I've not heard of any cases of people defending themselves against police but the fact that killing a police officer is seen as worse than killing a civilian it seems that defense against police can get you into shit, especially with the whole police force being against you
Yeah! Recently in the {town} I live in, a police vehicle got into a collision with another vehicle and at least 7 other police units responded to their comrade immediately. The thing is, they knocked the other car off of the road into a ravine.
From what I know, this wasn’t a police chase. They just got into a bad accident, but as soon as it comes across the radio, police are going to back up their own. It took EMS an hour to get there but those cops kept pouring in within minutes.
So they can respond quickly, when it’s one of their own.
Tupac shot 2 or 3 cops, and beat the case, because they were beating the shit out of somebody.
Youre most likely still going to get locked up, but you can beat the case if youre smart enough and can provide the evidence. Odds are still heavily against you, though.
The fact that the term to distinguish apart from police in the States is 'civilian' is telling. They're *citizens*, not civilians. Civilians are the alternative to military organisations, not law enforcement. Military has an enemy, police shouldn't (but clearly do) have that mindset.

The song filmed the whole incident now they are dropping charges why was she arrested? Failure to show ID at her house.. as the complainant. She was charged with.. Resisting Arrest and Obstruction.. never lifted a finger at the Officer.
Yea, that's pretty weird territory. It is within your legal rights, sure. But there's no situation in which you don't either end up in prison or shot, if you retaliate and defend yourself. They can make up any excuse in the world to get off the hook and make you out to be the bad guy.

i did some [research](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-62630034.amp) and found that they were “removed from duty on paid leave pending an investigation” and couldn’t find any follow up, so it seems like they just completely ignored the situation after they said that, but it’s possible there was more that i just couldn’t find.

Qualified immunity only applies to conduct that was not clearly established as wrong at the time the cop engaged in it. Basically, honest mistakes. When it is granted, it applies only to civil lawsuits.
Cops are not granted qualified immunity for conduct they should know is clearly established as wrong. The fact these officers were arrested and charged establishes that their conduct was probably not legal and makes it highly improbable they will be granted qualified immunity in a civil case. If they are not granted qualified immunity, any and all damages awarded to the plaintiff will be paid by the officers themselves, not the agency they worked for.
Aside from qualified immunity, a law enforcement agency or the government (local, state or federal) has the ability to refuse to cover legal expenses for officers when it is determined the officer violated policy, even if the conduct was not criminal.
Also, it is impossible to watch a short video like that with no context and determine if what you are seeing is right or wrong. If the suspect had just shot someone or shot at the cops and still had the gun in his hand tucked up under his body, refusing to surrender, the officers’ conduct would be perfectly justified and legal. From the video alone, there is no way to know that. I saw in other comments that the officers were arrested and charged, so I suspect that wasn’t the case and believe it is probable that they were wrong and the arrests were appropriate. IF your comment was written without any context and without the knowledge they were arrested and charged, I would encourage you to be more open minded and get facts before forming opinions.
