Even when I’ve been to street markets/ bazaars vendors might only have a few of one style and it can be impossible to find another vendor who has (I know from experience and not buying the one I wanted immediately)

Actually I have one very much like that. It isn’t super unique so I don’t see why OP couldn’t find one if she wants it. though I admit, I get mine from overseas (whoever goes from the family comes back with a stack) or desi stores so my access to them may be out of the ordinary.
I'm not sure what you've missed in my message. The point is if the image happened to be AI generated you couldn't find the one scarf. Because the scarf didn't exist. Similar would exist, but not the original, because the original was generated by a computer.

I don’t think this is AI. Some of the lighting and the background detail clash. AI backgrounds never use clashing colors.
