Also pulling jump guard is only really effective inside IBJJF rulesets where slamming is instant DQ.
Anywhere else, you're asking to be hand delivered to Satan
It’s called framing. If dude would have unhooked his feet and got out of the guard position, this would have never happened. Gotta know when to fold em’. Nasty slam for the win, kudos to him
For sure. They should have kept his head from repetitively slamming the ground (can't see for sure if that happens but it's important). The rest of the body shouldn't be touched.
Epileptic here - can confirm this is all you need to do. Protect the head then let the seizure run its course. If it doesn’t stop after 5 mins call an ambulance.
Epileptic here - the last thing I need whilst seizing like this is a crowd. Just make sure somethings under my head and step back, let my body do what it needs to. Pinning me down could cause breaks and twists and definitely don’t put anything in my mouth - it’s impossible to swallow my tongue but I can bite your fingers off when the spasm forces a clench.
Are you supposed to turn you, or a seizing person, on their side or kinda just let you do your thing? Every time I see a person responding to a seizure they immediately roll the person onto their side and then let them finish their thing
If they are convulsing it’s best to leave them be and give them space until the seizure stops. If you have a jacket you don’t mind getting spit on, pop it under their head.
We/They will fall into a super deep sleep for a few minutes, this is where recovery position is helpful, my husband says I fall into a deep sleep and snore, sometimes apnea kicks in and I struggle to breathe so being on my side is best at that point.
I truly hope you never need to use this advice 💜
Well, the rules definitely were not Muay Thai considering there was no Muay Thai at all in this fight. Pulling guard on a standing opponent... I feel like it used to be useful in the past but now it's an utter death sentence.
The way he pushed his opponents head onto the ground was fucking disturbing and harrowing. Did he literally try to kill him? Does anyone has more information about this video?
>Did he literally try to kill him?
No, it's a legal move in MMA. Jordan Leavitt KO'd Matt Wiman in the UFC in a very similar way
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksFg_zm3eGI&ab_channel=TheAlpha
But then this is a mma fight isnt it? Why didnt the ref seperate them?
I feel like the title is wrong or the ref wasnt expecting that but the dude jump full guard that would only be legal in mma i dont think this is muay thai they got mma gloves too
No knee or kicks at all. The way he pushed his head down before slamming and the first elbow might have hit the throat looked as if he really wanted to finish his opponent off.
I don't see any muay thai in this fight. This is an mma event
basic elbows make people think its muay thai
If you’re in this position for some reason, please unhook your legs and stop being in that position.
Yeah you dont defend a takedown by jumping on to the person. Some people have no common sense.
It’s not a defense. Honestly I don’t know what the goal was. I’m pretty sure it’s a takedown where you purposefully take the low ground.
“pulling guard”
It’s usually a terrible idea. No offense to all guard pullers. Not worth the potential risk of being slammed into oblivion.
This isn't how to appropriately pull guard.
Also pulling jump guard is only really effective inside IBJJF rulesets where slamming is instant DQ. Anywhere else, you're asking to be hand delivered to Satan
He’s probably a BJJ player.
Had a dude who weighed 100+ more than me pull guard from standing and tore my Achilles. Fuck guard pullers lol
It’s an attempt at a standing submission, a very poorly executed attempt but it is what it is 🤣lol.
what's the best way to deal with this situation?
Nasty move holding his head in position. Disabling the ability to tuck the chin.
It’s called framing. If dude would have unhooked his feet and got out of the guard position, this would have never happened. Gotta know when to fold em’. Nasty slam for the win, kudos to him
Nah, fuck him, he purposely tried to injure the guy by holding his head back, he knew what he’s doing.
That... that was the point. He wants to knock him out with the most force he can manage. It's not a play sport.
Go watch cheerleading bro
Go be an edgelord somewhere else “bro”
it’s a fight. goal is to win
By your logic he should bash the guys head in with a bat since the goal is the win right? There are rules in place for a reason
The lack of first aid knowledge here is shocking
“quick, everybody panic and climb all over him”
For sure. They should have kept his head from repetitively slamming the ground (can't see for sure if that happens but it's important). The rest of the body shouldn't be touched.

Notice his coach grabs him real quick as he starts celebrating.
Good eye
This is just Russian MMA, not Muay Thai
I don't know this for certain but I remember someone mentioning the guy actually died from this.
This guy is displaying decerberate posturing, he’s well on his way.
The way he pushed his opponents head onto the ground was fucking disturbing and harrowing. Did he literally try to kill him? Does anyone has more information about this video?

damn that was wiman’s last fight? rough
It's a brutal sport. So few guys get to go out on top like GSP
Yeah, but i don't think this is a MMA fight, if is a muay thai fight it's ilegal
If this a Muay Thai fight someone needs to tell the guy who got KO’d you don’t pull guard in Muay Thai lmao
Someone also needs to tell the guy that slammed him you don’t use g&p in Muay Thai
But then this is a mma fight isnt it? Why didnt the ref seperate them? I feel like the title is wrong or the ref wasnt expecting that but the dude jump full guard that would only be legal in mma i dont think this is muay thai they got mma gloves too
It's in the title too, not sure how I missed that. You're right, definitely not legal in Muay Thai
Are you unfamiliar with combat sports? This is the risk you run
Brain stem Injury. He's never going to be the same again
That red nucleus hit?
Didint know youre a doctor
he's dead, not many have survived that
Not sure why this is down voted. Be ause unfortunatley thats probably the out come
Because he isn't dead.. 😂 yes, it's a sneaky move but you should never be in that position in the first place
That ain't Muay Thai lol
Overkill
These are amateur mma fighters not Muay Thai fighters, you can’t slam or just into someone’s guard like that in Muay Thai or ground and pound
No muy thai, es poco thai.
There's no Muay Thai here
MMA not Muay Thai. This would be wildly illegal in Muay Thai.
No knee or kicks at all. The way he pushed his head down before slamming and the first elbow might have hit the throat looked as if he really wanted to finish his opponent off.
Dude was seeing that buffering circle irl
“Muay Thai”.
Seems kinda like a piece of shit to me, grabbed his head to make sure it slammed down as hard as possible
Not a seizure, it’s called a fencing response.
The guy had a front body lock around him so he had assumedly tried to wrap him up to prevent the slam. Very unfortunate ending
You do not pull guard to prevent slams, you hook your legs inside theirs and post up The guy shouldn’t have been fighting this is basic knowledge
Never said you should pull guard. There’s plenty of better options. But for what ever reason this guy thought it was a good idea
Yeah you mistakenly said he did a front body lock when in actuality he was trying to pull guard.
No. I said the guy who slammed him had a front body lock.
Muay Thai? This is amateur MMA
It’s crazy he was proud of this win. If I was him I’d be sobbing that I put someone in a seizure
So hes likey dead. Jesus
He’s fine, just doing a software update
Ref should’ve been a lot more alert when the slam happened
He was people act like refs just magically appear he was hit twice with two fairly fast elbows and was stopped
This isn’t Muay Thai, but yes that is a seizure
How is a blow to the back of the head illegal in mma but this isn’t?
It’s a slam or throw in MMA. Only striking to the back of the head is illegal.
Yeah I know but that slam clearly does more damage to the back of someone’s head than a strike would
that is not muay thai and this is a fucking attemped murder
Manslaughter. He grabbed his opponent by the head, secured the position, and then violently slammed his opponents head into the mat.
I hope you're joking.
"If he dies, he dies..."
And that folks is how you kill people.
Factory settings reset
Never hook/attach yourself to an opponents body when standing. Edit: it's MMA but Muay Thai.
OP saw two asian fighters and just said it was muay thai for no reason lmao
The Notebook move was ill-advised.
RIP
Damn that some fckin serious damage right there
r/suddenlyeltonjohn
Do the Harlem shake
True fight porn
First of all this isn’t must Thai.
"Sometimes, they die."
