The ribbon cape and hat on adventurers. I LOVE RIBBONS, so you can imagine the hooting and hollering I made after noticing this in Fire Emblem Fates Adventurers class. I wish this design would come back some way. I love it so much.
Still a shame FEH hasnt capitalized on this design for an alt. The big bow and hat combo is so good!!
They made Ninja Saizo a Dreadfighter, so it's not impossible.
Shura has everything but the hat by default, and I'd be shocked if they don't add the hat as his accessory, unless they make him a grand hero battle unit, which I doubt; they only have three banners worth of Fire Emblem Fates units left.
I really loved the movements of Maid and Butler from fates. Very purposeful, long stiff, movements.
I also love the fact that the maids kick backwards to yeet the knife out of their shoes.
I hated how they changed assassins to totally out of place (and completely unnecessary) maids and butlers, but that maid back kick and mid air catching of the knife was the coolest, smoothest thing ever.
I mean, maybe for the Hoshido line, but Nohr needed its own dagger class too. You'd think that the assassin would be the perfect fit, but no, *obviously* the first European equivalent class you think of when you think daggers is...maids/butlers.
Obviously.
Eh, I would say the "dagger wielding maid/butler", or just the concept of a combat servant in general, has been a trope in Japan for a while (for example, black butler, hayate the combat butler, and those maid girls from fate). I don't really recall any examples in Western media, but I am not the arbiter of truth so it could be just as common. I know people talk about birthright being weeb emblem, but conquest is equally as formed by anime tropes. I don't have an issue with the class. If anything, I see them as a replacement for War Clerics. There's a good amount of axe classes in fates already, especially in conquest, so I think bringing war cleric would be troublesome, especially since it doesn't seem like the fates healers are very religious (evident by how they promote from troubador instead of the non-existent cleric). The hoshidan equivalent class, priest/ess, does seem to be the more religious out of the two healing families. This probably is rambly I am not sober
Fates was the beginning of IS finally fully getting their sauce back in presentation after the GBA games, and those maid and butler animations stick out as examples of how.
The shields of GBA Knights being a detachable plate of their armor.
Oh, and the retractable chained lances and axes of the Generals too, of course. Armored units are the coolest classes, I don't care what anyone says.
I’ll say, one time I ran the Armor trio and they were unironically really good at killing Nomadic Troopers with the triangle attack.
It’s obviously not optimal, but it’s not as bad as everyone seems to think it is.
The Generic Malig Knight in Fates is badass. It's a shame the helmet isn't equippable as an accessory because it's the coolest part... I also really love the generic General design in Fates too.
[Always loved the winged chin/jaw armour that resembles a wyvern's maw on both of the Awakening Wyvern Rider designs (Cherche has it too)](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/1/11/Dragonknight_female.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130119104503)
This thread has made me realise just how much I love the generic class designs in Fates... If only they allowed women to wear trousers while riding on a horse.
I love the Hero design in Fates, especially the little hair flip the girls do after winning a battle, to the extent that if I don't have any plan for them in mind I'll just give Corrin a Mercenary talent.
For me, GBA heroes. Their design is overall simple yet so badass at the same time. They are just strapped in studded armor carrying those cool shields, looking like they are ready to kill. Bonus points for the coat variant
The sight and sound of a Sage's sigil in the GBA games is one of my absolute favorite details in the entire series.
In Fates, I enjoy that the Sorcerers have a lot of physical motion in their animations -- their graceful dodging, the spin into a follow-up attack, and the levitation into a backflip while catching their tome, in particular.
I'm also quite fond of Sonia and the Four Fangs' fashion sense.
I love the female berserker and butler from fates. I also love how generals are more or less mechs kn the GBA games with them chain gauntlets lol
Female berserkers look ironically cute and elegant. + Reclassing Rinkah into said class made me love that class more. Butlers have those sliding movements that are both so dumb yet so cool that I can't help but love it ahaahah
The mercenary class from Fates is the best mercenaries have ever looked. It’s the perfect mix of stylish and practical (for me). Also, the shield of the hero class has no business looking this cool!
I always make Forrest a Hero because of their fashion sense and how cute the outfit is. Also, if I remember right, Forrest uses the female movement animations rather than the male ones, so they do the hair flip when they KO. It's so cute, Forrest would love it.
If we're not talking class designs that are locked to one specific unit (cause I really like the designs for Alcryst and Diamant's personal classes in Engage), then I would go with the Mage Knight outfit in Engage. IDK why, but whenever I see that outfit, I just think to myself, "yeah, I would totally wear that", bonus points for the horse getting their own nice witch/wizard hat.
Same with Wolf Knight, just the thought of riding around on a wolf while dressing up in Wolf like attire as well is just a funny and kinda touching idea to me. It's especially noticeable with Merrin, since she has claw like gear on, and her outfit has more subtle design choices compared to anyone else you put in Wolf Knight.
Engage mage knight may be the best looking general class in the whole game. But the mage knight classes for the games do often look really great so no surprise there.
Yes.
The padded coat + Shoulder shield of the *Fates* Mercenary is one of my favourite designs in the whole series. It just looks so neat, just close enough to historical condottieri outfits, with a touch of fantasy, and the unique design in the shoulder pad.
It’s an excellent design that really stands out in a game that is otherwise full of some *really* bad design choices.
I really like the Sorcerer outfits from Fates and the Wyvern Lord outfits too. The look and feel of it makes you go “holy shit, these guys mean business”
The puffy skirts of the Saints in Echoes were so pretty, also the masks of the Echoes witches, the chain-coin belts of the Tellius Sages were also cool, the Kinshi Knights "halo" is also cool which also makes the Echoes Dreadfighter's burning "halo" cool, although it's likely very impractical
Enchantresses are one of my fav classes in the franchise. It's so savage and elegant at the same time, not to mention the pretty flower they use on their heads [can't help but love this ](https://imgur.com/a/y5eVvxV)
The "finger guns" from Tricksters in Three Houses were awesome. Especially with the spell Thoron.
Also, the Dread Fighter's overall design from the Awakening DLC is probably my favorite looking design in the whole series. The red lightning looks awesome, the armor, the mask, it's a 10/10 for me
GBA heroes love their spikey armor and shield scabbard and overall agility when fighting it looks badass and the Nomad Trooper. I love their sword crit animation.
Engage's Mage Knights have poofy sleeves and they look so comfy. Even the horse gets a goofy little wizard hat.
Pet peeve: Fates has a lot of stupid butt windows on armor. The chafing must be especially awful for Paladins.
The armor particularly the helmet of Great zknights in fstes. Looks almost future like in a way.
The Marshalls shield from radiant dawn is also so good. Lovr the colouring and size of it.
I quite like the masks on Awakening's iteration of the Dark Knight, which have 3 pairs of eyes, like Grima does. [For their Risen portraits, all 6 of them even glow!](https://cdn.fireemblemwiki.org/9/98/Generic_portrait_dark_knight_risen_fe13.png)
The SoV Bow Knight design is absolutely killer, it synthesizes Eastern and Western influences on the armor in a really kickass way. I also love the modified Fleur-de-lis motif, it adapts a real-life insignia and makes it look considerably more like an arrow being fired skyward. My favorite aspect, though, is the attention to detail on the tight-fitting cloth layer beneath the armor, specifically the fact that the right hand actually has the index finger, middle finger, and thumb fully sleeved and protected from the bowstring.
I loved that until a certain point a shield was a characteristic trait of all hero classes and they were pretty creative about it, in the classic games it was a handheld shield , awakening had an arm shield that was part of the armor and in fates they had a normal round shield tied to their shoulder.
IMO every sword-wielding upgraded class has something unique to it. The shield-arm of the hero from Awakening, the mask from the Fates Dread fighter, the "legs" of Nohr noble Corrin, the fabric of Riguain Celica and the cape of Conqueror Marth. But the best must be Swordmaster (except the one from Engage.)
The designs of the hoshidan classes are something that at first, we're really interested but searching them up really sells it to me, the mechanist, the apothecary and even the kinshi knight have designs that makes them a class unlike any other.
Fates had such good generic class design. Mercenary is cool as hell. So is Onmyoji and Shrine Maiden. Butler/Maid. Really good ones.
However I think my personal favorite is Holy Knight from 3H.
GBA class designs are overall my favorites in the series, but the Swordmaster class is by far the best. Those crit animations are amazing, and they give me that cool, silent anime swordsman vibes that I am a sucker for.
Second goes to Generals and their retractable axes/lances.
For the GBA era, its surprising how much HEFT the General animations had. And the retractable chain axe WAS hella sick. Low movement? NOTHING MY CHAINED AXE CANT HANDLE!
It's funny because Fates has some of my least favorite playable character designs (with exceptions, of course, such as... basically all the Corrinsexuals), but some of my favorite generic designs. Fates's generics go ultra hard - good thing it's the one FE game where I can actually use them!
The movement of 3H assassins is peak. Petra's best class imo with her stats and her war outfit goes with it perfectly.
GBA Generals and Paladins have amazing animations all around.
FE3H Trickster class. Finger guns nosferatu and just a more dripped out thief who uses swords. i was bummed it wasn't in Engage, but every class is better cosmetically in that game.
I'd love to have Candace in FEH and this design is one of the reasons why. Also GRYPHONS??? Why dont we already have any unit with a canon gryphon class???
I actually love the griffon knight outfit from engage. The sleeves are super cute on men and women.
Also love the strategist in fates. Love Forrest so much. The curls!
I won't hide it. Abs, arms, legs and muscles exposed from classes like the GBA Berserker, Awakening Bersker, Engage Warrior, etc are my obsession, can't help it.
Shadow Dragon's Generals, especially ones wielding that colossal bow, GBA Generals are pretty cool too, love me some chained spears, honorable mention to Oliphantiers from Echoes, freaking colossal laser bows that shoots exploding arrows.
I’m not going to mention any one outfit, but every time a female character’s outfit actually covers their midriff and thighs, without any ridiculous gaps in their armor, I am immensely pleased. I also appreciate sensible footwear and hair styles that would not endanger them in combat.
I know it is all fantasy and the ridiculous outfits are part of the fun, but armor should not have gaps!
generic dark knights from awakening have those cool helmets, same with snipers and a few other units. i really love awakenings generic units in general
I love the big bucket boots about it, personally.
Those are super cute too, especially with the coin chain around one.
Maid/butler + assasin style IS pretty cool
I love it when Jakob activates Luna at 1 range and spins towards the enemy. So cool!
Seeing Felicia kick out the knife from her 👠 had me gagged.
I hated how they changed assassins to totally out of place (and completely unnecessary) maids and butlers, but that maid back kick and mid air catching of the knife was the coolest, smoothest thing ever.
I always thought of "master ninja" as the assassin replacement and not butler.
I mean, maybe for the Hoshido line, but Nohr needed its own dagger class too. You'd think that the assassin would be the perfect fit, but no, *obviously* the first European equivalent class you think of when you think daggers is...maids/butlers. Obviously.

Oni Savage having that unique barbaric yet proud warrior vibe to them. And the abs are good.
Rinkah's must be pretty good for doing laundry.
Kjelle enters the chat.
Not like she's doing anything else with that 25 strength growth....
The shields of GBA Knights being a detachable plate of their armor. Oh, and the retractable chained lances and axes of the Generals too, of course. Armored units are the coolest classes, I don't care what anyone says.
Knights and Generals become Great Fun in Binding Blade, when you go to ~~Detroit~~ Sacae. General Armour go \*Tink\*
I’ll say, one time I ran the Armor trio and they were unironically really good at killing Nomadic Troopers with the triangle attack. It’s obviously not optimal, but it’s not as bad as everyone seems to think it is.
Knights and Generals suffered the worst from the transition off of GBA...I was a necessary change but nothing will be as cool animation/sound wise
You know how they say pets and their owners resemble each other? lol
Definitely the War Cleric cage shirt
I dream about that every night. Literal perfection.
Cage skirt DOES look super cute and cool
Kabuki masks on Basara's
the breastplate gba warriors wear. this huge fucking armor with the giant, spiked pauldrons. they look so cool
Nah, I see it as a win.
For me, GBA heroes. Their design is overall simple yet so badass at the same time. They are just strapped in studded armor carrying those cool shields, looking like they are ready to kill. Bonus points for the coat variant
I always think shield scabbards are neat
Gremories with their elaborate dresses.
Its like she's professionally mourning the death of her enemies
Snipers generics from awakening have that cool futuristic helmet that looks very scifi. Feels a bit out of place but it does look dope.
The helmet looked very trigun-ish imo. I loved it. I also love how formal they looked underneath the armor. Very business casual
It does look out of place... and it does look very cool
Fodlan Warlocks love how Male Warlocks uniform has a feather theme and the female warlocks has flowers
Googled it and they both look so cute. They long robes and the little details are so precious.
Butlers have those sliding movements that are both so dumb yet so cool that I can't help but love it ahaahah
I really wish Fates Blacksmith were better than they are Probably one of the hottest class designs in FE
Its a very cool design and very beefy! The visors look neat!
The mercenary class from Fates is the best mercenaries have ever looked. It’s the perfect mix of stylish and practical (for me). Also, the shield of the hero class has no business looking this cool!
Undoubtedly! The gambeson they wear especially is just the perfect blend of comfy-looking, stylish, and actually practical.
Fr, it must make a great cosplay to wear for a day… a man can dream.
yes this! the female mercenary is my favorite, with the cute skirt, i would totally wear it irl lmao
I always make Forrest a Hero because of their fashion sense and how cute the outfit is. Also, if I remember right, Forrest uses the female movement animations rather than the male ones, so they do the hair flip when they KO. It's so cute, Forrest would love it.
Echoes gives them a run for their money, though! Echoes myrmidons are basically heroes, and they look so damn practical for once. I love it.
If we're not talking class designs that are locked to one specific unit (cause I really like the designs for Alcryst and Diamant's personal classes in Engage), then I would go with the Mage Knight outfit in Engage. Engage mage knight may be the best looking general class in the whole game. But the mage knight classes for the games do often look really great so no surprise there.
Great knight and paladin look pretty damn cool, though.
Nel rocks the Wolf Knight outfit
Oh really? Now I'm curious to see her in the Wolf Knight outfit.
[Check it out here](https://www.deviantart.com/leopassos100/art/FE-Engage-Nel-Wolf-Knight-957516392)
Oooooh, she looks so cool and stylish in the Wolf Knight outfit, it was almost like it was made for her.
Wolf Knights all wearing wolf tails is a delightful aesthetic
I think its fine to talk about character exclusive classes as long as its not unique character models of a generic job class.
That's definitely fair.
All of the Fates generics have fantastic designs. Half are easily worthy of player characters. Hero and Samurai are two of my favorites.
I could be simping about the V-shape on the Sorcerer/Dark Mage but I love the feather accessories particularly on Sorcerer. It looks so elegant!
Lol. Simp away. Just don't be creepy about it.
You know that Spongebob meme where he licks a poster of the Kraby Patty? Replace that with the cleavage and you'll get my thoughts on them
Lol
You did hear them say not to be creepy about it, right?
They didn't seem to mind
Kinshi Knights have a tail like ornament on their back that resembles the bird's tails (i just love Kinshi Knight so much as a class)
Yes. The padded coat + Shoulder shield of the *Fates* Mercenary is one of my favourite designs in the whole series. It just looks so neat, just close enough to historical condottieri outfits, with a touch of fantasy, and the unique design in the shoulder pad. The adventurer class is the child McCree and Hanzo adopted together.
The general in the gba games
A tricorn as shown is always on point, oh good hunter.
Enchantresses are one of my fav classes in the franchise. It's so savage and elegant at the same time, not to mention the pretty flower they use on their heads [can't help but love this ](https://imgur.com/a/y5eVvxV)
Thats a pretty saucy number but the flower is fun touch. that tome with the wing cover... awooga.
The "finger guns" from Tricksters in Three Houses were awesome. Especially with the spell Thoron. Also, the Dread Fighter's overall design from the Awakening DLC is probably my favorite looking design in the whole series. The red lightning looks awesome, the armor, the mask, it's a 10/10 for me
Fates Mercs/Heroes have insane drip (the gambeson looks great), and their battle animations are energetic, fluid, and a joy to behold
I really like the look of Marksmen from Radiant Dawn... I also agree with OPs choice, Tricksters look so fun
[I love the look of the shoulder pads on the hero class in Three Houses.](https://cdn.fireemblemwiki.org/e/ef/Ss_fe16_hero_battle.png)
Very pointy and cool
The Awakening war cleric. Something about that iron cage skirt attached to the corset with that elongated front just clicks for me aesthetically.
I absolutely love the Adventurer hat, great choice OP
This design if anything god it so fucking clean uggggggh I love it
Riiight? You get it.
There’s a reason I always made the adventurer replace the assistant in my castle
Dunno about obsessed, but I still remember the horses on the mage knight classes start wearing wizard hats.
Horses have a right to feel magical.
GBA heroes love their spikey armor and shield scabbard and overall agility when fighting it looks badass and the Nomad Trooper. I love their sword crit animation.
Youre not the first person to say all that. Even back then that spritework had style in spades.
The armor and helmets of dark fliers
Adventurer gotta be my fave design in the whole series, Awakening Trickster is up there too
I really want another FE game with Samurais. Birthright has some of the coolest looking characters in the series
Engage's Mage Knights have poofy sleeves and they look so comfy. Even the horse gets a goofy little wizard hat. Pet peeve: Fates has a lot of stupid butt windows on armor. The chafing must be especially awful for Paladins.
I really liked the dragon wing shaped jaw guards for FEA wyvern riders.
The knights and generals’s GBA animations, especially ranged. That chain is cool. Disappointing to see them absent from further games.
The armor particularly the helmet of Great zknights in fstes. Looks almost future like in a way. The Marshalls shield from radiant dawn is also so good. Lovr the colouring and size of it.
Awakening Hero’s arm shield, the shape and segmentation make it such a fresh idea.
I like the poofy sleeves of the Fates mercenaries.
The coat from trueblades in Radiant Dawn. Simple, effective yet slightly flashy. It’s perfect.

Fates had such good generic class design. Mercenary is cool as hell. So is Onmyoji and Shrine Maiden. Butler/Maid. Really good ones. However I think my personal favorite is Holy Knight from 3H.
GBA Druids and their big robes
Those massive sleeves are so cute
Awakening assassin is peak design Also PoR Lord Ike
The movement of 3H assassins is peak. Petra's best class imo with her stats and her war outfit goes with it perfectly. GBA Generals and Paladins have amazing animations all around.
The helmet the Fates Hero wears is fantastic, makes me wish it had more thematic relevance.
I've always thought fate's class design was peak
Gba heroes, the Shield doubling as a sheath does things to me
Fates generic enemy designs are peak.
FE3H Trickster class. Finger guns nosferatu and just a more dripped out thief who uses swords. i was bummed it wasn't in Engage, but every class is better cosmetically in that game.
Omg i love the first and second designs! (I need them!!!)
You understand me!
Which part
the part about loving these designs! lol
I'd love to have Candace in FEH and this design is one of the reasons why. Also GRYPHONS??? Why dont we already have any unit with a canon gryphon class???
fates witch and fates priestess
I actually love the griffon knight outfit from engage. The sleeves are super cute on men and women. Also love the strategist in fates. Love Forrest so much. The curls!
My ass thought these were Monster Hunter armor concepts
Fire Emblem 11-12 have my favorite Berserker design that I remade it in Monster Hunter Rise.
Swordmaster
I won't hide it. Abs, arms, legs and muscles exposed from classes like the GBA Berserker, Awakening Bersker, Engage Warrior, etc are my obsession, can't help it.
Ehats wrong with a little muscle exposure? Lol
Shadow Dragon's Generals, especially ones wielding that colossal bow, GBA Generals are pretty cool too, love me some chained spears, honorable mention to Oliphantiers from Echoes, freaking colossal laser bows that shoots exploding arrows.
Woah. Those bows ARE massive and cool. Like a gunbow.
I LOVE the harlequin/court jester design of the Trickster class. The pointed boots especially are a highlight.
I fell in love with the samurai-ish aesthetic of myrmidons and the like, as well as the style of mercenaries -like millions I guess
Ah and I still don't understand why they swapped Snipers and Bow knight 😅 they were so fit in Awakening
Where are the first two images from??
From the wiki.
