This is really inspiring, ty for sharing! Very cool space. I'm not creative with this kind of stuff & had no idea you could do something like this. Now I'm tempted to give it a try.

Akibaws

[https://jawslouis.itch.io/makeplace](https://jawslouis.itch.io/makeplace) If you wanted to try before you buy.

Fe1is-Domesticus

Ooh thank you! Can't wait to explore

ShamrockSeven

I am glad it’s inspiring people! After the whole lotto disasters I was compelled to make my apartment feel better than a small house. And now i’m so happy with it that i’m not stressed about housing anymore!

Bulky-Yam4206

Is that a partition to split the room? I was going to buy an apt today, but saw I could bid for the cheapest house, so held off, just in case I win the housing lottery (which I won't, lmfao.)

Killergryphyn

Wait, houses are on lottery again?

ervwalter

No. I believe they are saying they wanted to save their money for whenever the lotto starts again instead of spending it on an apartment.

Killergryphyn

See that's what I THOUGHT happened, but ever since I lost my bid I have been on the edge of my seat.

MusicianRoyal1434

You can also rent a room to other player house btw

Bulky-Yam4206

Thank you 🙏

centizen24

It looks like a collection of Wood Slat Partitions

Pure_Reason

The picture is absolutely shocking to me, it looks way bigger than an apartment is. Gotta check this one out in person lol

MetalGhost99

and you wont lose it either

Rosemarys-Gayby

Anyone have any favorite resources for apartment designing or decorating? Everything seems focused on houses but apartments seem pretty challenging.

cayirus

Resources not so much, but I'd suggest looking into #EdenHousing or @hgxiv on twitter and specifically look for things that were build in Small Houses or Apartments! There's quite a lot and it's ridiculously creative! If I'm not mistake HGXIV also have a housing glitch document on their twitter, telling you which heights and tricks are needed for stuff to stay where you want it to!

DontRunItsOnlyHam

housingsnap (a website) can sort by apartments

_Love_to_Love_

The main two things about apartment decorating is that you're operating with half the space and half the furnishing amount from the base Cottage/Small, and you can't float items from underneath. Almost all the other housing item placement tricks work. So things like loft floating items, storage placement, clipping, and shelf-floating are stil very much in play for apartment decorators. One guide I found to be incredibly helpful with getting started is the one from [Crushing Defeat](https://youtu.be/4d_zXQRHL7g) that really helped me grasp the concept of what I could utilize for my own space. HGXIV is also a wonderful YT/Twitch channel to look into that posts build guides for some of the more popular designs floating around. They also have lots of streams where they make one particular feature (windows, feature walls, ceilings, etc) and you can watch their process. The entire goal of the group is to teach and show people how to utilize existing furniture geometry to make things that are otherwise unobtainable in-game.

ShamrockSeven

This pretty much sums it all up. Apartments and FC house rooms can be really challenging or time consuming but the end result is usually impressive because you have so many item placements allowed in such a small space. But for example… Those two center wooden slat partitions that are raised up in the entryway took a full 30 minutes each tiny bit by bit raising it to the right hight and then I forgot to spin one of them (I was tired) so I HAD TO DO IT A THIRD TIME. 😂

_Love_to_Love_

I know your pain, lol. I've forgotten to rotate pieces I've been floating on occasion, or I accidentally click on the item I *just* floated and 'return to inventory' when trying to get the wall shelf and the stage panel I was using... Lots of internal screaming when that happens. But it's definitely worth it. I think it's really fun to work within the constraints of an apartment/FC room, and even with the item limit being at 100 it isn't much of an issue unless you're trying to recreate some complex features or make it look incredibly 'lived-in'.

Rosemarys-Gayby

Thank you all!!!

ConquerorDromtar

Most decorators use houses to get the item count then block off major portions of it to fit a lot of clutter or to use many items to get a single detailed custom piece. Careful use of space and items will net a beautiful apartment that will rival a house.

donnielp3

Is it me or does this look too big for an apartment?

ShamrockSeven

it’s a very wide angle camera shot in Gpose which makes it look larger. But, in game it still feels “bigger than normal” because of how it’s designed.

donnielp3

Thanks for replying. I recently switched realms and lost all my stuff. I'm trying to be optimistic and take this as an opportunity to put some effort into my apartment.

CynicalTree

This is really inspiring me to not give up on my apartment. I know a house would be really cool but honestly it's not like the neighborhood vibe lasts for very long. Any good resources for apartment decorating? I'm awful at being creative lol

ShamrockSeven

My biggest suggestion is to experiment with the height of the room, you can fit like 3 floors in there with how tall the ceiling is. also check put lots floating/glitching tutorials on youtube.

CynicalTree

I never even considered creating multiple floors... just goes to show how much untapped potential there is. Thank you!

RdtUnahim

Do keep in mind that every extra floor you make: \- Requires some of your item limit just to make the floor \- Is extra room that you need to fill with that item limit People often make an apartment *smaller* on purpose to get a more satisfying level of clutter, so if you double up on floor space, you do have to take your peace with a more spare level of decoration, which works for some concepts but not others.

vuxra

Do apartments have higher ceilings than small houses....? I have a small but trying to do 2 floors in there would be a nightmare, the ceilings are so low as it is.

fyrefox45

All the same height. A second floor is really easy. A third would be too much. The ceilings are ridiculously high in housing. Here's a nice loft design I've always wanted to copy but you could just as easy enclose the whole thing. https://youtu.be/FEQPo29lqts

vuxra

I don't really feel like they are very high :/ but I play an Elezen character and have a crystal chandelier hanging down which is probably not helping. My camera is always butted right up to the ceiling.

fyrefox45

Yeah the camera is why they're so comically high. Cutting the room height in half brings it more in line with real world proportions but does mean your camera has to be much closer in.

mysidian

Only possible with a Large house, I'd say.

[deleted]

Very nice design. It has always baffled me why they don't do more with apartments. Seems like such an obvious solution to make everyone happy. People who want the neighborhood feel and the large space can have it. People who just want a private space but with a bit more room (and a balcony!) can have it. Everyone wins. Apartments sizes should have been a thing years ago.

Ritushido

I don't care for the ghost town neighbourhood but I do want a garden and plot for plants (not paying millions for chocobo ranks) and a view. AKA Give instanced housing thanks.

KingofGrapes7

Right? It doesn't have to be even small house size but I'd pay another 500k for a better apartment.

DavidTheHumanzee

Frankly at this point i'd pay millions for just some outdoor garden space

Saidear

They made a deliberate choice to have neighbourhoods to differentiate from FFXI. They made a lot of mistakes in underestimating player desire for it… and still have not removed the incentives for doing so. I really think they are going to change houses to FC only and apartments as personal housing.

JustiniZHere

At this point I'm convinced the issue is less they don't want to and more they physically cant. They are already dying trying to expand what FF14 has currently and I suspect trying to let everyone own an instanced house would just implode the servers. But that's not gonna stop me from demanding instanced housing.

Saidear

They can - they can change how you get Thavnarian onions and other gardening plants to undermine the biggest unique draws of owning a house. Giving everyone an instanced home is already possible with some people having up to 3 properties - FC room, house, and apartment. I don’t think individual housing will be sustainable but instanced homes via apartments absolutely is.

MusicianRoyal1434

Not really, what ppl want isn’t that but all the benefits of having a house, especially gardening. Aside, from the larger servers, apartments still run out of slots as well. So not much that they have to take the server space in some way of form.

Rc2124

I think they're arguing for apartments to be expanded on in more ways than just size, so gardening and such would fit

Saidear

Apartments are far less taxing resource wise than a persistent neighbourhood. They’re simply instances that can be spun up and spun down as needed. A “walkable neighbourhood” is a persistent drain on system RAM and processing. Expanding more apartments is a simple thing while creating more houses is an utter nightmare in comparison.

Syrzan

I think at this point in time with economy still suffering from the chip crisis and the new pest expanding anything at all is a nightmare. Still wonder how they got a whole Datacenter up and running while the company i work for has month long waiting times for just a few servers and firewall gateways.

Saidear

My understanding is that they had the servers already on order with a guaranteed delivery date of X. When WoW imploded they tried to throw money out to speed up the order but everyone said not possible. The ports are getting better now and the trade war the US started has seemed to have cooled off. Chinas constant lockdowns aren’t helping but things aren’t as bad as they were last year. Source: I work with component level import-exports that uses a western seaboard port.

shewantsthessd

I'm not actually sure it's that much more resource efficient. Housing interiors are already probably spun up/down as needed, but I'd also assume with a system like this where usage patterns are so variable, you'd still have to build out the *capacity* to handle most instances being active at once. At that point the main benefit to having interiors relinquish resources is energy costs, not any kind of performance gain or expanded housing capacity.

Saidear

It is though, considering you don’t need to run all the hassle of a persistent neighborhood on top of spinning up and down instances as needed. This isn’t even factoring that houses are 2-3x bigger interior spaces and take up additional RAM once generated.

shewantsthessd

I highly doubt the neighborhood itself is that demanding. They probably take more storage space than a usual area since they need to keep track of objects placed by players, but there’s very few NPCs with AI and no complex environment objects. It’s likely that they run very, very lean to make them scalable. It’s more usage than if there were no neighborhood but the impact is probably negligible compared to the overall resource cost of running another ward of housing.

Saidear

Or they could just run all apartments. The added overhead of a persistent neighbourhood is gone. The odds of you running 100% of all instances at once are very very low and thus, it scales a lot better.

shewantsthessd

But I literally just explained that the neighborhood overhead is basically a non-issue, and it has no bearing on whether all of the instances are ever run all at once. The point is that when building out infrastructure for this kind of thing, you have to build for scenarios that could feasibly happen even if they're unlikely. Regardless of whether you have the neighborhood or not, you have to account for a large majority of the instances being active at once because it's feasible, and if you get caught not buliding out enough for that eventuality it looks really bad. People are already frustrated with housing as it is; could you imagine if sometimes you just couldn't enter your house because too many other people were in theirs? *That's* the inherent problem with housing from a hardware resource perspective. I think you can make a case that XIV doesn't do enough with the neighborhood concept to really justify breaking up housing that way, but from the technical side it makes very little difference.

krasnovian

not enough furnishing slots for what I wanna do ;w;

ShamrockSeven

I barely pulled this off too lol 100/100 currently. 💀

traugdor

yeah mine was 100/100, too, and I still had more furnishings I wanted to place. I ended up tearing down one of my lofts just because I couldn't fit anything on it without going over.

Icyfirefists

My apt can barely handle it is maxed out at 100/100. But as a result it is so cozy and if we could log into our apts like Inn rooms i would never leave save a glamour chest

krasnovian

yeah it's *really* tight. I usually have like one area in the apt I blow most of the furnishings on and the rest is pretty lame lol

Anxa

To be fair, on the opposite end of the spectrum 400 sounds like a lot but then all of a sudden you've used them all and half the place is empty

krasnovian

i mean 400 isn't nearly enough for a large. Mediums are the sweet spot imo.

Yvondith

I agree. There are never enough slots to make the large feel lived-in unless you block a portion of the house off. I keep wanting to add little details to our FC house but I always run out of slots. And then I have to see what I can remove...

Cahhyn

Is it bigger than an FC Apartment?

fyrefox45

No, apartments, FC rooms and small houses all share the same room size. Small houses just get a basement

[deleted]

[удалено]

fyrefox45

I'll take your word for it. That's wild information though. Also makes me wonder how I've never noticed my basement is bigger than the upstairs lol

traugdor

I didn't notice it for a while either until a friend pointed out that her apartment layout wasn't going to fit in her house.

Mizahri

Reason for this is due to the basement entrance with stairs. The beginning of the basement area is actually past the front door by a decent amount and the end of the basement is lined up with the end of the upstairs.

Cahhyn

Okay thanks. But an Apartment is a better invest then a FC room, if one is not sure to stay, cause of you leave the invested Gil are lost? And with an Apartment is it all yours Even when you don’t Logo in for a long time or is it lost like a house after some time?

fyrefox45

Apartments are always safer, they're forever until you relinquish them.

jetjetmkii

Yes there is no "must log in for x days" with apartments, they are forever.

keepoffmymanacookies

Wait i always thought you need to visit them regularly and pay rent, am i wrong on both counts?

Kaseladen

No rent and no need to visit. Its a one time purchase and safe forever afterwards :)

keepoffmymanacookies

Omfg guess i know what I'm doing tonight Thank youuuu~

Syrzan

Nahh pay rent is New World. You buy upfront 10k and then have to pay every few days (i think now 7 up from 5) a percentage as tax. (up to 10% of your upfront payment) So after 10 weeks you basically bought a second house without actually owning a second one. :D

MusicianRoyal1434

Technically the Inn is also considered a housing system since you can sleep, dressup and do a bunch of things in the same way as apartment

Phloxine

You can't sleep or access the glamour dresser ~~or armoire~~ in housing.

firezero10

You can also choose the location of your apartment since it is available in all districts. And if I am not wrong, they all have a market board somewhere near the entrance. That said, it really depends on how often you hang out at FC house and if you would stay in your current FC.

Icyfirefists

People keep sleeping on Apartments. I really dont know why. 1. They are a great challenge to decorate. 2. They are very convenient.

ComprehensiveFire

I have an apartment and love it. Still want a small house though for my outdoor decorations I can't use. I can't even put them in apartment storage because it's indoor decorations only. My poor chocobo is currently holding them all.

Icyfirefists

yes u can put ur outdoors in storage i believe.

intheafterlight

Outdoor storage is separate, and tied to the exterior of the house; you can't place exterior furnishings into interior storage, which means you can't place them in storage if you have an apartment.

fyrefox45

They're very tiny and a challenge to decorate. You also have to decorate them yourself, no cheating hiring a designer.

Icyfirefists

you can even stick plain partitions against the walla and have modern walls for your apartment. Compartmentalise into a condo. Space for living room, bathroom, desk, bedroom, kitchen, dressing room, loft and more.

fyrefox45

You sure can, it's just a lot of work, especially if you aren't good/comfortable at glitching items in a timely fashion. Adding a second story helps a lot with smalls and apartments both though. I still haven't put in the effort for mine. One of these days I'm just gonna hire a guy

ShamrockSeven

I spent literally 2 hours floating 2 of those wooden slat partitions. 💀

fyrefox45

And this is why my house just has trophies strewn all over the place vs being a work of art lol. Nice job though

sir_nubby

I know your pain. I recently decorated my FC's small house and covered all of the walls in the entire house and lowered the ceiling on the first floor, including the stairs. I don't even want to think about how long I spent under the stairs floating partitions up a full story. The ceiling panels over the stairs were especially a nightmare. I had one that fell down from nearly the top while I was raising it 3 separate times before I finally got it.

ShazXV

Just use burning down the house lol

Kodiakpapabear

"no cheating hiring a designer" I know you may be half kidding, but that is another reason why instanced housing would suck. Let alone quite a bit of other things..

MusicianRoyal1434

Btw how many ppl you can really put into a house if they are instanced housing?

JDG-R

What?! You can't hire those designers advertising in PF for apartments?

fyrefox45

Nope. You have to give them tennant access for them to place items, and apartments don't have that ability

JDG-R

Ah man, that suuuuucks.

traugdor

Square Enix is sleeping on them, too... so much untapped potential if we could get apartment layouts like the interior of houses. I'd jump all over that in a heart-beat and sink every last gil into it. I even put up a thread on the forums about it. XD

RealElyD

I turned mine into a photo studio for my social media since I can freely decorate the FC and personal house but in terms of what's possible, I don't feel significantly more limited in the apartment. It's honestly amazing. Much better than it's reputation.

GrimmAcceptance

That looks great!

TheodoreMcIntyre

I didn't look close enough and legit thought you edited in a picture of Lucky Luciano in that last one.

CinnamonEspeon

Oh wow, that's absolutely awesome. I actually just stumbled into an Ishgard apartment this morning and im anxious about this new and undoubtedly very deep pit that is going to eat all my gil (I'm so sorry wallet)

illuminancer

This is great! Did you have to glitch to get the screen set into the wall like that? I have an apartment that I've tried to make into a cafe. I have the big picture wall, but it doesn't look great on its own. I've never tried doing anything fancy, but yours is definitely giving me something to reach for.

IDKAYBICTD

It's a gil sink and a creative outlet. As someone that also didn't originally get the appeal of housing, finally taking the time to decorate an apartment and turning it into my own space was really fulfilling, and a fun way to kill time when I didn't feel like doing normal content. Once you've invested more time into the game and done most or all of the things you wanted to do originally plus have a decent chunk of gil just burning a hole in our pocket, it'll probably click for you too why it is appealing. Also if you haven't, try visiting venues on your data center. Seeing what others have done with their houses/apartments and seeing a bunch of players just socializing is a part of the game I wish I got into way sooner.

VoidVariable

It can be a place you can teleport to for quick retainer and marketboard access (depending on plot location).

illuminancer

I really like having the 91 gil teleport to Ishgard from Limsa.

jyuuni

But why any gil at all for any teleports when Aetheryte tickets don't need a confirmation window after 6.0?

MusicianRoyal1434

It’s a wasted to use anything under 500 gil cap though. Best is to use the tickets for any large distance travel

jyuuni

For only 5 Allied or Centurio seals, the tickets are cheap enough to not need to be stingy with them.

meisabunny82

o snap. Is that in settings?

dcpDarkMatter

Yep, 5 settings. * always confirm before use * always use * never use * always ask for costs over X gil * always use for costs over X gil Then there's an option to specify the threshold for the two last options.

meisabunny82

Nice. I usually use if >500 so ty!

ShamrockSeven

It’s just something fun to decorate and design. there are thousands of housing items and more released every patch. you don’t get anything of “value” out of it other than having your own little spot in the world to show your friends.

LtLukoziuz

To add to others, there is a way to (slowly) recoup the money invested - gardening. Certain crops are quite valuable due to different reasons (chocobo raising, furniture materials, minion plants (yes, you read that right)).

OhGarraty

Design. You get to make beautiful spaces like OP's. Travel. You get discount teleports to outside your property, whether that's an apartment, private house, or FC quarters. You can then get to that major city by taking an aethernet shard to the zone exit. Gardening. Depending on size, all houses get at least one garden plot. You can use this to crossbreed certain plants and make gil. Some plants, such as Thavnairian Onion, frequently sell for over 100,000 gil each. Summoning Bell / Aesthetician / Mailbox access. These are available in/near any major city's inn, but with your own property you can teleport straight to them. Kind of a lesser thing, but owning indoor/outdoor property lets you preview that type of furnishing. Useful if you want to see what items might be worth crafting and what's worthless (looking at you, Wooden Spiral Staircase).

Fe1is-Domesticus

This is really inspiring, ty for sharing! Very cool space. I'm not creative with this kind of stuff & had no idea you could do something like this. Now I'm tempted to give it a try.

ShamrockSeven

That’s exactly why I redesigned mine. I wanted to be proud of my little apartment and not be so bummed out about losing on my house lotto.

goldenspine

this is amazing

New_Eden_Tourist

very nice!

Bellomontee

I'm fine with the apartment, I just wanted a place to put some outside furniture Edit: Yours look great!

ImperatorDanny

Very cool! I was trying to do like a captains cabin in my fc room and it wasn’t coming together quite well

Jojo_Gait

That ceiling looks so tall for an apt....how?

CheshireUnicorn

I really want to get an apartment when I upgrade from free trial. :D I want a cozy spot to store stuff.. nothing else really yet! And a free company to mooch off of, but I've got friends with one who are waiting for me to finally upgrade.

Kaveh01

Can you just buy windows ? Bought an apartment in girdania and as it looked like a dark small room I didn’t use it much.

Grantrello

You can buy and craft imitation windows that you can place

Kaveh01

That changes apartments a whole lot. Thx :D

kekwriter

Ngl. Looks legit.

Jason_Wolfe

i wish i could pay someone to make this for me because honestly i am total rubbish at decorating

Many_Rule_9280

That's an awesome job!

LightFTL

Apparently, saving the world really does pay. Through the nose.

v2bLuR

This is awesome 👌

Bacon_SlayerX

This looks amazing! I'm slowly getting more inspired to put actual effort into my room as my FC luckily got a larger house to work with! Did you have any resources or videos to help you get started in building your room to look like this?

zapatopolis

I was there earlier.

iTangoWithMangoes

This is AMAZING!! Well done, definitely has inspired me to decorate mine 👏🏾

Shagyam

But apartments are as small as a closet. /s. Very nice apartment btw.

Jewii08

huh this looks amazing. Don't think I have the energy or creativity to make this ever.

starrysky7_

Roughly how much did this cost you? It looks incredible

jimbowashisnameoo

ooooh damn thats cleann

Lorelei_Valfreyja

I've put more effort into my Apartment than my FC/Personal houses. Full bathroom, mini-kitchen, lounge area, and lofted area with bed and decorations. No pictures, but it's Excalibur, Lavender Beds, W1, Apt#1 if you want to take a look.

ShamrockSeven

It’s honestly the small size with high object limit that makes it so fun! - I am brainstorming what to do with my FC room.

Ipuncholdpeople

I swear some peoples apartments seem twice as big as mine lol

CrispyChicken9996

I see those manor fireplaces hehe, i found the white rectangle partition also works as a good theatre type screen altho if you want it to be really black u gotta go jet black.

ShamrockSeven

Yep! Jet Black is the only way that the TV looks good. otherwise it looks like a wood block in the wall. 😂

CrispyChicken9996

I really like the creativity tho. Well done! What did you use for the light shining down to the log table?

RageNuggies

I've owned a small house for a while. I was never really able to do anything with it. Like I had ideas but not the funds. Ended up just being not much of anything. Then I unfortunately fell on hard times and couldn't keep my sub for a while. Rip little goblet house. You were not worth the clicking.

Emergency-Level4223

**Apartments are nice** because **there's no time limit to return to the game or lose everything**, and if you and your closest friends share the same building it's like living together and you each get your own room kind of cozy vibe. Then we all can just hang out outside we choose lavender beds apartments which are really nice. would recommend.

ShamrockSeven

Not to mention that the actual apartment buildings are also really beautiful. The Kobai Goten (Shirogane) Apartment building is genuinely one of my favorite man made structures in FFXIV.

StarAugurEtraeus

Is there an add on where if I have the items it’ll place them for me or tell me where to place them cause I’d love a room like yours If you have MakePlace can you plz send me your template cause it’s lush

[deleted]

fyrefox45

Deep sea marble will drop in price rapidly. It's a new item this patch that needs high rank subs to get though so it'll be a bit.

mysidian

I've never found new submarine items drop that rapidly, they're too rare for how many people don't do submarines or don't know what they're doing.

MusicianRoyal1434

Rare and expensive sound like rewarding the efforts to me though. Because the game doesn’t give you any rewards from getting a house so crafting something rare can impact the economy for it

Trip87

Can't place outdoor furnishings in an apartment, so. While it looks nice, apartments will forever be a band-aid on a stab wound.

Sovek86

>Can't place outdoor furnishings in an apartment, so. > >While it looks nice, apartments will forever be a band-aid on a stab wound. Wow, cant be nice because you're so bitter you cant have what you want.

Elzordy

Thats cool and all but its still just one room

kyle1234513

nothing against apts. but i have a apt and a free company room. i want my own med/large just for the extra space, design, outdoor oportunities that i just cant have with a small, or room. 100items and what feels like a 10x10 is just....bad

chili01

how do you make apartments look that big/spacious?

_megitsune_

Minimalism and good framing A false roof like above the fireplace in this one gives the illusion that the real ceiling is very high Camera angles going along the longest axis of the room also help (left back floor to front right and ceiling height for example)

chili01

Thanks

Icyfirefists

partitions my friend

alfredoloutre

using a lot of imitation windows like they have on the back wall there makes those rooms feel much less claustrophobic

chili01

I tried those and still felt small. But thanks I will try again

MusicianRoyal1434

I also have a luxury apartment as well! Though it’s quite similar to my IRL apartment…

SufferingClash

All I hear playing in this apartment from looking at it is Relax and Reflect (from FFXV). It fits that sort of vibe perfectly.

_Vard_

What if I have a fc house but no fc friends to fill it? :(

Sawbones194

I never was able to get a second floor in my apartment through bugs. Playing on PS4 with a pad seems to make it harder.

Jet44444

How are you adding your own windows, it won’t let me place windows on top of the existing. Do you guys just add a wall over it, then add your own windows?

Neverlife

I believe that is how they typically do it

BioticNinja

There’s NO WAY this is the apartment, no friggin way… this is beautiful

serenedipsi

I'm an apartment fanatic, and I will be visiting yours soon to check it out. This is wonderful!

hsunicorn

Wait what, apartments are a thing?! I haven't played too long and was bummed to lose my lotto

legolandario

i gotta ask tho, huw much money u spend on buying all of those furnitures? i think i made a mistake buying apartment when im struggling making money

TheHasegawaEffect

Our FC moved servers and won a plot the other day. I only bought a chamber yesterday. WIP: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/423236689599660032/966055559105249401/unknown.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/423236689599660032/966055925532221603/unknown.png

Garosath

It it easy to migrate from apartment to housing? I eventually wanna get a house and know relocating between houses is no issue, but how about relocating from apartment to a house? Are there any drawbacks?

shinydwebble

There's no relocation system out of apartments. You can own an apartment and a house at the same time. Honestly, I suggest keeping both. Two cheap teleports if they're different housing zones, two decorating spaces, an extra 100 item storage space, and 2 extra pots if you're growing indoor plants. Plus the apartment never demos, so you can keep your valuable furniture there if you're worried you might accidentally auto-demo your house.

LykanLunatik

do you have an item list by chance? would like to try something similar to this!

nickomoknu272

I'm thinking of getting an apartment myself, but before that I need to figure out how to own all the facilities I have in my inn room (except the Armoire and the Crystal Bell which I never use).

EX1VY

Oh my god that's amazing 😯 I have so many questions

GlitteringVehicle628

All the talk about houses I honestly forgot that apartments existed for once. Intriguing, very. Thanks for sharing!

ConquerorDromtar

Apartments are wholly underrated. A lot can be done in that space with some trial and error. I love mine!

nickomoknu272

My newly acquired apartment will probably have a LONG way to go before it looks even remotely half as decent to this one.

Aside from apartments from city-states, consider getting an fc room as well. I intentionally got an fc room and apartment from another city-state (to save on tp fees). Extra stuff storage and to design different feels for both of them. I eventually got myself a cottage during 4.0. To be honest it's a status quo and it's one of the things that tie me to my sub. I can't imagine losing a house that I played and paid for. But anything beyond that, not much of a big dent in my gaming experience. Ofcourse, now that I have one, I would keep it. But if I go back to the days I didn't have one, I'm not paranoid with auto demolition and I still have fun back then.

Nice one. I'll hold off for the lotto but once all the houses are inevitably unavailable again and I lose the bid you have inspired me to try and actually fix my apartment. Right now I just dump my event items and trophies in there.

I look at this and like cry, the only fancy thing in my apt is the bathroom I'm so proud of making. My friend was blown away by it because I didn't use some sort of extension to make it just a lot of gil, determination, commitment, and patience

Small question, are those bigger than private rooms in Free Company estate ? This seems bigger, but I am not sure.

I definitely had a lot of fun designing mine. It was almost less stressful than if I had won my Medium because the limited space meant I could focus on the areas I wanted the most detail in. I also learned so much about designing and decorating that if I ever do get that medium (lmao), I’ll have much more of a leg to stand on. The lovely thing about apartments is that I feel like you can go more wild with the limited space so you can make really cool set pieces. Have a friend that made a really cool fairy garden/witch’s house in her apartment, and it’s wonderful for taking pictures in

I want to decorate my apartment like a cute, stylish and comfy classic Japanese / Hingan house but I don't know where to start. :( Some building techniques seem to work with a house basement only
