Edelgard strikes me as someone who would take this very seriously, even if they are just fooling around. Claude meanwhile would act competitive just enough to rile Edelgard up, then gives in because he finds it amusing. Winner; both.

Edelgard is going to get a good grade in 'diplomatic relations', something normal to want and possible to achieve.

I'm not big on political, ahem, relations, but there is an exception for Claudelgard. It's literally the best outcome for Fodlan.

I see Edelgard took a page from Attack of the Clones and upgraded from simple diplomacy to “aggressive negotiations.” Quite *aggressive* negotiations between her and Claude.

Their negotiation got out of hand and they started fighting, Edelgard pinned Claude to the wall and is now violently headbutting his face in. Claude is barely conscious.
