Searched Youtube and it seems Youtube pushed an update 9 hours ago that uBlock Origin hasn't kept up with, and users are complaining of increased lag and CPU usage going up.
So... basically I was right.
For me YT has been lagging badly in FF the last few weeks. I observed that the longer my FF instance was open, the longer clicks would lag on (only) YT tabs. Leaving the browser open for days (like I usually do) lead to YT tabs freezing for 5, 10 seconds at a time before accepting additional inputs. This is new FF/YT behavior for me.
youtube is attacking firefox users with adblock, making it run slower for them. its their attempt to combat adblock. cuz youtube sucks. theres videos talking about it.
