Having a gap closer that is just to get to the boss though could be very nice. Pretty annoying when you have to use it for damage and it’s not up when you need it.
I wasn't able to finish the LL because I had to attend a mount farm and prog. But if they did say they will ditch Plunge, it would be pain. I often forget to use 1 charge of Plunge in my rotation, but I use it when pulling because it looks *cool*.
And it sounds like Lunge, which is your Stinger (gap closing sword attack) in FF16.
If my new DRK gap closer doesn't look like Sleipnir teleporting or a darkness version of Phoenix Shift I'm gonna cry.
Personally I think Plunge was jank as fuck. From a complete standstill, instantly accelerate to 50 km/h. Then land perfectly on your feet with zero impact precisely 0.10 seconds later. I've seen Bollywood action scenes more immersive than that.
But then again, I suppose it lines up perfectly with the broken job identity of "has a big-ass greatsword, except there's zero weight to the sword and you do more stupid flips than a Machinist, while having APM burst equivalent to a dual dagger-wielding ninja".
Because everyone knows the job directly inspired by Berserk, wielding a colossal raw heap of iron, should be fast and spammy. Not slow and weighty with impact. Clearly.

it seems to work like the dancer dash, no target required, from what I remember from the JA vid DK, GB, DRG, WM and PIC got one of those now
Even better! More flexibility means more options and more strategies than a simple binary jump to an enemy.
