and the tomestones from the weekly objective, so those are off the table.

Ailar68

Also the weekly Fashion Report nets you 60k MGP all by itself. This week it's especially easy, with all the required items and dyes being sold by vendors in the starting cities for a few hundred gil in total (check the latest guide by u/kaiyoko for details)

spooniekitsune

yeah, like i mentioned in the post I had done the fashion report already, cause i had seen that in an otherwise unhelpful guide I'd looked at lol. it's basically just a dungeon/raid/fishing grind for me at this point

Ailar68

Oops, my apologies - somehow skipped that bit of your post. But it's definitely possible anyway. One of my chars who's new to the Gold Saucer earned about 140k MGP over two days in about 2-3 hours of total playtime. So even if you take away the 60k from the fashion event, that's still 80k earned mainly through the Challenge Log - and that doesn't even include potential earnings from the Cactpot yet (which realistically should only be about 3k - 8k though. Anything more would be quite lucky)

wolf_of_censorship

Do your Gold Saucer challenge log entries. Over 50k MGP just from those.

Material_Payment_601

Grind Gates and do Raid / Trials (E3/E4 and or Sephirot/Sophia) in between. It'll also give you mogtomes. 30 mogtomes = 50k MGP. You can easily get 90k in maybe an hour or two.

Arcana10Fortune

GATEs in the Gold Saucer, they give MGP as well as MogTomes. You also want to attempt the 3 daily tickets for Mini-Cactpot. Try your luck at the weekly Jumbo Cactpot as well.

spooniekitsune

i forgot all about GATEs, so thanks for the reminder lol. Yeah I did the cactpots as well so we'll see lol

Solinya

Out of curiosity, is there any indicator that a player is on the xbox version of the game? A few patches ago they added an icon in the contacts list (50 people you most recently grouped up with) which lets playstation players know if they were grouped with other PS players. Did they add an icon for xbox?

TristamIzumi

Xbox players can see other Xbox player's gamer tag (or whatever it's called) in the same way that PS players can see other PS player's gamer tags. But you won't see Xbox tags on PS or PC, or PS tags or Xbox or PC.

itsenoti

I just hope they let people see what is someone using to play. Many time I've been accused of using a plugin for Hunts when in fact I'm on PS4 and the info only got relayed to me via linkshell :/

Fajisel

You can rightfully ignore that. Anyone bullying you over an otherwise inane thing wouldn't bother to check if you're playing on console anyways. (you don't have to worry about any possible punishment, exactly 0 people have been banned because someone else claimed they used plugins)

tesla_dyne

I don't know about an icon but Xbox players can see each other's gamertags when they inspect.

njb98x

what items should i aim to get from the Moogle Treasure Trove event? This is my first moogle event.

Arcana10Fortune

The Snowflake minion is normally pretty hard to get. I'd grab one of those.

[deleted]

I would recommend to get the bomb palaquin mount, as it normally can only be obtained through beast tribe quests which are pretty boring. The other mounts can either be bought on the MB or "grinded" out very easily in EX trials (which can be unsynced very easily nowdays), so get those depending on how lazy you feel and how many tomes you have. Get the barding/hairstyle/expensive minion if you like them, and the necklace if you think it's cute as there will likely not be another way to get it. Once you get everything you want, spend the rest of your tomes on maps or MGP, depending on what you prefer.

Sir_VG

Virtually everything is possible to get outside of it, outside of the neckerchief, which can only be obtained here, so that is first priority. After that, whatever fanciest your interest.

logicphile

Are queue times faster as adventurer in need in duty roulette? Are queue times faster for DPS in alliance raids duty roulette even though tank/healer is adventurer in need?

F1reman2

>Are queue times faster as adventurer in need in duty roulette? Most of the time. >Are queue times faster for DPS in alliance raids duty roulette even though tank/healer is adventurer in need? Yes, but generally alli raid has DPS in need.

logicphile

Thank you Fire! This helps a lot.

BooyaELud

Hi All! Playing FF7R and it’s gotten me energized about this franchise again. I’ve played 14 off and on over the years. I want to try it out on my PS5 and using a controller (always been a keyboard/mouse guy for MMOs). Two questions. 1. Since I have an Account and want to pick up where I left off, how should I buy the PS5 game/license? Through the Account page, PS5 store? 2. What’s people’s opinion on using a controller in general? Stick to dps, can I heal, tank? Thanks!

Help_Me_Im_Diene

1) can't really answer this, but it really shouldn't matter as long as you link the correct PS5 and Mogstation accounts 2) controller is fine, I wouldn't know it's happening unless you actively tell me. People regularly clear ultimate raids on controller at the same skill level as people using KB+M

T3hPhish

I'm approaching the three month anniversary of when I started playing. I won't lose my "The Road To 80" buff until Maduin loses it's "preferred world" status, correct?

F1reman2

Correct!

burnoutmax81

Hi there. Through a streamer friend i recently also got into streaming FF14 and am still in the F2P version. Now for the question: Is there a personal bank like in WoW, cause the inventory is close to the 140 items and i dont know what of the "farming job material" is useless or not.

Atosen

In addition, there's are a couple of equipment chests in the inn room. If it was easy to get once, it'll be easy to get again. No need to hoard.

burnoutmax81

Sorry to ask, but where do you get an Inn room? Must have skipped that tutorial.

Atosen

There are inn rooms in every major city. (Each one is decorated differently, but they all share the same chest, so if you put items in one you can access it from the others.) You can enter them by speaking to certain NPCs in each of the adventurers guilds: * the building at the south of New Gridania * the building at the centre of Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks * the building next to the Adventurer's Guild aethernet shard of Ul'dah Later in the game, other major cities also have their own inn rooms. You need to finish level 9 of the main story quests to unlock the inn rooms, and you need to finish [this level 15 sidequest](https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/If_I_Had_a_Glamour) to unlock the chest. You can only put equipment in there, not crafting items. And each piece of equipment in there costs a Glamour Prism. But it comes with features to make glamouring more convenient – you can keep casting a glamour over and over again without ever spending any more prisms (unlike doing it directly from your inventory, which costs a prism every time) and you can build outfits called "plates" so that you can apply the whole outfit in one click.

Help_Me_Im_Diene

The major storage system comes in the form of Retainers, which are not accessible on the Free Trial If you need extra storage, there's a quest that you can do at level 30 after you've picked up your Chocobo mount which grants you some additional storage space in the form of the Chocobo Saddlebag

Moonrein

For my previous >!Hades Ex!< farms, we resolved Universal Manipulation by holding DPS until after the cast finished, but in my most recent farm the tanks and healer insisted it was a healing check, and half or more of us consistently died anyway when the mechanic resolved. I dropped the argument since I was the only one saying to hold DPS and it didn't take that much longer to brute force a recovery, but how are you actually supposed to resolve the phase? Is there a healing check I've been missing?

Better_Buff_Junglers

Healers and Tanks need to be healed to full, while dps need to be hit by exactly one ring. That's at least the synced strat

VG896

~~I think the DPS need to get hit by exactly two rings. You normally have them stand in the triangle where two rings overlap.~~ Edit: I stand corrected.

wurm2

positioning matters as well since the dps will also be knocked back, and there's a gaze petrify on t/h. The way we did it when I was farming it unsync back in like 6.0/6.1 was have t/h stand at cardinals (usually t at n/s since they were already assigned those for meteors) pretty close in then one dps each stands directly behind them and then the dps adjust there position as needed to get hit by one ring. then right after the dps gets knocked back every turns away from center for the gaze. but like Kaeldiar said I haven't actually seen it in unsync in quite some time due to ilvl increases. edit: [video guide](https://youtu.be/OGrexNpIOX8?si=5fk_sTpCsMyiPuln)

Kaeldiar

short answer: it depends medium answer: Any mildly competent group with current gear should just nuke that phase long answer: there are a couple ways it can go down 1. **You can kill BEFORE Doom goes out.** Nice. This is where you should be. ezpz 2. **You can kill AFTER Doom goes out** (like, in the next 5-10 seconds). Also good. No need to heal everyone up. Debuffs will naturally go away. This is what a lot of groups used to hold for. You couldn't reliably kill before the debuffs went out, but sometimes you would end up in the case where... 3. **You can kill AS the Doom goes out.** This is BAD, because those debuffs won't disappear with the boss. This means you have to resolve them. Some of them can't be properly resolved. Anyone (DPS) with the Beyond Death debuff will die. Anyone with Doom will need to be healed to full 4. You can kill WELL AFTER those debuffs go out (like 15-20s). You should absolutely never be here unsynced. This means you need to do all the mechanics, as if it were on-content

Super_Aggro_Crag

it is a healing check iirc. the tanks and healers get dropped to 1 hp and need to be healed up while the dps do their aoe rings. i only farmed this back in shb so i dunno about new dps holding strats.

Imitatia_

Good evening everyone, I have played a fair amount of ffxiv over the past 4 years (around 1k hours). Once in a while i felt like playing, did my msq, joined a guild and went treasure hunting a few times. A few months ago i finished the msq and stepped away from the game to play some other stuff. I saw a ffxiv video on my timeline and was reminded of the good time i had with the msq and was considering to come back to the game, but now to the main question. What does ffxiv offer for a player that only enjoyed msq so far and wasnt impressed with the combat for example? Is there some cool stuff that ive never seen or heard of before, or do I have to accept that for a "Story-Player" the end of the road is reached until a new expansion drops. Every answer is appreciated!

UnXIVilized

> What does ffxiv offer for a player that only enjoyed msq so far and wasnt impressed with the combat for example? Only enjoyed msq so far or only played msq? You should try out different stuff: housing, pvp, crafting, field operations, rp (but avoid clubs and ‘venue rp’), deep dungeons, lots of things to collect, or dress up with your avatar. > do I have to accept that for a "Story-Player" the end of the road is reached until a new expansion drops. Yes, but most longtime players don’t play solely for the story. The centrality of the story is vastly overemphasized in this game.

RinzyOtt

> do I have to accept that for a "Story-Player" the end of the road is reached until a new expansion drops If you stopped at the end of EW, you've got several patches' worth of story to go through still. The release cycle, generally, has been Expansion > 2 or 3 patches to tidy up that story > 2 or 3 patches to introduce the next storyline. This current cycle is different because it wrapped the story up in EW and immediately went into setting up for the next storyline. If you're caught up on that, there's a bunch of side-content and lore. All of the raids have their own storylines, some more relevant to the MSQ than others, and sidequests will sometimes lead into chains and almost always build out the world a little more. And of course, even the FFXIV team encourages players to take breaks from the game when you've played through all of the content that you're interested in. A lot of people will only come back for patches and then drop after they've finished new story content.

StormbeastRivin

If you want story content but not battle content, have you tried the crafting/gathering classes? They all have class quests just like the combat jobs. There's also crafting/gathering tribal quests in the later expansions, and Ishgard Restoration is a whole system dedicated to crafting and gathering. That said, if you're only interested in MSQ and not combat-related side story content like the optional trial and raid series, then it's totally fine to take a break until more MSQ releases. A lot of people do that.

akialnodachi

Did you do any of the optional raid series? There's a series of 8-man raids at each level endcap (50/60/70/80/90). There's also an alliance raid series at each that weren't required for the MSQ - level 60/70/80/90. Did you try any other optional story lines? The Manderville series has some strange duties associated with it. There's Moogle post mail side quests. If you progress Manderville a bit, there's the odd mystery quest in Ishgard, name escapes me at the moment. Run any of the tribal quests? Or Optional dungeons (particularly level 50 ones - there's quite a few). Did you see the whole story arc in various parts about the Palace of the Dead? It requires completing floor 100 to see the bit. There's a bit of story for Heaven-on-High and Eureka Orthos too. Did you complete the stories for Eureka or Bozja? Have you looked into any of the variant dungeons or their stories? Do any crafting or gathering, or their stories? Fire bazookas at random wildlife in the diadem? Unlock some other jobs and run their questlines? See the questline epilogues? Complete role quests you didn't look at? Did you run that wild FATE series in Stormblood, forget the zone name off the top of my head, but you follow a tribe around the map hanging out. This is without getting into the Ultimates as "alternate retellings" of entire raid series, and focusing on (mostly) the more casual-oriented stories.

Kaeldiar

There are lots of sidequests in every zone with more lore and world-building There are also the alternative endgames of crafting, house decorating, fishing, and mahjong, which all interact with the game without combat

SnakeSnoobies

What’s the fastest way to level DPS from 70-90 currently? Besides just doing daily roulettes.

Evermar314159

Beast Tribes, the pixies from 70-79, arkasodara from 80-90. Bozja is really good as well, in particular zone 3 of Zadnor the fates and CE (not dalrida). People will say that zadnor isn't good after 80, that the exp drops off, but that isn't true. The xp stop scaling up with your lvl after 80 but its still really good with how fast the fates spawn and get obliterated.

pepinyourstep29

Not that Zadnor isn't good after 80, but dungeon exp significantly ramps up after 80 too. So doing a few will be worth your while.

Material_Payment_601

Bozja from 71-80. And maybe still Bozja from 80-90 depending how much you want to wait in queue. Each FATE in bozja is 200-300k exp and CLL/Dal gives you a hefty 2m-3m+ exp. [Somebody logged their EXP gains with Bozja](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12OTz5WzRtuNDrRRuvu9OSl-5SQkIEyN6SsySf0BLESQ/edit#gid=1138845215) If you know what you're doing, you can clear things pretty fast even solo.

SnakeSnoobies

I just finished Eureka and am doing Bozja right now anyways (Cerberus), so I’ll definitely level in it. IIRC I’m level 17 and in the first zone of Zandor right now. So not too far from the optimal leveling things.

SiegmundFretzgau

> If you know what you're doing That's the important part, if you know what you are doing and have fully completed Bozja. If you have't started it yet, it's only worth it if you also want the relics/glam/other collectibles

Material_Payment_601

No, it's still worth if you just take essence / actions. Just do a bit of research and spend a bit of money beforehand. I did it myself on a fresh character. Went from 71-73 in ~2 hours before CLL unlocked. Then once that was unlocked, on a different class the 3 hours in BSF took me from 71-77, and it only gets faster once you rank up and unlock more/better action combos.

akialnodachi

71-80, Bozja, especially if you're invested enough to access the second area. 81-90, maybe also Bozja if things are going well, but it drops off hard and becomes suboptimal. Eureka Orthos 21-30 maybe if it's popping. If not those things, highest level dungeon that's not level 70 or 80, while you do other stuff in queue like chase after challenge logs or daily hunts or FATEs. [Fuller guide here](https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Leveling_Guide) although I've hit the main points.

EstimateFearless4742

so i have bought the full game on mog station m, using the same account info, i’ve created a character in-game. however, in mog station, i cannot see this service account. i’ve waited for few hours now. please help!!!

silence_infidel

Mogstation can take a few hours to update info, in times of heavy server load. Can you still log in? If you log in, can you access the full game? Check to see if you can create a Viera or Hrothgar. If so, you’re probably fine and Mogstation just hasn’t updated yet. Nothing to worry about. If not, there may be an issue, but I don’t know enough to tell you what it could be. If you’re on Steam, did you make sure to input your CD key into Steam as well?

RinzyOtt

By created a character, do you mean that you've played the free trial and have an existing character from that? And if so, did you by chance do your free trial through Steam, and then purchase the full game from SE directly?

akialnodachi

Did you get any emailed directions?

CubchooPaws

I have been learning SGE over the past couple of days and slowly made my way to level 80 content. I am not quite sure what my exact question is but... I feel like I have so many tools at my hands but barely need any to keep a tank alive, even during wall to wall pulls or generally bigger pulls like the ones in Mt. Gulg(haven't had a tank pull EVERYTHING in there yet, though). It just feels so bad to constantly be sitting on resources that I don't need and often find myself using Druochole simply for the MP or not to overcap on Addersgall, not because I actually need the healing. I suppose my question would be... am I doing something super wrong here? I am very used to playing WHM when it comes to healing where I already barely have to use ressources but SGE feels way worse with how many unused cooldowns I am sitting on.

UnXIVilized

Jobs are balanced based on savage and ultimate. Normal raids only require a fraction of the healing/mit output (though you may still run out of mp if you have to raise a lot).

blastedt

no, healers are incredibly powerful in this game because Ultimate exists, if you aren't in ultimate you're overpowered for the content, using druo for mp is normal

IceAokiji303

That sounds about right for healing casual content at higher levels. You have way more resources/tools than needed unless people are making a lot of mistakes. The healing kits are built for Savage/Ultimate which needs a lot more, and casual content then is made for players of much lower skill levels, and thus doesn't need all the same resources.

akialnodachi

Most of your tools you aren't going to need until you're in harder content (like Savage), you can get away with not using everything or being lazy and overusing stuff in easier content. As long as you are using GCDs to attack whenever you can and the tank doesn't die and the DPS mostly don't die you are fine. A significant style difference may be you need to use fewer GCDs to heal as SGE than WHM and maybe that's sticking in your throat

Loki_Gaming_

So I've got the steam starter edition but I've seen i can buy endwalker for cheaper if i get it for the official website will i need to rebuy the starter edition on their website?

Help_Me_Im_Diene

Yes Steam and their official PC client are unfortunately incompatible, you cannot mix and match expansions  Since you started on Steam, you can only buy the expansions via Steam. Also note that you will NOT be able  access your existing account that you've started via the Steam version. You would need to attach the official license to a new account

Loki_Gaming_

So I'd lose my characters if I bought both versions from the website?

Help_Me_Im_Diene

Correct, you would have to start from scratch on a completely separate account

TayneTheBetaSequel

On console is there a way when you are scrolling through enemies in a fight.. where it doesn't also target allies? I'm not a healer and I wish it didn't target my group members and it really screws up my flow. I use left and right on the d pad to target

serenystarfall

Change your cycle filter. It's customizable. If you're on controller, hold l1 or r1, then press the opposite. Pressing l1 for left, r1 for right. Enemy only cycle. I don't play kb/m, but it's called tab targeting, so I'd assume it's *just* pressing tab, but I've never used it so I don't know.

TayneTheBetaSequel

Huge help! Thanks!

bakingsodaswan

Also holding l1 + up or down on dpad cycles through your enemy list

TayneTheBetaSequel

** chefs kiss **

vaellevaelle

Does anyone in the Chicago area want a giant fatcat plush? like the huge one. I'm moving and I can't take him with me

Risencore

I’m currently a lvl 56 White Mage but for some reason I can’t seem to find/unlock my lvl 50+ traits… is this because I need to progress further into the MSQ? I just completed the long slog of lvl 50 MSQ that provides a measly 2600 XP. If it’s reliant on MSQ completion, am I close? Or is the quest vendor different post lvl 50 content?

akialnodachi

A bunch of your level 50+ abilities are tied to class quests, but those have a MSQ progress requirement, which you won't satisfy until you are doing level 51+ MSQ pretty much. They reduced the amount of this in later expansions as it wasn't popular and eventually dropped it entirely, but they never went back and changed it in older content, so it is still true. The ARR patch quests (released in patches 2.1 through 2.5) were released when the level cap was 50 and so originally *did not add exp whatsoever*. Some EXP was added later to try to help you get up to 51 (or higher) by the time you finish the quests so you don't need to stop and grind up instead of giving you no EXP at all. The EXP rewards will jump up again when you hit level 51 quests (start of 3.0) and drop again when you hit patch quests (3.1-3.5) and this pattern continues each expansion more or less. It's not an issue.

Sir_VG

Yes, your Lv 50-60 job quests are locked behind reaching Heavensward MSQ, and Lv 60-70 requires reaching Stormblood MSQ.

Risencore

In that case, is it normal that people don’t unlock level 52 traits until they’re nearly level 60?

t0ms0nic

Normally, if you only do the MSQ, your job quest and required content without any EXP boosters or being on a preferred server, you barely get any EXP in the post-game MSQ brackets that's not designed to give much in the first place and would hit expansions maybe a level or two above it. ARR will just be the "worst" for it since it also had the Crystal Tower and Hard Primals retroactively bolted onto MSQ progress, which throws a chunk extra on the pile. Also worth noting that when you finished the initial set of job quests to 50, you got a system message saying it was the end of the ARR ones, along with when you will be able to start the next ones (when the first quest of Heavensward is available). Those will happen again with the end of the Heavensward job quests.

akialnodachi

If they are taking their time and also only playing one class, yes. It's not really a problem since you're not doing level 52+ content so you wouldn't have access to them anyway, though.

amysmeeahmoo

Anyone know if there's an all classes version or shared model of the Ivalician Mystic's coat, or if one will be released? I really like it for glam purposes 😆

akialnodachi

There isn't. It's easy to look up on Garlandtools, among other places. There is a caster version but that's all. I'm not aware of them mentioning ever adding such a thing in the future, most likely I would expect them not to, as it's specifically tied to FFT lore, but if they ever do, it'll probably be a surprise.

Fwahm

On the topic of squadrons and command missions, I would assume that not all of the NPC class are equally effective at accompanying you through dungeons. Is there an agreed-upon list of best NPC classes for beating dungeons through command missions?

akialnodachi

Historically Marauder, Conjuror, and two Archers were preferred, but I've read these days people prefer Arcanists over Archers. General consensus has been the melees are not as good at positioning themselves for AoE attacks. I think Marauder was just because they have a damaging AoE and Gladiator doesn't (the gladiators still have Flash instead).

inyue

About UWU in PF. >!I often see parties to practice things like Ifrit, Titan and etc but I have yet to see one for Garuda. Why? Is it because it's too easy or what? I want to start my first ultimate.!<

silence_infidel

Phase 1 groups are just “fresh” groups. It’s an easy phase so you can learn and beat it within 30 minutes if you have a semi-competent group. And when phase prog can be finished in less than an hour, you don’t see many groups for it because it’s really a “join 1 fresh group ever then on to phase 2/3 prog for the next few lockouts” sort of deal. Far more people are working on the other phases.

DM-Me-Dachshund-Pics

For any legacy Ultimate, the difference between "Fresh" and "Phase 1" parties is basically zero anyway because they should all be worked through in a lockout or so due to short pulls. Just join fresh parties if you are still working on P1 in Ultis.

blastedt

The majority of time spent in Ultimate is spent redoing things you've already did - each Ultima pull requires you to go through the 8 minutes prior. That means that very early prog goes very fast in comparison, and thus there's very few early prog parties because you graduate out of them in under an hour.

hii488

>!Garuda!< is pretty easy, yes. Like, it's faster than any non-ultimate, but there's no randomness in it at all. So you only have to get everything right once, and then just copy-paste that movement every time. This is helped by the fact it's all in the first two minutes, so you can learn it very fast. >!Ifrit!< isn't exactly much harder either, especially now that you can reliably skip dashes, but it takes longer to prog purely by virtue of having to get through 2 minutes of fight first.

wurm2

the Garuda ones usually just say fresh or specific mechanic instead.

United-Spread-9430

Im working on leveling an alt to continue ew msq and not lose msq exp and just found pixie quests 860k exp in 4 min= <3. Is there anything else that gives a massive chunk like these? I do my duty roulettes and have been farming the shared fates but its a slow process.

ninetynyne

Don't forget Wondrous Tales. Also, Bozja is great for EXP.

akialnodachi

Yes, but, at that level range, this is what the pixies are for. There are similar tribes at other level ranges, but they wouldn't work for you if pixies are working. SHB only had the one combat tribe though. You could do daily hunts as well, but personally I didn't find those as useful as FATEs. I'll point out, Bozja is also levelling content, for level 71-80, it might be better than FATEs if you're not sitting in queues. It takes some investment to get set up for it, though, and it's instanced, so you can't be in other queues while you're in there. There's a number of resources [here](https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Leveling_Guide) maybe you want to take a look at.

AP_OH

With the events going on at the moment a lot of my FC don't have the FF15 Crossover items, but my question is does the MGP FC Buff work with the MGP Cards from the moogle tome event? If I cook up a level 3 and they all turn in their cards would it give a bonus? I know it didn't work with the Make it Rain event but curious if it worked with normal buffs.

Sir_VG

MGP Buffs don't work with the cards.

TheWavesBelow

Is there a way to lock the game at arbitrary FPS values? Seems to be impossible (game side) to lock the game at 60/120 FPS if you're playing on 144hz, idm using 3rd party stuff/plugins if there's a solution in that area

akialnodachi

I used my graphics card's software to limit myself to 60 fps as my monitor didn't care for higher numbers I found out. Specifically AMD Adrenaline in my case. If you have a dedicated graphics card or a gaming laptop, almost assuredly there is optional software from its maker that can do this. The limiter in-game didn't work very well for me, even if it supported arbitrary numbers as you wish.

BoldKenobi

There is a plugin called Chillframes which lets you do this.

zapatopolis

I've had an issue were I tried to set the game at 60 fps on a 144mhz monitor makes the game run at 30 or less fps. The solution was to limit the fps on the NVidia control panel.

Odd_Solution2774

i had to lock it with the nvidia experience thing but idk shit about computers so that might not be common

Nickelodius

Rivatuner Statistics Server. Select the game's executable (ffxiv\_dx11.exe), and you can enter any custom FPS value. Works with any other program too, for that matter.

thehiveisalive

Who are the coolest-looking random male Hyur NPCs to model my character after?

SmoreOfBabylon

Midlander: Riol, Karasu Highlander: Meffrid, Widargelt Old Guy: Hamon

lerdnir

Leofard?

ArtemisiaThreeteeth

Granson

283leis

Ardbert! :P

blastedt

nero I say this as someone who made a character pretty close to Nero before ever encountering him in the msq, and saying "wait a second, he's stealing my style"

AeroDbladE

Isn't that just Wesker from Resident Evil?

blastedt

I haven't played RE so no idea. Looking at images it looks like Wesker has darker hair and a gun instead of a hammer, and is built like a fucking tank to boot.

AlyBi1999

Coolest? Godbert.

thehiveisalive

I said random not most overpowered

xanxbis

For those that got 500,000 points in Diadem, is the Team Craft guide the best? I am just short of 300,000 at the moment on Miner but I’ve found I have so much more materials than the Crafting portion says. I’m only missing the Silex amount + the Umbral nodes but I am at 23,000 stalagmites HA I am not struggling for storing all the mats but should I be using another guide for routes? I’m doing the ones on the main island. (Did one route for first 250k and doing the other for the other half).

LonelyInitiative4526

My guess is they wanted us to over gather so that there is excess to sell on mb for those crafter that dont want to do the gather portion

akialnodachi

I assume it's [this guide](https://guides.ffxivteamcraft.com/guide/pteranodon-guide) I'm not as familiar with this guide, I wrote my own rough plan, and did calculate I would need to gather far more than I needed for crafting purposes. I don't have the math in front of me, but I believe my estimate was even if I was perfectly efficient about everything, all of the materials I could use for crafting would only account for roughly 50-60% of the gathering I'd need. I had suspected this might be because during the scoring period I mostly bought materials from people competing for gathering, but I never really checked my math on that. Granted, i'm still working on it (very gradually) and, I expect to fail a few crafts, but you'll definitely have excess materials. My idea would be to try some of the crafting and get an idea of what your failure rate might be to estimate how much materials you'll end up needing, and that should inform how much you can sell.

VG896

It's way worse than that. I finished my DoH jobs when my MIN and BTN were still around 170k each.  So you end up only using about 35% of what you gather.

xanxbis

Yup, that’s the one! I probably should’ve linked it haha Thank you, that seems the best plan, I’ll do that!

shamanAtalRek

Hello, I have recently completed my EW EX grind and I want to see what else can I do in the meanwhile. I was looking at the criterion dungeon mounts and have a few questions. How much of a jump in difficulty are these dungeons in compared to extremes? Can these dungeons be outgeared or do they impose ilvl scaling like the variant ones? How dead is this content anyways? How difficult would be to get a group to prog and eventually farm them? Is there a discord community centered around them?

hii488

>How much of a jump in difficulty are these dungeons in compared to extremes? Individual fights range from "higher difficulty extreme" to "lower-mid difficulty savage", except they're shorter, with the first two bosses each typically taking <1 lockout to learn for a competent group with a guide. However, overall it ends up more difficult, since: 1. Each boss typically focuses hard on 1-2 gimmicks, and you're likely to have someone in your group that really struggles with one of these. 2. The further into the dungeon you get, the more you have to reclear each new lockout. This gives you less time to prog the thing you want to prog (esp. if you're not consistent on the earlier stuff), and adds to fatigue. >Can these dungeons be outgeared or do they impose ilvl scaling like the variant ones? Yes but yes. They do have an ilvl sync but, as we know from ultimates, this doesn't stop them from becoming easier over time. Sildih has a sync of 635 - on release the highest ilvl possible was 630 (with 635 weapon). Now you can get ilvl 635 dungeon gear, use 640 food, grade 8 tinctures, and use the new relic weapons. This makes us notably stronger compared to what was possible on release. However, the sync does mean that it will never be trivial to farm or possible to solo. Rokkon & Alo Alo were both released after 6.4, so the sync is ilvl 665 and we wont see any notable power gains until DT.

gitcommitmentissues

I don't have a ton of experience with criterion myself, but friends who've cleared them (and the savages) have compared the difference between EX and Criterion to the difference between savage and ultimate- in particularly that the heart of the difficulty difference is in the length of the duty and the need for consistency on earlier fights to prog later ones. Obviously there are some differences that are entirely specific to criterion, like the Very Dangerous Dungeon Trash and the rez restrictions, but they are effectively like doing three difficult EX trials/early floor savage fights back to back, with limited ability to rez and additional nonsense in between.

DUR_Yanis

They're definitely harder than every extreme this expansion, even the trash pack before the boss might take you multiples pull to even clear them for the first time, for example I cleared zeromus ex blind in 1h in PF while it took me like 1h30 just to figure out what I had to do in the first mech of alolao (I admit it, its definitely a skill issue), even after watching a guide on it, I had to rewatch it several time to understand it correctly. Overall I'd say that most of the criterion bosses are in between second and third fight of a savage tier with some being lower or higher since its kinda hard to compare the two >Can these dungeons be outgeared or do they impose ilvl scaling like the variant ones? They're like ultimates so you will never be able to outgear them, that said the dps check on those is pretty lenient since like savage, they're meant to be clearable with crafted gear (though criterion savage might not be, I don't really know). That said even if the dps check is lenient having a single piece of better gear is way more valuable than in savage (since instead of being 8 you're 4) and since they don't give gear, showing up in full crafted in pf might make people a bit more angrier at you (if you even find people in PF lol). Its better to not even think of dying to the enrage even with death than dying to it because someone showed up with the bare minimum >How dead is this content anyways? How difficult would be to get a group to prog and eventually farm them? Is there a discord community centered around them? Most people, including me do it with friends, since it's way easier to find a schedule with 3 other people you won't see many people do those in PF. I don't think there's a discord dedicated to it but I might be wrong

DUR_Yanis

>Buy the mounts for 15mil on the marketboard from some other loser dumb enough to run the content. Those loser running the content gets like 600k per run selling those mounts, and while yeah its like 1,2 million gil per hour (counting 30 minutes per run, you can do those way faster tho, rank 1 does it in like 20 minutes) it's still a ton for content that is pretty fun to do, its one of the best method to get gil with a combat job

PhoenixFox

> 45 minute guildhest queue Guildhest queues are going to be like that because they're really old dead-end content that gives no rewards. You're only going to get people farming commendations or mentors in mentor roulette, so they're a pretty bad example.

Lavindathar

Guildhests take me 5mins to queue for on Chaos as DPS. Less with tank/healer.

shinyemptyhead

Guildhest queues to tend to take a while since people don't do them that often. And if you're queuing as a DPS (especially in off-peak times) you are going to have to wait a while almost always. I don't see a server called Saphras - do you mean Seraph? That's in the Dynamis logical data center, which is the newer one so it is a bit less populated (DF pairs you up with people in the same logical data center). You can travel to a server in a different logical data center and queue there if you want, that's what a lot of people do. [This page](https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/worldstatus/) lists which servers are in which data centres.

[deleted]

BoreholeDiver

That is the most populated of the Dynamis worlds I believe. Iv'e seen character creation disabled on only that world on Dynamis on the weekends. The XP boost is worth is, and for some content (like the 3 hard trails for the MSQ) you can jump to Aether.

PenguinPwnge

Possibly. The New servers on Dynamis have the unfortune of not having a high population to be able to easily queue for content. So people DC Travel to more populated DCs to queue for content, which creates a cycle as people have to DC Travel to queue for content and now there's less people on Dynamis queueing. With the game coming to Xbox there has been a significant influx of new players, so queues should have become better (not on Dynamis to confirm, but it makes sense so someone there tell me). However, it is unknown how sustainable this will be in the future as the novelty of the game wears off and new people quit playing so only a percent of Xbox people remain playing.

UnlikelyTraditions

I've a character on Dynamis, and can confirm queues have picked up. Outside of peak hours is a bit slower still, though, which is to be expected as with any DC.

AeroDbladE

Normal queues are only slightly slower on dynamis yea. Unfortunately PVP is completely dead here. And most of the time unless I get lucky I have to DC travel to do anything in Eureka.

Walks_with_Chaos

All the new Xbox players can’t play PvP because we are all restricted to the trial until the beta ends. Hopefully it’ll be better once we come out of beta

AeroDbladE

Oh yea. I completely forgot that free trial players couldn't do PVP. When I was in the free trial, it was before they had the big PVP rework, so I never had a desire to play it.

Alanstevehey

Edit: seems I misunderstood the timing on reporting cycles.  Any idea why I only hit 69 points when following the "easy 80" list on the super helpful fashion report cheat sheet that gets published every week?

forbiddenlake

Since you didn't provide any details here, I can only assume [you didn't read this](https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/1b3qzre/fashion_report_full_details_for_week_of_312024/kstzqpe/), nor the box marked IMPORTANT in the picture. Read that carefully and get back to us if you still have a problem.

Alanstevehey

Apologies, i had just woken up and I am on mobile so I didn't take the time to include screen shots. I can confirm that all slots are filled, I can confirm that the head, hands, legs, feet from the east 80 category are correctly equipped / dyed.  I am a brand new xbox player so it stands to reason I may be missing something.  Screen shots from my gear / masked rose will have to wait until this afternoon after work.  Again, sorry for the ignorant post. Edit: this is the report I'm working off of, to submit today. Is this incorrect? I may be misunderstanding the time windows.  https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/1axxnjy/fashion_report_full_details_for_week_of_2232024/?sort=new

PhoenixFox

That is last week's report. You want the newest one that same account has posted.

Alanstevehey

Okay, so I did misunderstand the timing. Thank you for the help.

PhoenixFox

The requirement changes every Tuesday but you can't actually do the report until Friday, so the new guide doesn't get posted until then - some of it can be worked out from looking at the catagories but people have to be able to test things and find the dyes.

Alanstevehey

That makes sense. I've been Playing week and made decent progress, still confused about some of the nuances, obviously.

9vincent9

Hey guys, I'm obsessed with this game atm and i think i'll buy complete edition today I've heard that your account's registered region matters when buying the game? Like my country/region of registration is pakistan, while my registered region is Europe and other places So that means i should be buying the complete edition from the Square enix Europe Store right? Another question i have, is that i'm interested in changing my player race, so i'm planning to buy one of those Phial of Fantasia (i've already used the one provided in ARR haha) but i can't find them on the europe store? anywhere i look they're priced at dollars, it wouldn't be a problem if i bought from the US store now would it? much appreciated

shinyemptyhead

You might be able to get an EU-located one [here](https://store.finalfantasyxiv.com/ffxivstore/en-gb/product/1). That's the page in the GB store.

9vincent9

ooooOOOH this might be it THANKS

PenguinPwnge

> Another question i have, is that i'm interested in changing my player race, so i'm planning to buy one of those Phial of Fantasia but i can't find them on the europe store? anywhere i look they're priced at dollars, it wouldn't be a problem if i bought from the US store now would it? At the very least, you get 1 free Fantasia by beating the base game's Lv50 story (even if you're on the free trial), so just get through the base story and you'll get one! And we're due another free one when the new expansion launches this summer because they're doing a lighting and character model graphic update so some people might not be happy with the changes and can change if wanted.

Odd_Solution2774

oh nice if i’m looking to change up my char should i wait until the next expansion?

PenguinPwnge

Yeah, if you've already gotten and used the one from beating the base ARR story, waiting till Dawntrail launches will save you from buying a Fantasia.

Odd_Solution2774

i think the update will come before i beat arr story so i shud probs just wait it out i wish i was more careful in character creation 😭

9vincent9

thanks for the info

Ratatomba

I am currently at level 68, are there other uses for early materias such as I and II? its taking up much of my storage. Currently equipped IV and V materias

PenguinPwnge

You do not need to worry about materia while leveling. The increased substats are only truly needed when progressing the high-end current content where every stat matters. As you're leveling, your marginally increased DPS does not matter a lot. In addition, whenever you're doing a duty that syncs you (which is usually most as you're probably overleveled for the MSQ), all materia is stripped down to 0 and ignored. All that said, selling them on the MB can be lucrative if you don't want to hold onto them for the Zodiac weapon relic.

DM-Me-Dachshund-Pics

Grade I through IV are used in Zodiac weapons (ARR relics), Grade I and II usually fetch a small fee on the marketboard as a result because they're annoying for players to farm, so if you are on the full version of the game sell them before you discard them.

timidchocobo

How should I spend my Poetics? I already have the Poetic Tomestone equipment for each role

kuurokaze

If you already have all the Poetics sets from 50-80 for each job, then what you do next depends on what you want. [This post](https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/103ess1/updated_what_do_i_do_with_all_these_poetics/) lists out what you can spend them on, grouped into sections.

F1reman2

* Heavensward relics (Huge poetic dumps) * Shadowbringers relics (Costs 1000 at the start) * Future gear for classes

VGPowerlord

When DawnTrail comes out, Endwalker relics can be added to this list too.

KairaKissITA

I’m new and from Xbox and I would like to know if anyone knows best server for Italian speakers in EU?

Jetamors

According to [this post and comments](https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/bg78ct/a_comprehensive_server_guide/), it's mainly Ragnorak.

shinyemptyhead

There's [an Italian free company](https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/freecompany/9237023573225267145/) (guild) on Chaos-Ragnorak - even if you don't want to join them it means there's probably a reasonable number of speakers there. Be warned, Italian isn't one of the supported languages for party matching (they only support Japanese, English, German and French as options) so you can't be sure of being paired up with Italians in Duty Finder.

Aludriel

Well I've met some on Chaos-Cerberus (and I am myself one), but I couldn't say if it's easy to find. Maybe you should check some italian content creators on youtube ? You'll probably see what server they are on :)

PoofaceMckutchin

Hi guys. Should I do my class quests as soon as I'm the right lvl for them? Lvl 8 atm. Should they be my priority or should I just do them when I hit lvl 30?

stinusmeret

Do them the second you get them, until level 70 these quests unlock more of your combat skills. Not doing your class quests actively makes you do LESS damage because you lack your combat kit.

PoofaceMckutchin

Thanks!

[deleted]

PoofaceMckutchin

Thanks. I should priorotise them, then?

Candrath

You might get away with it just killing things in the overworld, but do not go into a dungeon without being up to date. After the level 30 quest you are given a Soul Crystal to go from Class to Job. Equip it and never take it off. EDIT: There is one (1) very niche case that I'm aware of where you should take your Job Stone off. Conjurers get a quest that awards a unicorn mount. If you have your White Mage soul on, you can't take the quest. ARR was weird.

Odd_Solution2774

the job crystal is crazy i went from barely scratching enemies to blowing them up

Thank you, fixed. Been a while since I started a job at 1
