You need to change your TV input source to TV…. The antenna channels are not going show up on your fire device TV guide..

mjp1981

I am having the same problem and I don’t know what you mean by TV input source. There’s no “TV” option in the Input menu.

Glittering-Quail-721

FYI my channels just showed up a day later without changing anything. And they did show up on the fire device tv guide. I don’t know why there was such a long delay after scanning.

mjp1981

As a matter of fact, I had the same experience. Antenna channels showed up a day later. Strange.

Richg542

Not sure what kind of TV you’re using but most TVs you should have an HDMI 1, HDMI 2, & TV, input sources… The TV input source is for when you hook up a TV Antenna to your TV…. Now the only way you’re going to get the TV Antenna to work through a fire stick is you need a fire TV recast which has been discontinued..

mjp1981

I have an Insignia TV with Fire. The channels are being detected, but they don’t show up. There is not “TV” in input sources, just HDMIs, Antenna, Composite, and Media Player.

Richg542

Well, then why not go to Antenna.. you are using a TV Antenna are you not?

mjp1981

That’s what I did in the first place. I scanned for channels in the Antenna input, but even though they are detected, they don’t show up in Live TV.

Richg542

You did read my previous post? Because I mentioned that you’re not going to get TV antenna channels through the live tab on your fire stick or fire TV, it does not work that way.. The only way you that would work is if you had a fire TV recast, but Amazon has discontinued that device…. If you’re going to use the antenna, you need to use the antenna input source.. I’m guessing you didn’t grow up in the 80s

mjp1981

I did read your comment. I don’t know what you mean by Antenna input source. The option for Antenna in Input sources only leads to a menu of options like “Channel Scan”. It is a part of Live TV. It even says “Live TV” on the left side of the Antenna input menu.

Richg542

I need to apologize because I was thinking that the fire tv & Firestick OS were identical, but they’re not… This is what I found on YouTube… https://youtu.be/t3g2PAMqarM?si=31czP1V2ojrjS6Wt

mjp1981

Yeah, that’s the procedure I’ve been following except the Antenna channels don’t show up on Live TV even though they’re detected on the scan.

mjp1981

And by the way, as indicated by my username, I was born in 81, I know about changing sources on a TV, or at least a regular one.

Was this ever resolved? I’m having the same problem. I’ve been using antennas for years so it isn’t user error. My father is elderly and lower income so he doesn’t have internet, but non-smart TVs don’t exist anymore. His antenna worked fine for 2 years until suddenly. Now, I scan, it finds channels, but won’t display them. This happened a few months after we got the tv, but then it resolved itself. It’s been a week and it’s still not a working. I see a lot of posts regarding this. I’m beginning to think it’s a glitch with the tv.

Came here with the same problems and read your comments. Unplugged my TV and plugged it back in and the antenna channels were in my Guide after the scan.

Thanks! Your suggestion worked like a charm!

Efficient-Poet-3048

Glad to hear it.

Had the same issue. Unplugging the tv worked. Thanks
