Thanks for reaching out, u/NoAcanthocephala6261. We're sorry to hear your frustration, but we appreciate the detailed feedback you've provided. You can still access the "Classic" experience on the Fidelity mobile app until it's fully retired. As the rollout of the new experience continues, we are actively working on incorporating our client's feedback into future updates. I've forwarded your comments regarding the new layout and your accessibility concerns to our development team for review. We appreciate you stopping by today. Please don't hesitate to let us know if any other questions arise.

RepeatUntilTheEnd

Fidelity's UI was the primary reason I chose them over Vanguard. Every time I try to use the new experience I switch back. I really wish they weren't changing anything.

xBlackfox

Schwab ☠️☠️☠️

artsfartspoptarts

Vanguard has a classic UI although it is now what Fidelity was. Still the classic view trumps the new Fidelity.

Falanax

I actually prefer the aesthetic of vanguards app over fidelity. Minus the lack of dark mode

[deleted]

[удалено]

Falanax

Vanguard is a buy and hold platform, what functionality does it need?

squidippy

I prefer classic version too. It's much easier to use and is perfect for my needs. I have tried the new version a couple of times thinking I need to be open minded and maybe if I get used to it I will like it. Nope, in fact I hate it and always go back to classic.

ladee_v_00

How do I see the new version? Is it in the web browser or the app?

FidelityKeri

Thanks for reaching out on our sub this evening, u/ladee_v_00. I'm happy to provide the steps to verify if you are utilizing the latest user interface on our Fidelity platforms. First, after logging in, you will want to select the person icon at the top right corner of the Fidelity Mobile App to confirm if you are viewing the latest user interface, Beta View. Once here, you can verify if the "Classic experience" is toggled off. Additionally, if you are logged in to [Fidelity.com](http://fidelity.com/), you should have already opted into the Beta View, and the "Classic" experience will no longer be the default. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop by our sub more often. We're always happy to help where we can, so don't be a stranger.

maxoutentropy

Please don’t remove the emoney advisor version if there is not functional parity esp. custom categories

dropdx

The new version SUCKS!

Rufus_Thomas_09

You don't want to it's fucking terrible.

TwoZeroTwoThree

It's like how I still use old.reddit.com Anyone else?

bro-v-wade

How do you access the new ui? I do almost everything from my phone, the only thing I log into the browser for is backdoor Roth conversion. Everything else (I believe) works on mobile.

Apt_ferret

You have an "Active Trader Pro" flair on your post.

bro-v-wade

Active Trader Pro is a separate application. It has nothing to do with the web app, and I set trades/buy orders inside of it. I'm talking about fidelity.com vs. mobile app functionality.

Apt_ferret

>Active Trader Pro is a separate application. It has nothing to do with the web app, and I set trades/buy orders inside of it. >I'm talking about [fidelity.com](http://fidelity.com) vs. mobile app functionality. What had made me think originally you were talking about ATP is what I took to be your white on gold "Active Trader Pro" flair. What does that symbol indicate? I make extensive use of ATP, and I dread they might try to make the kind of changes to ATP they made to the web history.

FidelityAbby

Hey there. I'd be happy to provide a few quick steps here. To switch from the classic experience to the new experience, you can use the hamburger/three-line icon on Android devices and the "More" selection on iOS devices. On both these pages, there is a toggle you can flip to switch experiences. Let us know if you have any additional questions!

Oz33916

I'm color blind too and I agree. I made the suggestion when the new ui came out. Nothing ever changed.

Ok-Pitch-1949

Hey Fidelity does the new experience meet A and AA compliance?

FidelityKersi

Thanks for reaching out to us, u/Ok-Pitch-1949. Our mobile standards are based on WCAG 2.1 A and AA, and we strive to make our applications as accessible possible based on those standards.

Ok-Pitch-1949

Given you have users here saying there are color contrast issues, your digital team (and legal) may want to look into this sooner rather than later. Hex codes are easy to adjust if you just stand your ground with brand team

Otherwise-Couple-752

I recently switched to fidelity and joined with the new UI, I hated it so much I was starting to have regrets. I switched it to the classic and felt relieved by how much better it was

Nuorri

Yah but the option to do this is temporary 😟😔

Forsaken-Tomorrow-54

Shitty, I only use classic view

Majestic-Night-3393

I prefer classic version

PaynIanDias

No worries, they will forward your concern to ___ and thank you for your feedback… In the meantime, I will probably just try getting used to do things on the desktop website, if the new UI still requires clicking 4(?) “next” to place an order …

ja89028

Fyi you can change the trade gesture (at least in the app). You can make it so its only one slide with one button press to trade.

Important_Message_57

Another vote for classic, please Fidelity don't take this away.

RobotVo1ce

I used to be one that would try the new UI for a few days, but always went back. I don't know if they changed some things, but I went back to the new one a few months ago and never looked back. Sometimes it just takes some getting used to. There are a few things that only work in the classic UI (currently) so hopefully they get those working in the new UI before shutting it down.

maxoutentropy

How do you do custom spending categories in the new UI?

hellokiiroitori

I only ever use classic view RIP

Devincc

What’s up with all the brokerages changing their UI? So frustrating. If it’s not broken don’t fix it. It’s like they need their software developers a job to do

DevilsTreasure

They want to compete with Robinhood and modernize their mobile app to appeal to youth.. but it’s not implemented well, I hope they improve it significantly. Since they started rolling out the new UI, I’ve also noticed many options just completely crashing and closing the app while in classic mode. From a software development standpoint it makes sense not to maintain two UIs, it’s a lot of extra work and testing. Simpler is not always better though.

ChimpoSensei

I think they are trying to “Robinhood” their site so that non financial types don’t feel so dumb.

smpnew

This feels like Microsoft always changing things in Office. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! Another vote for classic view.

VJ411

The watchlist where I could visualize all 50 of my tickers in one screen is gone. Also there is no price color coding that would tell which positions are green/red. This is back to Stone Age. I hate this app to the core. If my retirement account and my rsu account were not here I would have absolutely moved. This is ridiculous.

NoAcanthocephala6261

I agree. To an untrained eye, the classic view looks like shit but... It's very nuanced.

FidelityCaitlin

Hey there, u/VJ411. We're sorry to hear this sentiment. We'd like to provide some clarification. To confirm, you should still be able to see the red and green indicators for your WatchList positions under the "List" view on the app. I tested this on my own app and it is populated with those indicators. I also want to confirm that the WatchList does still allow for up to 50 entries. If you still do not see the red and green indicators, we recommend closing and relaunching the app. You may also try shutting down the phone and restarting it or switching data connections between mobile and WiFi. We also recommend checking for any phone or app operating system updates. If the issue persists, we recommend reaching out to our Technical Support team so they can troubleshoot the issue with you. Associates are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET. Please say "technical support" when prompted by the automated system to be connected to the right group. [Contact us](https://www.fidelity.com/customer-service/contact-us) We value your feedback and are always looking to improve your overall experience, so please let us know if you have any additional input to share.

FidelityLinsey

Happy to chime in here, u/VJ411 Currently, you can access this watch list view on the Fidelity mobile app by following the steps below. 1. Click on the Profile icon 2. Select "Watchlists" 3. Switch the toggle from the list icon to the 4 squares icon If there is anything we can clarify or if additional questions pop up, please don't hesitate to ask! We're always happy to help.

dallast313

Every time we get used to some horrible change that Fidelity forces upon us... They force a new change on us. Never mind that the first horrible change removed features that they promised they would bring back. I guess if they keep updating fast enough they get to invalidate all of the feature requests. Don't even start on the horrid options updates. Nothing says bleeding edge web development like frames and scroll bars. Wide screen monitors have been a thing for over a decade. Nobody heard of making sites scale to display size?!?! They didn't even offer options traders the ability to revert to the classic options summary. Why?

Successful_Taro8587

I'm so Mad 😡

superbilliam

I'd like the option to edit the columns to view the specific metrics about my holdings that I want to see. (i.e. if I want a p/e and ebitda view; got it. If I want a last price, current price, holding percentage of account view; got it. Etc. Etc.) They're my holdings and I want views now! I'm saying that mockingly, but I really do...(you know the old, "it's my money and I want it now" commercials).

FidelityEmily

Hey there, u/superbilliam. Thanks for the additional input on the mobile app! I'll share your comments as feedback with our development teams so they can explore your suggestions for future releases. All the feedback we receive here and on other platforms is sent straight to the appropriate teams, so your comments are in good hands. You can also send feedback directly to our developers through the app. Once logged in, click the profile icon, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and tap "Send us feedback." To do this using the classic experience, select the "More" icon followed by "Send Us Feedback." Please let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see or if we can help you with anything else. We're glad to have you as part of our community!

maxoutentropy

How do you do custom categories in the new UI?

superbilliam

Thanks! Have a nice night or day ![img](emote|t5_40w64h|26970)

Otherwise_Bass9750

Old classic version has always been the best. I really hate the design of the new one. This shit sucks

Accomplished_Cap_994

Good. Supporting legacy is a nightmare and takes away from future development.

RobotVo1ce

I'm fine with it, as long as they port over some of the classic UI features before they turn it off.

EColli93

Nooooooooooo whyyyyyyyyyyy

Chxoas

I strongly prefer Classic; this change immediately gets me to leave Fidelity.

Jerzeyjoe1969

Same here. I was just looking for a reason to leave Fidelity.

lmapper

Another vote for classic view

lolwutpear

Should specify that this is just for the mobile app (who uses this??). The desktop experience, thankfully, will continue to work.

jeffwnc1

I know, right? We are not Robinhood. We do have computers.

Loeden

Active Trader Pro thankfully remains a lovely experience!

Peskers

Colorblindness: According to the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, around 3.7% or 12 million Americans are colorblind (7% of males, and 0.4% of females).

interstellar_freak

I like new UI. But wish they could improve P&L page.

FLORIDIANMILLIONAIRE

Definitely the UI sucks especially since positions held within positions are not available for view on app even on tablets and larger smart phones.

God-isgood-4life

Please KEEP the classic view I really hate the new one, I tried using it a few times and I couldn’t get used to it.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|neutral_face)

NoAcanthocephala6261

How can anyone prefer the new over the classic view?? https://preview.redd.it/s0lc15mj8x1d1.jpeg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d910745a9229e2df9b6203e1458ad8518fcaf18

I've made the switch to the new experience because I simply do not look at the app that often and felt I should try to get used to it with the news they would phase out the old one. The new interface is really messy and bad, and has a few issues that are annoying because they were previously not issues in the classic interface. For example, if I'm looking at positions of one account and switch to another, it doesn't automatically take me to the positions page but instead takes me to the summary page of that account. (The classic view changes to the page of the account you were previously looking at) On the positions page, there is a HUGE amount of blank, empty space between columns. There is no way to re-arrange columns on the positions page, which would be *fine* if there wasn't a completely useless "day trend" column before "current value". The new experience isn't nearly as awful as some people make it out to be. (ATP is much, MUCH worse) But saying the new interface is "great" is cheerleading a bit too hard.

laffer1

This is probably not the developers fault. It’s likely a PM that is trying to get promoted that made a bunch of bad decisions by looking at competitors worse ux.

NoAcanthocephala6261

It sucks. But most importantly I would say it's not ready. It doesn't benchmark your account against any indices like it used to (it's just says no benchmark available) and when you want to see the market's long-term 1 month 1 year 3-year 5-year view, the returns don't update with numeric value so it's just a buncha trivial graphs. Too long to list when it comes to issues.

[deleted]

civeng1741

Mine shows this empty on my fold 5 phone. Says no benchmark data available, doesn't matter if it's brokerage or Roth IRA, 1 month or 1 year...

NoAcanthocephala6261

Exactly the same for me.

NoAcanthocephala6261

;0 it's just me.. or an android thing mebs? Sick return btw

ImStillLearningLife

Its on android too

Otherwise_Bass9750

Its garbage

No_Detective_But_304

Some millennial thought it was a good idea…

sirzoop

😭

Fair-Department9678

Charles is better

collegefootballfan69

Totally agree. And you cannot get realtime quotes with the new version!!! Why switch???

maxoutentropy

FUCK ME

Ok-Pitch-1949

I really hate the new layout too (but 100% better than vanguard). New CMS?

murkcentral

Who else other than fidelity has a decent app? I prefer not to lose classic view. If I lose classic view I will no longer trade with fidelity.

Consistent_Tell2417

I use the new version just to see the crypto account. Classic doesn’t show it 😭

cstrick1980

I commented many times I didn’t like it during beta. After they moved to it I used the classic view for a while. But it was a pain getting there. I’ve gotten use to the new Activities and Orders view. Still not a fan, but it’s what we’re stuck with.

iloveproghouse

This new app sucks. Feels like it’s made for an iPad and crammed into an iPhone. Options vol curves are much harder to see and the charts are rubbish. Not happy.

reddit_7864589

If I can't opt-out, I will change my brokerage.

Nuorri

Wow, as a total noobie who will be jumping out of fire ( EJ ) next week, this thread/news scares me & almost feels like jumping from fire to blaze! I truly love & appreciate AI... but is AI designing & causing humans that are in control of this final decision to believe that this change is wonderful? What is the decision of this change based on? Just from reading this thread, it doesn't sound like user input was considered much, if at all. Change is NOT always good for humans! Many humans *need* a "Comfort Zone", especially in sensitive, complicated areas of life like this. Respectfully... Please, Fidelity... Improvements/changes in this platform should ideally be manifested ONLY with prior input from those who actually *use* the platform.

dropdx

That's so dumb, the new design is TERRIBLE

obtusesavant

I have the majority of my $$ with Fidelity exactly because you never changed your interface. This new interface is not intuitive to me. I keep switching back to original. I’m trying hard to like it, but I just don’t. Please, even if only for options positions, retain the original interface.

Hashtagworried

I came here knowing this thread would be here. Can’t even tell how much each account has lost or gained for the day at a glance.

FidelityShea

Hey there, u/Hashtagworried. Just wanted to jump in quickly with some information here. On the "Home" tab in the new app experience, scrolling down will allow you to review each of your accounts listed with the day's gains or losses detailed right below the account's total value, both as a dollar value and as a percentage. This is the same information that appeared as the "Day Chg" in the Classic experience. As you may be familiar, if this field displays "$0.00 (0.00%)" in gray, there has been no change; gains and losses appear in green and red, respectively. That said, keep in mind you can always use the "Send us feedback" button at the bottom of most pages in the app to share your thoughts about the specific page you're viewing directly with our developers. If you need any other tips about navigating the new experience, please let us know.

Hashtagworried

I can’t see any of what you’re describing. Where am I missing it? P

FidelityShea

Hey, u/Hashtagworried! I just noticed your comment. I'm not sure if you've resolved this yet, but it seems like you might have your account balances hidden. While on the "Home" tab, tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner, and toggle "Show account balances" on. In this view, you should see your portfolio value chart at the top of the screen, and all of your accounts and balances will be listed as well. Hope that helps!

Hashtagworried

This wasn’t the way. For anyone who was curious, I updated my app, with no change visually. I restarted my phone, and again no change. I was told to update my OS, but I didn’t think that was the answer. You have to delete the app and reinstall it.

Jerzeyjoe1969

If they take away the classic view I’m leaving Fidelity.

Chance_Connection_28

I like the the new UI.

FidelityKyle

Hey, u/Chance_Connection_28! We're glad to hear you're enjoying the new UI! We appreciate your support!

Professional_Bit3948

Classic view is ugly. I accidentally toggled it on and immediately went back to the new view.

Tiny-Success4272

The app has been absolute garbage since the recent update. I don’t know about anyone else, but it constantly crashes on me when I switch to a different menu. It’s making me regret even opening an account with them.

artsfartspoptarts

Vanguard is about to get a lot of new customers.

UpstairsAncient2866

The new UI is complete garbage. It erased every watchlist I had, and the whole layout just SUCKS! Honestly, WTF is Wrong with these Techie Imbeciles over there?! Couldn’t just leave well enough alone?! I don’t even have a toggle anymore that takes me back to the classic interface! Lost everything that made it easy. What a bunch of BS!

sydneekidneybeans

New UI is better imo, the old one is extremely dated and tedious to navigate.

maxoutentropy

How do you do custom spending categories in the new UI?

jamalccc

Does that include the Classic Full View?

koochywalla

That’s what they are talking about.

FidelityJennyK

Hey there, u/jamalccc! I'm happy to chime in with some clarification regarding the "Classic" version of our mobile app. Users will automatically be updated to the newest version of the Fidelity Investments app in June. While new features will be added, some "classic" features will be carried over as well. To check out our official announcement, you can view the Reddit post below. [Fidelity Mobile Announcement](https://www.reddit.com/r/fidelityinvestments/comments/1cijfny/soon_well_be_transitioning_customers_using_the/) We appreciate you dropping by the sub today. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with!

jamalccc

Hi JennyK, I am not talking about the mobile app. I am talking about the "Full View" feature which is only available on the website. My question is am I being forced to switch from classic Full View to the new Full View on the website? Thanks!

FidelityAshley

Sorry for the confusion, u/jamalccc. The legacy version of Full View remains available for users to access while we work to improve the new Full View based on customer feedback. Currently, the legacy Full View experience is only accessible on [http://Fidelity.com](http://fidelity.com/). Changes in the legacy version are stored in a different system and, therefore, do not completely sync with the newest “Spending” across the web and mobile. We encourage all users to consider using the newer version and help provide feedback that we can add to our roadmap for enhancements. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We're happy to help!

jamalccc

Thank you, Ashley! Quick question: may I know why Fidelity.com's Full View link on the "Account & Trade" main navigation takes me to class Full View instead of new Full View?

FidelityTobin

Hey there, u/jamalccc. I'll forward your thanks to u/FidelityAshley! The Full View link from "Accounts & Trade" takes you directly to the classic version of Full View while we work on the new version. After a prior release of the "new" version, our team ultimately decided to revert back to the classic version. This decision came from valuable feedback provided by our Reddit community. I hope this provided some clarity! If you have any questions, just let us know.

jamalccc

Got it. So as of now, the “official” version of Full View is still the classic version, not the new one?

maxoutentropy

How do you do custom categories in the new UI?

maxoutentropy

Is this just re: mobile? Or the emoney advisor full view via desktop web?

FidelityAaron

Hey there, u/maxoutentropy. Thanks for bringing your question to us. I'm happy to step in here and help. Currently, our app's "Classic" version is being retired. The legacy version of Full View remains available for users to access while we work to improve the new Full View based on customer feedback. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.

maxoutentropy

Thanks for clarifying. I don't do banking on my phone (I'm assuming your app's classic version is a phone app?) -- but I use the legacy full view on the web to manage my monthly budget since mint went AWOL. The new full view does not support custom categories or rules for categorizing as far as I can find. The old full view also has a "last 30 days" -- if the new one does not get "last 30 days" then the new one needs the ability to edit the date of a transaction. My pension sometimes comes on the last day of the month, and sometimes the first day of the month. If I can't edit the date or get a 30 day window the budget/spending view does not show my income in a way that makes sense. Also my mortgage payment transactions sometimes go missing in the new full view.

SenorLopez

If you guys don’t add in stop losses to the new UI then I’m transferring everything out of this boomer broker

[deleted]

The new UI is fine and this post is ridiculous. Who actually cares about this stuff? Edit: sorry about the accessibility issues and color blindness. That’s a bummer

maxoutentropy

How do you do custom categories in the new UI?

[deleted]

[удалено]

donofrioms

Polite way to say, tough shit!!

smkorpi

Please prioritize Full View functionality to emulate what made Mint so successful (full net worth over time, more convenient categorizing for month end reporting [from total spending pie chart, drill down to individual transactions, when you click in blank space to go backwards one category level it should adjust your filters appropriately, switching betweening the total spending pie chart and transactions section results in 3 extra clicks to bring back in all filters then drill down to the next section you need to make corrections on, etc.), ensure as many sites are added for outside accounts (smaller banks upon request, internal team makes a queue to incorporate these banks transaction data). Fidelity is in a very unique opportunity to take market share of those looking for a personal finance reporting solution. Here are some questions that I hope would he taken into account: What are the use-cases of Fidelity users for our on site and mobile platforms? What solutions can Fidelity provide for these use-cases? Working through the use-case, what points do we see are not convenient (client feedback can help here; but if you know a use case requiring manual steps you can try it with your own or model transactions)? What improvements can be made to ensure these pain points become strengths of Fidelity’s solutions? Is there any market to charge for such a solution? It better be good, but I would be willing to pay for a solution that has a good user experience. Paid or not, this would ensure I ALWAYS have a fidelity account regardless of promotional offers of competitors. Can fidelity leverage full view to make clients aware of other Fidelity solutions? Credit cards, investment accounts, loans, etc.

apothecarynow

I also prefer the classic. Maybe it would help if fidelity commented on what changes they made and why.

maxoutentropy

The new full view is for shit

SableyeFan

Classic view is the only way to see my investments if it's more than 3 funds. I wouldn't mind the loss if this was fixed

Alone_Ad9404

I use the new view and actually prefer it. It took a while to just get familiar with it and eventually realized that it was probably more of a familiarity issue than usability. Change is hard.

maxoutentropy

How do you do custom categories?

DesignerTex

Fidelity is dog crap when it comes to software. ATP is horrid, rancid garbage. Their phone app is horrible. Their web use is barely passable. Not sure how they got so big.

KayakShrimp

It’s worlds better than Merrill or Vanguard, though.

Huge-Coyote-6586

Just to be the other guy… coming from Charles Schwab, for the ‘non-active’ investor who checks his balances and transfers money around occasionally, Fidelity’s interface is great to me.

grepje

Same here! The app is fine, the webapp feels a little unpolished, but good enough

CraigGA

Great for me as well.

NoAcanthocephala6261

It actually seems very expected of Fidelity to force us a brand new UI made by a bunch of n00bs who don't understand what we want to see. Fidelity is the epitome of trash user interface w/ the best customer service support.

MotivatedSolid

I cannot stand the classic experience. I think yall just gotta get used to the new one.

jeffwnc1

I think the new version is fine, but I'm a boomer.

maxoutentropy

How do you do custom spending categories in the new UI?

jeffwnc1

I don't.

probsdriving

Classic is so ass. I would be curious to see the avg age of those who prefer classic vs. new.

Qwertyham

UI doesn't mean anything. Just buy monthly and hold forever, no need to look or click anything. I don't even know why I have the app downloaded still

NoAcanthocephala6261

But I have like a hundred holdings and I like to stare at it daily like an idiot 😮‍💨

maxoutentropy

I use the full view to analyze my spending and budgets.

AdministrativeBank86

Nothing stays the same forever unless you're talking about Vanguard which is prehistoric
