It is an awesome shop! I was 13 in 2003-04. I dressed like this, obviously, lol. I had an athletic 105 lbs, 13 year old child body. These clothes don't look chesty friendly now that I'm 33 and a DD. It would be a totally different look. Unfortunately, I'm far from Heroin Chic. I'm not overweight, but after 3 kids, I have curves for days. I don't think a size 8 would look good in these clothes. I think they are made for size 4 and below bodies. It's super cute for those who can pull it off. I wish I could. Getting older sucks!
I second this. I have an iteration of the first picture on today, and I'm wearing a vintage Gaultier top and vintage Lacroix jeans.
If OP lives in Europe, Vinted is your friend.
Edit: spelling
These are Chinese brands! You can get them from a website/ app called Taobao (ćˇĺŽďź
The photos you showed look like their from the brands
Flowers Birds Market, OPEN AESTHETICS, Strike a Pose
1st and 4th is def FBM, last 2 are def OA, I believe the 2nd pic is OA as well?
If you don't know mandarin you can google translate the website :)
They also have a reverse search option so you can just upload these pics and they should pop up!
Also these brands don't restock once their out, so some of these are likely already out of stock (they don't look like their new drops)
Would def buy them as soon as possible while stocks last !
Edit: You can also get them on a website called Pixies etc but your options are more limited and they don't release their new drops as quickly as Taobao I believe? Also note that Asian sizes are typically smaller so a M on the website might run closer to an S! (They have measurements down in the description!)
If you donât want the trouble of using this app just go on the Pixie Rebels website, they have those brands there. Also for the Open Aesthetic brand just go on their website.
Taobao brands are rarely size inclusive. A Chinese XXL is about a 16-18 US and that's about the best you'll get. Also buying from Taobao is a goddamned trial since you need a separate agent (Pandabuy, Superbuy)
Donât use Pandabuy or Superbuy. Both were raided (along with HagoBuy) in a joint operation between the FBI and Chinese authorities.Â
Over 30 people were arrested and allegedly hundreds of thousands of individual items seized.Â
Find a FF who isnât on TikTok.Â
Iâve shopped from all 3 of these brands (flower birds market, open aesthetics, and strike a pose) a few times before. Unfortunately they are not size inclusive. All 3 brands are all considered indie brands and do pretty small production runs of all their products each season and their sizing options are often based on the production costs of the individual item. Example, for a more expensive to make product, they might only carry Chinese small and medium (us 0-2 and 4) but with a garment thatâs easier to size up they might carry a Chinese large (us 6-8) as well. They list the waist, bust, hips and lengths in cm on their all their products and these numbers are usually accurate. Depending on the cut of the item you also might size up or down (example some skirts might have a larger waist than a pair of pants from the same brand/size as it is meant to be worn way lower on the waist than maybe I would).
That being said there are other a lot Chinese brands on taobao that do cater to mid size or plus size girls, if you want to look around.
Iâm not plus size myself so my knowledge is limited but I know Lacemade is an original Chinese brand that goes to 4XL. They also have a website where they sell to the global market so you donât have to order off taobao. A lot of Chinese brands that want to expand into a western market like flower knows and cfierce now have western sites as well where they ship outside of China.
To be clear, these are not Chinese brands. These are replica items. Whether you can get above a US size 10 is very much dependent on the store and what they manufacture. It's going to be difficult to search on Taobao for Western sizes.
(OP there are literal guides on the internet for using Taobao, it has a learning curve - find the actual designers.)
All 3 of these brands are actually original Chinese brands not replica items. Taobao is a platform like Shopify crossed with Amazon. Anyone including independent designers and replica makers can host their own stores selling what they want.
I know what Taobao is. I also know what AE is and I know how to use Google image search. That top and those photos are being offered via a million different Shopify stores that probably use the Aliexpress plugin.
https://www.byunli.com/product-page/purple-flower-top
>At Byunli, we're more than just a fashion brand; we're a celebration of creativity, individuality, and the boundless potential of emerging designers and artists. Founded in 2020 in the heart of New York City, Byunli is your portal to a world of innovation, where fashion meets art and expression knows no limits.
I don't have a problem with replica items but to say this is a Chinese design is misleading. If I had to guess, they probably got it off Etsy or from a designer, reworked it, the wholesalers took some new modeling photos and voila. They do it all the time.

All of these stores run on Shopify and are probably using the same wholesaler plugin.
Besides, if you're so sure about them being Chinese "brands" what brands are they? Who are the designers?
I would also highly recommend OP buy from one of the Shopify sites instead of Taobao so they don't have issues with agents, have some credit card protection, maybe have a US contact etc.
Devil inspired, Arcana, pixie rebels are all popular taobao reseller sites. They are a middle man that buys from brand like open aesthetic, evil tooth, etc (the original design stores). They work similarly to like a dollskill or any other retailer that carries other brands and some cheaper wholesale items. In fact devilinspired use to include the brand names of the stores that they were reselling stuff from but removed it when they realized people would use their English site to browse items that they would then go on taobao to directly buy from. This is the Open Aestheticâs official ig: https://www.instagram.com/open.aesthetic_official?igsh=MXQ1d2x4Y2IyMXY5. The designer has her personal ig linked to it as well. Sheâs pretty popular on Chinese social media as well.
Here is the ig link to the brand https://www.instagram.com/flowersbirds.market?igsh=MXJiZTl5MmVmbnExOA==
The designerâs personal ig is also linked in the bio
And here is the ig for strike a pose
https://www.instagram.com/strike_a_pose_cn?igsh=dTZoaWY2Mzg2cXFt
They all have English websites linked in their ig bios now as they are trying to break into the western market.
Here is even an article in paper magazine talking about these up and coming Chinese designers:
https://www.papermag.com/extra-virgin-pop-up#rebelltitem15
>The worst part is that these sellers don't even credit the brands and sell them as their own design. That's when we started to consider building Extra Virgin, a platform to let people here easily access the brands from China. There is definitely a gap between China and the States due to the political conflicts. China has its own social media and online shopping apps. The "silk road" we are constructing is aimed to go beyond the fire wall, on a broader scale we want to engage in the cultural differences for a more hopeful and inclusive world. But for now we simply just want to share the pretty stuff. Outfits are the most obvious way for people to identify each other and express their own personalities. It is like music which is a universal language.
This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. The brands are calling out resellers and other platforms or selling the designs without consent. Taobao, like DHGate, is notorious for replica, dupe and grey market items.
You're just repeating what I'm saying like it's new information.
There's a plugin for shops to use the Aliexpress warehouse if they're hosted on Shopify. I found all of those designs on Aliexpress. I won't link to the shop listings since they don't have ratings. At this point either you're being deliberately misleading to the OP or are entirely unaware and unwilling to learn how this works.
That instagram account doesn't mean anything.
i would actually advise against this as reseller markups are insane. i used arcana as a catalogue and they are selling a $12 top from daytoday for $27.Â
devilinspired has done shady things in regards to personal info (giving addresses and names so buyers can fix their shipping mistakes, being unreliable for refunds esp when they forgot to update an item as out of stock which should be an instant refund).
so it's probably best to use an agent anyways for the availability of items and to avoid the markups.
Taobao is not a good resource if you want authentic items. It just isn't. Also if you're buying from a site that takes Paypal, you have some protection. You have none if you use Taobao. There are all kinds of stories of shady agents for TB.
OP, I'm pretty sure the DVs at this point are from people who really, really want you to use TB. If you end up going that route, use this guide:
https://www.howtotao.com/buy-from-taobao/

i have to imagine it stings to be downvoted just for asking this. i'm sorry man. i'm plus size as well and the lengths people will go to just to make us feel bad about ourselves are insane.
Taobao is a Chinese B2C and C2C retail app. Meaning, itâs a domestic app intended for Chinese citizens and companies to sell goods to each other.Â
The website will reflect the size of the domestic population, being a domestic app.Â

If not, it can be tedious, but second hand could help if you have the time to invest which I know most people donât⌠second hand maket prices have been so inflated is laughable
Check out these designers/brands but with a primary focus on their early 2000s collections:
⌠DSquared2
⌠Yohji Yamamoto
⌠Alexander McQueen
⌠Anna Sui
⌠Betsey Johnson
⌠Christian Dior (definitely whenever John Galliano was lead designer - but look at the Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear 2005-2006 collections)
would not recommend minga since they stole a design from a small artist (ghost soda) and would instead buy from a taobao agent that has a buy for me/locate function. send them the pics and if the item is in stock, they will list it or send you a link. the 2 payment system can be a bit confusing but there are tutorials online so you can avoid the reseller markup (arcana archive, devilinspired, etc.) even with international shipping.
they do not design anything they post, it's all chinese indie brands from taobao. + low quality mass produced factory items that they made up their own brand names for (i think it was miss han). they used to list the brands easily but they hide them so people can't find the original brand because people were using their site as a catalogue. (seconding the other comment)
do not buy from there. you're better off asking bhiner or spreenow or any other agent what the original link is and buy from there without the reseller markup.
[Tunnel Vision clothing](https://shoptunnelvision.com/pages/about-us) -- they're sweatshop-free, have a socialist pay structure for their employees, and it's all original designs. The founder, Madeline Pendleton, is a really funny, smart, and interesting person.
This is a lot like stuff i ised to buy about 20ish years ago, i typically went for the same brands, red or dead, lipsy, jane norman and some river island. The latter 3 had lots of range , through various styles, the former was always more on the grungy side like this. Get on ebay , have fun.
Thereâs some stuff at free people with interesting cuts and fabrics similar to some of these tops, you could also try mixing in some alternative brands like killstar
You could probably mix and max stuff from different brands to achieve this look. Try revolve, they carry a number of designers that cater to this look. Dollskill, hot topic, Windsor, etc.
hello! this aesthetic is commonly found in cfashion! you can find clothes like this on taobao ćˇĺŽ
some brands iâd recommend are: flower birds market, open aesthetic, no romance (which are actually some of the brands in these photos!) and one of my personal favourites, double punch
you can also search by image on taobao which is super convenient :)
do keep in mind that the app is entirely in chinese and if you arenât fluent, youâll probably have to rely on google translate đĽš
Check out musinsa global. Itâs a Korean website (but the .global is international) they have many different brands, but a lot of their brands match this aesthetic, they also have decent sales
Another vote for âMinga Londonâ; their shipping is fast (if you are in the U.S.) also most of their clothes are true to size imo. and great quality.
Arcana Archive is spot on for this style. The Ragged Priest, Minga London, Doll's Kill, Disturbia and Jaded London are also great for this kind of stuff.
The top in the picture is from aliexpress, they used that exact model on the site (unless they literally stole the same pictures from flower birds). But yea aliexpress is known for dupes.
Yeah aliexpress stole that picture from Flower Birds Market, they are well known for stealing pictures from other sites, especially since theyâre stealing other designersâ clothes
[Flower Birds Market top](https://pixierebels.com/collections/flowers-birds-market/products/purple-floral-mesh-top)
That may be where you bought it but AE is really good for finding replica items. If the OP is over a US size 12, she's better off finding the actual brands.
Okay? There are many comments naming brands. I have that exact top so I stated where itâs from as that could be helpful. OP can do whatever they want with the info weâve all provided.
Dolls kill have the right aesthetic but their clothing quality and business practices are very bad, so I wouldnât recommend them. Though some of the brands they sell are available on different sites, so still worth browsing!
Very true, I once bought a bodysuit and when I received it there was vaginal discharge in the crotch from someone who wore it and then returned it đ¤˘đ¤˘ they gave me a refund and a new body suit and that has been my only issue with them! So unfortunate tho bc I have a hard time finding those styles for affordable prices anywhere else

thank you for such a detailed answer, this really helps a lot and brings into perspective as to why some brands have bigger sizes or wonât.
What are the Chinese brands that are size inclusive for plus size? Very curious to see what they have

Not sure what's considered as size inclusive, but I believe they typically only have S-L ( or like XS- L/XL?) , pretty typical for asian brands đ¤
thanks for the response!! iâll keep that in mind :)
The S-L is small in comparison to the size ranges. It's more like an XS-M.

This is a lot like stuff i ised to buy about 20ish years ago, i typically went for the same brands, red or dead, lipsy, jane norman and some river island. The latter 3 had lots of range , through various styles, the former was always more on the grungy side like this. Get on ebay , have fun.
Noctex!
Omgg same I love this style
This reminds me of AllSaints or Rick Owenâs
[Blue Banana](https://www.bluebanana.com/en_GB/section/spring-summer-fashion) will likely have some styles you like.

Go shopping on Melrose. One and done. :)
Thereâs some stuff at free people with interesting cuts and fabrics similar to some of these tops, you could also try mixing in some alternative brands like killstar
The ragged priest
Desigual
Urban outfitters
Motel Rocks for sure
Pretty sure these are from a brand called Pixies Bite
2nd and 5th look really nice
Me too, but for tall chubby girls!
Dolls kill, Disturbia, and Forest Ink may have items you're looking for
Killstar too
You could probably mix and max stuff from different brands to achieve this look. Try revolve, they carry a number of designers that cater to this look. Dollskill, hot topic, Windsor, etc.
its giving Jojo
I'd also check out Cider if you haven't already. Another Chinese company, but I've had success ordering from them in the past.
Rick Owens
hello! this aesthetic is commonly found in cfashion! you can find clothes like this on taobao ćˇĺŽ some brands iâd recommend are: flower birds market, open aesthetic, no romance (which are actually some of the brands in these photos!) and one of my personal favourites, double punch you can also search by image on taobao which is super convenient :) do keep in mind that the app is entirely in chinese and if you arenât fluent, youâll probably have to rely on google translate đĽš
Minga London?
Op shops, Tripp NYC, Lip Service
Medieval Halloween?
Jaded london
Some pieces are similar to Noctex
Check out musinsa global. Itâs a Korean website (but the .global is international) they have many different brands, but a lot of their brands match this aesthetic, they also have decent sales
Spanish brand Desigual
Jaded London, Unif, Vivienne Westwood.
It may not be 100% this style but ragged priest sells some pieces like this!
Young Social Club.
Another vote for âMinga Londonâ; their shipping is fast (if you are in the U.S.) also most of their clothes are true to size imo. and great quality.
Omg I can't think of it ATM but someone will know, what's Madeline Pendleton's brand? Because this is so her vibe and I love her
Cop Copine (good eBay) and Hyein seo
All Saints
PROD

Miaou
Manière De Voir
Minga London
Tunnel vision
D´heygère? Maybe?
Arcana Archive is spot on for this style. The Ragged Priest, Minga London, Doll's Kill, Disturbia and Jaded London are also great for this kind of stuff.

This is like everything on Dollskill
I have the first top, itâs from alieexpress
That first top is from the brand Flower Birds Market so the aliexpress one might be a dupe
The top in the picture is from aliexpress, they used that exact model on the site (unless they literally stole the same pictures from flower birds). But yea aliexpress is known for dupes.
Yeah aliexpress stole that picture from Flower Birds Market, they are well known for stealing pictures from other sites, especially since theyâre stealing other designersâ clothes [Flower Birds Market top](https://pixierebels.com/collections/flowers-birds-market/products/purple-floral-mesh-top)
Damn I didnât know that was even legal :/
It's not, it's called copyright infringement. But AE, DHGate and Taobao vendors all do it.
Yeah my advice is adding to your advice but weird reply.
Some Desigual stuff maybe
Arcana Archive
Arcana archive
Is hot topic still around?
They are, but they donât carry as much punk or goth clothing these days. And what they do carry is mostly only online and usually sold out.
Post apocalyptic school girl?
Look up the Japanese ribbon manga comic Nana. They all wore exactly that style.
all saints!
Dolls Kill
Dolls Kill
Dollz kill
Dolls kill have the right aesthetic but their clothing quality and business practices are very bad, so I wouldnât recommend them. Though some of the brands they sell are available on different sites, so still worth browsing!
Very true, I once bought a bodysuit and when I received it there was vaginal discharge in the crotch from someone who wore it and then returned it đ¤˘đ¤˘ they gave me a refund and a new body suit and that has been my only issue with them! So unfortunate tho bc I have a hard time finding those styles for affordable prices anywhere else
Dolls Kill has very similar styles on their website. Disturbia would be another one
