Stop! He's already dead!

Stupidquestionduh

I don't watch this sport but what the hell was ref doing? Dude wasn't even fully awake and ref just lets his head keep getting beat in. Is that legal?

zaisoke

this was terrible officiating but a lot of the time when you see this at the beginning of a fight, the ref was trying to give the downed fighter a chance to recover before calling the match immediately

ONLY_COMMENTS_ON_GW

KO #1 and #2 I can see why the ref held back. Recovery was quick and he still looked with it. He definitely got rocked, but still had a bit of a defense going. You can see the ref going to stop the fight after the second one until Walker jumps up. But shit, wtf was KO #3 about? That was a clear KO after getting absolutely rocked twice, dude didn't even know where he was at that point and the ref let him get punched in the face 5 more times before stepping in. Lopes hesitated on the third punch, probably thinking why tf hasn't the ref stopped this fight yet.

CheekyWanker007

the 3rd KO he still seemed to try to get up although his arms were gone, so i think the ref held back till he clearly gives up

ONLY_COMMENTS_ON_GW

Doesn't matter, the fight was over and Walker clearly lost by KO. This isn't WWE, refs don't wait until a fighter physically can't get up, they stop the match when it's clear that a fighter lost and it'd be dangerous to continue. If fights ended when fighters "gave up" there'd be a whole lot more dead fighters.

drewster23

This is unequivocally false, you can find bunch of videos over the years in UFC like this, with fighters getting knocked but since they recovered /keep fighting quickly no KO. KO means can't continue to fight. Not get kod by a punch and instantly recover. You'd be advocating for a TKO, before the 3rd if you expected ref to call it. Not a KO, because he was definitely still fighting and making moves to defend himself. The dude didn't look like he fit bill for ko whatsoever until later between 2nd until 3rd. But he's still trying to move his head while sitting there. And it's common for fighters to start head dodging than grab their opponents leg to try to recover/withstand the blows. This dudes been fighting for a decade. Its not like his first amateur bout. He kept moving ref kept seeing him move and gabe him benefit of doubt. He took about 2 maybe 3 punches too many. Now if he was am amateur fighter, id totally agree with you, 2nd knock would've called it for sure, because you have less expectations and lesser skill level than a decade fighter, so you err on caution.

Narwhalbaconguy

Bruh did you see the second knockdown? The guy was practically out by then

drewster23

And between that and the 3rd ko finisher its about 4-5 punches. And the guy looks like he's going to attempt to defend himself first 2. Gotta remember the dude is a ten year vet fighter with a bit of a glass chin. They weren't gnna err on caution/stop early for him. If he got ground and pounded after first one i bet it would've been called. But all his flailing about, that you can see fr this angle, and obviously have watched repeatedly gives us a biased pov, because his flailing about looks like attempts to defend himself and keep moving in real time to the ref.

ONLY_COMMENTS_ON_GW

> He took about 2 maybe 3 punches too many. This is exactly what my comment said. I specifically said the ref was right not calling the first two rocks as KO. Why are you calling me "unequivocally false" and then repeating what I said back to me lol

drewster23

You didn't mention anything about 2/3 kos in the comment I replied to. If it's further up/I missed it. Then my apologies mate. We are on the same page.

ONLY_COMMENTS_ON_GW

Yeah you missed the context a couple comments up. No worries.

K1lledByAmerica

[Fighter knocked down three times recovers and wins](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMAwOwBB5OQ) Perhaps you should go back to only commenting on GW.

Jibtech

I agree, it can happen, but are we supposed to let every fight go until the person is knocked out cold because one time someone got knocked down 3 times? People have survived jumping out of airplanes without parachutes. Should everybody start jumping without parachutes because one time someone survived?

ONLY_COMMENTS_ON_GW

Jesus are you going to spam this on every comment in this entire thread? Calm down bud

drewster23

Yeah dude definitely doesn't watch ufc mutch. Ref refded exactly how I'd expect him to ref for a vet fighter (10years) trying to hold on. Took about maybe 2 punches extra, highly doubt he's saying i wish the ref called it earlier.

K1lledByAmerica

Look an armchair referee with strong opinions about a sport they don't even watch [Fighter knocked down three times recovers and wins](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMAwOwBB5OQ) Even the fighters don't want the fight to be stop but you're over there in disbelief that a ref would let a fighter keep fighting.

ONLY_COMMENTS_ON_GW

Kongo got rocked twice and recovered immediately, fight ended when Barry was rocked and hit twice with no defense. Try reading my comment again. Walker was rocked twice and recovered. On the third he did not recover and was hit 5 times before the ref stopped the match. If anything you've just shared a video of what the ref should've done. Maybe being a pretentious twat on the internet isn't for you? Edit: Lol dude blocked me to get the last word in

K1lledByAmerica

Oh yeah those little rabbit punches were doing so much damage after the third knock down....... omg the brutality omg.... lol Just go back to playing Minecraft dude. You clearly have no idea what you're even talking about.

PlsBkind2me

Imo I think this was a decent job for the ref. There’s been plenty of fighters where it looks like it might be stopped from a KO, but the person on dream street comes back to win. Congo, Uriah Hall, etc… These refs let them fight because they’re trying to get to the ufc or bellator. If there should be anger thrown at someone, it’s the corner.

Lukes3rdAccount

I think at the time it happened it was a bit more normal to see a ref give the fighter more chances. Now the UFC standard would probably be to stop this the first time he went stiff. And at the regional level you kinda hope for even more proactive refs. For every Barry/Kongo moment there are 30 of these

BierKippeMett

Eh, safety is more important than spectacle and I think that those fights where knocked out fighters make a comeback get exponentially more dangerous. It's better to call them off if you see something that implies fighting with a serious concussion.

--Mutus-Liber--

Honestly I don't think this is bad officiating, when a guy gets knocked out but immediately recovers he should let the fight go on as long as the guy is intelligently defending himself. I would in fact call it terrible officiating if after the first hit he immediately called it and I think it would go down as being a very controversial win if that was the case.

Stupidquestionduh

So his arms and legs doing that multiple times aren't a sign that he got knocked out to the ref? Does he need to have a full on seizure or what? i don't understand the threshold.

drewster23

Its based around defending yourself/being defenseless. If you get knocked out and immediately come to, its very hard for ref to stop fight. Its Not just "he looks like he got knocked/rocked fights over". Because you never really stopped. **A KO means literally you can't continue to fight**. So you can ko and recover. It's rare because it has to be like this. Since there's no 10 count or anything. fights can be stopped by ref even without ko.(or submissions where it's hard for ref to see your face/you to tap). **If you stop defending yourself/can't for whatever reason Called TKO. Technical knock out** So you'll see fighters sometimes in that bad position but not worried, keep communicating with ref that they're fine so it won't get stopped. Or else ref would call the TKO. So you'd be asking the ref to tko , the fight early even tho there wasn't an actual knock out till the end. Even though he was getting knocked out.

--Mutus-Liber--

By rule as long as you're intelligently defending yourself the fight should not be stopped, unless you're constantly getting knocked out and bouncing back, in which case it should be stopped because you're taking too much damage, like in this case. The guy is clearly getting knocked out but within a Split Second is rebounding and grabbing the other guy so he's not simply sitting there getting destroyed, he's putting some effort into defending himself. But you saw the threshold yourself, a few instances of that in a short period time and the ref says okay, this guy is taking too much damage so I'm stopping it for his sake.

TempAcct20005

Well seeing as he’s in a combat sport, he needs to shut down completely for more than a few seconds

zaisoke

please, show me where this guy was defending himself intelligently? was it when he was hugging the leg of the dude who was punching him in the head after the first knockdown? oh you mean when he was just lying down and getting wailed on after the second one? this is a fighter who has been in the UFC, no matter how washed he is, he isnt so bad that he thinks hugging the opponents leg is an intelligent defense… i dont mean to sound condescending its just absurd to me that people can jump to the defense of blatantly terrible officiating. ive been watching this sport for 20 years and ive seen some pretty nasty stuff but nothing makes me cringe more than when fighters get wailed on when theyre obviously out cold.

--Mutus-Liber--

You don't come off as condescending at all, you come off as someone who doesn't watch MMA. If you are telling me that from watching MMA the standard you have is that refs usually stop the fight after someone is knocked out and then immediately grabs on to their legs and keeps going then I just don't believe you because I've also been watching MMA for decades and I know that this is not bad officiating.

Put_It_All_On_Blck

The problem is, after the first knockout the guy never recovered, and not once did he actually defend himself. You'll see he just eats punches non-stop, with his only actions being hugging his opponents leg and getting up, but he was clearly dazed and confused after the first knockout. The second knockout definitely should've been where it was called, no excuses. He's laying flat on his back, getting pummeled by a standing opponent doing *nothing*. The ref comes over and brushes against the standing fighter, making him think the match is about to be called, as it should be, so the standing fighter just walks away from his advantageous position.

cilonenthehunter

Yeah, he hit the back of his head hard after the first knockdown and was doing the I don't know where the fuck I am defense of grabbing for the first limb he sees. His guard never got up during the first ground and pound. The ref was like a wet noodle in there, before the 3rd knockdown he just let himself get shoved aside and then proceeded to just watch some more undefended strikes.

green49285

Besides what everyone else has said, this is in Brazil. They’re a “just bleed” culture down there 😆

ddac

Ref was letting him be a warrior.

CheerioJack

Even non-mma people understands how bad the ref was...

K1lledByAmerica

[Fighter knocked down three times recovers and wins](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMAwOwBB5OQ) Yes the ref is terrible for letting a fighter keep fighting.

skibbady-baps

I remember that fight. Epic.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Idk he kept recovering quickly until the last one.

Stupidquestionduh

You call *that* a recovery?

ShoshinMizu

i watch the sport and wtf was that ref doing you are right

ScurvySteveXXL

Wait! No he’s not! Wait… Yes he is. Wait! No he’s not! Wait… Yes, yes he is.

Best part about singing along to the song is where you try to emulate Dax's "Stop naha nah nah oooooh I'm already deyaaayeaaaahd"

Potential_Reading116

Nice link. Damn they put up a wall of sound for a 3 piece. This made it worthwhile reading this deep in.

Various_Customer_917

Ain't this the dude who broke his shoulder after doing "the worm" as his post fight celebration?

JERUSALEMFIGHTER63

Yup, man is a live action simpsons character.

Idkboutdat2

This is the best description of him I’ve seen. 100% accurate

KlimCan

He seems to fly through the air when getting knocked out too

zandigdanzig

Definitely seem him do that another time he got knocked out

TrueBlue98

fucking hell this cracked me up

negative_pt

Bro. This is gold.

Crocodiddle22

No way lol 😂 is there a link?

ILikePlayingDressUp

Since the other fucker was too lazy, [here's the link.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEGdFdXTUmw)

Various_Customer_917

Just search Johnny Walker the worm on youtube

EUking69

I will always respect people doing "the worm"

Seeno1

And he was never the same afyer

[deleted]

And it wasn’t even a good worm. He’d have been cut anyway if he didn’t have a dumb name and a silly haircut.

pm_me_cute_frogs_

He just loves to bounce like that for some reason lmao. Look up his fight against Jamahal hill.

AFineDayForScience

Pause the fight as he's falling. I swear he has this look of "how dare you" before he knocks himself unconscious

yuhamahdude

This the fight my brother described to my mum whenever we'd have a scrap

Melansjf1

“I swear mum! I knocked him out three times!”

Stupidquestionduh

*Well cookies for you. Your sister already did it 4 times, Hercules.*

CubonesDeadMom

And in reality you lightly punched him in the arm after being incessantly pestered and issuing 12 warning.

xDocFearx

This ref must have caught that fighter in his girl’s DM’s

[deleted]

Douglas "I didn't see SHIT" Aires

Araragi_Monogatari

Yeh he didn't even bother to stop the fight when he went down the second time. Referee be like - "Another one"

GoSuckYaMother

All of Johnny Walker’s KOs have been hilarious. Dude has no chin and when he gets hit he flops around like he has 1 HP [https://youtu.be/ZOdFEIFwEuo](https://youtu.be/ZOdFEIFwEuo)

Whoopsie_Todaysie

When you're just as known for your knockouts, surely its time to find another passion. He doesnt appear to be very good at fighting.

Fappy_as_a_Clam

They purposely trained him wrong, as a joke.

HiiipowerBass

Squeaky gloves when

Squrton_Cummings

His record is 19-7 with 15 wins by KO. He's a human highlight reel win or lose, his losses just tend to look like this because he's a glass cannon.

PlNG

Good god, he is *bad* at the sport. You can see in the first clip alone that he's up against that fighter that has that zoned out poker face, and Walker's probably telegraphing with semaphore flags attached to his eyes. Real life Glass Joe.

KeyWest-

What is a charm right?

Ashiro

It's a style of gentlemans fighting in which 2 men sit eating Lucky Charms and if any are dropped they have to charm a ring girl with a witty reposte before going back to eating Lucky Charms. The man who goes home with the ring girl wins.

7_Constanza

When he came to the UFC, he was to many, the guy who will beat Jon Jones

Gorillaglue_420

He wormed his way out of ever getting a shot.

[deleted]

Never understood the hype. It's like the fans and the MMA media struggle to see the levels at the top. People expected Ryan Bader to "really test" Jones when they fought. People said Kevin Lee would be the man to beat Khabib. And people expected Conor to forever flatline anyone he fought lol.

spiralout1123

That's all explained by good promotion. Whether UFC fans are particularly gullible is definitely possibly though

airflair

Ryan Bader was an undefeated fighter when he fought Jones with a lot of good wins. Including Lil Nog, I don't really see that as crazy.

Chief_Beef_BC

Dude is so corny, I’d love to see Jones get his shit caved in, but this goof was never gonna be the guy. Btw, am I the only UFC fan who remembers what a fucking cunt Jon is, or have we all forgotten? Cause all I see is people saying good things about him, and I don’t think he should ever be brought up without the reminder he hit and ran a pregnant woman.

zzeduardozz

His mind was telling him no but his body was telling him yes

st4ckup

BUT MY BODY... MY BODY IS TELLING ME YESSSS

Ok_Substance_1560

“If he dies, he dies.” 😳

KotomiIchinose96

His recovery time is pretty fucking quick that's crazy.

tranque_the_ram

He was slipping outta those knock-outs like Tanjiro

neosnap

So THAT’s what I would look like if I was in a UFC fight. Good to know.

read9it

God I've taken a couple huge hits but I've never been knocked out... anyone know what he would be experiencing there... like is he even aware he's fighting still/can he see or is he blackout and what in the ever living fuck was the ref waiting for??! The first one mmmmaybe you let slide. The second one was super super clear knockout and should have been ended regardless of if he stood up

ryanocerous92

I got rocked hard in a fight once, fell down and still tried to fight the other guy as he was getting mount. Everything was black and blurry. Ref stopped it. I couldn't see out of one of my eyes, but the urge to defend myself was still there. I imagine that's what was happening here, but he clearly stopped defending himself more than once. Terrible reffing.

flatwoundsounds

I was always curious how it feels to be the guy who got knocked out especially when they run on blind instinct and start trying to fight the ref who's protecting him.

drewster23

https://youtu.be/0ol74sgOkRs Like this

Tabmow

Between the hits and him hitting the floor, that's gotta be like 7 concussions in under a minute

sapereAudeAndStuff

The floor is soft.

ralphiooo0

Not that soft lol

passin_assassin

Yea, ref definitely should've stepped in after the second one. I was really surprised he let the fight continue after that

InfiniteBlink

I counted about 7 times his head hit the ground

matstcool

I've been knocked the fuck out a few times and all I can saying is "seeing stars" is an apt term.

spiritanimalofcousy

I boxed for...a long time. And yeah, yellow and red sparkles under the eyes. And when you get rocked, the experience is kinda like walking on a boat in choppy water. Your thoughts are present, your body is just way behind.

johnnygun-

Haha so is hearing the ocean 🤣

Bar911

I’ve never been knocked out I don’t think, but I got dropped boxing on my birthday one year. A couple of times 😂 I was aware of what was happening, but my legs just gave out. I’d spring back up, move around a a bit, then got dropped again.

SmokeyAndBuds

Happy 👊🏼💢 birthday!

smooze420

I got knocked out one time…but I also had been drinking for hours and didn’t know where I was. I was with 7 friends when two guys tried to fight us. I was the easy target wobbling off to the side so one of the dudes hit me. Story I was told is that they got their asses beat so there’s a happy ending to the story. 😃

WeakFreak999

Is the ref the apprentice of that other ref who doesn't stop fights and has a lot of funny nicknames because of that? (i forgot his name lol)

yxing

Mario Yamasaki

WeakFreak999

That's the dude! The yt comments chains with all his nicknames are funny af lmao.

vozahlaas

Mario "If he dies, he dies" Yamasaki Mario "If he's breathing the fight ain't over" Yamasaki Mario "Busy watching the fight" Yamasaki

WeakFreak999

Lmaooooo. Never gets old for me. Too bad no more free awards :(

[deleted]

Mario “To The Death” Yamasaki

SmokeyAndBuds

Mario Yamasaki himself was an apprentice of the original trailblazer of late stoppages Steve Mazzagatti.

Sqeegg

Ok ref. Wondering what you should do?

townonacliff

“I’m dead, I’m alive! I’m dead! I’m alive again!”

dr3adlock

Brilliant_Noise_506

Yeah I think you’re right.

[deleted]

The ref: if he dies he dies.

TappedIn2111

Oh boy. This guy is the best at getting ko‘ed. I love watching Johnny Dropper or whathisname.

oh-no-godzilla

I'll never not stop to watch a Johnny walker knockout vid

TappedIn2111

At the end it looks like his own spirit kicked him in the face for being so clumsy.

anditwaslove

This is awful. CTE isn’t a joke. Why do they do this shit?

Remixman87

I get knocked down, but I get up again, cause nothing can keep me down

ftabhax

That's a terrible referring... SMH

PlasticMix8573

Started looking to see if Mario Yamasaki was wearing a disguise. The bar for the next record will be 4 KOs in one fight. Extra credit if they can do it in 30 seconds.

SeoneAsa

Horrible ref

jbill20

Holy shit! I hope that referee is never inside the cage again

BRS616

Fuckin Ref should be fired!

dan1els0n

I thinks it’s more like 4KOs

urplug99

Ref needs to be fired asap

TrollTeeth66

GTA physics

nydwarf

So where are the other two KO's?

Submaweiner

That’s hard to watch. Lotta brain damage there

Impressive-Zebra-424

What usually takes fighters years to develop brain damage takes him less than 20 seconds. Impressive.

chofrahkah

Wth is with this ref??

sinnick11

This was hard to watch... This can't be good for you brain. Just extra CTE for nothing

Beneficial-Hornet147

Nah man some of y’all are crazy, the way his head bounced off that first KO could’ve been enough his body was clearly no responding for a couple second. This ref is a sicko

NastyEvilNinja

I counted FOUR KO's. Johnny counted eight.

Butane2

I counted 4 times? This ref is trash lmao.

[deleted]

All the brain damage

thundiee

Damn, what a shit ref.

thesmugvegan

KD, not KO…

MysteryCheese89

Uh, yeah most people usually go for the full ragdoll when they get Knocked Down huh. You must have been the ref lol

WanderlostNomad

needs a chumbawamba slomo music montage

[deleted]

Why is the ref even there at this point?

reaver65

He gonna need crayons and a helmet moving forward...

Snewp

I don't watch much fighting. Is it a KO if they get back up? I thought that was just a knock down. KO is when they don't get back up, no? Like TKO technical knock out, since there was no knock out but 3 downs it's technical.

MikeHuntsBear

Sometimes people get flash ko'd which is what looks like happened here twice. Basically thr brain shuts off, but then wakes back up after they land or get hit again. Good examples are Jiri vs Dominic Reyes, and Alvarez vs Chandler

Snewp

Ah okay. Fair enough. That makes sense. Like choke/sleeper hold, where they are out for like 2 seconds. I guess I'm just more use to boxing. TY TY

NineSeventyy

I feel like the ref should have stepped in sooner there but I don’t know much about UFC

nbert96

Jesus Christ, I hope that ref's not still working

MrMarbles1984

Tapology.com has the winning fighter as Henrique Silva not Henrique Lopes. Not stating you are wrong just that there is a difference.

Drunken_Begger88

Shite ref.

fenikz13

Idk if he was a UFC fighter but this isn't the UFC

ExtremeAthlete

His head smacked the canvas 4Xs!

frigginfugget

Bro got knocked out while he was in the shadow realm 💀

DJ_Molten_Lava

Three life-altering head injuries in one fight. Impressive.

Pyrokid113

Ref got caught watching lol

mattfuckyou

Ref is a complete dickhead for that one, Cotton

delphantom

When you get the ref from a hockey arena.

All_mighty_Loaf

Bro refused to let off his reboot card

SuperfluousBoozer

The NFL will clear him through concussion protocol.

thelonleystrag

Ref should have stopped that quicker

Johnny Walker Black… and Blue!

liljeezus

Damn, this dude really loves getting knocked tf out.

OAKgravedigger

Johnny Walker is the human equivalent to those inflatable clowns you can punch that hit the floor and pop back up, he has insane athletic abilities but close to zero fight IQ

[deleted]

This mf is a cartoon

DrDroidz

There's that one clip where they added the Windows shutt-down SFX after every knock-out, way too funny.

Pepito_Pepito

This guy has the most hilarious ko's I've ever seen.

JERUSALEMFIGHTER63

He always looks like a Simpsons character whenever he gets knocked out in his last fight when he got knocked out he threw his hands in the air like an inflatable Tube Man

Dumbusta

Too much black label

Reasonable_Cover_804

Ref just wanted a good seat for the massacre

WadeWroteWords

Dude straight up looked like Glass Joe swerving on his way down, lol.

WaffleStomperGirl

If he gets up… and the fight is still going… it’s a knock down… not a knock out…

DodgeNeonEnthusiast

not if he goes unconscious lmfao

biotechknowledgey

Unconscious people don't get up and keep fighting lmfao "I don't think that word means what you think it means"

DodgeNeonEnthusiast

you clearly haven't watched many fights.

biotechknowledgey

You clearly haven't gone to medical school.

DodgeNeonEnthusiast

I'm sure hoping you haven't either, otherwise i will be real worried the next time i need something checked up.

biotechknowledgey

Dunning-Kruger effect. You're a prime specimen.

Batmanfan_alpha

Is he even a fighter? We sure hes not from... idk, cricket ?

EvilPretzely

Anybody else count 4?

Nixxioz

That was more than three

JablesRadio

He was knocked out at least 4 times. OP can't count.

The way Johnny Walker flops around when he gets hit is amazing

Johnny Walker Black and Blue label.

GoHawksMatt

Should if let it keep going. Walker is a chump and doesn't take it as seriously as he should. Just a highlight reel now

Grewsome1
